3001  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-23] Yellen sounds warning about ‘extremely inefficient’ bitcoin on: February 25, 2021, 02:31:15 AM

I agree with this woman on only two well-known points. One, Bitcoin is really inefficient in terms of how speed a transaction can be done at least compared to Visa or Mastercard and there can be a problem with network congestion plus increasing confirmation fees at a time when there is a big volume of transactions - these are the things that Bitcoin has to improve a lot. However, people are using Bitcoin not really as a money but as a store of value like the physical gold so maybe for now there is no major issue here. Two, the mining of Bitcoin is costing us a big chunk of energy, so there is a big challenge to find an alternative technology that can lower the power requirement. I am looking at Bitcoin as a work in progress therefore we should be prodding developers to be more creative and use their ingenuity to make Bitcoin more modern and more efficient.
3002  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-02-24 BlockFi Launching its Bitcoin Trust Fund to compete with Grayscale on: February 25, 2021, 02:15:53 AM

This is a good manifestation of the continuing trust and confidence slapped on Bitcoin by the people of BlockFi and their future clients. In the case this Bitcoin fund can be getting a good number of investors that can be a signal that the bullish state can certainly go on in 2021. I am sure that BlockFi is aware of the leadership position enjoyed by Grayscale, so maybe they got some good strategies at hand to get even a small fraction of the available market. So goodluck to BlockFi.
3003  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-24] T-Online.de: Bitcoin is at the beginning of a long journey on: February 25, 2021, 01:56:39 AM

As a store of value, it is just starting to be taken serious notice by many institutional investors and this in fact the big push for the current bullish state and the recent correction will soon be forgotten. As a currency or money, Bitcoin has yet to make a good impact with the global business. Hope that can be coming soon like Bitcoin being utilized by big merchants of one country to another to transact business...this scenario can be making a big difference in the adoption side though can also be a big threat to the dominance of the USA dollar if this can happen.
3004  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-02-25] Cryptocurrency is not legitimate money - CBN on: February 25, 2021, 01:43:01 AM

Nigeria’s central bank is doubling down on its anti-cryptocurrency stance. Godwin Emefiele, governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, has defended the apex bank’s decision to ban banks from servicing cryptocurrency exchanges in the country.

Appearing before a joint Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions; ICT and Cybercrime; and Capital Market, Emefiele remarked that the CBN ban was in the best interest of Nigerians.

"Cryptocurrency is not legitimate money. Cryptocurrency has no place in our monetary system at this time and cryptocurrency transactions should not be carried out through the Nigerian banking system.”

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/cryptocurrency-is-not-legitimate-money-says-nigeria-s-central-bank-governor

So it looks like Nigeria is really closing its door to the continuing proliferation of many cryptocurrencies in that country. This is sad for many crypto holders and enthusiasts within Nigeria since encashing cryptos can now be harder as banks are not anymore dealing with this business and can also be sad for scammers who are using cryptos for their schemes (though they can easily shift to other means and ways, anyway). However, this will never stop cryptocurrency at all since P2P trading can easily be done.

3005  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Case for a $10,000,000 Bitcoin on: February 24, 2021, 05:21:37 AM
A 10 million Bitcoin can be impossible viewing like it is right at this moment. Now, as to the future nobody can tell what can be. Maybe 20 years or 30 years from now when things are really so different we can be able to see BTC rising to as high as 10 million. However, judging based on other factors, I am not more inclined to think about this possibility, in case it can happen well and good, but I am not expecting it- in the first place I don't have a lot of Bitcoin stashed somewhere. Now, when this can happen we can then go back to that article and either laugh or cry.
3006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not serving its purpose ANYMORE transfer waiting 48hr even paid high on: February 24, 2021, 04:49:05 AM

This is one of the few things I really hate when there is a bull run or when there is a big volume of transactions in the network, there can be a big delay, and we are paying a hefty fee for the transaction. This is true with Bitcoin but also can be true with other platforms especially with Ethereum where a single transaction right now can cost you more or less from $50 - $100. This is certainly not what we expect why we are using cryptocurrency, we are supposed to be experiencing fast and cheap transfer - sadly this is not true as we speak. And there is no permanent solution for this as of now. No wonder that some are already discourages and not anymore convinced that the future of money is cryptocurrency, can you just imagine paying a coffee worth around $5 and yet paying trx fee of $20? That can be unbelievable and will certainly not be driving for more adoption though this can drive more players in the crypto mining sector and more speculations.
3007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Downtimes during Panic Trading will cause the next Crypto Market Crash on: February 24, 2021, 04:42:43 AM

