What is the benefit of bitcoin core?

Bitcoin Core will signal support for and recognise SegWit enabled blocks, amongst other additions. Depending on your stance in the max block size issue, you might like to consider using one of the other many bitcoin clients such as https://www.bitcoinunlimited.info/ which supports bigger maximum block sizes as a solution to the full blocks we currently are experiencing.
What client you run has zero effect on what becomes the new standard which is determined by a majority of miners only. You're free to use whatever client you want though, it's like publicly showing your support for a political party but not having the right to vote...

i remember that merchants have an impact as well maybe not directly but they will influence miners decision, if for example the majority go with a specific side, either way at some point miners will be forced to do a decision...

Version 0.0.7 gives me 270-275 sol/s per GTX 1060 @ 100W each, almost 15% increase.
Thanks EWBF!

Power limit at 85% / core +180 / memory +540.
Almost the same with 0.0.8 (+/- 2%).

what about 55% power limit?

the freeminer(which is not the one from 2014 but another recent cuda revisit with cuda 8.0) is giving me roughly 600 hahs with a 1070, there is soemthign better out there?
Get 650 for gtx 1070 OC ( KlauT cuda 8.0 )

what version and setting you have i can't pass 600
Using latest released version from github. 2100 core + 4500 memory ( samsung ) latest driver

what is the name, mine is 103x64 cudas 80, i dunno if this is the last one, i have not found it on github...
3004  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX 470 are even cheaper now on: December 29, 2016, 10:41:09 AM
Now they are even more cheaper.

Rx 470 MSI only $150

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137050

Pretty much kills any good resell value of these 470 GPUs

i see $208 there...

3007  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is GTX 1070 a good GPU miner, and what coin would it be most efficient for? on: December 29, 2016, 06:52:04 AM
If you plan to buy it for mining than no. It would take too long to ROI. Nvidia cards are much more expensive for same performance. If you already have the card and don't care about ROI just want to mine a bit then it would be good

440 sols on ZEC @150W - "For the same performance" lol.

To answer the question - yes the gtx 1070 is good for mining. At the moment mine ZEC.

Look at price and performance of amd cards. RX 470 and RX 480 are much better at price/performance ratio. Please ask yourself if Nvidia cards are actually better for mining why great majority still buy amd cards ?

I agree for ETH, but this does not apply for ZEC anymore with the recent nvidia miners. Not to mention that we can expect even more increase of performance.

Looking at long term everyone see ZEC as coin that is failing and will eventually fail. In my mind there is no point in investing at something like that (buying gear that is good for that only)

a 1070 is better at lbry too and vertcoin, spread etc...where amd is bad there or you need private expensive miner, etherum is also dying so no point in buying amd for that only

uh? how can they are better at zec if one 470 is doing 200 sol against a 1070 that can reach 400 sol?

real number at the same wattage are 200 sol vs 380 sol at 90-100watt, but i would always prefer something that can give me good density like a 1070 than something that will do the same job with double the numbers of rig
3011  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Place for your mining rigs on: December 28, 2016, 09:58:03 AM
what if someone want to buy one of your rig? how much would you sell it?

assuming your rig are 6 x 470 and mining zcash they are doing , $170 a month net profit right?

so around 10 months roi

right now paying to you more than 10% plus the electricity cost would kill the point of hosting

because at every 10% added it's like paying 3-4 cent more for electricity

I do not think the net profit is $170 for the rig.

1400 sol give you roughlty 0.21 btc months, minus electricity is around $170

btc price is very high now almost 1k

what is your speed on a 1070 on monero, sp?
3015  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any CPU mineable coin that it is profitable? on: December 28, 2016, 06:57:28 AM
monero is once again profitable, just mine that, a 470 can do 850hash with proper miner, it's the best choice for now
