301  Economy / Speculation / Re: MASSIVE options order on apex.co on: February 26, 2014, 06:44:37 PM
well, a 24 hr average of zero and volume of zero should not move any averages.

funny thing would be if mtgox did what some originally anticipated in fixing the withdraw problem and letting withdraw go through, BTC may have shot up a lot (the old mtgox premium).
302  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Source close to potential investors: 3 companies bidding on Gox on: February 26, 2014, 01:38:06 PM
I think an external buyout is a pipe dream, gox has its own legal issue before this fiasco

BTC China show us how a platform can 'decline' (or lose its spot) relatively quickly in this market.

he can go back and enjoy trading on gox

Gox should file for bankruptcy, let trustee and professionals handle this matter.  This is in the best interest of everyone.

if he's operating while insolvent and mixing customer fund with operating fund, does this constitute fraud?

Is the site down at the moment?
308  Economy / Speculation / Re: MASSIVE options order on apex.co on: February 25, 2014, 04:24:08 AM
as bad as it is for the option writer right now, at least gox being dead will not count against the weighted price at settlement.
309  Economy / Speculation / Re: How low will they go? on: February 25, 2014, 03:42:45 AM
I think now is the last chance for cheap coins, the overhang of a possible goxcoin dump no longer exists.
310  Economy / Speculation / Now that Gox is dead, shouldn't we have a rally? on: February 25, 2014, 03:37:05 AM
One of the reason the other exchange's prices are depressed was the belief that Gox will resume withdraw, which caused cheap coins being picked up at gox to be dumped elsewhere.  Now that Gox seems to have lost everything, shouldn't we have a massive rally now that this 'phantom' dump will no longer take place.

Question about wire deposit:

Quote
Deposit Notification
Amount USD

By clicking the button below, I confirm that I have sent a wire transfer with the correct transaction reference and I accept that some fees may be applied by the banks involved in the transaction. No fee will be taken by Bitfinex.

What to enter in the "amount USD" field? Should i just enter the amount i enter on the bank's site? But then if my bank takes a fee, the real transferred amount is less than what i entered on BFX, won't that be a problem?

One of the suggestions on my list was that BFX get a bank account in the EU that European customers can use. SEPA transfers are less of a hassle and cheaper (no bank fees). Almost every other exchange has it.

BFX does not have an account in Europe, no SEPA.  I am highly against Bitfinex creating accounts in EU or US or even Canada, risk of seizure or closing your account is so much higher.  We don't need Bitfinex to become mtgox.

btc-e now trades above bitstamp, looks like bitfinex has a huge impact on bitstamp

I hope some kind of automated alert is setup to refill the hot wallet.  recently, the hot wallet is running out of BTC rather frequently.

in the past, btc withdraw seems to go through automatically if you have 2FA enabled.  Today I try to withdraw some BTC but it has approval pending.  Anyone has similar experience?

Everyone selling big amounts of goxBTC at the moment is arbitraging. You can easily make 50% in just a few hours by doing this:

1) Deposit into Gox via OKPay - it takes a few hours to clear.
2) Buy goxBTC
3) Sell goxBTC for "real" BTC at 0.6ish while the real price is 0.4

Example: at $250/goxBTC, for $10,000 you get 40 goxBTC, you can sell them for 24 realBTC. 24 realBTC on stamp at $625 equal $15,000.

4) You can send the real bitcoins back to OKPay and get ~$15,000.
5) You now have $15,000 to buy more goxBTC with.

Rinse and repeat and it's a money printing machine, a pretty fast and incredibly profitable arbitrage.

Prices are going down because there's a lot of competition between people doing this, so the market corrects itself.

I don't see the hour to deposit to Gox via OKPay, how is that doable?  Do you send directly to mtgox wallet from OKPay?
317  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Okpay to MTGOX deposit time on: February 19, 2014, 03:19:36 PM
how do you initiate a Okpay deposit to MTGOX, there is no such option on the mtgox funding interface.
318  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deposit to mtgox from OKPAY on: February 19, 2014, 03:18:52 PM
I do not see this funding option in my mtgox interface and I'm verified + not from US.  How do you initiate the deposit?
319  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it possible to deposit USD from OKPAY to MtGox? on: February 19, 2014, 03:17:35 PM
I do not see this option in my account and I'm verified and not from US, very strange.

Got greeted quite a few times by this:

"Connection Problems

Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later."

Anyone shed any light on this.
