3041  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can change of environment have an effect on gambling addiction. on: August 10, 2022, 10:55:08 AM
~ Well, in the end it's up to the person himself if he wants to change and get rid of addiction or not. A good environment can help him in making decisions and will help him let go of what he thinks is important for him. And with the cooperation of everyone in this new environment, then he'll have the best chance to finally let go of his old ways.

But the most important thing here is his/her will to end their addiction. Don't blame the environment or anything. Don't search for excuses because you'll find millions of them if deep inside you don't want to stop being addicted. Do the opposite: while remaining in the same environment look for something that can distract you from gambling.
3042  Economy / Economics / Re: The BTC price must stabilize in the long run. on: August 10, 2022, 10:23:01 AM
Having stable coins is not stability, imo. Their value is pegged to the value of a fiat currency and, especially in times like these, one can't certainly expect a sustainable purchasing power of fiat currencies. And, in fact, unlike Bitcoin, stable coins can only lose their real value with time. So, if by "stability" we mean constant losing of real value, then stable coins are stable in that sense. But who wants that stability?
People who do not know what else to do, pick stablecoins because they believe that they could end up making a bit of profit with it. First of all, even if you are from the USA, you could use stuff like USDT to make sure you are in liquidity providing, interests, staking and whatever else you want to find and that's how you make a big profit.

However, if you are not from the US, then you could be doing even better because not only you will profit that way, but you will profit because USD would go up against your own nation currency as well. I have been doing it, and I know the returns are little, but it is certainly a way to make profit and I am quite happy about it.

I congratulate you on making profits with investing in USDT, but how it's different from simply investing in USD then?

~ We were used to the "Gold Standard" in the past, and it worked out pretty well. But Bitcoin is even better than Gold, so it's likely the world will switch to the "Bitcoin Standard" with decaying Fiat currencies. Nothing is set in stone, so we can only hope for the best. Just my thoughts Grin

It may be hard to understand for most people in the world at the moment, but these days Bitcoin indeed is better than gold. There's nothing wrong with gold itself, it will always be worth something, but today it's overpriced big time, same as it was 10 years ago. Bitcoin, on the other hand, is now fluctuating around its new bottom.

3044  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: August 10, 2022, 09:50:36 AM
~

Since you people can't gamble because of the lack of money, this means that this idea of gambling with fake money suit you the most. If gambling is available to you with fake money, will you people gamble and get some entertainment? Since you will have nothing to lose, you will enjoy gambling the most. However, i wonder what will the gambling casino earn if they allow gambling with fake moneyRoll Eyes

Well, gambling with fake money can be only one option among others. On every slot I know you can play in DEMO mode with FUN money, but, of course, you can bet with real money on the same platform, hence the profit for casino. Another option I can think of is ads. A site where you can make sports bets for fun can be advertising some real gambling platforms.

~
I remember getting very, very close to the top 10 sometime back, but got thrown into the 100s just because of a small change in the BTC price which pissed me off. BTC was my sworn enemy for a moment back then.
This is how last minute game changing through bitcoin volatility and prices can vary a lot but in these competitions there are many predictions close sometimes and these fluctuations could push you down in the winning list. But this is how it works in the end and you need to be lucky also.

With predicting BTC price this is absolutely the case. Bitcoin price can change big time within a week, and no one can even tell in what direction it'll go. Once I was among the winners of Bitcasino.io's Bitcoin Predictor challenge, like this ongoing one, but I never thought it happened because I was such an expert. Of course it was pure luck. Smiley
3046  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Fengshui on: August 09, 2022, 11:31:11 AM
~ Luck in gambling is an entity independent of other factors.  Luck just exists.  Some people are lucky in gambling.  They win big sums of money.  That is what fascinates people.  Single combat with fate (luck).

I agree, only it's not like some people can be inherently luckier in gambling than others. We can never say in advance who's more lucky. Only later, after someone won a big amount we say, "Oh, he's a lucky bastard!" Only post factum. And nothing, absolutely nothing, including Feng shui, can change that.
3047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling in Moderation, Pros can out weigh its Cons in Financial and Health? on: August 09, 2022, 10:31:32 AM
I think gambling is sort of simulation in life where you play and directly win at financial means. So it has escapist mechanism in itself. Because of this I believe, gambling can be very fun to go away from stressful things in life. I don't count financial benefits even. But gamblers should be respectful to their family while escaping from bad sides of life. It can be damaging to totally escape life.

