3061  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do Bitcoin Wallet has an age limit? (18yrs. old ++) on: February 17, 2016, 02:11:15 PM
Because they have to comply with legal laws and all that crap, but it's useless and pointless since anyone of any age can download Core wallet and start sending and receiving payments without no authorization of anyone, so they are trying to stop something that's unstoppable by design, let them waste their time while we improve the software.
3062  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Giveaway on Bloomberg on: February 17, 2016, 01:24:13 PM
This is great news. I wonder when we can see this in the main bloomberg (english edition) so we get a lot of exposure. They sometimes invite people to talk about Bitcoin but seeing it live making a demonstration doing that is always way more attractive than whatever a Bitcoin enthusiast can explain about it.
3063  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: VISA "token" to be Bitcoin killer? (warning, warning, click bait) on: February 17, 2016, 01:04:57 PM
Paypal is already that token, Bitcoin is not competing to be a payment system, Bitcoin is competing as a currency, that's why it's not direct competition.

Also once we have Lightning Network operative we will be able to compete at those levels of transaction, until then that is as stupid as Bitcoin Classic.
3064  Economy / Gambling / Re: What would you do if you bet max and get this 2 times? on: February 16, 2016, 04:31:10 PM
I would try to get that 1 BTC, but if you lose, you take your 0.1 BTC loss and go home and don't play for an entire month. During this month you must work to regain that 0.1 BTC and hopefully make more BTC than that, then try again. That's what I do, limit my playing as much as possible to never lose more money than I can afford to lose.
3065  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Brain Wallets on: February 16, 2016, 04:26:15 PM
The main risk is an attacker doesn't need to physically own a local file to try to bruteforce your password. This is why im too paranoid to not use anything that doesn't require a local file that you own, software wise thats why Bitcoin Core is the best I can think, and for cold storage a paper wallet. Im just too paranoid to trust brain wallets.
3066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: February 16, 2016, 01:20:29 PM
The dollar is systematically already dead, it's just surviving on mere network effect and imposition and monopoly of a goverment that will ruin your life if you aren't using dollar, so what do we do? We just wait for the system to finally collapse so real sustainable alternatives like Bitcoin can shine and reach trillions and trillions dollars of a marketcap because everyone will be looking for alternatives, and Bitcoin is THE alternative.
3067  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: February 16, 2016, 12:23:29 PM
The best way for me has been to put the money where the big alt projects are, and just wait for a mega pump that would at least double my BTC. I have had success with XMR, ETH and now MAID will pump to all time highs during the next weeks so measly profits awaits us.
3068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin 1mb or Bitcoin 2mb on: February 16, 2016, 11:57:05 AM
Lightning Network is the only way to make Bitcoin scale. Making blocksize go from 1mb to 2mb solves absolutely nothing. You seem a bit confused about this and sound new, I recommend you do some reading on this before jumping on conclusions that may look like the right thing to do at first but then later on you realize it wasn't.
3069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin used to do money laundering - will it become a huge problem? on: February 16, 2016, 11:55:07 AM
I don't find it a huge problem right now. Bitcoin exchanges are mostly regulated and there is mostly a limit to the amount that can be traded. This is an disadvantage for those trying to do money laundering. Even with localbitcoins, there is low liquidity and some would even require an ID.

But the amounts are not cumulative, so you can slowly take your BTC out of an exchange like Poloniex using a fake name (since they only require your name and you can put a fake one) and then every month you get your BTC or whatever out without no one realizing. And if they start being cunts you can always go to another exchange that will not spy on your wealth.
3070  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers demand $3m bitcoin ransom from hospital to unlock vital files on: February 16, 2016, 11:53:31 AM
If the hospital used a decentralized way to store data instead of storing all data in the same place, they would not be facing said problems. You can thank Bitcoin to teach you the lesson of decentralization sooner than later.
3071  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best strategy in Roulette ? on: February 15, 2016, 04:34:05 PM
Red or Black is best strategy i think, it's 50/50, you win or you go home, so it's all about luck
but still the chance is under 50% because i had several times play roulette and very difficult to not lost during play this game but i was heard that some people could won a lot from playing this game

People winning a lot is due to their luck. Some people hit it rich and win millions of dollars from the lottery, does this mean anyone can win the lottery? Yes, but a very slim chance. If you have luck you can win a lot, otherwise you'll lose it all.

