As long as they're 3-pin fans, they will plug straight into the hub's fan output - that will run them at full speed. To run at roughly half speed (5V instead of 12V) you can solder them to the end of a USB cable and plug them into USB. But you could also use a Noctua low-noise adapter instead, that is usually shipped with them.

Keep in mind if they're 4-pin, you will need a PWM fan controller of any kind.

Noctua has its own PWM fan controller, and it's awesome. The NA-FC1, it works really well. You can connect multiple fans to it, runs off 12V, you can control the fans either with a PWM signal or by hand turning the knob, and it takes very little space:

It's really a cup to watch if you like soccer, Messi and Ronaldo are legends and it's probably the last opportunity to watch in a great level

But there's more players to play the last cup as a player:

  • Sergio Busquets, 34  - Spain
  • Sergio Ramos, 36 - Spain
  • Luis Suárez, 35 - Uruguay
  • Edinson Cavani, 35 - Uruguay
  • Luka Modric, 36 - Croatia
  • Thiago Silva, 37 - Brazil
  • Thomas Muller, 33 - Germany
  • Karim Benzema, 35 - France
  • Manuel Neuer, 36 - Germany

Wow, you're right. So many that I missed!.

I think it's the whole covid situation that made the last few years pass so quickly. I didn't realize that many players are so old now!
3003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: August 21, 2022, 09:25:18 AM
The conditions in this World Cup in Qatar can make a lot of difference for the European teams. Because we all know European teams are never used to playing in such conditions So suddenly adapting them to such conditions will be a very difficult matter However, Asian teams can do well in this World Cup. Because Asian teams are used to playing football regularly in such conditions. But hopefully as footballers are hard workers they will be able to adapt themselves to any situation.

These days the temperature in Europe is way hotter than what the temperature will be in Qatar for the world cup.

There has been 40+ degrees days in Europe while in Qatar it will probably be in the mid twenties.

Here some people became rich while many others failed to exploit the opportunity. We know someone bought a pizza with 10000 BTC. So they could not utilize that opportunity even though it was available to many at that time. Because they couldn't imagine that BTC could go to such a level.

That was laszlo, and he got those 10k bitcoins mining, so that pizza was basically for free. You were able to get 50 Bitcoins every few hours/days with a CPU back in the day. He also published the first GPU miner by the way.

And it's not like those were the only bitcoins he had. He continued to buy more pizzas with bitcoin after that initial one.

Can't wait to see the Qatar World Cup get underway. There will be a new euphoria from football lovers in my opinion. Because this World Cup will be a little different, because many star players may end their careers after this World Cup. In addition, there are a lot of young potential who will participate in this biggest football party. Maybe a new star will appear, I think so.

Who else is going to retire?, the ones that come to mind are Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

Maybe I'm missing some other ones?
3006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Van der Laan's desire to leave Bitcoin on: August 20, 2022, 01:54:38 AM
The article seems to have a need to put a person behind Bitcoin.

It seems that most people are more comfortable with something centralized, where there's one person in the end responsible for everything, like a president or CEO for example.

But Bitcoin is really decentralized, something that most people are not used to deal with in their life.
3007  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What your ideas about bitcoin adoption in the future? on: August 20, 2022, 01:11:20 AM

But there are a lot of counties where Bitcoin is not acceptable as legal currency. Even many people don't know about the Bitcoin at all. Illiteracy is a great curse for Bitcoin but people will adopt digital currency in future, it is almost sure.

As far as I know, as long as there are two people willing to exchange goods and services for Bitcoin, then they can do so, anywhere in the world. I don't see how something like that could be stopped.

Here is the updated schedule of the matches, with Qatar vs Ecuador starting one day earlier:

They moved that match basically because they wanted to have massive fireworks in the opening ceremony, and Qatar was playing too early in the day before.

No. Nothing, no surprises with Qatar, it is not in that line of surprise characteristics, this situation is similar to the 2010 World Cup when it was expected that South Africa would give some surprise or at least not be eliminated in the first phase, and it became the first host to not pass the phase, well at least Qatar will no longer have that reference.  Qatar lose 2 games for sure and maybe draw one, but surely they won't get past the initial phase.

Yeah, I agree.

