3021  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: November 04, 2019, 07:45:46 AM
It is likely a new hot trend from scammer. Youtube does not fastly response to scam reports from community but this is the username of that scam channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/thehotgeek
You can search with the keyword: thehotgeek.

If you check, you will see 12/14 videos on that channel are non-crypto things, only two of them relate to crypto and for scam purpose.

I don't know that Youtube does not care about scam reports at all or they just lately response and handle scam reports. Let's see how long it takes till the Youtube takes action about that channel. In the meantime, don't send your ETH to that fake address.
3022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: November 04, 2019, 07:36:25 AM
I am not so sure. I see at least four faster and cheaper coins in the top 10 which I have used and know for sure about it.

There are still a few I have never used for transfers so far like Stellar, Eos or Tether, but I assume the last one is not a concurrence for Litecoin.

So, there are many concurrence in the top 10 for LTC, when it goes to cheap and fast transfers.

At the end of 2017 during the bubble and especially at the pick of the bubble, LTC was widely used because it was one of the cheapest coins and exactly as you said, with enough liquidity because LTC is listed on all exchanges, but this situation changed significantly in the last year. All these other coins are also already listed on every big exchange and keep the pressure on LTC.

Lately, I personally started also to choose other coins to transfer between exchanges because fees are also lower for many of them and when we add that they are additionally cheaper in transfer and faster, then this is no-brainer anymore.
Most of time, at same speed rate of transactions, if one coin (A) has lower price than another coin (B), the transaction fee at same amount of money to move with coin A will mostly be much cheaper than coin B's transaction.

Recent months, especially since the mid of 2018, blockchain technology has evolved significantly and transaction's fees become much cheaper while transaction speeds become much faster. In my perspective, it does not a problem to wait for 5 or ten minutes to get finished transactions between exchanges/ platforms and I see there are so many coins satisfy that need of crypto enthusiasts nowadays.
3023  Economy / Reputation / Re: crypto-bridge.org KYC scam ! on: November 04, 2019, 07:30:35 AM
I have some coins on the Crpyto Bridge exchange too. To be honest with you all, I extremely dissapointed on the way they announced KYC and mandatorily required all of their customers to do KYCs without any period to withdraw coins out of the Crypto Bridge without KYCs.

On other exchanges, they usually allow their customers a fixed period to withdraw money without KYCs, after the deadline of non-KYC withdrawals all customers have to do and surpass KYCs to withdraw money.

There is another messy thing on Crypto Bridge's KYC requirements: proof of address.
They ask for proof of address with the maximum period to be valid is: 3 months.
Quote
a proof of your address which was issued within the past 3 months.
This requirement is a strange one, that I disagreed with them. It takes a lot of time to do this, why I have to go to banks and make transactions just to get a valid proof of address for them?
Passport, driving license are not enough for them, OMG!
3024  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phishing email ask me to install or update brave browser. on: November 01, 2019, 12:59:26 PM
Don't rely on emails to get updates for browser platforms, wallets or anything. Of course, email serves its roles as mean to receive announcements for upgrades or important things with exchange account.

But people have to visit official websites of wallets, exchanges, services to check that there are real upgrades from those platforms as receiving email mentions or not. If not, it is phishing attacks, and they will know what to do.

There are people who often instantly click on link provided in emails to download, install, upgrade. They are very vulnerable to phishing attacks by that bad habit.
3025  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: November 01, 2019, 12:43:19 PM
Any accusation like fraud, dangerous will not kill Monero. Over years, Monero will become stronger and more favorite by crypto enthusiasts, especially among privacy-maniac crypto users. I agree that such news (negatively) usually have bad effects on price, in short term. Fortunately, in long term, price is not affected, and Monero has its powerful to survive thoroughly such types of attacks.

This year is a tough one for altcoins but good altcoins have all survived very well so far, and they have all rallied considerably last three months. In my perspective, next two years will be great ones for altcoins and honestly I expect as nearly same exponential growths for altcoins as the year of 2017.
3026  Other / Meta / Re: "Merit summary" page improvement proposal on: November 01, 2019, 12:35:44 PM
1) The total amount of merit sent/received in the last 120 days should be displayed on the same raw after "Sent in the last 120 days"/"Received in the last 120 days" in parentheses;
This is what I agree with.
Sent in the last 120 days: 20
Received in the last 120 days: 100