Sometimes people think that when someone wins a lot of money in gambling they think they have some sort of elaborate strategy about it, but at the need the day it's just all luck. I have hit some really lucky strike in the casino and people thought I was using some sort of scheme but I was just having consistent luck through the night somehow.
3072  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin : Lifespan of storage media - What will you choose? on: February 15, 2016, 03:42:40 PM
I have my wallet.dat file copied over several hard disk and a couple of USB flash drives, for now that's all, I have considered moving all my main funds to a paper wallet but im actually scared that i would end up lossing the paper and not being able to find it, or someone stealing it or something (even tho I would hide it at home). Im too paranoid to move my funds from Bitcoin Core at this point so I will be making backups every X months to new usb flash drives, I think its impossible that I lose all of my backups at once so I will always have one to make new ones.
3073  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Flexcap is the solution on: February 15, 2016, 03:25:17 PM
The video should not even be linked here. You're comparing Verizon's network to Bitcoin's network (centralized vs. decentralized). It is much easier for them to scale upwards. Anyhow, you're talking about dynamic blocks right? Was not this suggested about half a year ago; why bring it up now?

Yeah, for some reason most people fail to realize that it's way easier to scale for the current payment processors because they are centralized, so what do uninformed people say? let's just make the blocksize huge or whatever other cheap workaround to compete against VISA.

How about we are patient and wait for LN. LN is our hope to scale globally while remaining decentralized, so show your support and stop looking for alternatives to that unless your alternative is better and doesn't centralize the blockchain.
3074  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You DO NOT NEED 6 confirmations. on: February 15, 2016, 03:10:25 PM
Most people that are complaining about stuff like this go out and have no problem paying with credit cards with have 180 days of confirmation, bunch of idiots complaining as always.
Lightning Network will will allow for VISA level of volume transactions with several order of magnitude safer. Bitcoin with LN will kill every single competitor.
3075  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guys, is there a wallet with SMS(text MSG) verification ? on: February 15, 2016, 02:58:49 PM
Blockchain.info, and about any online wallet that is decent will have 2FA. I would never use an online wallet for any amount of BTC that I was scared to lose tho, the rest you should put it on Core or paper wallets. But anything hosted on a browser should have 2FA.
3076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hahahaha, what a plonker on: February 15, 2016, 02:54:25 PM
Again this must be a hoax/troll act to get traffic, this guy is going to turn his career into a professional troll, just like that guy that says "here in my garage" (Tai Lopez). Those guys will use whatever they can to get more fame and therefore more ad revenue, that's their business.
3077  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: martin Shkreli loses 37,000 bitcoins (10 transactions = $15 million) yesterday. on: February 15, 2016, 02:47:30 PM
This seems like yet another troll act (this guy is just a walking troll act it seems to be honest).

""My parents are going to kill me, my mom warned me about dealing with these kinds of people.  I lost $45 million the day I got arrested... I make about $15 million a month. How am I going to pay Drake now?"

And what about Sitoshi? This has to be a joke, just more antics to get more money, that's all.
3078  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Will Not Survive", says Jamie Dimon on: February 14, 2016, 03:09:11 PM
There are a lot of believers of bitcoins who want to bitcoin for their rest of life. They are trying to spread it to each corner of the world so that to make it the global digital currency. As long as people love bitcoins, it will survive. No one can stop it from staying with us.

I am one of those believers. I want to talk to my friends and relatives about bitcoin. Most of the time, it is not well received.

Im also not comfortable talking about Bitcoin because talking about alternatives to normal money is too cutting edge and you are always portrayed a s weirdo, but over time slowly it will become mainstream by itself. Also lets not forget that even if it never becomes super mainstream, it does not mean it cannot reach a trillion marketcap just as gold (who the hells owns gold or talks about owning gold with their family and friend.. no one).
3079  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your least favorite thing about Bitcoin? on: February 14, 2016, 02:57:37 PM
The worst thing about people are the FUDsters that criticize it for fake reasons. The blockstream hate for example, it's pretty frustrating since they are the guys contributing the most to scale it worldwide, but I will not give up and in the end it will be demonstrated that Bitcoin was able to scale and do all the cool things we dream about now.
3080  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best strategy in Roulette ? on: February 13, 2016, 05:26:10 PM
I always use the same strategy: Retreat when you are comfortable with your gains. As soon as you get some gains, just leave whatever you are playing and start doing something else, because no matter what technique you use, you eventually screw up, including Martingale which is proven to be no that effective.
