$ 100k seems tough for this year, the most realistic is $ 80k for this year if in my opinion, but it is possible if the market is volatile well and the market is always improving. so in my opinion it is to monitor market developments at any time in order to determine the potential price that can be accurate
[/quote]
I believe its possible with the influence of institutional investors. These guys aren't buying btc at $40k to sell at $45k or $50, they are looking at $100

3043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wait for the dump on: January 18, 2021, 07:09:54 AM
I'm "hoping" for it to go under $30K just to buy more.
We hope the same too. But we do not know what will happen in the market, and we can only hope that will not happen. But if the price still going down below $30k, we can not do anything except following the price, and maybe we can buy more bitcoin at a lower price. As long as you do not panic when the market down, you will see the chance to buy bitcoin, so prepare yourself.
This is a dangerous strategy, a lot of people always say that they want to buy the dip but when the price begins to go down they get nervous about the possibility of the price crashing on them and they keep waiting only for the market to make a comeback and begin to grow significantly once again, and then those people begin to complain about the fact that they did not bought at the level they said that they were going to buy.

I couldn't agree more, the psychology is incredible. I have notice such people prefer to buy a coin when it is in the greens than when it really dips

3045  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why We Need Decentralized Blockchain Social Media Platforms on: January 16, 2021, 01:42:41 PM
If you know how to be anonymous you don't need decentralized social media platforms.
Let me use this scenario, assuming you are anonymous in a way your social media account can not be linked to you, and you posted something on your social media account like Twitter or Facebook, do you know due to certain reasons, your posts can be deleted, or even your account be restricted. This is not only affecting personal accounts, it is also affecting business accounts as well, you will see accounts using social media to advertise their products and services, before they know, they will be restricted from using their own account to advertise their product. There are many more examples why centralized internet can be a disadvantage, why though decentralized internet can have some disadvantages too like the issue of scam.
Exactly my thoughts. Users don't have privacy in the true sense its just an illusion. As for decentralized interested being a hub for scam I think history has us traditional social media isn't scam free. Take for example the twitter heist. Telegram is also a safe haven for scammers
3046  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you trust the co-vid19 vaccine ? on: January 16, 2021, 11:14:12 AM
We don't know much about the vaccines being fforced on us. The media is controlled by people with certain interest. As much as we like to believe we have a say in this, the truth is we really don't have a choice. Some States are already making it mandatory for everyone...you can't travel or work if you're not vaccinated. That would bully everyone into taking the vaccine.

You have no choice to get stabbed? (piercing the scin is stabbing) I shure will not agree.

Here's how it works:

 - You have some percentage of people who are gun-ho on getting the vaccine and will scramble for it.  They are easy, and you can make some money off of them.

 - You have some percentage of people who are iffy, but they can be bullied into getting it in exchange for travel, money, food, etc.

 - You have a tiny minority of people who both will not get the injection and are independantly wealthy enough to work around the various kinds of coercion.  Most of these can be bought off with a back-door (fake or safe injections, forged 'immunity passports', etc.)

 - A tiny minority of that tiny minority will not keep their mouths shut out of care for their fellow man.

The key is that BOTH groups who get the shots are easily manipulated by fear, hate, envy, etc.  "Why should they not take the risk when I have to?"  It will be this contingent (probably 99.5% of the population) who will be the threat to the 'non-quite refuser' class.

Pick your side now.  If you can; most people really won't have much choice about which bin they fall into.

True but from what you just  said. There's really not much of a choice here either. The only way to escape getting vaccinated is if you're of the wealthy and political class which is just a minority of the population
3047  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why We Need Blockchain Social Media on: January 16, 2021, 10:49:19 AM
There's also lots of social media these days that has contents regarding cryptocurrency.