Yeah, totally escaping life is never a good thing, especially if you want to do it frequently and for a long period of time. Maybe you should reconsider your way of living instead of trying to escape it through gambling, alcohol, drugs or whatever. In fact, I think gambling shouldn't be in one list along with drugs and alcohol even. Gambling, if done in moderation, can be a healthier way for you to relax.
3048  Economy / Economics / Re: Where should I invest? on: August 09, 2022, 09:46:10 AM
The cryptocurrency market is much more unstable than the fiat currency, bond, or stock market. Before investing in cryptocurrencies, I recommend you think about it very well -- you can lose all your money in one day. I am studying at a medical college. To diversify our studies, a new finance department has been introduced
But we have to remember that many people are getting huge profit by investing on crypto currency. It is true that there is no short cut way to get rich within short time. We have to implement strategic planning to get profit. We should invest in different sectors for more safety.

Whatever we do when investing in cryptocurrencies, no matter how much research we perform,  we should understand that a certain amount of risk will always be there. You will not lose everything at once, like some people are saying in this thread, but you have to be ready for seeing your assets loosing significant part of their value. It can be a temporary thing, like for BTC or ETH, or it can be final, like for some sh*tcoins, so be ready for that. Don't invest more than you can afford to lose.
3049  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Threshold of Loss in Gambling on: August 09, 2022, 09:11:51 AM
~
It could be the situation that he still lives with his parents and saves little by little. But I think if depositing as much as 20% of his savings just to enjoy gambling, I don't think it's wise because he can forget to control how much he spends. A total of 20% of the savings is for one-time use or several times playing gambling would not be recommended to use that amount for gambling.

The percentage is calculated this way: If you earn $100 per day, then spending $20 per day on gambling means you spend 20% on gambling.  If you spend $20 per week, that's not 20% of your earnings/savings. That's around 3% which is acceptable.

That's a huge part of savings for someone supporting their family, but the word "savings" is what caught my attention here, see, not "earnings", but "savings". I think it means the guy is living with his parents, saving little by little from what he's getting for small expenses. I may be wrong of course, but then the guy should probably reconsider his budgeting. Spending 20% on gambling is unacceptably a lot.
For me, 20 percent isn't that much ~
Same here 20% isn't that much. Let us say my weekly savings is around 50$ so that makes $10 an allocation for gambling.  In a month's time, I would have $200  savings and $40 of those would be allocated to gambling. $40 a month for gambling is a small amount in my opinion.  Other players gamble more than that in a week.

If by "savings" you mean the money allocated for entertainment, I agree with you, 20% isn't that much. But that's only if we are talking about spare money.
3050  Economy / Gambling / Re: Duelbits.com | Casino & Sportsbook | Earn up to 50% rakeback | VIP | on: August 09, 2022, 08:37:27 AM
~ VPN is not bad as long as it isn't specially said to be a banned offense. And I have to say, using another IP other than yours, hell using an IP that is not even from the same place as yours, would always end up blowing back on your face for sure. Doesn't mean that it will be caught right away, or even if not caught, doesn't mean it will not create a problem.

But why? Can't you be travelling, for example? These days many people travel a lot, and they have their laptop with them. If today they log in to Duelbits from Madrid, and the next day it's Berlin, they can be traveling or they can be using VPN, how can you tell?

But, that doesn't change the fact that we are not dealing with something special here, and that's an important difference. We should be focusing a bit more towards the fact that VPN is not illegal to use, but it is frowned upon when you do something wrong and they will always be looking to find something you did wrong.

Yes, it's their right, let them look. Only it shouldn't take long, and if you are doing nothing wrong, you should be allowed to play from wherever you want.

I do the same,I always convert them to WoF spins bonus per roll,I find it to be the best way to spend them without having to wait to much in order to gather them for the minimum payout which is 100.000 RP,not an easy number if you are not a Premium Member and at least level 3 or level 4 meaning to have the more WoF spins possible from your Premium membership. There are a lot of other people who like to wait until they convert them to 0.001 Bitcoin but for me that is not a satisfying number at all.I am sure we win more by exchanging RP to WoF in the long run rather than wait for the conversion to 0.001 Bitcoin.

Hm, interesting. I'm not sure of that. I mean, money-wise. But if to think of the entertainment facet of this activity, of course exchanging RP to WoF is much more fun than waiting forever for 100k RPs and then exchanging them for what, 24 USD in Bitcoin?

I'd rather have 2,000 chances of winning that Rolex. Smiley

finally got the cashout on 4th august, so exactly 2 weeks after requesting the first cashout on the 21st. just not good enough for me to continue on the site, if you can guarantee same day cashouts later i might be back as i liked the site. but i just cant have funds locked up for that long.

Good to see that your problem was solved.

As of the delay, as someone playing poker regularly on Betnomi.com, I was glad to see this post by @icopress:

~Betnomi told me that this case was checked for poker cheating, same pattern as another user (but he is clear).

Yesterday the withdrawal was processed.

