3081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Wolf of Wall Street' says Bitcoin is a 'huge scam' and a 'bubble' on: December 17, 2017, 03:46:41 AM
I'm so sick of reading articles about how "XXX, financial expert" calls Bitcoin a bubble or a scam. Yes, these guys know money and investments. But they're lacking a HUGE fundamental knowledge of what makes Bitcoin so powerful, beyond just the currency aspect of it: the technology. Yes, a lot of new investors are undoubtedly getting into Bitcoin because of the surrounding hype and their greedy desires to make a quick buck on the upswing trends, but that's the nature of finance folks.
I agree with you, I'm also tired hearing with this kind of news. Sad to say but many people still do believe that bitcoin is a scam, a bubble, fraud etc. even though bitcoin already proved its worth. It's very ironic that the main opposers of btc are big investors and businessmen which are supposed to be the one who can fully understand the potentials of it. I guess the best thing we can do is just respect their opinions because persuading them to believe is useless since their minds are already closed for btc or any cryptocurrency.
3082  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Be cautious with new exchanges on: December 17, 2017, 01:52:58 AM
It's very alarming to know that bad people found a new way of scamming other than HYIPs and it is surprising that they saw an opportunity through exchanges. It seems that scammers nowadays become more creative and intelligent for them to continue their bad deeds, everyone should be very careful.

I think the least we can do to avoid being scammed is to trust only to the legit exchanges who already proved their credibility in this kind of business. I only trust to Poloniex, Bittrex, Bitfinex and Coinbase.

Thanks

3088  Economy / Economics / Re: Why did you choose bitcoin? on: December 08, 2017, 08:02:54 AM
I use bitcoin simply because it can be converted in to real cash, it gives me opportunity to earn even I'm still a student. Aside from that, I prefer to use btc than the other altcoins because it has bigger value and this is the first cryptocurrency ever made, therefore, possible to become permanent in the market while others may still vanish.
3089  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has seen the currency gain nearly $3,000 in a day - Is this healthy? on: December 08, 2017, 01:50:12 AM

Its funny how people wished that Bitcoin could rise uptohealthy st month before the year ends, and here we are at 16k already and everyone is panicking because it goes way beyond the speculated price target. Ofcourse we're worried about Bitcoins future for the long run, and there are as well individuals who will take advantage. This will catch the governments attention and will take every possible steps to minimize the use of Bitcoin. Totally unhealthy in my opinion.
In what I have understood to you sir and from the others, there's no problem at all if bitcoin's growth rate is too fast or become larger to our speculated value unexpectedly; the main problem is bitcoin only might catch the attention of our governments and take action regarding this. Am I right? (please correct me if I'm wrong).

If that's the case, I may say that bitcoin's price is still healthy (according to my own opinion) because the problem we are facing is not the price itself but its effects to our economy. I think we're just a little bit threatened to what can our governments do in order to pull down btc. This situations only shows that btc is now overpowering above others.

3091  Economy / Speculation / Re: whooo!!! Bitcoin just broke the $15,000 mark!!! on: December 07, 2017, 11:28:23 AM
So this news that I've heard lately this morning was not a hoax. This is great news for us! Smiley

This morning, my classmate told me that btc is now equivalent to Php 750000 but I don't believe him instantly, I thought that he was wrong so I corrected him that it is only equivalent to $11000 (Php 550000) because I checked it last couple of days. Honestly, I'm still shocked until now because I couldn't imagine that btc grew that big within few days.

I think holding my bitcoins is a must because maybe its price will grow bigger in the upcoming weeks.
3092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Block Operator donates 4950 bitcoin to public schools. Absolutely epic! on: December 07, 2017, 12:10:29 AM
Typically, a person that has lots of money becomes braggart and self-centered and it's very rare to see a kind and humble one, that's why I salute this donator for being unselfish because he didn't hesitate to share his blessings to help the needy, and take note, he gave a very huge amount and that was awesome!

I hope all of us will be inspired from his good example and start to act like him, let's use bitcoin to help each other for creating a better living.
3093  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you decide when it's time to sell? on: December 06, 2017, 12:22:29 PM
Increasing or decreasing value of bitcoin doesn't affect my decision when to sell because the only thing that affects my decision is my necessity. If there is something I want to buy or there are emergency expenses occured then I will withdraw some portions of my earning despite the fluctuation of its value.

