3081  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1win on Bitcointalk! on: February 19, 2022, 05:15:42 PM
I guess you aren't 100% prepared to introduce your site here yet. You still lack information and details about your site. People here are curious about what you offer so I hope that you'll do something by at least putting up a good reputation through buying a copper membership. That would help you to gain the trust of most users.
OP post is more likely to have an announcement that they are here in bitcointalk, and more likely will assist if someone needs help which is more like an ANN thread or similar.

Also, don't be confused of having copper membership is the same to have a reputation here. They are completely different.
3082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto stuck in sports betting site, now they want KYC on: February 19, 2022, 03:31:17 PM
I dont know if the problem is fixed already but your only choice is to proceed the KYC they're asking. But of course it will leave a great risk since you're already gave them a fake information so you will provide them a fully fake information and its a big no no.
3083  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Warning] luckyfish.io is CLOSING on: February 19, 2022, 03:17:08 PM
why is the site still functioning and asking for registration till now but according to the site they are supposed to be closed by December 30 2021? is that the real thing? maybe updating this thread of yours will help people understanding that is the situation now.
I don't know why the website is up, maybe because to warn its users, but you will face an error when you try to register the website "register error". It's just that its the first you can see - the registration page, when you access the website.
3084  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoinpaperwallet.com - scam still alive? on: February 19, 2022, 10:45:38 AM

There is a big jump from a website to a mobile and desktop wallets! When you open a website you have no idea what you are running and what you are sending to that website's servers and you have no way of knowing it. But with a desktop/mobile wallet you have a choice to download and install what is open source so you can verify that it is not doing something malicious.
Yes, I know the advantages of open source compare the other one. But how you can assure that the app you're going to install is the one or have full copy of the code that is publicly available for viewing on github is the same? Since you're going to install the app from app store or play store?

Coz what I have in mind is, the developers  or anyone can update the code (with malicious or not) of the app and then upload it on this mobile distribution services using their compromised accounts, without updating the code in github of course.
Is this possible? How it can be avoided without downloading the app fist just to try it and become the first victim?
3085  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: BTC.com (wallet) shutting down on: February 19, 2022, 10:31:57 AM
This is what happened when you run a wallet that is fully dependent to the business' operation or website's server unlike running like an open source and non-custodial.

People already know what are the disadvantages and cons when using this kind of wallet. Plus their wallet service seems is a long dead already.
3086  Other / Meta / Re: Why I love Bitcointalk! on: February 19, 2022, 08:38:54 AM
You're wrong here:
  • "Hate speech" is allowed, but it shouldn't just be name calling.
  • Post length doesn't matter to determine if it's spam.
"But", it is still the same, so it will be deleted soon as someone reports it, it also depends on the mod who handled it.

Yes, i know. Not all but most, as op is generalizing it as you can use those words freely which is probably not.
3087  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Few lessons learned from my past to keep up with crypto on: February 18, 2022, 10:14:07 PM
Well, experience is the best teacher after all.

Another thing, don't put all your eggs in one basket, incase a hack incident even though that the trading website always tell their funds is always safe, always be vigilant and do things on your own.
3088  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why I can't access a casino while my country isn't got blacklisted? on: February 18, 2022, 09:37:28 PM
For me, it's clear that this is the problem with your ISP which is blocked by the casino you are playing because there is no other way but to use a VPN
If this is the reason, the casino displays that your IP is blocked accessing the website or similar message.

Mostly this is because of few reasons. Like if the casino website have some third party ddos security layer, and your IP was included in their black lists.

Solution is contact the website support through their social media handles, ask their emails for support ticket and ask if you they can whitelist your IP.
3089  Other / Meta / Re: Why I love Bitcointalk! on: February 18, 2022, 09:04:48 PM
Freedom of speech - you can use those words freely
Not until your post was reported, due of hate speech, short post considered as spam, trolling, and being off topic Cheesy. Well, bitcointalk is more censored than you could imagine though.

Bounties - please don't hate me — it's nice extra income. When pandemic started it was my saving grace.
Everyone loves bounties, even mods need to be compensated as well.

Discussions: This forum is filled with all kind of species, I love it.
In serious, services discussions, yes. In bitcoin discussion and the rest, no, may be slightly if the thread is new, but once it reaches 5 pages or so it becomes the nest of spammers.

History: many historical moments are etched here (pizza guy, satoshi, Hal Finney, ethereum/vitalik, etc)
Not to mention there is an automatically archives in every posts here with the help of other members, so as long those archive websites are up, history will be saved.
3090  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoinpaperwallet.com - scam still alive? on: February 18, 2022, 08:35:55 PM
Good idea. Google is best for this coz they are the most common search engine used by ordinary people who doesn't have an idea about these websites and to avoid it appearing in the search query as well. Well, as long as many people report it.
In any case people shouldn't be using a website to create their bitcoin wallets in first place! That's just silly and extremely insecure regardless of what website you are using or who controls it.
So when and how bitcoin wallets in mobiles and desktop is considered to be insecured too? The difference is only the latter needs  installation.
3091  Economy / Services / Re: Winz.io Casino $5,500 Paint Art Competition [Finished, Winners Announced] on: February 18, 2022, 02:10:47 AM
Haha. Never thought my entry will be on top 10, maybe even I'm on the top 4  Grin assuming that I'm in the first one in the order

Anyways, thanks winz.io for the contest and congrats to those who win especially on the top 3.
3092  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HOW TO EARN MERIT POINT on: February 17, 2022, 08:28:14 PM
If you come here just to earn, you misunderstood how this website works, and unfortunately, it will reflect to your actions ie. Posting activities later on.

