which CPU do you use? G4560 works well on my nvidia rigs, is it fine with rx vega cards?

I use ryzen 1600 so I can cpu mine it too.. ryzen 1500x might be just as good and cheaper for cpu mining idk

I'm going to build a 3*vega56 rig, how many RAM do I need, Is 8GB OK?

Yes.. 8gb works from what I've seen

Hello, I bought this motherboard, but I can not install the nvidia gtx 1060 drivers, I tried both on windows 10 and on ubuntu.
I only have one video card, I put it in the 16x slot, I do not know if I have to activate any option in the bios. could you help me about this?
thank you

Using windows update for the driver may fix it

For those using Add2Psu.. is there a certain kind recommended to use or avoid?

Got it now for Vega 56 - W10 installed, just use the Monero hints posted on reddit (Monero and Vega - the definitive guide), use Bios from Vega 64, AMD blockchain driver, use DDU before, if any driver was installed, after blockchain driver installation set in Wattman all voltages to manual, import the Vega_64_Reg_GPU_0000-1050HBM.reg, with OverdriveNT - adjust P7 1060 /865mV and mem P3 1090 / 875mV.
Got a stable hashrate of about 42,5 Mh/s on ETH with Claymore 9.8 with 230 Watt at the wall. Think that is the maximum actually....sadly not the 80...90 Mh/s as posted in any fake posts
use Claymore 10 with vega asm kernel to get 44.2 ))
And you need 1222/1100@820mV to be in 150watt range

Does 44mhs eth need hbcc on? if so, what is hashrate with it off?
308  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: October 12, 2017, 12:59:57 PM
Power efficiency, cool and no need to mess with ROMs - what not to like?
Shitty profitability (as in hash per dollar), insanely long wait until you break even, constant search for the next shitcoin to rape.

But other than that, everything's peachy!  Grin

Seriously though, I haven't touched my AMD rigs since I switched them to Monero 2 months ago. And before that I didn't touch them while they were happily dual-mining ETH+whatever. Once you've set them up, they're extremely low maintenance. nVidia tends to be the other way around... unless you're setting them on ZEC and accept lower profits. My nVidia rig has been mining LBRY, ZEC, ZEN, Zcoin, BTCZ and auto-switching all over the last month. Oh and SIGT while it was still up.

What do you use to autoswitch your nvidia rig?

anyone testing hashrate with softplay mod?
speed/watt?
with amd-stak 4gpu i got 7700hs/675watt, on pool 24h average result 7850hs, earning around 3% above whattomine calculator
happy with stak,
vega seems most stable gpu like fury series

I ditched the afterburner. The frequencies jumped between values i set and boosted/reference values like crazy.

2x Vega 56, flashed with 64 bios, blockchain drivers, using oldcomer's softplay mod.
4GB DDR3, 70GB vram, HBCC on (don't have slider, but toggle)

Power draw from the wall is 320W (-50W pc, gives about 135W per card).

0,1 threads intensity: 2016, 1800
2,3 threads intensity: 1900, 1800 - i have monitor connected to the second vega

Initial hashrate:

But it wont stay up for long... in the first minute it drops by 300-400

Overdrive settings:

HWInfo:

Any thoughts why my hashrate is dropping?

Either HBCC is turning off somehow (some other program or task starting?) or your fans aren't high enough (put em around at least 3000) to keep the HBM mem cool enough to sustain the high hashrate

I can control voltage in AB. Only difference is that i don't have SoftPowerPlayTable mod, cause that shit was crashing my system.
I had to reinstall blockchain drivers in order to get power limit slider working.. i could only set -1 0 +1 %.

so you have stock bios no flash correct?

blockchain drivers
msi ab.

which vega
what is  hashrate for xmr
what power draw for xmr

V56 stock bios, but use the custom power play table for undervolt, 1850-1910h/s depending on mem OC, 900-925mv core, 130-135w per gpu at the wall (one guy said as low as 110w using a slight core OC, I have yet to try that)

Have fun Wink

Can you share this power play table for V56 so we can try it also?

So on my stock bios V56's.. I tried the v56 power play table instead of the v64 one i was using... and It didn't work well- I couldn't get any undervolt to work!

here is the way I got it: https://1drv.ms/x/s!AsrdFd4FVQj_hVPlABJFy7RtFcvV

it's an MS Excel spreadsheet you can customize your table and then it outputs the power play table reg file for you.. Please let me know if anyone gets an undervolt working using any V56 powerplay table

I actually thought I read someone else say they tried stock V56 bios with the V64 power play table and it worked for them before I initially tried it and I didn't realize there was any risk! guess I got lucky that I didn't brick my 2 cards and that it works so well. I am trying a power play table specifically for V56 now to see if anything is different results wise

Best results so far for a V56: 1950-1975h/s @ 130-135w

1. Use stock bios

2. Use the custom power play table: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AsrdFd4FVQj_hU0lNZqgJaGeLffI

3. In Wattman, set voltages to manual, fan speed to at least 3000 (this might not be necessary), and OC mem to 975.

4. Use intensities 2016 and 1736

If this got you your highest hash/watts.. feel welcome to donate to my XMR address: 4JUdGzvrMFDWrUUwY3toJATSeNwjn54LkCnKBPRzDuhzi5vSepHfUckJNxRL2gjkNrSqtCoRUrEDAgR wsQvVCjZbRzX7Z35FpEg29UmnBp

its briked. do not use. its modified bios 56 or stock 64.

As in it doesn't boot anymore after trying my method??? I have an MSI v56 and Gigabyte V56 and both of them have worked great so far with my method (stock bios with V64 power play table)

What about frquency settings in wattman? What voltages should I exactly set in wattman?
also in your .reg file title it says vega64, do I need to use 64 BIOS for this or did you mix something up vega 56/64 naming?
Thanks for your effort

Like step 3 says, overclock the wattman mem to 975 (and leave the core clock as it is). Leave the voltages set as they are but like i said set the voltages to manual instead of automatic (clicking manual will set them to the settings the power play table uses from step 2). No you don't need the v64 bios! that's what it was designed for but I'm getting the best results using it with the stock v56 bios.. You can try this with the v64 bios but I got worse results that way

@ Mods & Community,

I vote for both:
1. Escrow must be accepted by all sellers, however they have the option to additionally not use escrow when selling as long as they offer it.

2. All sellers must post an asking price in their selling threads

All seller threads not offering escrow or listing an asking price would be locked immediately. This is similar to how it works on reddit r/hardwareswap and works very well (they mostly use paypal instead of escrow though)