There is no platform that has no problem. Whether that platform can be centralized or decentralized, there will always be instances when they can be down for a variety of reasons. Anyway, one of the many reasons why Binance is taking a big chunk of the cryptocurrency market is because it is quite easy to use and has a good reputation of rising from ashes of its own problems. When it was hacked, many assumed it can be its end but no -  just like the Phoenix it rose from its grave. I am sure that many are concern on its centralized nature but then again what matters most to me is that I can transact in there with fewer problems and lesser fees.
3008  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum 2.0 worth staking? on: February 23, 2021, 04:55:34 AM

As of now, I am not so excited with the staking opportunity of the Ethereum 2.0 though maybe if I have a lot of Ethereum just hiding somewhere, and I don't have any plan of converting them in the coming months maybe I can change my mind. Ethereum remains to be solid and has a potential to grow more despite the many challenges it is facing and despite the chorus of angry users of the network paying such very excruciating high gas fees.
3009  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin crashed below $48K, is the bull market in danger? on: February 23, 2021, 04:47:48 AM
I do consider this a very healthy correction and many people can use this as an opportunity to get into BTC or add more to what they already hold. No reason to get panic at all. We know this happened in the past and from time to time there can some dumps but the overall direction of Bitcoin remains the same...we are going to hit the $60K soon and right now the market is just gathering the power needed to get beyond that level. Of course, it can be so easy to get lost and just give up Bitcoin and then days from now we will just shock that it has gone parabolic again.
3010  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-02-09] Cointelegraph: Will Apple be the next company to adopt Bitcoin? on: February 23, 2021, 04:28:24 AM
I am not sure about this, but there are rumors regarding Apple Pay accepting Bitcoin as one of the funding methods. I guess they need to do that, if they want to stay in competition. Because PayPal has integrated Bitcoin in to its platform and that gives them an advantage. If the other payment processors such as Apple Pay stays away from cryptocurrency, then they will lose customers and PayPal will gain them.

In my view, this is the best scenario that most likely to happen as this does not require billions of investment on the part of Apple and integrating Bitcoin into what they already have can be a win-win situation with all the parties involved. Anyway, let's see if this speculation can really be a big reality sooner or later. Decision-making process in a big corporate environment like that may not come so fast especially that they don't have a similar figure like Elon Musk that can easily influence things to move fast.
3011  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-02-17 Long-Term Bitcoin ‘Hodlers’ hold 15% of Circulating BTC Supply on: February 23, 2021, 04:14:28 AM
This kind of news does make you wonder whether the HODLers will keep their coins even if the price soars further.  Those who were in early enough may be tempted if the price is so high that they could be rich just by selling or by taking profits.  If that starts to occur, there's a risk of a fall in BTC's value when dumping takes place. Another risk is that the new HODLers which make up that percentage are the ultra-rich like Elon Musk, who are capable of manipulating the market just through tweets and announcements.

Certainly, this is just one of some inherent risks with the Bitcoin market and there is nothing we can do it as it can also be true with other speculative assets in the market today. People who are holding a big amount of Bitcoin can be making a big impact on its price especially if they will decide to move their assets and convert into other form like cash or even other cryptos. However, with small holders we are on safer hands as most likely they will not be acting on unison at the same time. And with the bullish state of Bitcoin (of course, despite the 20% average pullback right now) more and more can decide to add to what they are already hiding which can hopefully produce more pressure for Bitcoin to rise up in price.
3012  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-02-17 - yahoo! - BTC to new highs, analysts warn about price sustainability on: February 23, 2021, 04:04:55 AM
"Analysts Warn" Great article start! Smiley But my question is when, with such a "rally", we will see a "ceiling" and when we will bury ourselves in it, how quickly and to what price values will bitcoin fall? After all, this is the main question that worries many people today.  Huh

And just like any asset openly traded, things can go where the sentiment of the people are. I mean the more that we are worrying when the fall after the rise then the more the chance that it can really happen. This can be likened to a self-fulfilling prophecy. Well, we can't blame many for expecting such a crash all because it happened before, like in 2018 where we enter the "winter" state of the whole cryptocurrency industry pushing many bad projects to the brink of death. At the back of our mind though we are hoping that will never happen again but in an open market nothing can be guaranteed.
3013  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-02-21 Insider - Americans are becoming increasingly bullish on crypto on: February 23, 2021, 03:50:24 AM

We are in the bullish state, so it would be easy for a critical number of people to be feeling so positive and safe with cryptocurrency especially on Bitcoin, however when the bears are taking over the same sentiment will surely be changed. And that is just a normal human perception and reaction. Still, there is no question that more and more people are getting aware with Bitcoin and crypto in general. Let's see if this can be leading to more merchants and business organizations adopting Bitcoin as a payment method since still up to now it is still making good inroads as a store of value and people are holding unto them as a speculative tool that can hopefully grow more in value.
3014  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Short term solid projects? on: February 21, 2021, 10:28:46 AM
Hey, what would you recommend to buy and keep for 6 months? I have BTC, ETH, Dash, Monero, Litecoin, Tezos.

