This reminds me of one trader who made a simple mistake ignoring the destination tag when sending XRP from his wallet to an exchange. He asked me if it can be recovered, but sad to say that there’s no way that it can be recovered and will be lost forever. I think he lost like $100+ worth of XRP because of his simple mistake.
In theory, the exchange can recover the funds, but for such a low amount I doubt they'll even care. Things might be different if your friend loses 100$k or so since the exchange would probably earn at least $1k from sending back his crypto. This is why you should never rely on exchange for something like this, double-checking everything is way better even if it takes some time. |

Coba dipastikan dulu itu benar seednya valid apa engga, misalnya pake tool buat ngecek checksumnya. Bisa jadi agan salah tulis/ketik/dst, atau tertukar urutannya, atau yang lainnya. Saran ane pake Electrum aja buat manage walletnya sementara, sebelum agan beli lagi Nano S yang baru atau wallet lainnya.

Well if you're doing repeated transactions with the same amount, time, etc I guess it would be fairly easy compared to random deposit/withdrawals. I mean, that's basically how chain analysis work. If you don't publish any identifiable information such as your identity along with that address, I think at most they'll probably conclude that address X belongs to person A. If you're afraid your receiver find out your identity, why not change your transaction method, or use a different address to do your business. There's also a mixer service on ETH but I never tried them, so that's that.

It's not an illusion since with 1 BTC you can probably buy a good house in a developing country this year, compared to a few years ago when 10k BTC is only a good amount for pizza. If we reach the point where fiat or other currencies are deflationary then the market will eventually decide the price accordingly. You also need to measure that the supply of those things will continue to increase, it's not as if the supply will be stuck and everything becomes scarce. |

Dengan cara ini bakal lebih aman khususnya kalau agan ga pengen tergantung dengan pihak ketiga yang websitenya bisa kena hack atau DNS redirection, walau peluangnya kecil sekalipun. |

Agan udah verifikasi signaturenya belum? Kalau file signaturenya sesuai, kemungkinan cuma false alarm. Smartscreen emang sering ngeblok apps karena false alarm, terutama yang ga kedaftar di database Windows. Mungkin aja belum keupdate, atau ada build yang dipake untuk ngebuat exe versi 4.1.1 kedeteksi sebagai apps malware. Kalau versi 4.1.0 masih bisa dipakai dan ga ada masalah menurut ane pake itu juga ga papa gan.

3. Don't sell anything until after holding onto my amount for at least a year,
so that I can save money on taxes because a long term capital gains tax,

This is not a trading strategy imo, but an investment strategy. You should be fine doing this too if you don't have that much capital or can't really handle the stress of timing when to enter and exit the market. However, doing this strategy requires a lot of work on research if you really want to make huge gains, especially if you're trying to find low marketcap gems. Before you do any trading activities, I suggest learning and practicing with some indicators so you get the basics at the very least. What you imagine and how it happened might be different, especially the emotional part, where a lot of people make mistakes because they're too greedy or too impatient. |

Yes but government banning on/off ramps and illegalising the trade can and will affect the ecosystem. Pushing the whole system underground is the answer but at what cost? can it survive forever underground? will users still want to take a risk of using it? will the community still believe in Bitcoin at this point?

I think they want to control it instead, just take a look at the recent progress on KYC/AML policies and stuff like that. I bet the government will use this to eventually increase their income through taxes, which is way more profitable than banning crypto without any real result. The abuse of the network due to some bad actors will always exist, so trying to increase the control on how, who, where, and when they use it would be a better choice imo. |

Tentu saja ga bakal digubris karena TrustWallet itu bisa dibilang semi-nonkustodial, plus ini kesalahan dari user sendiri karena salah input memo. Ane rasa wajar" aja kalau ga ada alasan buat si TrustWallet atau wallet nonkustodial lainnya untuk membantu user ketika menghadapi masalah kaya gini (mau closed source atau engga). Beda kasusnya kalau misalnya input yang masuk ke apps walletnya bisa berubah sendiri padahal ga ada virus dkk.
Semoga kesalahan serupa ga bakal keulang lagi, selalu double check kalau mau bikin transaksi kripto.

Hal yang mungkin perlu agan pelajari dengan lebih detail adalah cara untuk membuat sebuah bridge/swap tool supaya user bisa pindah" token dari satu jaringan ke yang lainnya tanpa perlu lewat exchange. Beberapa proyek yang udah nerapin ini di antaranya adalah LTO, SHR, ICE, dst. Bisa coba agan cek kode smart contract bridge mereka kalau mau tahu lebih lanjut. Setidaknya agan harus paham Solidity dan beberapa bahasa pemrograman serupa tergantung agan mau pake chain apaan.

That sounds weird, if you truly update the wallet then there should be no error message saying that your version is too old. Looks like you downloaded a fake one claiming to be a 4.0.9 then. I suggest you follow the guide shared above and double-check everything. I do hope you have a backup of your seed just in case something goes wrong.

You should check out hedge funds, they're basically traders. There is no need to question whether trading is a job or not, the question should be how good you are when you do it. If you're terrible, then you won't make any money, and you'll probably lose more than you can chew.
If you want to question whether trading is rightly aligned with religious beliefs or not, I think this is not the right place.

IMO, it was partly an Appstore fault because it was considered negligence on their side and why they let that fake app listed in their Appstore in the first place, this incident was also happening on Google Playstore thats why for precautionary measures check any app thoroughly for both Appstore and Playstore before using it just to make sure it was safe.
According to some articles that I've read, the app was changed after it got approved by Apple. It was a tech app before (not a wallet) and then the attacker changed it when the app is no longer under scrutiny. Apple store should improve their security of course, but any crypto users should never trust these kinds of platforms in the first place. Should've checked on the official Trezor website before checking the app store. Well, hopefully, everyone learns from this and stops losing their money due to bad security practices. |

Kalau boleh tahu kenapa agan mau melakukan hal tersebut? Kalau tujuannya adalah buat backup, yang penting adalah seednya. Jadi agan tinggal simpen seednya aja dengan aman lalu import di wallet baru kalau emang diperlukan. Kalau mau lebih aman lagi gunakan HW untuk mengelola wallet agan. Electrum mobile harusnya jadi hot wallet, saran ane kalau bisa buat dua wallet aja yang berbeda kalau agan ada niat buat nabung dan trading pake BTC sekaligus (jangan lupa seednya diamankan).
