We're blasting through the blocks. #479808 should be here in another hour or two. Anyone have bets on what the new difficulty will adjust to?

69275432296.7 approximately.

Difficulty now 68222137509.71. I was close but no cigar. I though the biggest difficulty drop was 40%. Apparently it's not exactly 40%. I'll have to brush up on this.

Also, lots more hash rate coming on Monday:

Why the quote from Wu with the tweet? Is BTC.top a segwit fan pool?

I believe so

I just researched. BTC top did not start signalling support for Segwit until block 476775 at Thursday, July 20th 2017, 19:39:56 -06:00. Not exactly what I would consider a staunch segwit supporter. More like deciding to go along with BIP91, which all the pools did so they wouldn't get their blocks orphaned.

Roll Eyes so is becoin lol...doesnt mean much, unless there is a large number of legends.

as for the number you keep going on about...i did put it in brackets, that i made it up  Tongue ...not my fault you took it so serious  Cheesy ..i mean why..why so serious lol

so bones...lol, tells me this , since your so gd with numbers,

is it possible that the current 45% can become 500% (if price reaches 1.0) and even higher?

If I plug in the figures on CoinWarz, if BCH price was on parity with BTC with a rig that hashed 9.46TH at 2600 W and .10 KW/hr. You would profit 82.74 a day with BCH and 4.88 per day with BTC. That would actually be about 1695%. So your 500% is a lowball estimate.
yea it was an estimate...
but wow your numbers are awesome...lol thanks m8
thats like almost 17x more profit for mining bch over segwitcoin if both were 1.0...honestly if you were a miner what would you do?

The most logical thing to do is to switch. Of course there is the consideration of stability. A miner might be concerned that by the time they can get their BCH to market, the price would crash. If they were mining to HODL, they would be speculating that the long term price of Bitcoin Cash would hold.

Furthermore, there are not enough pools currently available for miners to enroll with. I tried about a week or two ago to enroll with ViaBTC, and it wouldn't let me. I tried to enlist with Bitclub about two years ago, and they would not take US customers. The hashrate on suprnova and Bitcoin.com are rather low. I rented some hash for shits and giggles and pointed it to Bitcoin.com, but it does not appear that they will be hitting a block anytime soon. Antpool needs to get up and running with BCH. UAHF is Wu's brain child after all. He needs to give his customers the chance to share in the bounty. (We are not certain, but it is probable the mystery hash is Bitmain's private ASICS.)

^ ..and who are you? lol

anyways...here you go

Blockchain Overview
There have been 1198 blocks mined since the hard fork.
(1556 blocks behind the original chain)

The Bitcoin Cash blockchain is currently operating at 13% of the original chain's difficulty.

The original chain has grown 2.35GB more than the Bitcoin Cash blockchain.

It is currently 45% more profitable to mine on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain.

You didn't add the bit about miners on the other chain losing 10 billion dollars a day. There is nothing to debunk here. Completely factual.

And who am I? I'm a Legendary. Doesn't that alone get any respect around here anymore? Grin

it's a perfect balance of "forces" ...

It is not. The same diagram is needed but for ASIC manufacturers.

Some deep pockets need to fund reverse engineering that chip. Surely, its worth somebody's while. Or is it?

I can't quite remember off the top of my head somebody can get more technical.

From what I understood is that BCC remains truer to the BTC before the switch than the BTC now does to the BTC before August 1st.

Satoshi would have preferred the community come to a consensus rather than create contentious hardforks. Oh well, he also made his program open sourced, and therefore permissionless. Therefore, let these rebels enjoy their coup.  Kiss

Hmm, my withdrawals have been going smoothly these last few days, but now, trying to log in I'm getting "502 Bad Gateway".

Anyone else see this? Maintenance maybe?

 Huh

Same for me. Hopefully this is a maintenance issue.

Is that Ver on stamp with a 100BTC sell at 4060?

Hope so. I watched several 100+ BTC walls get eaten on Bitfinex about 8 hours ago for cheap. If it Ver, the sooner he can dispose of his large BTC stash and convert to BCH, the better. Good riddance! At least Ver isn't trying to just dump all his BTC in one fell swoop. (If it is Ver.) How many does he own?

Any reason 50% of BCH buy is in KRW ?

Because those South Koreans decided to abandon the kimchi and gobble up some BCH..

Cos its a pump and its going to catch a lot of users out on the dump

Let's see what happens on block 479808, when the difficulty may drop 40%. It may actually be worth it for me to dig out my old Rockminer and put up with the noise. It may even be worth it for me to plug in my USB stick.  Cheesy

So is this the shitcoin top, or is the coup de grāce still to be seen?

I feel like the grand finale is still coming. Like right before SegWit activates. Or maybe that's what everyone else is thinking too.

I'm afraid Bitcoin Cash will be like Michael Myers. It will keep coming back no matter what is thrown at it. Let's hope BTC is like Laurie Strode, though.

Bitcoin blocks going slower and Bitcoin Cash blocks going faster , are miners switching to mine Bitcoin Cash now ? any explanation ?

Yes. Really wish Bitmain would let their Antpool and Hashnest users have the option to mine Bitcoin Cash. After all, it's probably Bitmain that is behind the "mystery" miners. Can't they share the bounty with their customers? I only have 157 GH of S9 on Hashnest, but it would be nice to have an option. Probably, it's very difficult to program in the changes though...

If you can point your miners at other pools.

Hashnest is cloud mining. I don't own any miners myself. (Actually, I do, but they are obsolete.) I live in an apartment, and the noise of a Asic miner just isn't going to work for me. The noise of the fans are about as irritating as scratching a chalkboard to me. Sometimes, even the fan on my desktop and cable box irritate me.

It is currently 30% more profitable to mine on the Bitcoin Cash blockchain Shocked

It would help if Bitmain opened up Antpool to Bitcoin Cash as well as Hashnest, instead of doing all the mining on their private Asics.

Segwitcoin miners are currently losing $10billion per day by not switching (#is from my head but prob not far off lol)

Where on Earth are you coming up with 10 billion dollars per day? If Bitcoin Cash went for $1000 per coin, that would be $12,500 per block. The miners would need to mine 800,000 blocks in one day, to make 10 Billion dollars. That would be more than 9 blocks per second. The network would definitely fork all over the place at that rate.  Roll Eyes

Bitcoin hasn't even mined 800,000 blocks in its entire existence....

hi guys there is a good easy pool to mine bch with nicehas rent sha 256?

That's a good way to dispose of your BTC for BCH. Suprnova was running a pool. They mined one whole block many days ago. But I don't know if it is still up or if Ocminer just wanted to make a special statement. Cheesy
