Does anyone know if there's any way to check unit operating temp? I've replaced the stock fan on my tube with 2 x Corsair high performance fans because of the noise and it has reduced hugely, but they don't seem to be moving as much air through as the stock fan. I obviously don't want to damage anything by overheating, I'm running it @270 for now until I know its not overheating.
Thermal/IR hand held heat sensor Thank you I'll add one to my shopping list

If some of chips are going off or there is performance drop unit is overheating. if all is hashing stable probably thoose fans are enough. you can measure temp by laser pointer also. Thank you all chips working fine and no drop in performance after a few hours so fingers crossed its ok

Is there any way of telling operating temperature of these do you know? I can't see it in software stats anywhere.
No that's why you have to be careful, BE200s don't have onboard thermal sensors. Ok thanks I thought that might have been the case.

If you're having trouble understanding how it works, try this explanation I just came up with Pick an enonce and a merkle, some other info and a hash. Use some transfer USBuckets, watch the ASIC give a bash. Random microeons for a nonce of Bitcoin cash. Grab that payout, then on the town, for a well earned party splash. Thats just confused me even more thanks for the nice rhyme though

So with solo mining does your miner pick a random unsolved block and try to solve some mathematical equation? Same as with pooled mining but you keep most of the reward?
Close... We're always trying to solve the same unsolved block with different random data with a mathematical function in order to generate a block worth of bitcoin into a particular address, usually the pool's address. In this special pool variant you're actually trying to generate the bitcoin into your own address (hence why you have to use a bitcoin address as your username). Ok great thank you I get it a bit more now, so every pool worker and solo miner around the world is trying to solve the same block at the same time ?

You need to prove you have what you're trying to sell, new account selling expensive gear with no proof only sets alarm bells ringing. Using escrow as mentioned is also an absolute must.

just purchesed 2 Bitmain Antminer S2 1000 GH/s Bitcoin Miner for 1000
At least you've made more than 1 post That's not a bad purchase although I understand the S2 can be a bit problematic. I'd recommend you check out Dogies setup thread on the S2 here if you haven't already: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=518205. Good luck

Hey dogie great guide as always Did anyone manage to find quieter fans for these? The standard one on my tube is driving me nuts Quietening kit. Same for the Prisma as well. Thank you very much . Do you recommend one on the front of each tube in place of the standard fan or both on one tube front and rear? You might *just* be able to get away with one if you have a cold ambient but its really pushing it. I'd recommend two (one front one back), you'll get similar airflow but an acceptable, lower pitched noise. That's great thanks very much, I've ordered what you recommended ( from ebay though as I had some paypal funds to use up ). I'll let you know how I get on with them.

Read some other posts on here in this section asking the exact same questions, you will find your answers . You're right this has been covered a lot already. Sorry to be blunt but loads of new users come on here asking this question, people go to the trouble of replying sometimes in great detail and they never return. Not saying you're going to do that.

Escrow is to protect buyer and seller. Buyer sends funds to trusted escrow, seller sends item(s) to buyer, when buyer receives items and they are as described in selling thread they tell escrow to release the funds to seller. Simple as that really.

Just pointed my asicminer tube here, fingers crosssed . Does anyone know if anyone's found a block yet through this pool? Make sure you're pointing it at the tube pool instance which is port 3334. 2 blocks have been found by regular miners on this pool. Thank you, yes using port 3334 {"hashrate1m": "1.05T", "hashrate5m": "899G", "hashrate1hr": "411G", "hashrate1d": "22.9G", "hashrate7d": "3.32G", "workers": 1} My stats are showing as a little high, not sure why that might be. My tube software says speed about 800 GH/s, stats page showing about 1 TH/s. EDIT: Stats are showing correctly now must have just been a bit high for first half an hour or so. That's good 2 blocks have been found, hopefully I'll bring the pool some luck .
