3041  Economy / Services / Re: BTC Share Hub - Trust-oriented forum + Free ADVERTISING EVENT NOW! on: July 31, 2015, 05:54:09 PM
Could you also tell us if what we could do with the accumulated points? could we exchange those for something?

Hi!
By accumulated points you mean 'trust reputation points' am I right?
The trust reputation points only serve as means of proving how 'trustworthy' you are between users.
It is used as a tool to measure risks before conducting transactions with one another.

With that in mind, I think you have just given us a new idea.
Maybe we will host events for those who reach a specific number of reputation points.

For your information,
We are hosting 'share' events every month. All donations that are collected will be shared amongst BTC Share Hub users through Instagram events.

Thank you for your feedback Smiley

BTC Share Hub
Don't you think idea of trust points is abusable? I think 2 scammers working together and boosting eachother accounts can in a short time have pretty big amount of trust point.
From that point there is easy way for them to scam people who believe that this trust are indeed worth something. How do you plan on preventing this scenario?
3042  Economy / Economics / Re: Play of the Century on: July 31, 2015, 05:41:49 PM
Dollar index is dollar priced in a basket of other currencies. All it means when it goes up is that it is experiencing less inflation than the other currencies.  Unless you expect the Euro and Yen to suddenly start being stronger (good luck with that), I wouldn't short the dollar.
Every FIAT based index and comparison one FIAT currency to another is more like a fantasy index than any real indicator.
Every number is fake and FIAT system could crumble any minute by is fixed artificially by government and financial insituions.
So yes, It is a play of the Century.
3043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to measure Bitcoin popularity? on: July 31, 2015, 05:24:19 PM
What do you think is the best way to measure the popularity of Bitcoin? Some say that amount of transactions or used addresses but in my opinion this is not really a good measurement.
Amount of bitcoin transaction could be easily tweaked and manipulated, furthermore there are significant number of dust and spam transactions.
Part of Bitcoin philosophy is using new address for every transaction because they are literally endless so you can own hundreds of them.
So you are right, these factors are nothing certain and you cannot measure anything by number transactions and addresses.
3044  Economy / Gambling / Re: SOCCER PREDICTION[POST YOUR PREDICTIONS] on: July 30, 2015, 11:44:54 AM
I think we gonna have a good top class match between Milan and Real. Both teams are in a good shape, they are looking strong and they are motivated.
I think they will get the best out of them. Usually I would bet on Real every match but here I expect here maybe a draw of 2-2 or 1-1.
3045  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do people still play dice? on: July 30, 2015, 11:17:22 AM
I used to play dice because i thought i could make profit, stable profit from it, obviously i was wrong, you can't win in the long term, that was my only purpose of playing dice, other than that i do not find it fun or entertaining unless im winning money, i would not play dice if money was not involved, so my question is, why people still play? Im sure 90% of people know what your odds are and that strategies don't work, what is their purpose? Do you guys really have fun playing dice? Watching a number appear on the screen?
If you think you can earn stable amount of money from playing in casino, think again. It is not gonna happen, definitely not with Dice.
I heard about pro poker players or incredibly skilled blackjack players who earned quite a bit money from playing in casinos,
but this is impossible with pure gamble game like Dice. Dice is simple, that is the main point a lot of people are playing it everyday.
3046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is wealth boring? on: July 30, 2015, 11:03:25 AM
I think people are boring, wealth brings options that's all.

What many people do when they have money is do the same thing as before just a more expensive version of it....money is wasted on people like that and they often find themselves just as unhappy with it.
This is a valid point. The problem with big money is repetitiveness, people who have fortune usually lack imagination. They got bored because they are always repeating the same boring things.
There are so many ways of spending your money it is not even possible to count, and rich people always doing similar things. They at least could buy some bitcoins...
3047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Thoughts about how to spread Bitcoin adoption on: July 30, 2015, 10:51:27 AM
1. You simplify the use of Bitcoin to the point that is oversimplified.
2. Continue spreading the word, friends, family etc.
3. You keep innovating and making a rock solid software that will not give up on is.
4. You let the time does its job. Look at Greece, Cyprus etc.

