3021  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are you holding Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2019, 10:41:28 PM
I hold bitcoins until the Bitcoin price rises to $50,000. I remain optimistic Bitcoin is resistant to the fore. In addition, Bitcoin approached halving 2020. The price will automatically rise higher.
You are very optimistic with the hope that the price of bitcoin will rise to 50k, if you can hold bitcoin up to that price and will not sell it until you get the target, wow you are extremely patient. I personally can't do that because the expectations are too high, but if holding bitcoin until the price touches 20k, I can do that.
and by the way, it's not automatically the price will go up higher just because of halving bitcoin in 2020, I'm sure there will be a process for several months after halving occurs, well after that maybe the price will rise.

Shouldn't we all be optimistic? We all know that the big resistance level for Bitcoin is 10 thousand  and then it's almost no resistance up until 20.
Being at 10 is not a big deal. 50 is nothing more than 5 times that.

If we look at previous rallies it was normal for Bitcoin to go up by 500%. In 2013 it went from 200 to 1100 in 20 days. Then from 4000 to 20 thousand in 3 months.
50 is just a number.
3022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does crypto help to diversify your investment portfolio? on: December 01, 2019, 10:31:07 PM
I'm not a traditional investor so it doesn't help me to diversify. I only have my apartment, some fiat and some cryptocurrencies.

I'm not going to diversify by buying into stocks. I invest in what I know and understand and at this time its real estate and Bitcoin.
Stock market doesn't look attractive at this time and there's a high risk or recession. Many traditional investors would laugh at me but I find Bitcoin to be a very safe investment when my choices are between stocks, bonds, fiat currencies and real estate.
3023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, What did you buy with your bitcoins on Black Friday? on: December 01, 2019, 10:14:29 PM
Bro, just acknowledge you said something stupid and be done with it.
Nobody asked you to buy a brand new car, tv or anything else, the discussion was about purchasing things with bitcoins.
And in your first post you never touched the products not available thing, the only thing you cared about was your precious bitcoins that will be worth 666% more once the bear market is over.
Ok I guess giving examples doesn't work for you so I'll be as non specific as possible.

I was answering this part:
why not just sell your fiat to get the bitcoins and then buy what you need with the bitcoins instead of buying it with fiat

It's impossible and it's inefficient.

I cannot buy the things I need with my bitcoins because the things I need are unavailable or cost 20% premium in places that do accept Bitcoin.
I also think that selling in the bear market is inefficient and I stand by it.

Simple enough for stompix?
3024  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of your money only needed for gambling and others is for family on: December 01, 2019, 09:47:42 PM
All of it is needed for gambling because I don't have a family.

Of course it's important to be in control but in my case it's not to make sure my family is ok but for myself. I know how much I need to pay the bills and how much I can spend. I'm rather a careful spender and always manage to save up a bit, invest some, pay my bills and gamble.
3025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Preparing for a recession... Gold or Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2019, 09:37:22 PM
Gold all the way. Gold is timeless.

It used to be popular but all things come to an end.

Gold is timeless but will it be worth as much 20 years from now as it is now? It's enough for it to lose 20% and you will be in trouble and it can lose 10% in 10 years. Bitcoin could gain 1000% in 10 years.

My choice will always be bitcoin. I don't even own gold. You can buy fake one with tungsten so it's risky and Bitcoin is always genuine.
3026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, What did you buy with your bitcoins on Black Friday? on: December 01, 2019, 09:19:04 PM
I agree with you and I do not understand why not to spend bitcoins? It is a payment process why not just sell your fiat to get the bitcoins and then buy what you need with the bitcoins instead of buying it with fiat. Isn't that the point?

Do you really want me to explain why your idea is not going to work?

Hypothetical situation, I want to buy a new TV or a new car and you propose that I buy bitcoins with my fiat and then what? There are almost no places that would allow me to shop but even if there are some they usually are the expensive ones. A simple Honda or Ford will not offer you this option. The ones that do are exotic dealerships where prices begin with 50 thousand dollars. If you're looking for a used car for Bitcoin it's even harder.

Most people want to buy something as cheap as possible and they won't pay 20% more to prove a point and spend their bitcoins.

3027  Economy / Economics / Re: Future without Middle men big way, but big Question? on: December 01, 2019, 06:25:58 PM
The banks will still be there! Don't get fooled by the fear mongers.

Sure, Bitcoin is the future but you also have countries and their fiat money held by national banks. They won't give it up and become decentralized because every government is centralized in its nature. Even if some small private banks go out of business and we have a financial revolution the national banks will become the middle men allowing people to exchange between fiat and crypto.
3028  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: China is Crushing The U.S. in Blockchain Adoption on: December 01, 2019, 05:57:46 PM
China is unstable in their policies. One day they want something and the other they they ban it. How can you praise such country?

If they adopt it for a year and then ban it like they did with exchanges in 2014 they will do much worse for the industry than if they never touched it.

Also how can a country that is banning exchanges and once threatened to ban mining a good thing for cryptocurrencies? They aren't beating the USA at all.
3029  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Bottom Has Passed, Delphi Digital Says on: December 01, 2019, 05:41:26 PM
This was proven to be a very weak area of support. We are now below 7400 that you were describing as bullish area.
Most people will now prefer to wait it out because going back to 7k is very much a possibility now after failing to reach 8k and then again failing to hold 7400.

