So he needs to confirm if this is really what he wants to retire or retain all the titles and fight whoever deserves to have a shot.

He has been unpredictable, as if he doesn't cling too much to his accomplishments, believing that he can easily win a championship. Unlike other boxers who consistently fight challengers to retain their titles, this boxer is truly different—youthful and audacious.  Grin

If they want airdrop from Optimism, they must follow up Optimism's official website and channels.
The problem is, how can a beginner who is eager to get involved in the airdrop know the difference between the official website and the fake website?

I think the general advice should be that we should avoid airdrops because scammers are using the airdrop channel to scam beginners.

Most airdrops end up being scams, which is why some coins that advertise through airdrops are not getting the attention they need in the public market because most people cannot trust the project unless they follow various advertising systems that involve bounty and signature campaigns.
That’s a good advice but I don’t think they will be able to learn if they don’t try experiencing it. This is why study first and read the site reviews so you will get an idea if that is an official or fake one. For sure once the site is being faked, a lot of participants will post their complaints so they can also raise awareness for those who are eager to enter. And always invest that you can afford to lose.
303  Economy / Speculation / Re: Take advantage of the price fall. on: June 12, 2023, 06:43:01 PM
Is been a hard knocked to everyone trading bitcoin this seasons especially investment, my friend was sore disappointed for the recent falling of price because he bought $1000 bitcoin but the truth is that we cannot foresees the future in today, this is not the first time the price is Reding down, we should take advantage of this time at least you can use a small to purchase high value bitcoin. I wish we've profound bitcoin price analyst here, many people really wants to know the cause of continues price deflected, if you've ideas please your comments will be very important here. We newbies this days fall victims a lot because of ignorance of cryptosystem. Let's talk as a family.
That’s the reason why we should only invest at a manageable amount, especially in a highly volatile investment like bitcoin. And know that not all the time bitcoin price keeps surging, it will always have its certain price drops which makes the crypto market becomes too much unpredictable. However, instead of panicking, we should always see it as another opportunity to buy and invest more. Buy when the price is low, that’s the only way we can maximize our bitcoin accumulation and it’ll paid off when it’s value reaches another all time high.
304  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 12, 2023, 05:56:16 PM
I was doing a comparison between gambling and trading I find out that their is merging between trading and gambling, I want to explain the categories of trading and gambling from my research gambling don't have to do with skills, but people prefer gambling than trading, but I kicked against gambling because it does not have control that leads to victory during time of diecasting your prediction in gambling therefore I concluded that gambling have to do with luck.

Both gambling and trading are ways of making profit and they both  involve risk and with is I think bot gambling and trading have much similarity but the difference I see there is that gamble doesn't need much knowledge before someone become successful and doesn't consumed time in term of predict, just in short it chances of lucky compare to trading that someone will lose if it doesn't have proper knowledge. As for me, I see gambling as a thing that takes the chance of luck because it doesn't require much knowledge, and someone does not need to work hard before someone can be a gamble winner, but in trading, someone needs to be very skilled in terms of trading and work hard before someone can become successful in trading.
That is the reason why gambling is more often a source of losses than profits, unlike in trading that is done everything with knowledge and skills, and certainly a little bit of luck to make it possibly happen. Though you can also get rich in gambling quickly than trading, but know that it can also make your life more miserable with fast gains and losses, unlike trading that is made with timing and persistence.
305  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 12, 2023, 11:29:34 AM

But if not, then that's it and we'll just witness a history that's being made through the Nuggets. Everyone wants to see it go until game 7 not until Nuggets will win the next game or by the 6 but who knows?