Which altcoins do you recommend for few months?
$SFP. This project is building in BSC network, and has a very strong community. The IEO price is $0.1 and it is currently trading at $2.6 and I believe it could reach $ 5 in a few months

This is one I do agree. Some are really pushing the idea that soon it can go as high as $5 or even $10 considering that SFP is actually representing a real business and not just a coin or a token for speculative purposes. I do have a very little SFP from the airdrop and I decided to keep them maybe until the value can reach $10, beyond that it can be overvalued for me. Good luck to all holders of SFP.
3015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance Smart chain ( BSC) VS Ethereum (ERC-20) on: February 21, 2021, 05:22:59 AM
If the ETH developers are just making it happen as soon as possible before this bull run, fees wouldn't be a problem today. But you know what, even if ETH is on its development to 2.0 to solve a lot of things. People today won't think about its attributes with BSC as long as they pay the lowest fee that they can fee and save a lot from it. That's the important matter that's everyone thinking and just ignore the other attributes that you have shown.

All other attributes can be minimized if we are paying high gas fees like what Ethereum is currently charging. Ethereum has become like an inutile platform to me, they know the problem and may have been experienced it themselves, yet they are just staring at it offering no solid and time-bound assurance for all of us. I would gladly be transferring to BSC just for the lower fees, don't care if it is centralized or not. BSC is getting more popular every day and there can be more new projects using it.
3016  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Insane Gas Fees on: February 21, 2021, 05:17:59 AM
This is unbelievable, something must really be wrong to be charged with those astronomical gas fees to do a transfer of a digital asset under the Ethereum network. What can not be denied is the fact that Ethereum right now has become like a big insult to all of us crypto users and enthusiasts. Very insane and as of now nobody can say when this insanity gonna end up. Seems to me that we are dealing a very inefficient network in Ethereum and nobody can guarantee that Eth 2.0 can solve this problem by the time it is rolled out completely. No wonder a lot are asking if BSC should be the better choice compared to Ethereum.
3017  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: will Binance be the next Ethereum? on: February 21, 2021, 05:08:08 AM

Unless something dramatic and big can happen to affect the viability of Binance in its business and its blockchain network, I think there is really that possibility that BNB is going to go after the leadership of Ethereum in the world of altcoins. We have to admit that Ethereum remains to be bogged down by excruciating and unbelievable transaction fees for a cryptocurrency platform, something that is actually not so acceptable especially to small players just like me. Let this then be the biggest challenge to the people behind Ethereum...shape up or start facing the inundation from BNB, not to mention that Cardano, Dot are also coming up to challenge the overall leadership in altcoins.
3018  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If most of Bitcoin is owned by few it cannot be a store of wealth for all on: February 20, 2021, 04:25:20 AM
Bitcoin can be a good store of value but of course this is not for all people since not all people are gonna be interested with cryptocurrency. The same thing can be said with gold and even with stocks...not all people are holding stocks of Facebook or of Tesla. However, Bitcoin is open to all interested, but we can never force anyone to get involved with Bitcoin even if we have to distribute all Bitcoin equally to all people…eventually there will be some class of people that can own a big chunk of percentage with the asset. There can never be equality anywhere but what we have can be a fair opportunity for all. In the past, there are projects that touched on the idea of distributing cryptocurrency to all people but most of them are now 6 feet below the ground not able to take off the ground.
3019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a bubble? on: February 20, 2021, 04:19:18 AM
I love to play with bubble when I was just a kid decades ago and maybe if someone can play with me again then probably bubble will be giving me a lot of smiles and some measures of happiness...am a child inside you see. Now, of course, ascribing the bubble to Bitcoin can be a complex discussion as there can be many ideas, parameters and biases we can be bringing into it. For the past many years, Bitcoin has been called a bubble that will be bursting anytime but lo and behold it survived the test of time and beyond the criticism of many good-meaning and popular personalities - with some of them now already converted on our side. Personally, am not looking at Bitcoin like a bubble but something that can go up and can also go down in price according to the whims of the market...and this is quite true with any asset that is openly traded.
3020  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Breaks $51K, German Analyst Says ‘Looks As if Bitcoin Is Eating Gold’ on: February 20, 2021, 04:07:32 AM
There is no question that Bitcoin is going to be gobbling the real gold and this is because more and more institutional funds are coming in and which resulted in part to the waking up of the retail investors anywhere. Soon there can be a convergence of these two factors working so good for Bitcoin. While gold will always remain to be the best and one of the most stable store of value, the interest of many investors and traders are right now on cryptocurrency so many are leaving gold for the opportunity to make hot and fast cash in here. Nothing is surprising in here.
