In other word, if BTC cannot be used as a real currency Should I take a picture of me eating a meal cooked exclusively from ingredients produced by local farmers who accept Bitcoin? Another reason to move to Texas, hmmmm?

Well, for what it's worth I've cancelled my sell orders...I get the feeling a spike is incoming. EDIT - BTC promptly stalls at Y5400... almost an hour and a half later, literally stalled, like a flat top you could land a plane on. weird. What magic do you possess?

It's uncanny how the western exchanges are leading the price rise this time. China is lagging along. I'm guessing the hype cycle around bitcoin is already dying down in China, while it's still raging in the western countries.
I hereby officially pronounce you the clown of this forum. Please, keep us entertained. +1 Been ignored here since I read his first few comments. I don't mind bears at all, but when they're being silly-bearish with obviously flawed logics I can't stand it. +1 ignored for a long time. this thread is too fast to monitor, need to chop out the garbage wherever possible. I don't like to miss anything, so I went back and looked for a sensible or even entertaining comment... nope... b-bye.

This place is like an assylum for tourettes sufferers sometimes..... Lots of people running around randomly shouting "BOTTOM" at every opportunity.
TS does not preclude appreciation of a good bottom. I promise.

Since it is clear we are likely to have more then one bubble a year now, I think it is prudent that we start naming them. Appending the year as the prefix of the bubble just doesn't cut it anymore.
where is this second bubble you speak of? I think we just call overshoot/corrections "bubbles" now. Even April looks nothing like a bubble if you look at the long term charts. I wanted to start with an insult but that serves zero purpose..crash in april.. from 266 to 50 will say.. = .188 = it shrunk too 18.8% of its value. The recent correction this week from 900 to 414 = .46 = it shrunk by 46% or half its value.. The april crash would have been much larger in impact on peoples holdings. I realize I am basing this on opinion and some reading.. but.. you invest 10k in april you lost 82% of what you invested that same 10k last week you only lost 44%. and if you waited 3 days you didn't really lose anything. CryptoMinter's little photoshop is a lovely picture of what happened if you blinked a couple times.

the crash got cancelled right?

That moringa thing, could you realistically grow it on a 30 feet boat? Been wondering about self-sustainability out to sea, got everything except food (theoretically) covered.
I've heard that there are plenty of fish in the sea...

I'm simply commenting about the rate it is rising. Find one day from 2013 with a 100% rise...
I guess November 18th would be the obvious one...

So I go to sleep for a few hours and - wtf just happened??? If I wasn't able to look at a chart of the last few hours and see the rise to 618 and correction to 531 and then climb again, then all I would know is that I went to sleep when Gox was 520 and woke up to see 580 - which wouldn't have been surprising at all, just normality for the last week same. I thought 'train's still moving'. Then I looked at the highs and charts. Boing! Nothing to see here, move along!

One thing to keep in mind:
Say FC does come out with guns blazing and reclaims the 10% hash. Total weekly blocks (on average) for 10% of the network is right around 100 blocks,(6 per hour * 24 hours * 7 days)
100 blocks times 25 btc = 2500 btc /week.
Those redistributed to 400,000 shareholders = 0.00625 per share
At $530 per btc that is $3.31 per share per week.
At $1000 per btc, that is $6.25 per share per week.
At $5000 per btc that is $31.25 per share per week.
With btc at $5000 you would need only 32 shares to make $1000 per week in dividends.
With btc rising as rapidly as they are, the need to capture a good percentage of the global hash becomes critical. Of course, I did not remove expenses, or add franchising, or hardware sales, etc. I just wanted to show what you could do just by capturing a good chunk of the network hash.
If you thought btc would rise 10-fold, why not just accumulate btc? You would. An income stream is priceless though, so some thought to benefits without consuming your principle is in order. In the BTC world, AM is still about the steadiest safe earner, not to mention highest yielding. Assuming dividends and prices have stabilized. Its been several days, you know!