or
Sent in the last 120 days (20)
Received in the last 120 days (100)
Quote
2) A mini sMerit rank system will make the Merit system/Merit page more interactive and maybe the users hoarding sMerits will also have a reason to use them (not that now they don't have any reason);
The sMerit mini-rank system can be based simply on some stars from 1 to 5 (*, **, ***, ****, *****) near the name (showed only in the Merit summary page) or more interactive with rank names such as: ("hoarder", "skimpy", "dutiful", "sumptuous", "philanthropist") in parentheses or maybe both if another raw "sMerit rank" is added under "Merit: xxx" which by the way, can be changed to "Total merit: xxx".
I think this can be easy implemented since the calculation is very simple (the percentage of sent merit/half received merit in the last 120 days).
It is very complicated, like @Deathwing wrote.
I have one more point to add and to show why I disagree with this one. All users have rights to hoard their sMerits if they want. Therefore, the term mini-rank system is not needed. In reality, the term is incorrect too. Merit system is very different from rank system so it does not make sense to add a new mini-rank system based on smerits.
The percentage of merit earned/ merit sent is available on BPIP (but for the whole history of users, not for last 120 days).
Having available sMerits of each users might raise some annoying things for them. Merit beggars might spend more time to make replies to posts of users who have significant sMerits.
Quote
3) At the page bottom (after all the stats) a link pointing to the user's https://bpip.org/ profile for more stats, would also be nice.
BPIP is not official page of the forum, it is a third-party website, built by @Vod. I don't think admin will add link to third-party website for basic stats of the forum.
Let's imagine what happens if BPIP shuts down/ crashes or compromised, something like that.
3027  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: do you think most people reads on the forum?? on: November 01, 2019, 05:52:03 AM
There are two more things that shitposters tend to ignore (not read) before posting:
- Day of last post inside topic they visit and have intention to post.
- Warning message of the forum whenever they click on Reply on long-inactive topics.
Consequently, I remind posters to pay their attention on last posting day and warning message before making their posts.
3028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BEAM | Mimblewimble | Private | Scalable | No ICO | No Pre Mine on: November 01, 2019, 05:40:30 AM
I don't think a cryptocurrency should ever get into exchanges like Binance before it gets strong enough and creates its own whales.

If not, the result can be bad.
It is always right to see price corrected dramatically after exponential pumps to overvalued price. Bitcoin, Ethereum, DASH, Monero and more good crytocurrency have to correct after hit their all time high, no matter which exchanges list them.

I don't call Binance is the root cause of BEAM's decreases over recent months. The coin has decreased so far as rule of supply & demand that also supports by necessary corrections. Corrections are necessary things to help price moving upwards again. No coin can rise without falls.
3029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend - online since 2014 [ Core 0.17 soon] on: November 01, 2019, 05:11:28 AM
LimxDev is not active in the forum and Telegram, this is a bad news for BSD holders.
This is incorrect because the last active day of LimxDev in the forum is around one week ago (on October 26, 2019, 10:58:38 AM, less than one week ago). I see him usually log in his account and visit the forum, not daily but usually. If he actually abandon the project, he will do not log in account that way and in my opinion, this is one of positive thing that we can expect more things from LimxDev and BitSend project.

If he planned to abandon the project, he would have not made ban appeal months ago, in my opinion that is another good thing to keep our belief on future of Bitsend.

Two above things are probably last lights that we might see at the end of tunnel but no one can guarentee it without reappearance of LimxDev.
3030  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: November 01, 2019, 05:00:15 AM
I believe it will all depend on how famous GRIN can get.
With the inflation being forever stable, we can't hope for the inflation to fall low enough to reach a level which can be supported by the community's interest level.
Inflation can be changed by developers as what we see from Stellar with their annoucement released recent days. Amazingly, let's look at Stellar price today. It has been pumped more than 10 percent temporarily. At its peak today, its price in realilty increased more than 13 percent.

Despite the unknown plan (or no plan at all) on inflation of Grincoin team, I think price is below 10k satoshis is very good to accumulate Grincoin.
3031  Other / Meta / Re: [TIPS] to avoid plagiarism on: October 31, 2019, 04:51:59 PM
Once again, I bump it to help you guys understand about the forum rules on plagiarism better.

Days ago, I also saw one user was banned because stealing banner designs of BitVest (Ban appeal is there: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5196114.0). I don't know that one will be called as plagiarism or not but at least from that case we know anyone who steal others' stuffs (documents, posts, banners, and more) will be banned when found.

Be careful, stay away from plagiarism, respect forum rules and others' works, just to be safe.
3032  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: October 31, 2019, 04:46:50 PM
The Grincoin price has fallen over months, and now it stays around 10k satoshis. As theymos predicted at very weeks after Grincoin born, its price fell within its first year, and now we see Grincoin has been unsignificantly fluctuated about 10k satoshis. The range of price is good enough for accumulators, IMO.

What do you think about the temporary price of Grin coin and what do you think about future rally and growth of Grincoin?
3033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BEAM | Mimblewimble | Private | Scalable | No ICO | No Pre Mine on: October 30, 2019, 09:27:10 AM
What a great morning! We start this day with our latest release, Beam Wallet iOS 3.1 Clear Cathode. Enjoy Beamers! https://medium.com/beam-mw/clear-cathode-3-1-ios-release-notes-c4cc26d8e397
The newest upgrade for iOS, with the version 3.1, is another upgrade that shows the very strong dedication of BEAM team to develop this project. I believe that if the BEAM team maintain their good development and upgrade pace, the project will grow very fastly at the speed of light. BEAM will sooner or later shine as bunches beam of light.