But I think this time the Miami Heat will have a hard time coming back. They were already derailed when they lost at home, so I don't think they are as hungry as they were before returning to Denver. Though I would say the series is over, judging from the last 2 games, it's easy to say that the Nuggets have dominated the Miami Heat, especially now that they are playing back at home.
306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Factors that's why others are hesitant to start in crypto on: June 11, 2023, 07:54:15 PM
I talked to several friends about investing in crypto and almost all of them rejected the possibility.
Why?
First of all, people are busy with their daily life, responsibilities, work and other things and do not think about any investment.
Most feel that they do not have enough money for any investments or are afraid of the risk of investing and the possibility of losing everything.
Everyday use of bitcoin or any crypto is still rare and that is not a sufficient reason for someone to become interested in bitcoin.
Besides, when I start explaining to people what bitcoin, digital wallet, private key and other crypto terms are most of them just give up and don't want to listen.
That’s for those who are not completely aware on the future of bitcoin. Instead of taking the edge in bitcoin and accumulate a lot while it’s affordable, most of them chose to reject the idea of bitcoin investment because they are not ready to take the risk and they are not ready to incur losses, when in fact those who do not lose at first won’t make it big in any of their investment attempt or endeavor.
307  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Deciding to save money in Bitcoins for the future of the child on: June 11, 2023, 07:29:33 PM
I have also thought of this, as I do have an upcoming child, but I am not as lucky as you to have spare money. Your idea is really good to save it for the future of the child, but always think about the risk. It is also best to put it in the bank, but again, banks are failing in your country. I think that is really the best way right now. Your situation is very difficult because there are no banks if you want to put it there. How about those businessmen or rich people? How do they store their money?
Yes, saving for the future of your child is always a good idea, but if you withdraw all your funds and focus on bitcoin investment, I guess that would be too risky to take. You could be so much profitable in the future, or yet  you could lose them all when bitcoin’s value end up zero( of course that won’t happen hopefully). However, if you have ultimately lost your trust in the banks, then you can invest and diversify them. Do not put your egg in just one basket, learn to invest in other profitable investments too such as real estate, stocks, or even gold that is showing consistent price increase.
308  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue | WBC & WBO 122 lbs bout | July 25 on: June 11, 2023, 03:56:19 PM
Although there might be some changes when it comes to the possible opponent of Casimero, Inoue and Tapales because I think Fulton will shuffle all the cards in time when he leaves the division and vacates the belt he is possessing, if he won his future fight with Inoue.
It would be more positive for the contenders in this division if Fulton wins, as he might pursue his plan of moving up in weight class if he defeats Inoue. However, if Fulton loses, he may still consider moving up, but Inoue would hold the belts, which would make it tough for the contenders. Inoue is likely to aim to become an undisputed champion again, posing a challenge for other fighters in the division.

As for Casimero, if that scenario unfolds, he may not be easily given an opportunity. However, with hard work and dedication in all aspects of his career, he could potentially get lucky and secure meaningful fights. Winning consistently is necessary to increase his chances and make a strong case for title opportunities.
309  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 11, 2023, 03:22:25 PM
Another win.  Leaning in hard on game 5.  I can't see Miami coming back and game 5 will end up being just too much.  We could be witnessing the beginning of a dynasty here.  Jokic has learned how to completely control the game and with Murray, mjp, and Gordon along with the other role players this team is set to win for awhile.

I love how Gordon understand Jokic so well and everytime Jokic gets the ball he go in and makes the points. But the Murray Jokic duo is soo good this season and no body can stop them. I also think that Miami cannot make a comeback in these series and i think in the next game might be over already with 4-1 for the Nuggets.

That good eye-sight of Jokic gives everyone a chance to score.

He's very unpredictable, he can attack, pass and shoot the ball. An all around offensive arsenal
that gives the Nuggets a big advantage. And just like what you say, the combination of Murray
who also can create the same damage the way Jokic did, it's really a hard task for the Heat,
chances to win in game 5 is slim but we never know, maybe they may push for another one or Nuggets
will be crown as champ in front of their home crowd.
If the Nuggets win this and Jokic wins the Finals MVP, can we already consider him to be the best center in the history of the NBA, or am I just exaggerating? LOL. Sorry, but I'm just really impressed with how he played and how he remains unstoppable in the NBA Finals so far.
310  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Your favorite season to trade cryptocurrency? on: June 10, 2023, 09:53:20 PM
Cryptocurrency is risky, and while we are aware of the basic requirements that must be in place in order to profit significantly, not all of us are aware of an appropriate season to trade. Most professional traders prefer the bear season, which, in my opinion, is the best period to conduct critical study on crypto projects, uncover ethical road maps, and invest in them for a possible solid future. The bull season is most likely harvest time; we reap what we sow in the market. Which season is better for trading, the bull or the bear?
It’s obvious that bullish season is the best time to trade for crypto. A lot have proved and become highly profitable in it. Bear season is the perfect time to buy and accumulate crypto with high potentials, and finally sell them and make profits when bullish season takes over the market. But if you are an experienced trader, every season is good to trade as long as the market condition does not go against on your trading decision.
311  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Established members and newbies on: June 10, 2023, 09:23:06 PM
Although I haven't spent much time on this forum I observed that when most newbie make a valid and reasonable post they only get nice replies instead of established members assisting in ranking them up
The chances of ranking up from a newbie is very thin in most cases  even for those striving to add value to the forum.
I am not imposing anyone to help others rank up but I am saying rank should not be a sole factor to consider when someone deserves a merit
Is it really the trend now? I don’t think giving a merit will depend on your rank or level in the forum. Because as far as I’m concerned, people in the forum give merit to those members whose posts are highly valuable and highly quality regardless of their rank or position in the forum. No one is responsible for other member’s ranking up, it’s only yourself who can always help in that case.
312  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: June 10, 2023, 01:55:31 AM

For pre-games, it might be better to risk money on handicap or point spread, that is if that's available pre-game. Not really a fan of betting mostly on tune-up games, even in the NBA, as my fearless analysis can't be applied there. Smiley

It would be nice if the most popular gambling sites had pregame odds, but based on my experience, they do not list them. However, pregame odds are available in live betting. Nevertheless, we can still bet on the spread. It would be easier and more enjoyable to just bet on the pregame odds and fully enjoy the game by watching only.

