$1M usd disappeared today from the order book.

We may see cheap coins soon  Grin

yes all sell please.. got some shorts running  would be great!

or dont sell.. got buys done at 118.. for the long run.  so that would be great too..

whatever way it's going.. it's great..  but even with 1milj less of bidd(which will eventualy come back at some point)

i think market will go up or just do nothing(for a week or maybe 2) .  i'm happy with that too

short/midterm neutral, if infrastructure develops mid/long term bull (wait and see)

I went all in at $118, not because it was the ideal price but because if I believe in something enough, well, that was in the region of the price I was willing to pay... any extra dollars I spent can circulate the bitcoin community and someone can profit from it.

Have invested all my coins back into the community into ASICMINER for roughly 6 months then re-assess.

Will buy more lower and higher, and aim to use bitcoin when I can from the dividends I get from the shares.
i went also all in 118.. been slowly buying them last friday ..
i have no idea why i found this price to be ok for me but i'm holding on to it .. selling would harm me more then to hold (no volume enough).

lets see how this turns out..

edit: i bought in with a long term view...     i'll be playing around with short term too..  doesnt matter if price goes up or down for that.. always opportunity Wink
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something is setting up with the market on: May 11, 2013, 09:04:30 PM
I have been glancing of the minute by minute trades on Mt Cox over the last couple days. I know we have been trading sideways, but it almost has that "feel" that something is being set up. Looking at some of the larger (500+) coin trades, sells and buys, the price really isnt getting affected as much as it has in the past and on top of that there is hardly any volume, which you would think would exacerbate the price even more? The price is staying in a super tight range. It reminds me when I used to trade stocks and there would be a huge sell off and the price of the stock would open lower and stay at the same low give or take a dollar all day. Huge blocks would sell and the price stayed relatively flat. You know It was the market maker sitting there buying buying and goosing the market and letting it go a little bit at a time so he slowly unloaded probably the majority of what he bought as the buyer of last resort. I have no idea if this is consolidating for a move up or down. What do you guys think?

this is bitcoin.. there's always something being set up Smiley

My gut is screaming bull trap

My gut is screaming bull trap, bear market, capitulation, and bear trap all at the same time.

Getting mixed signals here.

Once, when asked about his gut feeling, Carl Sagan said: "I'd really rather not think with my gut, my brain does the job a lot better"  Grin

Don't prodigies and athletes use the least amount of brain power? In fact high level operation has often been (curiously) linked to lower brain activity. Perhaps this has something to do with the subconscious. Anyways, I'm sticking to what I thought 10 or so days ago: downtrend.

Edit: that being said... I'm getting super impatient.

This pretty much sums up the market at the moment. Everyone thinks they will be able to get cheaper coins... but the longer they wait, the less likely that becomes. Once the bids exceed the all time high (not far off), I can see a massive spell of panic buying ensuing.

lol that's what i'm seeing.. people selling below 118   and the ask price sticks to 118, so anyone has to buy them coins back more expensive

i want to buy in but i'd bring price over 120$ with  massive slippage..
put some asks up there people!..
312  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 10, 2013, 12:58:14 PM
The build up from China?  Timing seems right.  I thought the price was going down but this could be a HUGE rally!!!  Congrats bulls!   Wink

we need to break 125$ Smiley if we can..  booooooom!!
313  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 10, 2013, 12:23:50 PM
Hey Bears! *knock knock*

Is it just me or does it look like rpietila flying through the door of the plush hotel ?  Tongue

LOL! Supernode style!

Almost made me choke on my breakfast burrito. Good call.  Grin

this Smiley

edit:

anyone thinking the wall could be fake?  at ask side?
314  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 10, 2013, 11:46:38 AM
well you could eat the mini ask wall that's trying to get cheap coins ..
315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 10, 2013, 09:28:12 AM
fyi, there's a short 2500btc+- sitting there to pop(buy order) .. probably when prices go to 120 ish..  let's find out Smiley
316  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 10, 2013, 08:00:07 AM

people buying this amount are thinking longer term..  them expect the price to go up in the future. so it's a bullish indicator ... unless it's lended money(and would be a stupid move to make right now).. then it will come down again if price doesn't move up much Smiley
317  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 10, 2013, 07:56:46 AM
I guess people love Bitstamp to cash out.

But I can confirm: Bitstamp follows Mt.Gox everytime, despite wallsize and anything else.

orderbook to thin on bitstamp.. this is not a real representation .. just watch gox..

the reason why bitstamp follows gox is simple.;  bitfinex is connected to bitstamp.. this means instant arbitrage on bitstamp.
318  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker - Hardcore on: May 10, 2013, 07:47:57 AM
Walls are looking pretty healthy. $4M+ of coin or dollars required for a 15% movement in either direction.

Side Note: What the odds the big cats are completely trolling us with this "stability" before they start effing shit up again?  Grin

The problem with that is people are buying, but they aren't holding. They're turning around trying to sell it at a small markup. And it seems the amount of people doing this in the last mini-crash has put up a huge chunk of legitamite asks that make it very slow going if we're going up.
.

wait until uptrend is there again Smiley traders will hold .. it has been down trend for a while..(medium scope)  it doesn't make sense to keep btc as a trader.. wanting to make a quick  profit.. in down trend.

this is my tactic in uptrend:
buy coins... they will increase in value after a week.
lend equal amount of coins .. they will increase in value after a week

when a "little" correction happens.. sell the borrowd coins and short if possible.. .. and get the fiat profit.   at the bottom of the correction.. buy new coins with the fiat profit.

this way I have double profit on the coins I started with.

with downtrend.. I just do the opposite..
so basically it does not matter which way it goes there's always an opportunity.

at this point i'm putting some bid offers at lower price you never know to get lucky to have some cheaper coins..in the weekend dip.

i'm not expecting for new big selloffs to happen so i'm getting my bull hat ready for the coming weeks..  it might take some time but ..  imho.. up is the way to go after consolidation.

I'm a bull in general though..  I like the price to become high enough so the "mainstream" traders with millions at their hands can join the ride.. now the orderbooks are way to thin.
also I just have a "gut feeling" it will go uptrend again , have been right most of the time (90%) it's still a gamble though haha  "this is Bitcoin"
Regards

wonky tonky
319  Economy / Speculation / Re: Greedy developers want to call off Bitcoin Mass adoption - long term down trend? on: May 09, 2013, 08:52:15 PM
The force behind this patch is that zero-conf transactions have never, ever, ever, ever, ever been safe in any way, shape or form.  Now everyone has to accept reality.

this.

wouldn't thrust a 0 confirmation EVER! that's why bitcoin in it's current state is not ready for fast transactions.

(it can be used as a fast transaction if you thrust the guy sending it..  like a regular customer in your bar or something)

to me this forum part is just FUD  .. we all know coins are not going to crash much further down so they all want them cheap coins .. the speculation forum is not here to help you
it's here to manipulate you

maybe i'm manipulating other people because i'm bullish Wink
320  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions for the next bubble on: May 09, 2013, 03:51:35 PM
Everything is faster...

22 months between June '11 and April '13.

I'll go with somewhere around six to nine months for the next.

This.  A lot of people with vested interest made a lot of money during the most recent one, and it drew a significant amount of interest in the process.  Improvements in the infrastructure and lowering barriers for entry from fiat and back would go a long way.

this.

i'm sitting here with 10x the money i started with (.. ready to buy in again.. i'm in for the long run.. ..   meanwhile bringing more sepa over to bitcion and slowly bying up more Smiley) ..