3035  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Electrum wallet - Update safely and avoid phishing wallets? on: October 29, 2019, 04:10:18 PM
Nice info but a normal user of electrum wallet usually do the simplest way to update the software without checking the authenticity of it especially if the process is a little bit techy like verifying the GPG signatures that needs another 3rd party software like Gpg4win on windows, Is there any other way to verify our electrum wallet besides stated above?
I think it is easy to follow those steps to verify wallet. Nothing is easy for the first time, even installing Windows, so people have to try hard for the first time.

Verifying Electrum wallet after downloading it from official website is secondary protection from phishing attempts.

I want to re-emphasize that people should never upgrade their Electrum wallet (or other wallets too) by using direct link given in their wallets. Wallets might give warning message that there is new version and ask for upgrade but people (after seeing such wallet upgrade warnings) should visit to official websites to check that there is actually new version or not. If there is new version (on official websites), they can start to download.

After downloading, they can move further by verifying wallets, but I think if they download from official websites, they will be nearly free from phishing attempts. They should do verify, nevertheless, just to be recheck and to be safer.

Relates to official websites, they should not search from Google. Instead of searching, they should remember exactly website address or note those sites on their own ways. Bookmarking on web browsers can be compromised too.

3036  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend - online since 2014 [ Core 0.17 soon] on: October 29, 2019, 09:54:13 AM
So, we still don't know anything. To be honest no answer is also an answer  Wink.

As I said before, Limix dev knows exactly what is going on with the Bitsend project and just seems to not care anymore.

Sorry to say this, but I just share my honest opinion about this situation.

If nothing changes soon then I am sure Bitsend will be delisted even from these shitty exchanges is still listed on and this will be the end of this project.

Never thought that Limix dev will abandon Bitsend after so many announcements that the development will be continued, despite his involvement in Bitcore and other projects.

Where are you Limix Dev? Do you accept so easily the end of Bitsend and will give up without a fight?
It is too soon to make a conclusion that Limx Tec team abandoned Bitsend, BitCloud, and some other projects but it is not too early to have negatively feelings on potential growth of those projects. Such type of negative thoughts are unavoidable which mainly come from so many questions from community and lack of activities, replies from the team during latest months.

It is abnormal to see inactivitity and replies when market definitely recovered this month.

Optimistically, crypto market always tends to do amazingly unexpected things for us, so let's stay positively and wait for sudden blast out from Bitsend.  Smiley
3037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CLAM] CLAMs, Proof-Of-Chain, Proof-Of-Working-Stake, a.k.a. "Clamcoin" on: October 29, 2019, 09:22:34 AM
At least we can have a quick conclusion that the delist from Poloniex is not the end of CLAM. I have never thought it is the end of CLAM, and recent achievements during recent tough period mean a lot of sense for CLAM, the project and investors as well.

CLAM price will do rally impressively from bottom, which reached mostly by shit delist from Poloniex. Moreover, I even have waited for more positive things for CLAM in coming weeks. I am not sure what actually is going on behind the scene but I do believe in CLAM.
3038  Other / Meta / Re: Some good users awakened by Yobit on: October 28, 2019, 11:27:00 AM
I was not awakened by Yobit but I think that I have not yet increased my posting intensity after joining Cryptotalk campaign. Moreover, I do think my post has acceptable good quality.

OP made good works to point out the fact that there are good users joined Cryptotalk campaign, but just a minor part of total participants -- that is what I agree.
3039  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ✅[ANN] DeepOnion ONION New Private Currency ✅ Own ONION Now & Discover Privacy ✅ on: October 16, 2019, 05:40:21 PM

I have more interest from the chart, that gives me feeling that Onion can rocket anytime from now. Recent weeks, lots of altcoins woke up and rocketed with very similar chart pattern. This time, I think Onion will be able to do this, and the current matter is just when the coin will do this.

In my opinion, ONION is much better than lots of other altcoin projects, which already abandoned by their team, and their team members don't care to actively communicate with their communities in their ANN threads. ONION team have still actively communicated with communities and developed behind the scene.
3040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ☑☑☑[ANN][BSD] BitSend - online since 2014 [ Core 0.17 soon] on: October 13, 2019, 11:57:57 AM
During a very long period in bearish market last year, Bitsend still had very good liquidity. I had a belief months ago that when the crypto market recovers from bottoms, Bitsend would have been one of the most impressive rallying altcoins. Unfortunately, by now it is obviously that Bitsend has neither yet impressively rallied nor rocketed. In contrast, its liquidity decreased unexpectedly, IMO.

Honestly, I just waited for my chance to invest in Bitsend, but latest months, looking at liquidity, I highly hesitated to do this and gave up my initial plans. I don't say negatively about Bitsend, but the team should reply to community questions, and actively communicate with community better.