By the looks of it people are trying to keep price low before the halving. I don't expect any big moves up before the new year.
3030  Economy / Speculation / Re: Should I Buy Bitcoin Now? on: December 01, 2019, 05:34:26 PM
The price of Bitcoin is currently low so you better take advantage of it. Every market situation is an opportunity for us to gain a good profit. Applying the basics could really help us earn by dealing with the changes in the market. Bitcoin could possibly rise again soon because of the upcoming events so you better grab the chance to buy now.

Are you sure about that? The "all knowing fractal" tells a different story Cheesy
https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/11/30/bitcoin-fractal-predicted-drop-6600-btc-fall-20/

You can believe it or not but there's no one theory about the price of Bitcoin.

If you already have some bitcoins wait for it to play out. If not buy some and wait before buying more.
3031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you stake? Exchange or wallet? on: November 30, 2019, 10:53:14 PM
I used to stake using my wallet but it was hard to keep it all up to date when you have more than 2 different altcoins.

There are services that I'm testing like staked.us and mycointainer.com which allow you to stack multiple coins at the same time.
The downside is centralization but the upside is they are updating everything for you.
3032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This is big news for Germany Bitcoiners out there! on: November 30, 2019, 10:41:11 PM
It's a good thing because banks now will be allowed to store your crypto for you but we could also say that it's a pointless law because it goes against the purpose of cryptocurrencies.

Placing your cryptocurrencies under the custody of banks makes them useless because it takes away the two best things cryptocurrencies carry: decentralization and anonymity. Now all your bitcoins are useless because they are held by a bank just like fiat and can be seized just like fiat.
3033  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Just a question on: November 30, 2019, 10:10:42 PM
Most CEX users are traders who need liquidity and people who buy and hold don't worry about the possibility of being hacked because they have their coins on CEX for maybe 10 minutes.

An average trader will not leave CEX for DEX because it won't work for him. He needs everything to happen fast. An average buyer will see that most people are using CEX and go there. A hodler will do the same. He'll send fiat to CEX which is completely safe and then do a fast trade and withdraw. Most exchanges send your money almost instantly so there's no time for you to get hacked.
3034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, What did you buy with your bitcoins on Black Friday? on: November 30, 2019, 09:58:42 PM
I didn't buy anything with my bitcoins. I'm not going to spend them now when we are in a bear market. I'll think about it when we at least go above 50% of all time high. Now when we are at 40% it's just a waste of money if we sell.

I spent some of my fiat on black friday merchandise. One of the things that I bought was a new phone because my old one had 4 years already. As long as I have fiat I will spend that first before any bitcoins.
3035  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so few women buying into Bitcoin? on: November 30, 2019, 09:08:03 PM
You could also ask why women aren't investing as much as men. Not in Bitcoin but in anything else.

Women are just different than men. Men usually don't spend an hour choosing clothes and women don't sit at home thinking what stock to buy. This a general difference but statistics generalize things.
3036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 61% of Bitcoin hodlers could sell at a profit on: November 30, 2019, 08:36:28 PM
They could but will they?

How many of them could sell for a profit higher than 50%? Probably not that many. How many for more than 100%? If I knew I can sell for a 10% profit I wouldn't even think about it. Bitcoin is an investment that can do 500% and more per bull run. Why would anyone settle for 10% or 20%?

Most hodlers are here because they could get 5% from other safe investments but they want 100%.
3037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is worth to invest in dogecoin? on: November 30, 2019, 08:30:08 PM
In my opinion it is not a good idea. There are better coins to invest your money starting with Bitcoin, but if you really want an altcoin choose something more popular. For example TRON is doing pretty good. Price wise it lost a lot but there's a lot of positive news like the recent one that poloniex bought tron dex exchange.

Doge is more like an abandoned project riding on its former popularity.
3038  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto Taxation on: November 29, 2019, 11:41:50 PM
I'm not afraid of crypto taxation because most governments don't want it. This is a stupid idea and those who support it should be laughed at.

You don't tax people who hold cash but you want to tax those who hold Bitcoin? Bitcoin is not stocks. You can't compare these two.

The only way to effectively tax bitcoin is to tax Bitcoin exchanges and make people pay additional fee that will later be converted to tax. There's no way people will report their held cryptocurrencies and pay tax on them every year.
3039  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin go to $8000 soon look this fractal on: November 29, 2019, 11:34:01 PM
It can go to 8000. I saw a number of youtube traders talking about it. 8000 is the top of the downtrend channel and breaking it would mean a bullish reversal is coming. The bottom is around 5000 so if we don't break it we will probably go to make lower lows and continue our way down.

Since everybody is talking about it you can expect a lot of shorts to form before we touch 8 thousand that can make us reverse earlier. Maybe 7900 that we touched will be that level?
3040  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You can share your own opinion if you have. on: November 29, 2019, 10:29:08 PM
My answer is smart people. Smart traders will make money but smart investors will also make money. I don't know if there's more smart investors or smart traders. Nobody knows that. A dumb investor and a dumb trader will both lose money that's for sure.

Trading is more difficult so if you're just starting here I'd recommend to invest in and hold. Don't hold forever though. If it dumps a lot sell it and save yourself some money. Don't lose everything in a scam coin or something. You have to be smart about it.
