3001  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My friend got arrested in a p2p scam on: August 29, 2021, 03:43:02 AM
That's the real concern during buying or selling Bitcoin peer to peer. Actually, it's not possible to determine bank transactions either it has been coming from any suspicious sources. The only way is a peer-to-peer deal should be done with a trusted person and we should get help from an experienced person. Of course, user ratings and feedback are something that we should notice before do peer to peer deals on any platform. I have seen many stories like your friends, they caught in the same way as well. Better if you can build a peer-to-peer network among your country and area with a few trusted people. That's what we have and I sell this way. So there are less chances to catch this way.
3002  Economy / Speculation / Re: Dream Bitcoin 100k on: August 29, 2021, 03:20:39 AM
If you little struggle and use the search button then you may discover thousands of similar posts. For speculation, you might visit the Speculation board as well. Besides that, it's impossible to get an honest answer to your question. No one can predict when and what price will hit Bitcoin. You might just follow the trend. Otherwise, there are no absolute price targets within the time frame. Keep continuing taking advantage of the volatility.
3003  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can my wallet be deleted if I dont meet the terms of service? on: August 28, 2021, 01:03:55 PM
Thanks for your replies, I am going to take your guys' advice and look into getting a hardware wallet, my dad is also into crypto so I might be able to get a recommendation from him for a good hardware wallet. Thanks for the advice!
That's the right decision so far. Keep in mind, you should buy the hardware wallet from the official store. I am not sure what hardware wallet you are going to buy since you are going to take suggestions from your dad. So here are a few lists where you may compare wallets and you may find real sources to buy, [General] Bitcoin Wallets - Which, what, why?

Make sure the seed phrase isn't pre-generated and the device hasn't been used. Very carefully write your seed phrase and make sure you wrote the right seed phrase before making a deposit. You may try to recover your hardware wallet with your seed phrase to make sure you wrote the right one and everything working properly. Don't save your seed phrase in any machine either online or offline. Just write it on multiple pice of paper and keep safe multiple places as well.
3004  Economy / Reputation / Re: 5m*$0.01 isn't equal to $50k on: August 28, 2021, 12:46:35 PM
Ridiculous, but not surprising. Most likely they have been trying to mislead hunters. Because a newbies account running the campaign. You may ask the manager about that issues, if it's a mistake then fine. But I don't think it's a mistake. They wrote it intentionally. Let them correct if they admit mistakes. By the way, hunters never have enough time to read campaign threads, so blaming them is just useless.
3005  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake elon musk 5000 btc giveaway on: August 28, 2021, 04:09:57 AM
Here is another Elon fake giveaway site.

Code:
 https://getmusk.space/
Searched on the scam accusation seems that domain hasn't been listed here. Scammers always changing domain names with the same scam script. Just stay away from the scam.
3006  Other / Meta / Re: The forum culture is to kill all newbies? on: August 28, 2021, 02:53:12 AM
You are making the situation more worst. This isn't the right approach to defend yourself. It's a general behavior to creating a thread once we notice something suspicious. Suspicious means perhaps there is something wrong and not yet well-proven. So you may defend and explain it.

I am wondering why are you questioning forum culture? As far as I can see this forum is enough friendly for newbies. But yes, the forum isn't enough friendly for abusers and spammers. I am always quite soft with newbies and I notice most established users are soft as well. There will be always different thoughts, but for a few people, we shouldn't judge overall forum culture anyway.

Don't be aggressive by creating a lot of threads on the same topic. You weren't tagged nor even a single neutral tag I found on your profile. So please handle with care whatever issue you are facing.
3007  Economy / Reputation / Re: Everyone please look at my merit sending record. on: August 27, 2021, 06:51:27 PM
When someone accused you of something then you should defend in the same place or thread. And seems especially this thread is for Ratimov, so you should react to the allegation thread or explain it via PM. Here is freedom of speech, if someone notices something suspicious then they might create a post against you. That doesn't mean it's a personal attack. You may just defend yourself and explain the actual situation.