Anyway, we have one game today between SMB and Meralco. I think this one will be a defensive game.
313  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 10, 2023, 01:25:18 AM
I totally agree with you guys on the Butler topic. He is really inadequate on the offensive side in this series which can lead Heat to lose easier than most of us expect. Butler needs to be more active with his steal attempts and scoring many more points than this at the same time. He has been the main factor in Heat's reaching this round in the playoff stage in the first place.

As you know Heat finished the regular season in 7th place in the Eastern Conference. As a result not many people including me were giving them a chance to have a run like this. Butler has done the biggest work in this time period by scoring a lot of points and carrying his team. He has become like Lakers' Lebron or Warriors' Curry.

Therefore Butler needs to be aware of the seriousness of the situation and do something.

It's definitely a gameover If Denver Nuggets should win this game 4, which I think they will unless Jimmy Butler choses to either step up today or sit out, and I really don't know when next he get a shot at winning a championship, should the Heat win the Championship this it's pretty obvious whose name would make the most story and it's that of Butler's over everyone else on the Heat roster, he's stated really with the Bucks and Celtics, but all that would have count for nothing if he folds now!

What NBA story could possible better than the 8th seeded team and with the most undrafted playing winning a championship while beating the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th best teams of the regular season enroute to the victory, and that'll make Jimmy go down as the first to have done it, I know they're some many record that have been broken this season and post alone by various teams or individual, but there is still a few more that could get broken too.

The Heat have never been behind in a series prior to the NBA Finals. This is the only series where they are trailing, but if it becomes 3-1, then you are right that the series could be over soon. However, it's too early to discuss that in my opinion because the Heat are still fighting to even the series. Despite being the underdogs, they haven't let that deter them. They are here to compete and aim to make history by winning the championship. It's this kind of dedication that makes them a good team.
314  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 7 tips to know about crypto trading on: June 09, 2023, 09:40:13 PM
Yes, whenever a person hears about trading, he thinks it’s an easy way to make money. But the reality is that, in trading in order to make money there is huge risk of getting you money in losses. Trading is actually a lengthy process and in order to be profitable here, you have to learn it properly. Don’t over trade than your budget. Trade the amount that you can afford to lose and at last always have patience. Trading and getting profits might be hard, but not impossible.
The reason why a lot of people still believe that trading is a get rich quick because the social media feed it. That is why never rely on crypto influencers as most of them do not know actually how to make trading profitable. They know that there are huge profits in trading, but what they didn’t know is that they can also incur a lot of losses from trading. That’s why before you decide to trade, think a lot about it and trade only on the amount you can easily manage to lose.
315  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Crypto another form of gambling? on: June 09, 2023, 09:00:17 PM
They can say that crypto is "a form of gambling" because they may not understand it. Crypto is neutral and we use it as an investment. And if someone has the knowledge to choose their coins, they will benefit. The essence of investing in crypto is how we can find more useful information so we can choose the coin.

And people don't need to choose a lot of coins because investing in Bitcoin, which is the main coin in crypto, is enough. Maybe those people need to learn and understand what crypto is and how to use it.

Traders should also learn more about trading to find coins to ride on when the market is down. UK lawmakers can legislate on crypto but crypto is not a form of gambling.
Crypto may be considered as gambling from an ignorant and uneducated point of view. But for those who know well about crypto particularly with bitcoin, then it’s not gambling anymore since we are all aware how advantageous and profitable it is as long as we focus on long term investment. Maybe for UK lawmakers, they are not just confident having crypto around even though crypto is widely legal in their country.
316  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 09, 2023, 03:36:34 AM
It's not a big fight actually, unlike the Garcia vs. Davis bout, which generated significant pay-per-view numbers. However, I'm confident that they will still be profitable after this fight. The trash-talking aspect plays a significant role in selling the fight, so they just need to continue that and deliver an entertaining performance on fight night.

The more Lopez gain a lot of haters, the more this fight will generate good PPV numbers.

