3001  Other / Meta / Re: Problem with plugin uBlock Origin on: March 18, 2022, 10:32:25 AM
But it was weird to see the blank gap in the middle of forum main page.
It's common on ublock origin, it is much strict than other ad blocker that is why its the most recommended. Plus there are lots crypto related malware, making it enabled on a site like bitcointalk will cause much like that.
3002  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What kind of software should beginners know? on: March 17, 2022, 11:13:47 PM
Do virtual machines protect you from malware and keyloggers?  What about linux?

The thing is if you click on a link that might be dangerous, does the VM protect it or not?  What about paid anti virus like kaspersky or norton etc if you use windows?
Most virus format or compatibility is for windows OS, so its good to say that it won't affect and linux os is safe for most of the known virus.

Clicking url is not enough, the url page should be accessed before the browser and anti virus react to it if.

Mostly if you installed an ad blocker, which url domains are whitelisted or blocked it react immediately just by clicking the url imo.
3003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its time to go in crypto lets leave fiat cutrency on: March 17, 2022, 10:54:13 PM
Its good to go all in with crypto and leave fiat, but wait until the world is ready for it.
It will be good to say that it's ready if elon has successfully deployed the starlink in part of any country so everyone will be internet available, in any part of the country since crypto/bitcoin is fully dependent on internet to transfer. Plus the government's regulation is a big factor though.
3004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: BK8 Signature Campaign | Full Member+ | #1 Fully Licensed Crypto Casino on: March 17, 2022, 04:14:03 AM
Have you ever heard of KYC before?
Phone number to make it easier to Verify your account for an added layer of security. While the full name and country of the bank function for withdrawals. The bank you choose must be registered in the name you registered with BK8.
KYC is okay as long it is mentioned and included in the OP, but it isn't. And requiring it upon registration seems odd. Didn't see any famous casino do that in registration process, but they are ofc requiring KYC upon withdrawals or so, many gambling do exception signature member in KYC too. Anyway, I'm outta here.

Cancelled. Why you're asking numbers, full name and bank's country upon registration? Are you fiat custodial wallet/exchange or something. You're inviting users to input fake information since some countries are not there including mine.
3006  Other / Meta / Re: Ukraine and Russians should have a joint board on: March 16, 2022, 09:56:42 AM
Are you from their local? If not, these 2 countries have almost the same language and share the same board.
Don't expect peace talks will come too soon on these users while there is ab actual war. Plus, mods usually dont moderate all kind of hate speech so you will still read this kind of threads/posts.
3007  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bet9ja vs bitcoin in Nigeria on: March 15, 2022, 11:14:24 PM
Sorry but is this  bet9ja.com/  what the OP meant - the number one betting site in Nigeria? but why can't i access it? should I use a VPN?
Seems like they ban ip address or dns filters. Regarding your issue I can access the site its probably something on your end, I cant see that user is not allowed using vpn while accessing the site.
3008  Other / Meta / Re: Lock Russian section. on: March 15, 2022, 10:58:14 PM
Stop blaming russians for what their state leaders movements and actions in relation of war. Soon as their government isolate the country's internet lately you can't see them posting and active again on that board, unless some of them risks their lives to do it
3009  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which wallet is safe for keeping large amount of btc? on: March 14, 2022, 11:55:19 PM
My always bet is a hardware wallet, nothing else. You can use electrum, already posted above, but you need to secure your device as well unlike hardware wallets that you can use them on unsecured environment, but ofc, you don't need to that just to test.
3010  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: E-naira and Crypto currency on: March 13, 2022, 11:47:53 PM
E-naira adoption would definitely be low as the citizens do not trust the government and would rather not have them controlling their finances completely.
If so, this perspective can be applied on their local currency naira, as well? Which is more problematic.

Why Crypto was ban is because at that time the youth were going strong and many of with are Crypto enthusiast, so it more of an attack.
I only see it as irresponsible government, why did US and other countries regulate it or even el salvador make bitcoin as legal tender, instead of banning them? If as large as US can regulate it considering more people = more chance of crime, fraud, laundering etc. then why not other countries wont? More likely is due to corrupt officials, nothing more.
3011  Other / Meta / Re: Curiosity about being merited for a comment on a 4-months old locked thread. on: March 13, 2022, 04:43:25 AM
As I say it's just a curiosity, but how did you get to that comment? Diving through all the posts?
Maybe, just maybe, it is. Or someone linked your comment to someone's thread asking the same or related to the question.

