Comparing mega bubbly 2013 with soft run up 2016-2017.

I am a little disappointed  Grin
3044  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem) on: June 22, 2017, 05:29:27 PM
i assume we can expect that someone would create website to monitoring how much eth donated in single day, amirite?  Grin

you know like old days, ags

You mean during the ICO sale?

When the ICO was beta tested, you could follow the numbers (ETH submitted, price per EOS, per window) on the ICO page. So I expect this information to be available in real time for anyone to see.
3045  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 22, 2017, 05:26:06 PM
[...]while the concept of smart contracts and his mining algorithms fascinated me, I found the concept of pre-mined coins to be sleazy, so I took a pass.

With Bitcoin I feel I'm doing something good for the world.
[...]

I am in the same boat. No coin cap and/or software defined rules on it -> not interested. So I passed on ETH but I am happy that I can use it now for specific purposes (AKA, if investors want to jump into ICOs creating tech for the future, I have no concerns. There will be some big wins but also BIG LOSSES).

Bitcoin is simple and pure

Just bought some Gulden.  The premine worried me a bit but after doing research and downloading the app, which is slick as hell btw, I think this is a true sleeper.  Everything they have built looks extremely professional.  Can't argue with the number of merchants on board either.

Exactly what I tell other people. They had slick software and appearance before anyone else. And the Dutch trading spirit  Grin

Why do we get posts about Flo constantly?

Flo coin goes here.
3048  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: June 19, 2017, 09:35:26 PM

In next 24/48 hours we will probably see enough signaling for Segwit2x to pass (80%) and if all goes well it will be near 100% before activating day.

And then?  Grin

3050  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: June 18, 2017, 10:24:30 PM
Again I ask, exactly how many transactions can IOTA handle at max capacity?

I believe the official statement is that payment capacity is essentially limited by hardware and network constraints. So bye bye Ripple with its 'record'  Shocked  Grin

3052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: June 16, 2017, 10:02:53 PM
I've just tested 2 light wallets (other on remote desktop) and got terrible experience!
First, if it send, it takes like a minute minimum.
Then there's 100% CPU hogging and nothing more forever (until I close the wallet).
Then there's "confirmed" 0 value transactions?!

Did you connect the address in the wallet to the tangle? Otherwise, your payment won't show up. Second: having to give some CPU power is what this coin is all about. You are both sender and miner in one.
3053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: June 16, 2017, 05:53:00 PM

thanks

3055  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: June 15, 2017, 09:15:51 PM
Is there a faucet or could anybody send a just a few IOTA's?

... there is a chance for 3 chains:
BIP148
Legacy chain
Jihancoin.

Can you guess which one I will be dumping? Cheesy

Wow, so I can almost triple my money? .... kidding. Smiley

Why dump any? Etc is clearly proving that it's lucrative to just hold them all.  Smiley

Exactly, and meanwhile automatically receive Byteball on your Bitcoin while enjoying the show. Such drama.
3057  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Litecoin - a lite version of Bitcoin. Launched! on: June 14, 2017, 04:43:23 PM
Litecoin's role as a primary carrier role make this one of the most important coins out there.

Bundesbank's Weidmann: Digital Currencies Will Make The Next Crisis Worse http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-06-14/bundesbanks-weidmann-digital-currencies-will-make-next-crisis-worse

Instant payment is not a defining feature of bitcoin. In fact, the European payment system is already almost 'instant payment'. The unique features of bitcoin are decentralised, permissionless, programmable and non-inflatable.

And bank runs:  Who needs a bank if you can be your own bank?
3059  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: June 14, 2017, 04:20:01 PM
Black bytes have the advantage of being able to be sent anonymously and without detection, but the downside is that these tokens can only be transferred if the sender and receiver have paired their devices first. So a payment to a random receiver without the receiver involved is not possible. In fact, I believe the receiver needs to set up the payment request in order to transfer black bytes.

Search for 'Byteball payment' on YouTube to see this in action.

Perhaps this video may give you an idea.
