301  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook & Google creating its own Cryptocurrency! on: December 04, 2017, 09:12:52 AM
they can't.

central orgs cannot really make money out of crypto when you think it through.

There is no way for them to make a large profit.

If anything crypto's spell the end of google and face book, if you think it through.

eventually an app will arise that will suck all your data for you out of face book and put it onto a blockchain solution and advertisers will pay you to be there, rather than FB, so cutting out the middle man, an cheaper for advertisers, and you will control your data.

FB is a dead man walking.

the winklevi, will eventually surpass Zucks by some large margin.

If your balance in your account is incorrect or zero you should read this post to get your balance back - https://forum.helloiota.com/588/Help-My-IOTA-balance-is-zero-steps-to-help-you-find-your-balance-v253

I have done all of this and still zero!

So

I still cant get my iota back

used to be able to log in and see it there....and its gone......since transition.

I can see it on the explorer but the transition tool never seems to attach except once maybe.....0 balance.....

tried to run a full node but the screen just disappears after I add nodes.

Cant join slack channel because it does not exist anymore apparently.

so how do I get my xGi back?

Sounds like the start of another... hacked story.  Check your hash, if you've used the same address twice, it's likely your coins have been redirected into somebody elses wallet.

nope I have not been hacked.

I could see the Giota on my computerwallet, then after the snapshot I could not.

It appears the foundation moved the iota to a  "safe" address and still have not put them back

also I have not used the same address twice.

This sounds interesting that the foundation is able to Move IOTA from address to address?  Do you have any links available regarding this?

Surely if this was the case, they'd be an address trail in your history?

well, they at least can lock up your funds, by upgrading software, and it is up to them to redistribute those funds they have locked up for security reasons.

They had some sort of hackable issue, and so locked up funds, fair enough.

From my end, I had 5.05GI in my account, logged on one day and it was gone, due to the upgrade.

I can see my funds on the chain explorer, but they are not coming back into the latest wallet 2.5.4 with the recovery tool.

Whatever the foundation did, they have locked up funds, and not returned them in a reasonable time, nor has their been clear support or timelines for solutions.

IOTA TIED UP UPDATE HERE

I tried the slack

unfortunately all the info there was

https://forum.helloiota.com/1242/Reclaim-Status

"Status: The IOTA Foundation has not started processing reclaims yet"

and a tail curl hash problem.

[1] the foundation must have enough IOTA to just send out the amounts owed, and then they can keep the amounts on the safe address end of problem.

[2] as it is with supply tied up they are causing a benefit to all other iota holders at the expense of those who iota it frozen

[3] can we at least have a timeline. This is not good for the iota product of they users.

307  Economy / Speculation / is this a point of no return 10K on: November 29, 2017, 11:56:00 AM
So the world wide hype machine kicks in, money floods in, goes to 20, 30, 40 K corrects back to 15 or 25K, or do you think we will see a deep correction soon back to say 7000 or something?

Long term I am 100K to 1 M all the way but interested to know your thoughts.

bitcoin progressively weeds out the sellers

I tried my btc addresses in the BTG explorer but the address came up as not there....do we have to add prefix or do a bit shift or something?
311  Economy / Speculation / Re: if you were ever in doubt about the scale of money prinitng going on.... on: November 24, 2017, 07:50:43 PM
Hahaha this is crazy, have you ever noticed that a lot of people are laundering money through those paintings? I heard about a painting from a unknown person who was valued on 2 million dollars, it was created by someone who was a normal person like you, and me.
But there are some organizations who are entire dedicated to try to launder money by this way, i doubt that this case is one of those, but it is pretty weird to see that they are putting a price of 592 millions just for a painting.

If this painting is bought with "dirty money" ,the people who run the auction should be aware and should stop the transaction and call the police. What kind of ridiculous investment is this?Buying some overvalued painting and waiting for it`s price to go up.If some painting could cost that much, all the people that say "bitcoin is nothing, how can bitcoin cost 7000 USD?" have to shut up.
By the way,i think that the "Speculation" board is not the right place to post this thread.

QE money = "dirty money"

its worse than money laundering, its value stealing.
312  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: November 24, 2017, 07:44:55 PM
why bitcoin should be split again into several parts, whether this is due to disagree between developers, I do not really understand
I cannot give you correct answer, but in my point of view and my knowledge about the crypto market. There are lots of projects simply based on name of Bitcoin, use Bitcoin as their prefixes, tried scamming around. Be careful.

its fine you end up on all forked chains...and is a way of exploring all viable models.

Hi I was checking the BTG explorer and some BTC I had on the BTC chain does not show up on the BTG explorer why is this, do we have to add a prefix or something
314  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether: not even a scam on: November 21, 2017, 09:35:43 AM
pegging something to something that is worthless or inherently beyond your control, USD FIAT, is doomed to fail.

I can see why they are doing it to work around legacy banking....but to many variables....many of which are internal, like the urge to FRB..T!

(fractional reserve bank Tether).

If FRB T is no going on then .... ok lets face it ... it is.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: November 17, 2017, 07:27:15 AM
where is all the funding money going?

I really thought the wallets would be better with this much funding. Funding model is good, but the spending side in dev better wallets is really not good.

Kinda disappointed

I mean nem nano, Lsk nano, and vcash are some good examples of slick wallets. Particularly with vcash considering its smaller market cap

Hi you can follow where the funding goes here:-
https://www.dashcentral.org/budget
https://www.dash.org/forum/topic/pre-budget-proposal-discussions.93/

Please define what you mean by "slick wallets" as I am unfamiliar with the wallets you mentioned,,,
are we talking about how the wallet look's on your screen maybe or the functions the wallet is capable of performing..
the second of the two can be found here:-
https://www.dash.org/forum/categories/dash-guides.85/

have a look at xvc

a button called instasend in the android client would be a really good start.

thanks for the response though!

The electurm is quite an old version of electrum...but ok I guess

Also Having looked at some wallets a few things

electrum seems to have no insta send function

the insta send in the dash core is a little tick box....I would have a big fat button

working out the costs is well back in kb, and then working out my costs etc ... can you make this more normie

No insta send in jaxx of coinomi.

the transaction fees were higher than I expect in Jaxx....it was 8.6 US Cents or 0.0002 DASH. this is way higher than I had thought it would be I thought is was going to be a fraction of a Cent......

can you put somewhere again a normie style transaction costs for each wallet.

I mean you have x million a month in funding and I thought maybe you could afford to make it a wee bit more transparent.

They hype is all insta send but the implementation is obscure.....and seems to be much more costly than I got a vibe for.

seems to be discussed here