Better to change your perspective first, or else you'll end up just like those bounty hunters with thousands of posts and activities yet no single merit received.
3093  Other / Archival / Re: Refresh page or F5 sends merit on: February 17, 2022, 12:53:02 PM
I think opera mini and f5 is trying to make the work of merit source easy by automating and doubling merit issuance  Grin
Meanwhile, witch hunters will accused it as merit abuse.

Anyhow, this is not only for Opera but to most of all browser coz it's the cause of html form when refreshing a page after the submit button is clicked.
3094  Other / Archival / Re: Refresh page or F5 sends merit on: February 17, 2022, 08:01:44 AM
and then refresh the page through the browser or F5, the merit will be sent again. Although if you do this without a short break, then a window will pop up warning you about merit sending to the post twice.
It will only proceed once you click the resend button, so it still the user's fault if he will proceed.

While theymos have solution something like this "remerit" but it's for the clicking the merit button twice.
Alright, you now can't merit the same post with the same amount within 60 seconds.

So I don't think we will see a solution or kind of fix for this since this is not a big problem.
3095  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Time Machine - Mining bitcoin with Pentium processor on: February 17, 2022, 01:07:45 AM
LOL, no! Owning a personal computer 12 years ago was actually much more common than you suggest. I don't have the exact source of the numbers, but I'm sure over 70% of households in developed countries owned a PC with a broadband internet connection. I mean, we're talking about a time where the iPhone was already in its fourth generation.

Stating source facts is more reasonable than Lol'ing someone's statement without fully understanding it.

that he would become technically advanced?
By the fact that most household in US have computers and internet plus a good education doesn't mean they would become technically literate, it just few including theymos have different taste for such stuffs.
3096  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Time Machine - Mining bitcoin with Pentium processor on: February 16, 2022, 11:15:36 PM
Could it be that during his time in high school and his freshman year, he received such a cool education that he would become technically advanced?
Probably yes, mentioning that time around 2010 owning a computer is a lot considering it's expensive, at least in my place when you have a computer and internet connection, mean you have the resources and money.
3097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Almost Lost Bitcoins Recovered - Forgotten Wallet Details on: February 15, 2022, 02:33:44 PM
~ I don't know how far this is true or is this a way of promoting Crypto Treasure Hunters, but this is really a happy moment for Rhonda getting back her bitcoins after nine years.
Yeah there's promotion involve but the story sounds true to me.

Photo of the father and son who helped her in another article:

We'll never see 'Rhonda' for security purposes.

~ While reading, I was waiting for the part where she gave them too much info, and they got all the coins for themselves.
Mine was a little different. She gave them info, paid an upfront money, and never got anything in return Grin It's the stories that I usually read from victims of (fraudulent) recovery services. She was lucky to meet those guys instead of scammers
I almost thought that it just a good fantasy story until I read this reply. Seems it's really like good story, from 80$ to well, hundred of thousands in a matter of 8~9 years.

From the hackers perspective seems it's a win-win, plus they were now cover from different press, this will also boost their recovery service or any technical related services, free ads from huge press media  Cool
3098  Economy / Services / Re: Request FREEPIK Premium File for FREE on: February 14, 2022, 11:27:17 PM
It works. Thanks a lot.
Yap, Mega is quite acceptable. btw. Uploaders on free file hosting services earn money from them, that's why he relentlessly puts files there. and yes, it can be very tiring, especially with advertisements that looks like a download button.
You're welcome!

Yes I knew the services on this free file hosting and they earns using those ads that's why I have a note to have a strong ad blocker before accessing the site coz they're annoying.
3099  Other / Meta / Re: Attempted account hacking via forgot account password on: February 14, 2022, 11:18:56 PM
Do you think something like this would be very dangerous if I ignored it without changing the password to a stronger one than before?
Yes? Most recent hacking incidents and hacked accounts are used to getting involved in posting malicious downloadable miner and its very dangerous to others if it was downloaded.

While it could be assuring for you to recover your account since you have signed message but its inconvenience for you since it will take weeks to recover.
3100  Economy / Services / Re: Request FREEPIK Premium File for FREE on: February 13, 2022, 05:54:49 PM
How many requests I can post here?
I need a couple of pieces, but a final decision has not yet been made which of them are the best choice. I would like to test it all if it's possible.
I can cut out the list if I ask too much.
Thanks  Wink

....

You can make as many as you want Smiley. Kidding aside.

Freepik have limits of 100 download files a day. So as long as it will not exceed that number and as long I'm available online it will be okay to request.

Here's the download link of your request, I zip it all so I only need to upload 1 file instead of every file request.
Code:
https://mega.nz/file/JwsCBIgK#zjmtyZ38lE1keZOBn8fTXVIx2BoOx7NVjLRgSiqs6mE
Btw I used Mega since I think it's more secure accessing and downloading files from their site instead of other free file hosting that are full of ads.
