DRK with all its shady supply tricks is almost benign compared to this new breed of shitcoins.

Can you elaborate on why you believe that XMR is a new breed of shitcoin? I'm actually interested in your opinion. thanks.

He's on the Monero core team, that's very much NOT what he was saying;)

The "new breed of shitcoin" he's referring to is in his previous sentence: "Meanwhile, most of the 'competition' consists of 3 to 7 day PoW followed by PoS."

Ah, my bad, so sorry!! I completely missed that part, and I do agree, those coins are shit!.. Thanks for correcting me! Smiley

edit - they should rename PoS as EoL, for End Of Life... Cheesy

Keep geting this problem when running bitmonerod. Application keeps showing red wording and disconnections.

Also dont have a c:\users\tom folder anywhere?

Any ideas anyone please. Running version 0.8.8.1

disconnects and the red errors are all normal/common - i get the same thing all the time. (That must have been the developer's build directory - c:\tom\whatever .... )

edit - once it fully syncs, they should become far less frequent. Smiley

cheers!

Thanks for your reply. Still get this problem when fully synced:

Same here - someone replied a few (hundred?) pages back that it was normal as well, something along the lines of peers flooding each other... sorry i can't remember, but yes, it's annoying but "normal" - this coin is still a WIP, as you can tell by the wallet....

8727  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v3.1 on: June 21, 2014, 04:58:29 PM
Claymore's MRO/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner.
=========================

Current version: 3.1:

- Improved mining speed by about 20% for all cards.
- Improved stability.
- Fixed some bugs.
- Reduced power consumption (compared to v3.0).

Link:
https://mega.co.nz/#F!e4JVEAIJ!l1iF4z10fMyJzY5-LnyC2A

This is POOL version.

Catalyst 13.12 is required for best performance and compatibility.

Set "GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT" environment variable as "100".

For multi-GPU systems, set Virtual Memory size in Windows at least 16 GB:
"Computer Properties / Advanced System Settings / Performance / Advanced / Virtual Memory".

This miner is free-to-use, however, current developer fee is 5%, miner mines 19 rounds for you and 1 round for developer.

This version is for recent AMD videocards only: 7xxx and 2xx, perhaps it also works on 6xxx. No nVidia support.

This version is for Windows x64 only. No Windows x32 support. No Linux support.

This version has no GPU temperature and overclocking management.

COMMAND LINE OPTIONS:

-o    pool address. Both HTTP and Stratum protocol are supported. You can specify several "-o" parameters to use several pools, or use "pools.txt" file.

-u    your wallet address.

-p    password, use "x" as password.

-di    GPU indexes, default is all available GPUs. For example, if you have four GPUs "-di 02" will enable only first and third GPUs.

-wd    watchdog option. Use "-wd 1" to enable watchdog, miner will be closed if any thread is not responding for 1 minute, so you can restart it from some script if
some GPU does not respond.

-ee    close miner if no more pools are available in the list. By default, miner tries all pools one by one, after last pool it tries first pool again and so on.
Use "-ee 1" to close miner when it tried all pools, so you can restart it from some script and do some additional actions related to internet connectins if necessary.

-dbg   debug log and messages. "-dbg 0" (default) - create log file but don't show debug messages.
"-dbg 1" - create log file and show debug messages. "-dbg -1" - no log file and no debug messages.

SAMPLE USAGE

NsGpuCNMiner.exe -o stratum+tcp://monero.crypto-pool.fr:6666 -u 449TGay4WWJPwsXrWZfkMoPtDbJp8xoSzFuyjRt3iaM4bRHdzw4qoDu26FdcGx67BMDS1r2bnp7f5hF 6xdPWWrD3Q3Wf7G6 -p x

Do not forget to specify your wallet address!

FAILOVER

Use "pools.txt" to specify several pools. This file has text format, one address per line. If the first character of a line is ";" this line will be ignored.

PERFORMANCE

About 600 h/s on stock 290X.
About 450 h/s on stock 280X.
About 300 h/s on stock 270X.

TROUBLESHOOTING

1. Install Catalyst v13.12.
2. Disable overclocking.
3. Set GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100.
4. Set Virtual Memory 16 GB.
5. Reboot computer.

ADDITIONAL

Claculate profit: http://monero.crypto-pool.fr/#community in chat type "!calc 1000" to check profit for 1000 h/s; there are also "!worth" and "!price" commands.

Does anyone have a link to this that works?  Thanks! Smiley

hey guys!

So how do you handle this?
Did you have any fails with withdrawls to poloniex or small amounts under 1XMR?

i have about 50 xmr on bittrex. i'm not to worried. never used poloniex sorry. i could send them elsewhere, but why bother? this currency is still very young yet super-promising, so i'm holding out for the long haul.

(Disclaimer - never invest more than you can lose, anywhere ,anyhow! - i can lose 50 xmr and not cry. but, can you? - thanks! Smiley

edit 2 - once a real wallet app is out for this, then i will move it off of bittrex. I don't even think i can withdraw to simplewallet anyhow actually, it's apparently not capable or some such bs.
8729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 17, 2014, 10:37:20 PM
@GreekBitcoin thanks for the IRC suggestion, will try.

Spoke with the "wallet manager" poloniex guy there. He assured me he will push Tristan on this matter, but nothing else for the moment. He said he couldn't credit my balance back too. So this big withdrawal literrally vanished as of now.

well at least i'm not alone. sorry for your loss as well. Sad

edit - not poloniex but transfer of 1.25 XMR from minergate.com never appears in my simplewallet. maybe this is why the coin appears to be dumping a bit... Sad
8730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 17, 2014, 08:58:38 PM
So i withdrew 1.25 XMR from minergate.com to simplewallet address, but it was an hour ago and my wallet shows no sign of it, and also the txid is not findable on moneroblockchain... is this normal? i double checked my public address, but i don't know how to see it on the blockchain, or if you can (yes i don't know a lot about xmr yet ) Smiley

edit - the tx hash is : 7e04abb9b94e7a5438cab2e868952ecadae71545b94b414bf950b299a0b9fed6

(yes i've run refresh etc etc) Wink

thanks!

Hi does anyone know how to get coins stuck "in stake" back out to spendable? is there a command to force them out in debug window, or do i just have to wait? thanks!
8732  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 14, 2014, 09:31:12 PM
^It's still working for me.

it was briefly disabled on bittrex main wallet page, but this link always works.  https://bittrex.com/Market/Index?MarketName=BTC-XMR
8733  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - Secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: June 05, 2014, 01:38:11 PM

weird, for some reason on the wallet page it says disabled and the link is removed to the market. no way to withdraw though, just buy/sell.. Sad
