Buy bitcoins local or mine them and move it in an exchange and trade.

I used BTC-e but they started charging 0.5LTC for withdrawl so I left. The do have low trade fees.
MtGox has high trade fees but good withdrawl rates.
Cryptsy is my favorite good transaction fees and withdrawl rates.

Probably it will stabilize at goldbar price of roughly half a million dollars a coin in about 5 years. Cheesy
3044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Spend Point on: November 25, 2013, 09:33:42 PM
I think somewhere about $100000 to $200000 per coin would be enough to buy a life without working.
But then again only cash out what you need Smiley

3048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bubble phases on: November 23, 2013, 05:36:55 PM
It does seem that we are in the middle of a massive boom right now, but will it crash or not? It is afterall gaining lots of media exposure and slowly becoming more mainstream.
My position is I bought 2btc a few weeks ago for around 600$, it was money I could afford to lose but didn't want to. I sold 1 earlier at 850 so I'm up on my original input plus $250 and I still have 1btc that I will leave as a wait and see.
If it does crash hugely I have money to buy more, if it doesn't I still have 1 bitcoin I got for free so I'm not too fussed. Curious as to how this will all pan out!

At some point in life you will be grey and old talking about that time you owned 2 whole BTC worth well over 6 digits and sold it for $850 Cheesy

3051  Economy / Speculation / Re: Supply massively outstripping demand at these prices. on: November 23, 2013, 01:25:45 PM
Just take a look at the order book on Bitstamp.

a mountain of 'Asks' and a thin strip of 'bids'. Been like this since last night yet the price keeps rising.

Surely something has to give here and a good near term correction is on its way?

The mountain of asks is probably for people wanting cheap coins.
Since bitcoin keeps going up, there will be no bids unless people want to cash. Why cash out in a positive trend?

Yes fiat will have to give someday Smiley

Take a look again what is ask and what is bid in the order book.

Your right got it the wrong way around Smiley
But then again maybe people are cashing out who got in late and everyone else has bought bitcoins with all their fiat so no money left Smiley.
3052  Economy / Speculation / Re: How many btc do you have? on: November 23, 2013, 01:20:30 PM

The only mistake you made that I could find is "Version in a few month at an high Level.". It should be "a high level". Your english is better than most british/american people I speak. (p.s. i'm dutch).
Thanks for correcting.
Now it`s your turn to translate this:
Bonus vir semper tiro.
That`s my Mantra.
I am half dutch. My dad was born in Utrecht. He was an olympic waterpolo player for the Netherlands 1936.
so you can imagine my age.
Kind regards to the Netherlands

Good Mantra ... "a good man is always learning" most people have Mantra's like Carpe diem which they also misinterpret Smiley

I work in Utrecht and live in the Hague, the world is a small place.

Thank you very much Smiley
3056  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Million dollars per coin by year 2020. I am not kidding. on: November 22, 2013, 09:55:11 PM
$1000000 will be $1.52 in 5 years Cheesy
3057  Economy / Speculation / Re: Any bitcoin-price forecasts? on: November 22, 2013, 09:15:29 PM
since I am a german I read also german chartanalytics.
gomode-trader.de  is very good on stocks, currencies etcetera and they made an analysis of the Bitcoin -Price just at 11.18.2013:
http://www.godmode-trader.de/nachricht/bitcoins-zukunftswaehrung-oder-jahrhundertblase,a3294895.html
Quote

For non german Readers I try to translate the most important conclusion (see quotation) from the Analysis.

A Rally acceleration is going on which could push up the Price up to the potential trendchannel top at about 2.400 to 2.600 Dollar.
From there could start a correction which might be finished in the bullish Version in a few month at an high Level.
After that another Rally acceleration is possible.
Prices up to 15.000 or 100.00 Dollar seem to be utopic at this time but from the chart-analytic Point of view they are possible without any Problems.
The amount would be not more than the first Rally from 2010 to mid 2011.

Sorry for my poor english.

If you look at the Chart you will see a very short time to reach the potential highs. Only about 3-6 or 8 months.
Very bullish.
Remember I said goodmode-trader.de is very good.
Let`s hope for us all.

Which poor english? The only mistake you made that I could find is "Version in a few month at an high Level.". It should be "a high level". Your english is better than most british/american people I speak. (p.s. i'm dutch).

That said my optimistic analysis is the following. (rough values)

Based om the recurring hypes and falls i've noticed the following. Every hype pushes the bitcoin to roughly double the previous hype and crashes to half that value. For example the last hype went to €270/$360 and this time to €650/$900) crashing back to about €330/$440. Plotting this into the future the next hype/bubble will go to €1300 (approx. $1800) and crash to €650/$900. Giving it 2 hypes per year we can hit the €10000/$14000 in two years.

Usability of bitcoin is increasing day by day reducing the risk of a crash to zero.

I do believe we will get near an equilibrium someday, my belief is it will be at the same level as a kilogram of bullion gold. Let's say €32000/$43000. I don't think $100000 will happen within 5 years.
3058  Economy / Speculation / Re: US Treasury issued $1 trillion in debt in the last 6 weeks on: November 21, 2013, 03:57:43 PM
$1 trillion? no problem ... at least the people printing money won't be out of a job in the near future Cheesy

3060  Economy / Speculation / Re: pay day on: November 20, 2013, 12:56:09 PM
I'm still holding with a $200 profit per coin. I'm in for the long run so didn't want to risk selling in a crash.
Could have made 30% but then again could have lost more Tongue