By the way, sending merit back to someone who sent you merits always wouldn't be a good decision. Merit only deserves the post, not the person. If a reputed person makes the worst post it doesn't mean he deserves merit. So we should always evaluate the post during sending merit.
3008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Addict on: August 27, 2021, 06:39:09 PM
I am not sure if it's addiction, but most likely I observe Bitcoin price at least ten times a day. If it's an addiction then yes, I am in Bitcoin addiction as well. Binance apps make it more easier to become addicted. Because I just open this app just to see the Bitcoin current price. If holding USDT just become happy when dumping price. If holding Bitcoin just become sad when Bitcoin starts to dump. Either dump or pumps I never miss visiting the price and chart. So that's how most likely I am Bitcoin addicted.
3009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will its price start being stabilized? on: August 27, 2021, 06:31:57 PM
It's not hard only to predict Bitcoin also quite impossible. Because who imagined back 10 years that Bitcoin would hit $60K+? If it's possible to predict then most likely small investors like us won't touch even a unit of Bitcoin. All whales are supposed to accumulate all. Here is the Bitcoin game start. We can't say when it will stabilize or never stabilize. We can't expect high volatility assets like Bitcoin will be stable anyway.

I don't know how long we should hold Bitcoin. But I just hold till I get some profit and when I need to liquid money. Everyone has different think and predictions, so the outcome will be different as well from Bitcoin. So don't wait to stabilize Bitcoin, accumulate as much you can and wait for the opportunity to getting advantage of volatility. That would be nice if you can make some money from volatility rather than wait for a very high price.
3010  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] My DeFi Pet Site Phishing - Beware!! on: August 27, 2021, 05:04:18 PM
To be honest the site domain itself looks scammy. Here is the problem understand about subdomain and main domain. I am not sure, but using the hyphen (-) wouldn't possibly create a subdomain under the main domain. Most of us don't know about that and that's why falling into the scam. If we can learn about this domain and extension or subdomain then we can save a lot. Scammers just want to take advantage of that. However, when an unauthorized site asks you to input a seed phrase means they are going to scam you. And all authorized sites should be a bookmark in your browser to avoid phishing attempts.
3011  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: personal income tax?? on: August 27, 2021, 04:51:31 PM
Here is an existing thread created against this scam site: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5355449.0

From there we notice that the scam platform requires a deposit in order to withdraw funds. That means it's totally a scam. Sorry to say your funds are gone. Cryptocurrency is irreversible, so there is no hope for you to get back your funds. I am just curious why have you chooses a scam exchange where many reputed exchanges exist? Just save it on your mind, any site that asked for a deposit to withdraw your funds they are a scammer. Doesn't require further investigation for that.
3012  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Fake exchange scam in a kind of Ponzi scheme and high yield return on: August 26, 2021, 06:13:03 PM
To be honest most newbies don't know how Bitcoin wallet works. Even when I was a newbie I made the same mistakes. I thought only a Bitcoin wallet is like a coinbase or blockchain. I wasn't aware of custodial or non-custodial wallets. Even I wasn't aware what Ponzi scheme is. So hope this post will help newbies like helped me previously to understand about wallet and Ponzi scheme. I learned from the forum nothing is free in the world. So we should change our greedy behavior to avoid such as the Ponzi scheme. And we must learn where should store our funds. It's an important part of crypto.
3013  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Future vs Spot Trading on: August 26, 2021, 05:41:48 PM
I am just wondering if you can't make money from spot trading then how would you believe you will be able to make money from future trading? You can't make a profit from spot trading you aren't experienced much about cryptocurrency trading. I am not much familiar with future trading but I believe only a more experienced person has been doing future trade those are well familiar with crypto movements. Future means just take advantage of the volatility, so it depends on how accurate a trader's prediction is. So, think twice before you do future trading. My suggestion is just to learn more about volatility before start it.
3014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If bitcoin go high the poor will not participate on: August 26, 2021, 03:05:31 AM
It's not true poor can't buy if the price goes up. But you are right, they will not buy. Here is the difference, can't buy and will not buy is different things. Those who are familiar with Bitcoin know-how are it possible. Since there is a Bitcoin unit called a satoshi, means a poor guy would buy a lower amount as they want. But depends on their faith in Bitcoin. Once the Bitcoin price will higher, then a dump fear will work. So most likely that's why poor guys will not buy. But technically or financially, they can't always afford to buy small amounts. It's just a matter of interest.
3015  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Bitcoin from Electrum Wallet to Kraken lost on: August 25, 2021, 05:07:29 PM
Again, thanks for all of the assist and advice.  I'll have to look deeper into how to move bitcoins before I attempt anything again.
Good to hear the fund hasn't gone and you discovered it in your wallet. Just curious, have you been using the latest version of Electrum wallet? If not then please use the latest version from the original website www.electrum.org. the latest release is Electrum-4.1.5.

