3061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blowing the lid off the CryptoNote/Bytecoin scam (with the exception of Monero) on: October 10, 2018, 12:13:47 AM
Well, looks like you were right, Bytecoin just got delisted from Binance for exactly these reasons.

They have failed to meet most of their developmental goals, their development team sucks balls and they have absolutely nothing great to show for the years they have put into the coin. If it's not great already, it probably never will be. Good riddance.

The question is different. Why BINANCE allowed to add BCN to stock exchange. Did they not bother to learn about the history of the coin in the past? It seems that the money that they paid for the listing was played here in order to crank out another fraudulent scam, otherwise why was it to flip a coin and after a short time to declare delisting? There are more questions than binance than answers.

Most exchanges will accept coins if there is sufficient buy/sell movements as they make money. They don't research anything, they just let people vote probably... Tongue

Fuck BCN, but I will say without Monero coming away from it, is one of the best things to ever happen to me! Cheesy

Were people allowed to turn their notes in for other valid currency? or anyone who was holding these just lost their money?

The notes went out of use in 1980 and were made completely worthless in 2000.

While 20 years may seem like a generous amount of time, many people lost a lot of money.

Grandparents passed away with large amounts of their successors inheritance hidden in mattresses. Others lost millions due to the fact that they were stored in safe deposit boxes and safes.

20 years seems to be a good amount of time for people to get them cashed out, seems reasonable to me I guess, but still, that's a lot of money into the wind. Tongue

Yes, Monero community has agreed to make hardforks regularly. But they are all expected and collectively accepted by community. If you want to evolve you need to make changes.
With this fork Bulletproofs will be added which should result in lower fees and other new features. Read this https://www.reddit.com/r/Monero/comments/9igfub/what_does_the_hard_fork_on_the_18th_of_october/ to get more info.
Bulletproofs, sounds good because this one can bring lower fees and several new features for Monero users.
So, what should I do to keep my coins safely during the forking period to come?

Keep reading backwards, ffs.....

You don't have to do anything but keep up to the latest code base basically:

Is anyone else here doing BGS grading on all the various types of 83 cards? I've never done it before and not sure how to label the cards on the form etc.    Huh

Thanks

Maybe... I keep seeing the BGS cards pop up on ebay

I had never graded a card until recently. I sent 1 of the base cards into PSA    https://www.psacard.com/

I was told that they are the "standard" of the industry...   as the 2 most expensive cards ever sold were both graded by PSA. :O

Thanks man, I'll have a look. I assumed BGS was more popular, sorry! Tongue

Do you really think it's worth that much though?  Roll Eyes

Not sure if anyone is aware but, the base mini's are nearly gone.  There are no longer any of the rare mini's on ebay.  Will probably need to open packs to possibly find one, good luck to all Shocked

Does anyone recall last card to take off like this?

Haven't been into cards in a long time, so I don't know, but .... I like it a lot! Cheesy