That's the KEY!
Josh Taylor will face Teofimo Lopez in the ring; let's hope the most important fighter wins and there are no glitches in the match. Teo Lopez and his father have both been criticized, and their fans have created hatred for them, so there is an additional 80% probability for the pay-per-view to increase, as they are always eager to see their demise, so they will turn out in huge numbers to see the outcome of the entire fight. Of course, everyone would prefer to see a less competitive battle, but by the looks of things,...

Well, let's wait for the outcome of the fight to determine the numbers. The ticket sales are their business, so regardless of how much they'll make from PPV and gate entrance, that's on them. My only concern as a fan is the satisfaction of this fight, which I believe I will have since both fighters aren't afraid to go toe to toe, especially Lopez, who has been very aggressive in most of his fights.

Quote
tickets are selling and a lot of people are eager in seeing how everything turns out live.
I hope so too because that would inspire promoters to provide us with more big fights like this.
317  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 09, 2023, 02:46:44 AM

Again, we might have to hate Teo Lopez and his father, the antics and everything. So I think this fight is going to sell, but I doubt that it can be close to like 200k PPV in the US. But I guess those numbers might be good for this 2 boxers, specially that Teo Lopez is fighting a non-American. And maybe the fans of Taylor is going to watch it from UK.

Ravena is back!

https://www.onesports.ph/pba/article/12503/look-who-s-back-kiefer-ravena-dons-nlex-colors

I was quite surprised, thinking he had returned for good. However, upon reading the article, I discovered that he was only here for training. Nevertheless, I have heard that there is a new rule in the PBA now that allows players who have already played abroad to still participate in the PBA. This is great news for those who choose to play overseas rather than joining the PBA as a professional.
IIRC, players who have played abroad are still welcome to play for PBA. It's just that some people in the management are butthurt that they're seeing players getting offers on KBL, B League and other leagues offshore. Regardless of that, the PBA should still welcome them as it's like a pride that's been with them and having players that have played for other leagues. Btw, have you seen guys the roster for the Gilas? it's an interesting line up and I guess we've got some chance with the roster they've released.

Not really, just recently they lift that sanction. You can read the full story here.

PARIS – The PBA has softened its stance on players seeing action overseas and altered certain draft and eligibility guidelines in an effort to adapt to the changing times

The league board bared it will no longer apply sit-out sanctions on overseas-based players who wish to come back to the PBA, although their signing rights will remain with their respective mother ballclubs in perpetuity.

Therefore they will not worry if they will play abroad and will not have a longer contract because the PBA will sure willing to have them.
319  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Josh Taylor vs Teofimo Lopez on: June 08, 2023, 11:54:13 AM
Anyhow, that will be a great ending for this fight, Teo getting knockout for the first time in his career and then keeps opening his mouth after the fight and not admit to that. Just like when he lost to Kambosos who his father thinks that they still win the fight despite their initial knockout and George schooling Teo.

This is also the scenario that i would like to happen to the arrogant father and son tandem. Getting knockout is not impossible for Josh Taylor to do as Lopez could walk into his knockout punch as we have seen Lopez walking through the counter of Kambosos that did damage to him.

The other scenario for this fight that i see is that Lopez will not be aggressive as he is and might change his strategy, to be a counter puncher as being aggressive will make the night short for him, so Taylor via decision might be a very good bet for me.

I'm with you on your bet. It's likely that Taylor will win, but Lopez will put up a good fight and survive. Taylor, being the champion, knows how to take care of himself in the fight. He won't let his emotions make him act foolishly. Instead, he will stick to the game plan and a knockout will come if Lopez becomes overly aggressive and careless simultaneously.
320  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA World Cup 2026 :Canada/Mexico/United States: Discussion Thread on: June 07, 2023, 08:27:20 PM
I'm not sure, but if your concern is the visa... as far as I'm aware, people only need to acquire a visa for the USA (which is more "complicated") and automatically they have a "free pass" to watch the games on the Mexico and Canada.

I don't agree with this. Getting a visa for Mexico or Canada may not be a big deal for US/EU citizens. But if someone from China or India want to visit these countries, in order to watch the world cup matches, they still need to go through a lot of formalities. And getting a US visa is entirely at another level. For people from the third world, it is next to impossible to get a tourist visa to the US. In short, I guess the fans will be mostly comprised of EU/US citizens for the 2026 event. Very few of those from Asia or Africa are likely to travel in order to watch the matches.

Yes, the US is already expecting a lot of tourists application because of the upcoming World Cup and they already know that people from 3rd world countries are already applying at a much earlier phase because the people are also expecting that it will be not that easy to get a visa to fly and step foot in any US soil and they know as well that it will take a few couple of months before they can have a schedule.

I think it's already agreeable that people from EU and first world countries will not have that much struggle just to secure a visa because having a passport is already a perk and some of the countries don't even need a tourist visa to visit US, Canada and Mexico.