4. Look at Greece?
Nothing happened in Greece, dude, I followed it closely.
40% of greeks NEVER accessed internet.
And THIS is a good place to say: Greece is the WRONG PLACE to advertise Bitcoin, also between your family.
For the simple reason that, with such a bad internet infrastructure or appreciation, there's an additional barrier in its adoption.
Greece will surely NOT be one of the first countries adopting Bitcoin, DESPITE its terrible economic conditions.

2. Ye that happens ANYWAY.

3. Not my task, it's coders and IT task, and this happens ANYWAY as well. Software evolution goes on.

1. What?
If the greeks have no idea what internet exactly is how do you expect them to embrace bitcoin? That was not the point of this story.
Greek crisis showed people that even with somewhat strong currency they are not safe. Their bank accounts can be frozen, their money grabbed by government.
This is where bitcoin comes on a scene, some people realized that with bitcoin your money will be safer, that is a first step.
3048  Economy / Gambling / Re: OneHash || bet with bitcoins || no registration, ads and pop-ups on: July 29, 2015, 01:23:43 PM
At least! I love that you can bet on The International games. I was waiting for so long to be able to bet in this tourney for bitcoins.
And OneHash is actually the first bitcoin site where I can bet for Dota2, other sites only had SCII, CSGO and LoL.
3049  Economy / Gambling / Re: What's the fastest dice website? on: July 29, 2015, 01:02:28 PM
You guys need to realize fact, that some big casinos and dice sites have build in 'slow script'. For example PrimeDice has it.
Low roll are usually somewhat slow because there are too many of them for the system to handle, while high rolls are fast as lightning, if you are low roller you might never notice this feature.
3050  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mike Tyson bitcoin ATM on twitter on: July 29, 2015, 12:53:54 PM
The man behind a Mike Tyson-branded bitcoin ATM in Las Vegas has defended the initiative after accusations it was a scam surfaced today. While some hailed the news as good PR for bitcoin,
questions about the legitimacy of the project soon surfaced following a closer look at the site's domain owner, Peter Klamka, and the project's partner, Bitcoin Direct LLC.
SiliconANGLE reporter Duncan Riley noted the patchy internet trail of Klamka's firm Bitcoin Brands Inc, an over-the-counter (OTC) stock with a market cap of just $6,780 and no visible product offerings.

