What does that added node do?

Is it necessary? Does it gain anything to run for the pool?

I run a node in NEW JERESY.

would it help pool to configure it in a special way.

If anyone wants a free coupon   for 100 usd for 1  s-7 send me a pm.

Do I think op should jump in on at s-7?

only if he can afford to lose money.  Right now I think 6 or 7 cent power stands some kind of a shot.

In regards to share/5N/payout is there a difference how I spread the rental assault?
As an example:
X-Wing Starfighter sneaking behind Endor for days (with ~5TH fire power)
vs
Star Destroyer one pass over Tatooine for hour (with ~2PH fire power)
both having same total?

only that hitting heavy during the death star's weakest time spots may pay more bonus money.

May 4th of course would be  a very weak time for the death star.

Definitely enjoying the Star Wars references in the replies Grin

And, about 9PH currently hashing away on the pool...

my 66.66 th rental and my .13th in sticks keep chugging along.

Okay rules

3)you get one play.

If its one lifetime play then I tried my luck last time so ignore my pick. If its one play every difficulty retarget then all fine.

I will clarify rule 3) from

3)you get one play

to  3)you get one play per adjustment. which must be yours alone, in proper format and can not be changed

Picks are now open!

30714  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Solar array starting to look good. on: May 04, 2016, 05:26:51 AM
Wow awesome!  Glad to hear that.

So far nothing has happened since this post. It was not much so I thought it would happen.

Back to this post I was given 50 coupons from another forum member he asked to to give them away on the forum. So I now have multiple coupons the $100 ones I am looking to give them away.  1 or 2 to each one that asks me.

Even though I do not buy any gear from them the 100 dollar coupons are a good deal,if you want a miner.

So.
I have no problem giving them away.

Oh -- I'm using the 3333 port since the group of miners is only 20T...

Should I bump it to the 3334?

Or -- is that too low of hash for that port?

how many in the group?

if 8 or more  it could be the issue.

When I had 14 sp20's.

I could not do 9 to mmpool.org under 1 mining name.

I think I could not do more then 6 to kano.is under  1 mining name.

This was with sp20's not s-7's or  avalon6's

I ended up using 3 accounts at mmpool.org  with 4 or five miners to each one.

So you could make up 5 workers and use 3 miners per worker.
30717  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: After the halving will bitcoin mining become not viable? on: May 04, 2016, 02:42:24 AM
How would you like to have your income cut in half by a sudden announcement? If you're a masochist, you will enjoy it; if you're not, stay away from getting into mining at this time. Too much uncertainty.

How do you know the price will double? If you're sure, invest in bitcoin directly. Why take a chance at mining, with Diff rising?

Sudden announcement?  We know about having LONG before it happens so sudden announcement is not true at all.   Look at difficulty changes: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty.  We have almost halved not to long ago due to just new gear being plugged in:

Feb 19 2016    163,491,654,909    13.44%    1,170,318,852 GH/s
Feb 07 2016    144,116,447,847    20.06%    1,031,625,717 GH/s
Jan 26 2016    120,033,340,651    5.89%    859,232,121 GH/s
Jan 13 2016    113,354,299,801    9.12%    811,421,684 GH/s

Jan 13 - Feb 19.  Look at those stats so having... we can cause losing 1/2 of mining income due to normal expansion.  And no one can be sure on what will happen on having or what pricing will be.

To add to notlist3d's comment

@talks_cheep This is going to be a "long shot" but the next halving (12.5 to 6.25) I believe will happen around block 630,000 Wink Now that you've been warned of the next one happening you can prepare.

to me  that one will be more important then this one.  I will weather this okay  maybe not good or great but at least okay.

A lot I think will depend on value to.  And that is where speculation becomes hard as value predicting months away... just is tough.  I don't think most can do it accurately.

So me weathering the having really depends on value I think.   Also next gen can possibly become a factor.... again speculation here is hard to say.  We don't know many final specs, and don't know prices/dates so... a lot right now is up in the air.

That why I sold 9 coins to shift more of my crypto investment to cash.
I still have coins and gear.
I also have the small eth coin farm.
So I have   Four ways to be okay.
30718  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: IBM 2880W PSU not working on: May 03, 2016, 11:50:15 PM
Hi guys,

I have one IBM 2880W PSU not working. The top green light turns on when I plug it in, but the bottom light does not, and the fans won't turn on.

Do any of you have any ideas on what's wrong? Do I need a new fan pack? If so, where can I buy one?

Thanks again all for your help!

and do you have others that work?

ie do you have a breakout board?

plugging them in does not turn them on you need a breakout board.

are you sending it 240 volts if you do have the break out board?

the only breakout board builder

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=893159.0

my threads  read them
as the gear has issues on high power draw per jack.

30719  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] First Ethereum ASIC Miners, by LightMiner Ltd on: May 03, 2016, 11:33:08 PM
To the op.  I have demoed tons of gear and I am well respected here as a really honest person.

Send me the usb stick  I will demo it for a week and send it back to anywhere you want.

If you are real you will jump on the chance to show the gear is real and works. As the gear will sell out.

To anyone looking at the thread.

I went to the site.  The chips are specced to use .4 watts  there are 80 chips in the big unit.

so 1 chip does  200/80 or 2.5 mh

my problem is 80 chips x .4 = 320 watts  so the big unit should use 80 x .4 = 320 watts to get 200 mh

the usb stick has 6 chips  uses 2.5 watts it is very close to  .4 watts   so six chips  is 6 x 2.5 mh or 15 mh

now a stick for 149 using  6 chips and 2.5 watts doing 15mh   is really good. but they do not say what the stick mines at.

the gear at 1699 using 80 chips and 450 watts doing 200 mh  is not that good  in fact if they are doing this it is overclocked like a mofo.

Back to op if you have the gear and only have a limited supply why not just mine with it?

All in all if the gear exists it will hurt the coin.

you may need to just wait.

this is correct board.  i will ask mods to move it.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=4.0

if it can't be pushed it takes 2 days to drop off and come back to you.

i have had it happen on blockchain.info