In Qatar's group I'm pretty sure the The Netherlands and Ecuador will pass to the next stage. Qatar only has a chance to end in 3rd place in that group, competing with Senegal.

I don't see how Qatar could end up first or second in that group.
3010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin dump have any impact on gamblers ? on: August 18, 2022, 11:38:25 PM
This is the right time for the gambling sites to make good profit, because most of the gamblers doesn't change the gambling process. Some might change from usage in terms of USD, whereas the usage in terms of bitcoin still continues. This makes the spending to be high as the price of bitcoin is low. So, from an user perspective he/she losses small and the truth is different.

If the bets are in Bitcoin, I would guess that more people will bet, because it's cheaper to do so.

But I'm not sure if the casinos would increase their minimum bets if Bitcoin price goes too low.

Can you post the source of this list please?

In my opinion, England is not the second favorite to win

I would put:
1 - Brazil > France > Germany > Argentina > England > Spain
Only considering these six above, but I think I prefer to put Netherlands instead of Spain in sixth place

Obviously it's not 100% guaranteed to any os these 6 squads to win, but I don't see any other teams winning this cup, maybe Netherlands and Belgium. Portugal and Uruguai are strong but not at the point to win the cup.

Yeah, that makes sense to me.

I would also include The Netherlands as you say. I kinda want them to win this time, they usually are so close, the best they've gotten is second place a few times. This might be their chance to actually win it.

Yeah, Portugal with Cristiano Ronaldo will make some big advances, but not sure it will win the world cup. And Uruguay is always good, but I don't see them winning this time around.
3012  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own 1 Bitcoin? (2022 edition) on: August 18, 2022, 11:32:22 PM
Even 5 years ago, a whole bitcoin was available to everyone Two years ago, the middle class could afford it. Now it is a coin for wealthy people waiting for the times when this money will become for millionaires

That is a consequence of an asset that keeps rising in value over the long time.

The price in fiat will continue to increase, making your Bitcoin more valuable and scarcer over time.

More people will realize that they don't need a bank to use money, so they will want to get some Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a game changer.
3013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 18, 2022, 11:29:55 PM

Another fact is that people who's been here for quite a long time would quickly fill their bags when that happens. I have remembered there were still a lot of people who risks their money in hopes for Luna to pump back, but nah that's a no brainer as that alt died the moment it collapsed. However, Btc is most probably not going to drop that far. Number one reason would be the same reason as I have stated above.
In fact, right before Btc hits $10k, it would most probably bounce back  because just like what you said, DCAing is by far the most effective way in investing to Bitcoin.

The thing is that if you understand Bitcoin, and for some external reason the price is somehow very low for today's standards, then you would realize that it's a great opportunity to buy Bitcoin for cheap.

Bitcoin will continue to work as expected, yet there are constant attacks against it, and some of those attacks will include trying to manipulate its price.

At the end of the day, Bitcoin is simply the best money ever invented. If it's being sold at $1000 then that's just a sale.
3014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar - UEFA Qualifiers on: August 18, 2022, 11:23:58 PM

are you not wrong, I don't remember Qatar ever beating Ecuador in the 2018 world cup, even Ecuador was not plain at the 2018 World Cup which was held in Russia, as well as Qatar.
even qatar qualify automatically because they are the host of the 2022 world cup.
but ok.
this match is the opening match for the 2022 world cup. I think this match will be highly anticipated by the Qatari home fans themselves. Even so, Qatar will not easily beat Ecuador even though they benefit from competing in front of their own public, statistically Ecuador is better than Qatar.

The opening ceremony is probably going to be spectacular, the crowds are going to be there supporting their local team, but honestly, I don't think Qatar has any chances of winning against Ecuador.

In my mind the best result they can get would be a draw, probably 0 - 0.
3015  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How I Missed Out of a 10 Year Bitcoin Investment Plan on: August 18, 2022, 12:47:19 AM
my advice:

stop thinking what you would have done in the past, the past is gone, think about the present, bitcoin price will always be high and low, so buy low and sell high. thinking that I had to buy it in the past is a big mistake, what if the price never went up? if bitcoin was a failure? how could anyone imagine that the price would reach $40,000? there's just no way to have a crystal ball to guess this

I think that's a pretty good advice.

Thinking about the past only helps you to not make the same mistakes again, and can help you to shape your future goals.

