3041  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 30, 2013, 11:16:31 PM
The fact that everyone with a jupiter ordered is going to get much more, how can anyone complain??

Well, they did promise to ship in September, and that didn't happen. Let's see how long it takes them to actually ship the orders.
3042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 30, 2013, 09:40:49 PM
Let's cool down.. I came here to ruin the fun. Bitfury chips are 55nm and do <0.7 W/Gh. KNCMiner chips are reportedly >1.4W/Gh.

I'm just wondering as I really have no idea, how much would an equivalent miner (in terms of GH/s) from Bitfury cost?

Well, if you purchased today:

Bitfury, 400 GH/s, $8000, delivered in Oct.
KnC, 500 GH/s, $4995, delivered in Nov.

It'll be a few months before the energy costs become significant, so they're pretty close in value.
3043  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 30, 2013, 09:29:25 PM

The only speed that matters is accepted shares over a period of time to limit the variance. If this is the miner:

http://eligius.st/~wizkid057/newstats/userstats.php/17Czc8RVL3FU5T2MLx2zLbRnpfBNgH9vFo

22.5 minutes   475.64 Gh/s

It aint doing 596.
3044  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ROI on: September 30, 2013, 09:19:28 PM
Could you remind me where I can find out the projected time of the next difficulty adjustment?

With current growth rates, it's about every 11 days. Next adjustment in about 5 days to 180M.

Also, can you provide some numbers or point me to a source to support your claim?

Thanks for your input.

Here's an optimistic estimate: http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/49a674a026

If it doesn't break even in the next 3-6 months, it never will.
3045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 30, 2013, 09:13:17 PM

Looking good! Oct difficulty is going to go crazy.
3046  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: September 30, 2013, 08:59:44 PM
In any case, all mrb is doing is running the auction and providing information on the hardware.

No, he's also trying to justify the ROI on them. That's where he's going too far.
3047  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 105 Gh/s ASIC miner: Redhash by TAV. IN STOCK NOW! on: September 30, 2013, 08:42:09 PM
astutiumRob: diff will be 149M at least for domestic customers (which we expect to be the majority of our customer base.) Next diff is estimated to be only 180M per allchains.info, very far from the 298M people were quoting. Also the average worldwide electricity price is $0.10/kWh. It makes sense to pick this one as the default. And again we expect our auction to naturally attract those with lower than average rates.

Don't even try to defend the ROI. It's just not there. These will not break even at the current bid prices unless you have nearly free power.

Ouch. Only 1% of the die is hashing, and not actually showing a real miner hashing? That's it?

3049  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 30, 2013, 04:20:44 PM
Gotcha..., you don't think it will be ~200MM in a week? and like >250MM when you get the full kit?
KNC miners are supposed to be hitting the street soon as well as BF EU kits.

That's going to depend on when Dave actually ships. EU customers are already receiving their kits and mining at 150MM. Huge win for them.
3050  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 30, 2013, 04:05:09 PM
Don't forget to set the Initial Mining Date.
You had it set to September 1st. Try November 1st.

Ignore the date. Just pay attention to the starting difficulty.
3051  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] US/North American Bitfury sales now open ***full prototype pics*** on: September 30, 2013, 03:56:35 PM
Remember that Dave is just a resseler. Tytus is a producer of the boards and founder of 100TH mine. MBP is a host of 200TH mine and is obligated to deliver this hash power as fast as possible. That means no stock for resseling. Punin only resseling thats why he has stock and already sends October orders.

The next two weeks are crucial for ROI. US ROI estimate: http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/15281afd05. Not looking good.

EU customers are going to get decent ROI due to early delivery. http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/a/333c1299c7
3052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 30, 2013, 03:41:55 PM
Let's see what happens. Wink

But you're right, this is a poor effort, it's only a landmark engineering feat, the worlds fastest concept to 28nm silicon.

Ever.

28nm silicon that uses double the energy of a 55nm silicon. I'm not sure you should be bragging about that.
3053  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: September 30, 2013, 06:35:16 AM
This reminds me of when Avalon was supposed to deliver, then didn't for two more months.  I have 3 devices on pre-order so I'm just as anxious as the rest of you, but I don't think a single ASIC company has delivered when they said they would, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Bitfury was delayed a few days, but they announced the delay well in advance of the scheduled ship date. Communication like that makes all the difference.
3054  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Off-Topic on: September 30, 2013, 06:31:01 AM
I am sorry, but I am not running a charity.

Yet you demand your customers donate to you by not giving 100% refunds.
3055  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL ROI on: September 30, 2013, 06:17:41 AM
The question of this thread is whether it makes sense to accept delivery of a 60 GH/s BFL miner, purchased before the price increase (and hashrate reduction), with likely delivery within the next month.

If you can take delivery before the next difficulty adjustment, you have a good chance of ROI. Delivery in a month? No chance of profit.
3056  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL 600GH "Monarch" already postponed to February! on: September 29, 2013, 04:40:15 PM
No Monarchs were promised for a December delivery. Seriously, where are you guys getting this from?

Seriously?

per talking to who ever it was I spoke to trying to get a refund so I can pay more to this fucking tax I owe, they said it would be 1-2 weeks that I would have it, and I could not reject it either beucause it was a business purchase and does not fall under the 14 day law/rule

Perhaps you can remind them of this:

Refunds are offered up to the day of shipment of your order.
3059  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL 600GH "Monarch" already postponed to February! on: September 29, 2013, 03:03:44 AM
I was expecting this, even if they get some units out the door in Nov/Dec, it will be a trickle as Xmas will shut everything down.

The Nov "date" has already been nixed.

We will not be shipping monarchs in November.

Anyone want to bet they miss the December date too?

IF bfl does deliver the first tape out on time, then its a good deal

You mean the "Tape out August 2013" that was due a month ago but doesn't appear to have happened?