This isn't just about bitcoin or cryptocurrency. It's about user privacy.
And yes we do have some blockchain media platforms but they are not as popular as traditional social media platforms
3048  Other / Politics & Society / Why We Need Decentralized Blockchain Social Media Platforms on: January 16, 2021, 10:24:19 AM
Privacy to me is everything.  User privacy on social media platforms like Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter and others is a growing concern. This is because they are governed and monitored by centralized corporations. Truth is if they can kick out the President of the United States of America, they can do it to you too. This is just the beginning. Having an account on these platforms means you are giving away your privacy rights in their hands. They have complete control over users’ data, and thus, they are able to control the mind, behavior, and other aspects of the data produced. Remember the twitter crypto heist in July 2020 where the accounts of prominent people like Bill Gates, Elon Musk was hacked and the scammers made away with about $121,000 in bitcoin.
Most of the popular social media platforms track user activity. Ever wonder why certain adverts always pop up on your phone? These platforms sell your information to provide the highest bidder with more helpful targeting for their advertising and marketing purposes. Since all platforms such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Twitter, and others are centralized, they very well exploit the user’s content.
This is more reason why we need decentralized blockchain social media like Minds, All.me, steemit, voice, Peepeth, DTube.

honestly, this makes me very sad, even if i understand why this merit system is implemented for.

i am like 3-4 weeks away from my sr.member rank and this fucks me really up Sad

i'm sad, angry and shocked together X_x". now i have to collect like 150 merits in a short time but how Oo", i dont think that people will freely start to like everything i post... since humans are not generous, infact, they can be very harsh to others, being anonymous on the internet...
You made it this far with 100+ merits to your name. You must have been doing something right. Don't give up yet. As for members being harsh I think that's more of twitter thing lol
3051  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: how do i give a merit point to someone ? on: January 16, 2021, 01:04:58 AM
For a newbie with zero merit you are interested in sending others merits. for each 2 merits you receive, you get 1 sMerit you can send.
BTW aren't there threads for this already?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2818350.0
If you spent more time reading about the forum and making good posts rather than spamming to increase activity points you'd have had a merit by now. Focus on creating good content and posts. Also keep in mind that it is against the rules to beg for merit. You most likely won't get a merit for this post or posts like this because it explains nothing and helps no one. Do your best to be helpful to the community and merits will follow
3052  Other / Archival / Re: ... on: January 15, 2021, 07:42:26 PM
If many shopes and companies were actively using cryptocurrency, as you say, we would see the price of bitcoin and ether not at current levels, but at least two or three times higher.
We already saw bitcoin price increase thrice its value within the past  month because of the influence of these institutional investors.
3053  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why nobody can hack blockchain on: January 14, 2021, 10:30:36 PM
Not every blockchain is invisible. There's been 51% attack on Ethereum Classic (ETC), Feathercoin (FTC), Bitcoin Gold (BTG), Vertcoin (VTC) and Verge (XVG).
3054  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wait for the dump on: January 12, 2021, 10:00:06 PM
Few days ago it is trying to dump and already it has dumped too much and now trying to much dump if market isn't try to break out 37k area then market will be dumped too much.
The market is highly manipulated. It's good to note that the same people that are driving the dip will also drive us to a new ATH

I believe say fg wan just use this registration as a means to spike the covid cases for our country so them fit resume lockdown and collect funds from international body. Even our banks nor dey try, how you go keep crowd for outside bank say you dey observe covid 19 protocol e nor make sense at all.

3 Habits to being a successful trader
I talked about mistakes traders make when trading in my previous post. And I thought why not talk about it from a different angle, and weeks later here we are.
Basic rituals you need to a accustomed to as a trader;
1. Manage your risk: Always ensure you use stop loss and take profits orders. Ensure that you limit your risk to an amount you're comfortable with (maybe 5-10%).

2. Control your mindset: While some would argue that it is impossible not to be emotional since we are human. It is imperative that you control your emotions and psychological mindset when trading. Don't let your decisions be influenced by greed or fear. Don't let yourself get emotionally attached to a bad trade.

3. Study the market: Analyse the market with your strategy. Use hard data to guide your strategy plan like technical analysis or fundamental analysis.

P.S: the hardest part of trading is actually going through with your plan. The market can be cruel

Trade safe and stay green!!

I suggest you use an exchange like Bitfinex or Binance. Although I think binance has banned US users. I'm not too sure about that now but just to be safe don't use Binance if you are in the US. You could also sell to a local vendor
3059  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the Best Time to sell ? on: January 07, 2021, 10:58:34 PM
My trading rule is buy bitcoin when it is low and sell when its high. But considering the current bull run. Is it safe to say $34k is not a bad price to buy bitcoin because I can't see a massive dip any time soon