But after that's done, then there's no point in continuing thinking about the past, it will just waste your time, and make you lose other opportunities in the present.

Argentina can go far, they need one more additional striker who can convert those chances and show up. I think that can be Julian Alvarez depending on what Pep does with him between July and November. And I am sure, they will give it their all to reach the finals and win the World Cup. At the end of the day, anything is really possible nowadays in this sport, especially after Madrid winning the Champions league, the best team doesn’t always win it all, so yeah Argentina definitely have a good shot, just like England, France, Brazil, Spain etc

Yeah, I agree. I would say there are about 4-6 teams that are very strong and will definitely clash between each other to get the world cup.

In my mind I'm thinking that it would be so great to see The Netherlands as the champions this time around, because they're so good but they've never actually won it, just 2nd place a few times.

You never know with football, they might just get lucky this time around.

Mate, these both teams were not in 2018 world cup, but they play a friendly match which won by Qatar due to few red cards which bring Ecuador play with nine men, and they were not able to handle this all and lost match by score of 4 - 3, and now we are talking about World Cup match which is going to play in Qatar after three months right now things are much different for both teams even many feeling Ecuador is very strong team still it is not easy match for anyone because we have all best teams from world and these all are here for win.

With Senegal is also very good, and they also can go through for next round because they outclass Poland in last world cup and play draw with Japan like this, we can expect good performance from them in this world cup as well.

Absolutely agree. There's no question in my mind that Ecuador will end up winning against Qatar in the inaugural match.

It won't be great for the hosts, but at the end of the day it's football and Ecuador is a better team, so they will probably end up winning.

The pre-game show is going to be spectacular it seems though...
3018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Problem Gambler Feels After Losing on: August 17, 2022, 11:55:23 PM
Maybe problem gamblers will feel it less in the long run. if you're a problem gambler it means you've lost significant amounts of money many times before, I think you'll eventually learn to deal with that, although of course you'll continue to feel it every time you lose money. Often there are immediate intentions to stop once and for all, but if you feel like gambling again the next few days, that promise is gone like snow in the sun. That is how it goes usually.

When money problems start to appear then I don't see how the gambler will feel less bad after losing money gambling, which, in the long run will always happen.

It's basically the same as any other addiction. It's a downwards spiral, every time it gets a bit worse.
3019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own 1 Bitcoin? (2022 edition) on: August 17, 2022, 11:48:32 PM
Isn't it normal that we live in a world where people may not be able to earn 20k dollars to invest? I mean, even in the USA the median wage was something like 60k to 80k I believe, that means quarter of a year's salary for many, and there are millions who earn less than that, and this is world's biggest economy as well, so even they can't.

And we are talking about billions upon billions of people, mostly in Asia, who do not earn 20k in a year, and probably earn more like 5-10k max, some who earn less than 5k a year. So, it is normal that people in the world may not have enough to get 1 bitcoin, doesn't sound like the reasonable thing to do at this point at all.

There are infinite ways of getting to own 1 bitcoin.

You're assuming only one of those, which is buying 1 bitcoin with fiat today, in 2022.

In 2009-2010 if you had a PC you could get 50 bitcoins for the cost of the electricity to power your PC for some hours/days.

Around that time also there were bitcoin fountains which gave multiple bitcoins just to play around with it. So you could have gotten it even for free.

But the thing is that the value of Bitcoin will continue to go up in the long term, so maybe we will see a similar question in the future phrased as "Do you own a million sats?", that is 1/100 of a Bitcoin.
3020  Economy / Speculation / Re: I do believe that Bitcoin will be more scarce than gold on: August 17, 2022, 11:38:04 PM
currently there are only about 2 million Bitcoins that have not been mined which means that very little is left of the 21 million supply and of course it will be increasingly difficult to mine it with a very small number of reward blocks, that's why bitcoins are rarer but unfortunately the price touched $20k is a very cheap price bitcoin should have remained at $60k as the lowest price figure

Bitcoin continues to work as expected though, more than a decade after genesis.

The price swings are just caused by many external factors, but fundamentally Bitcoin has never been stronger. And it will continue to get stronger every block.

The price in the long term will continue to rise, both because it's priced in fiat which loses purchasing power over time, and also because more and more people will want to get access to Bitcoin over the decades, but there's only a finite amount of it.