By seeing your merit history welsh did gave you same amount of merit on old replies, maybe he's a fan of yours or a stalker? Kidding aside, I guess that's how a merit source do when someone often make quality posts.

3013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upliftment of Crypto Ban of Nigerian Banks on: March 12, 2022, 09:40:38 PM
Upon the ban of the currency, Nigerian youths still use the currency effective.
No doubt, crypto people in any country where bitcoin or crypto is banned still uses it, trade and get profit of course with safety measures. It's just unfortunate, that in instead of regulating it where the government and its people benefits on it, they keep ignoring its potentials.
3014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain transfer issue on: March 12, 2022, 07:42:20 PM
You can try to use other exchange rather than blockchain.com to lower trading fees and conversion fees, but it will be still the same scenario, you will pay for fees.

But for the difference of €6, I'll stick to it since it not so much. Next time you should transfer your fund to much bigger exchange to reduce and save fees, at least when conversion to fiat.

If ever you will get a hardware wallet here's a list[1] of vector attacks you may know to prevent and protect your future hardware wallet and funds there. Good luck.

3016  Other / Meta / Re: Merits Tree 2022 - Monthly Results on: March 12, 2022, 09:42:19 AM
Do you have any software used to make this tree from loycev data? Or you just browse and copy paste those data manually?

That's lot of effort to do if doing this manually.
Indeed nice information shown. Thanks.
3017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blame Game in gambling on: March 12, 2022, 02:17:49 AM
because media is highlighting the negative consequences owed to gambling. very few articles will tackle the positive side of gambling. in most cases, only the negative ones are being published.
It's because negative effects in gambling weigh more than it's positive side, people see it as literal gambling than just entertainment where you can do entertain in other things than just throw away your money, that's how most people see gambling.

You will always read from media news that someone got killed, suicide, becomes poor because of gambling than someone got a winner sweepstakes, makes someone's rich it's because it's rarely happens, see the difference.
3018  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: What is Low Fee, Full Service U.S. capable exchange+wallet on: March 11, 2022, 11:53:10 PM
Let's not confuse between exchange and wallet, an exchange doesn't have private key and they have control over your money, while wallet you have the private key and only person have private key can control the wallet. What you mentioned above is exchange and not a wallet (e.g. Bitcoin core, Electrum, Blue wallet).
Not all kind of wallet though, there's a sub-category for that made by businesses to make profit under the name of a "wallet", non-custodial and custodial wallet.
Custodial wallet works like an exchange, no private keys = not full control, but it still named as a "wallet".
3019  Economy / Gambling / Re: WOWCasino.com | The #1 Crypto Casino on: March 11, 2022, 08:48:49 PM
Okay, having thoughts of what khaled0111 mentioned, I have tried to put "dns.google"[1] on Private DNS in my android phone and it works, but not the url from the OP which I guess something like bitly or a tracking URL for the clicks.

3020  Economy / Gambling / Re: WOWCasino.com | The #1 Crypto Casino on: March 11, 2022, 08:29:27 PM
Instead of blocking the range of ip address to access the site why not just dont let them be able to register or make something like an alert, Instead of blocking them to access the website?.
I don't think the problem is at their end. Most of the users who couldn't access the website are from the philippines which is not one of the restricted countries according to ToS. My guess is that the access to the casino is being blocked by ISPs, probably because of the word "casino" in the URL (dns filtering).

Can anyone confirm this by changing their DNS server to 8.8.8.8 (Google dns server) or 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare dns server) instead of the default one.

Upon the "guessing" logic, I can access these casino websites even having the word "casino" in their domain names

Websites searched from google.
Code:
7bitcasino.com
mbitcasino.com
bitcasino.io
So the guess isn't valid anymore. I still think that this is from their end, coz PH doesn't have a law or notice from NTC to ban these kind of websites.