3051  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lucy Liu is into bitcoin on: July 29, 2015, 12:43:11 PM
For promotional purposes it is great news. Celebrities and famous people like that will make bitcoin noticeable in mass media and that is what bitcoin needs.
What makes me unsure of her intention is fact that she was promoting 'use of blockchain' - in identity management (whatever that is).
I wonder if she is another person who think that blockchain alone is great but bitcoin is unnecessary...
3052  Economy / Gambling / Re: I want MMA Props! on: July 28, 2015, 04:01:44 PM
It is weird because MMA is not so uncommon sport for betting anymore. I see that standard FIAT betting places already adopted it and you can bet on almost every MMA fight.
Bitcoin betting supposed to be so innovative yet we are unable to bet on some already popular sports...
3053  Economy / Gambling / Re: SatoshiDICE.com - The World's Most Popular Bitcoin Game on: July 28, 2015, 01:37:09 PM
I want to know if it is actually safe to play at satoshidice now? I heard some pretty weird info about blocked withdrawals and overall unresponsive and distant staff.
This site is still in the game? Or it would be better if I deposit somewhere else...
3054  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Loaning - Is it worth it? on: July 28, 2015, 01:25:50 PM
You can gain pretty much from lending lending BTC. But if you are not careful you can also lost all your money. Bitcoin give people some sort of anonymity therefore scam attempts while lending money are normal.
You need to create for yourself set of rules and always play by the book. Never lend btc without proper collateral, even if someone is trusted. Also you may want to have limit on how much BTC you can lend.
3055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: the blockchain will be hacked on: July 28, 2015, 01:12:43 PM
I read that there has never been an attack on the block chain that resulted in stolen money. Nothing has there ever been a reported theft resulting directly from a vulnerability in the original Bitcoin client, or a vulnerability in the protocol. For now bitcoin are considered unlikely to be breakable in the near future. But... science has been wrong many times before and there may be some things we don't know yet.
3056  Economy / Gambling / Re: Help me decide the name of my bitcoin gambling website on: July 26, 2015, 12:14:27 PM
^ It is too late to make your suggestions now and OP has made the decision already.
Check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1097121.msg11890753#msg11890753 for the poll result and explanation of the name chosen.
So 44% vote went to bitsharp, no surprise for me there. That is a very good choice imo. Short catchy words like this are often the best names for services and new domains.
Now I wait to see how this site will be doing and if bitsharp name will bring popularity with it.
3057  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How greedy you are ? on: July 26, 2015, 11:45:08 AM
I am always being greedy. That is in the human nature to lust for things. You just need to be cool about and know where is your limit.
For example if you are betting your last money and expecting to win and then you lose you know that this is not the correct way of dealing with greed.
Crete set of rules and follow them no matter what, take control of your greed this way. Think of the consequences and your greed will help you gain more.
3058  Economy / Gambling / Re: Why You Should NEVER Deposit To Primedice on: July 26, 2015, 11:10:53 AM
well there have been mods who have been unprofessional in the past and steve is a example but I don't know if they are corrupt in the sense that people like MICRO have helped out wherever they can
Well I think steve got modded because of his huge chat activity(he's second after singpays), and yes MICRO is a helpful mod who does come to the chat frequently, same goes for LabKitty, hasnt had a problem with him/her .

still cant believe what happened to steve after he got into power lol it went to his head sadly Sad singpays should be modded tbh lol I can see why some people call the mods corrupt but basing it on one mod isn't too fair tbh
There are always people who don't like mods. It does not matter if we are talking of mods of primedice, other casinos or bitcointalk. There always be bashing and accusation that they are corrupt.
Most of the time these accusations are just bull, but people who lost money are more likely to complain harder.
3059  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What do you expect from dice sites? on: July 26, 2015, 10:55:53 AM
Dice site ? ohh I don't play dice. I think it can be adjustable by the owner when you win and when you lose
But if you think about it don't every other gambling service have the same ability to rig their bets? Dice is not exclusively susceptible to rigged bets, you can have tilted tables in every casino game.
That is why we have something like provably fair - method when you can check probability of each roll. Serious Casinos also have iTech certificate.
3060  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoins Price be manipulated like Gold is? on: July 25, 2015, 06:54:47 AM
I saw this about central banks sniffing around Bitcoin to make a Frankenstein coin they can use to expand and scam everyone
http://www.coindesk.com/deloitte-central-bank-cryptocurrency/

This is the notion of using the blockchain technology without bitcoin. I do not think it has to be a scam. Central banks could do with a more transparent and efficient ledger to the bank reserve requirements.

BUT it made me wonder if you had enough resources they could hold the price of Bitcoin down like gold? I mean through deriveratives of BItcoin, not the actual coin. Could it be surpressed like gold?

Bitcoin's market cap is only $4 billion. The top banks and hedge fund firms manages an estimate of $10 trillion. They can manipulate bitcoin like a puppet. There is no doubt what they can do, if they want to do it.

How with a ton of fiat alone could you manipulate Bitcoin apart from inflating the price? If they bought tons of coins pushing the price to the moon people would take big gains and likely pump them straight back in, all it would do is raise the VOL.

Well, it is quite simple you can buy small amount of bitcoin on different exchanges(or maybe from/through middlemen), of course not instant but over time.
When you achieve that you can dump these coins at once causing huge panic and price drop. Then you can buy cheaper.