Cheating with multi-accounting is annoying. No one wants cheaters had that advantage. But now I'm wondering, could there be another way to cheat in poker on Betnomi platform? I think, no. But what would you say, @icopress?

Thank you Steve for the freebets. I actually scored on 2 of them, I seem to do very well in French league last season, and right off the first games (cup included) I get them good. But ONLY with freebets lol

No complaining from my side for sure! Free entries to the EPL pool Smiley

Congrats on your wins, @slaman29! Especially the last one is impressive. Winning a sports bet with 8.70 odds is rare. I do place such bets too, but I lose them most of the time.

Now you inspired me to place a bet with similar odds on a live event

Let's see what happens. Smiley

3055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is Trading at a Discount, Says Bloomberg Senior Analyst on: August 08, 2022, 09:25:36 AM
Crypto winter for some, summer sales for some others  Wink

Indeed, it's trading at a discount, especially in the last 2 months. And this situation may last some more months, or the price may drop some more, or maybe the crypto winter is already over (we just have a pump - maybe small, maybe not). However, crypto winter will end. And then some will be crying again that they've missed the train. It happens all the time.

However: this is speculation, not financial advice.

Of course, although it holds not much of value (since it's speculation), it's nice to have such things coming from a "Bloomberg Senior Analyst" (although I don't care much of such a title, I expect some do).

I, for one, do. So, it feels double nice for me. Smiley

Also, I think it's statements like this one by Bloomberg Senior Analyst is what's pushing the price of Bitcoin up, maybe only by 5%, but still. And will people who followed his advice and invested in BTC at today's price regret it in the future? I seriously doubt that.
3056  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Japanese Animation Slot Machines on: August 08, 2022, 08:53:40 AM
Good morning. Some days ago I was taking a look at my twitter feedback and I found something some of you could find interesting or at leat worthy of some discussion.

It seems there are slot machines of a popular japanese animation called "Madoka Magica", basically girls with magic powers, these slots machines seem to include a tactile screen for the player to interact with the characters in order to gamble.

In these Tweets you can see how two of the characters seem to ask the player to "touch" their fingertips as part of the slot machine functionality. (For some reason, if the player chooses to hold on it more than necessary the character reacts to it)

https://twitter.com/_jpjordon_/status/1514676095999696902
https://twitter.com/Gitaka27/status/1515198419115343877

What do you think about these japanese slot machines?
Do you like them?
Would you gamble on them?

I think, for "Madoka Magica" fans it's a perfect slot. I can't imagine they would choose to play other themed slot if they had this one as an option.

You showed physical slots in your examples, but there's also a smartphone version, if I'm not mistaken:

I personally wouldn't play this slot because I'm not a "Madoka Magica" fan, even if its RTP was 99% instead of 96%-98% in slots I normally play. But if I were a big fan of these anime television series, I would play it even if its RTP was 94%.
3057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A horror flick available only to buyers of a $263 NFT on: August 05, 2022, 02:17:03 PM
To bump this thread and to clarify my question.

I didn't mean to ask sharing your thoughts about the movie, “18 & Over”, or its producing team. If it were such a question I would post it in the Off-topic section. Sorry if it looked like that.

My question is, do you think bringing NFT into a project can boost it?

I personally think it can, but you have to engage in cooperation with, say, Yuga Labs, creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club NFTs, or someone of their level. Then there would be a chance of those NFTs worth something in the future. Just creating 10,000 random NTFs and associating them with a project is not enough.

Again, what are your thoughts, guys?
3058  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you know how to trust online sportsbooks? on: August 05, 2022, 10:11:43 AM
~
Yes, its dumb to make out deposits directly but there are indeed people who do accept the risk just for them to prove out something that they do have in mind.
Lets give thanks on them sometimes yet they do save up people on doing that part.

I can't imagine such situation, to be honest. Finding a random sportsbook online and making a deposit straight away? Unimaginable. Why don't spend 20 minutes on your research first? And I don't mean Google, it's hard to figure out what's legit and what's not there sometimes. I mean this forum, bitcointalk.org, where you can just ask about a reliable sportsbook, and you'll get your answers pretty quickly.

3060  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / A horror flick available only to buyers of a $263 NFT on: August 04, 2022, 01:56:15 PM
Today I came across this article in Variety and started wondering, what bitcointalk members would say about potential success of this project.

In my personal opinion, it's going to flop big time. Not only because it was directered by Jimmy Giannopoulos who previously made only one film, a below the average crime thriller, The Birthday Cake (2021), but because very few people would pay $263 to see a new film by Christopher Nolan or David Fincher, let alone someone totally unknown.

But those are my thoughts. What do you guys think. Am I missing something?