Actually, I don't care too much whether the value of btc is going up or going down from time to time because I already set to my mind that I will wait (unless I need money again) 'til btc reached the value that I desired. I do this because I'm still hoping that maybe someday I'll become a millionaire also like the ones who bought btc way back when it is cheaper.
3094  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will fall down on december on: December 04, 2017, 09:59:55 PM
That's a huge drop! I agree with you that bitcoin's price may drop this December because of Christmas, therefore, everyone of us might have a tendency to sell our btc to use in this holiday, but a drop to $7000? I don't think so. I think there will only have a small change and the situation will not get even worse because everyone still buy btc again.
3095  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin fall again soon? on: December 04, 2017, 01:43:46 PM
No one can accurately predict what happens next but I think it's better for you to buy now to cut your loss because in my opinion,  chances of dropping in btc's price will become very rare now. And if ever there's a drop will happen, I guess that will not be very big as what you are expecting and btc will recover soon.
3096  Economy / Economics / Re: Trade house for 1 bitcoin on: December 03, 2017, 05:19:22 AM
It depends on the country you are living in, if the equivalent value of btc in your country is big then it's easier for you to trade a house but if not, for sure it will take some time.

By the way, why would you trade your house for bitcoin? I guess your reason falls one of these two: you want to earn btc or you want to buy a new house. If your reason is the first one, I think that's a bad idea because there are still so much ways to earn btc aside of selling your properties. But if your reason is the second one, that is not a smart decision also because you can expand or renovate your house if you are not contented in the size and appearance of it anymore, I'm sure you can save more through this instead of buying a new one.

3097  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin without mining on: December 02, 2017, 09:44:03 AM
Yes! Because mining is only one of the ways to earn bitcoins. You can also earn through joining signature campaigns, trading, investing in platforms and claiming in bitcoin faucets.

It seems that you are still lack of knowledge about cryptocurrency but that's ok because it's natural for a beginner like you. My advice for you is do some research about bitcoins, try to ask someone who is familiar about this thing or you could also try to read threads in orderto find answers on your queries.

The best way to learn trading is by doing it. You made 0.001 BTC, congrats. But this amount isn't enough to consider as good return. The crypto market is volatile than any other asset market. Here you can make or lose 0.001 BTC within a fraction of seconds. So always invest for long period else you are just betting. It isn't more than gambling. Always pick coins with some large adoption or you will see your investment fading within few months. If you make right coin selection, you don't need to look after charts, etc. You just need some patience and coins will do the rest.
Really?! Is it possible to gain or lose .001 btc within a fraction of seconds?! That's huge! So this means that I can definitely earn large amount of money through trading if everything falls right down in place, I'm a little bit interested now but feel nervous at the same time because losses are inevitable.

You've said that choosing the right coin is very important, can you give me an advice what coin should I choose?
3099  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you place all your funds into bitcoin? on: December 01, 2017, 12:56:53 PM
Well, that thing only depends to you, exchanging all of your fiat money into bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency has its pros and cons so choose wisely. Just follow the most practical choice.

In my case, I decide to put all of my funds in bitcoin because I'm not expecting major expenses since I'm still a student who obviously depends on my family. In short, all of my bitcoins in my wallet are just my savings intended to use for my wants (but can be also used for unexpected expenses in school if I wanted to). Another reason, I'm confident to put all of my funds into btc because those funds I used are just the rewards I've got from my signature campaigns and never came from my own pocket so I feel no regrets if ever it might gone (but I think it won't for sure).
3100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading sucks, I'll just hold my coins on: December 01, 2017, 07:31:11 AM
Thanks for the advice, I hope this will serve as a lesson for those beginners who attempt to deal with trading. After reading your post, I realized that Trading is much riskier to what I thought because even you who already acquired some knowledge about it still fail to succeed. I think I have made the right choice for not yet engaging myself in trading and chose to just hold my bitcoins. (Actually I plan to do this since mining is not practical in our country because of high cost of electricity but I hesitate now because I might also fail in the end).

My advice to you is study harder so that you won't fail again next time you deal with trading, always remember that "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger". Smiley