However, just learn better how should you move the funds from Electrum and make sure during copy-paste wallet address. Sometimes attackers hack the clipboard to hack the wallet. If still you are getting problems please share with the community before happening any incident.
3016  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAMMER ALERT @Brand0n on: August 25, 2021, 04:35:30 PM
First of all, don't deal outside the forum. Don't chat in third-party apps like Telegram regarding transaction requirements. Always ask for transaction details in the forum message. The second thing is when you complete the discussion and get payment details then look for a trusted escrow service on the forum and share the details. If the escrow person agrees to do the deal then proceed. Although there is a required small fee at least you will not lose the fund. I know $30 isn't a big deal for you, but the amount would be big as well once a time. So good practice would help you to prevent scams.

Hope others would take a lesson from your thread.

3018  Other / Meta / Re: Are Administrators/Moderators and Staff members useless? on: August 25, 2021, 01:06:55 PM
Why would staff be any better? If we were given the ability to moderate feedback then you'd likely just be complaining about us instead. Besides, you only have neutral feedback.
Second that. That's what came to my mind when I read the post. The blame will never be ended even if it moderate by the administration or staff.

By the way, everyone could leave feedback as they want and it's a right as a member of the forum. But only feedback will be visible left by default trust members. And default trust members aren't the same as a regular members. Default trusted members are voted by the community or selected by some other default trusted members. Means their feedback has value somehow. The feedback is either false or right, it will not prevent you from using the forum and you have the right to open a thread if you wrongly get feedback. The community has the right to remove someone from the default trusted list if they think your feedback is wrong. If the community doesn't respond on your reputation thread means your blame isn't valid. That's how feedback is controlled by the community, and it should be.
3019  Other / Meta / Re: Why is it restricted to post the recovery mail directly in the forum? on: August 25, 2021, 03:06:20 AM
I am not sure about theymos thoughts, but most probably he disables posting recovery emails because of preventing unsolicited or spam emails. Who really needs it definitely will discover this recovery mail to recover his account. But we know the habit of users especially newbies will send unsolicited and unnecessary emails to recovery mail. So for that reason recovery process would be slower. It's pretty easy to add a thread link than posting an email. Once you post thread links, banned users might read the actual procedure and requirements they need to submit. If you post the only email, then banned users might miss something which would lead to delay the recovery procedure.
3020  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is more than a forum on: August 24, 2021, 03:00:54 AM
I would agree with that as OP said. But first of all, I will consider this forum as a crypto academy where we have been learning about cryptocurrency from each other. We are here to share our knowledge and the best experience so that others can learn from us and we can learn from others. If anyone spends time here, no doubts day by day he/she can become a crypto expert. To become an established member here, we have to contribute to the forum. So try your best to concentrate on contributions.
