3082  Economy / Services / Re: Chess Lessons - $15/hour - 2600+ Lichess Rapid on: September 30, 2021, 08:20:57 PM
Hello Smiley

I am Eddy, Chess Player and Former Commonwealth Silver Medalist. My rating is 2600+ Lichess Rapid and 2500+ Lichess Blitz ...

I am at around 1400 in lichess Blitz... do you think I could charge 5$ and hour  Grin

Lessons can be really useful, but my very humble opinion, if you really want to be at that level, you will need to dedicate quite a bit of time to study. Even learning the end games (e.g. a mate with knight and bishop, which I am unable to make) takes some practise, not to mention learning apertures which is what will give you a significant edge in the quick gaming styles.
3083  Local / Trading y especulación / Re: Mercado crypto se recupera rápidamente, ¿qué viene a continuación? on: September 30, 2021, 08:12:06 PM

3084  Economy / Economics / Re: Money and wealth as the major religions in world. on: September 30, 2021, 11:35:18 AM
Money and wealth cannot be classed as a religion since there is nothing that transcends in them - in fact these are two very earthly elements of life. At most, these can become an obsession. Just like math, money is a tool and the problem is when it simply becomes the end or the purpose (it is ok to think of math as a purpose thought Smiley)

Wealth is no doubt the value that remains on societies that have little else to offer, which are many nowadays.
3085  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrency: The Future of Finance in a New World Order? on: September 29, 2021, 02:45:12 PM
In 2009, the first cryptocurrency -Bitcoin-, officially launched and since then has continued to roll into a snowball effect that poses a serious threat to the existence of conventional finance. As much money as the restless World Central Bank, the government seems helpless and dragged into the vortex of the evolution of the world's financial system. The Covid-19 pandemic has become a catalyst for forcing the entry of all financial and banking industry sectors into the digitalization era. Imagine a concept of a world without physical currency. It is strange, but real. Money will be removed and replaced with a digital currency system.

https://www.ithb.ac.id/en/article/Cryptocurrency:-Masa-Depan-Keuangan-Tatanan-Dunia-Baru--31
The global financial system will change, but the changes will come gradually and in a more evolutionary way, rather than creating a “financial revolution” that destroys traditional banking and finance. Honestly. that said, I have never considered fiat to be phased out since the beginning, its goal is to bring convenience in almost all aspects of financial transactions. When it comes to cryptocurrencies and fiat, I think these two factors will coexist and support each other in the future. we shouldn't just think about cryptocurrencies that will replace fiat but why not develop together

Sound about right to me. The banks as of now seem to be taking lots of hits in the shape of more companies in fintetch, low rates, people using crypto, stronger regulations than usual, ... however they still hold the monopoly of getting money from the central banks and "miraculously" multiplying it and lending it massively to retail users by giving credit. While people buy houses with mortgages, there shall be banks.
3086  Economy / Economics / Re: Why don't banks work with cryptocurrency? on: September 29, 2021, 02:41:21 PM
Banks have been directly opposed to cryptocurrency since the beginning of the cryptocurrency journey. Because banks always think that cryptocurrency may take their place. Moreover Banks always give  antisocial The activity directly blames Bitcoin.

They are only fools to think that way. Banks are always self centered and never considered customer interests. Some weeks ago, I went to collect new ATM card and while I was waiting, I was looking at their exchange rate and interest rate digitally placed on a wall and the interest rate was just so poor and it got me thinking why would anyone want to save his money in the bank with that tiny return, that's stealing not investments.

Yep, banks and companies actually have the obligation to be egoist and to cater only for the interests of the shareholders and many times just of the Management. However they will and do use crypto as long as they can actually fulfil this duty, so we should make it in their own interest to use and have crypto available by demanding it an going to those who embrace the change.
3087  Economy / Economics / Re: Where will people save money- A report by Prothomalo on: September 29, 2021, 02:38:08 PM
Interest rates in Bank in Bangladesh is below 5% now. In some Banks, it's 2%.
Holy cow!  Are you telling me deposit interest rates at banks in Bangladesh are that high?  In the US if you start a savings account at pretty much any bank, interest rates are near zero.  Less than 1%, anyway, and it's been that way for years because the Fed has kept interest rates at rock bottom levels.  That's why smart folks put their excess money into the stock market or crypto or anything else that has a chance of beating inflation.

Shoot, if I could open a bank account in Bangladesh and earn anywhere near 7% I'd jump at the chance--if I had extra money, that is.  But if your inflation rate is near 5% and interest rates are dropping below that, then yes, I'd consider other forms of investment.  If you keep your money in a bank (checking accounts excluded), you'll basically be losing money.

It's amazing that there are PoS cryptocurrencies that can earn you 10% or more per year, and I've heard of people investing in DeFi projects that earn far more than that.

I think you are comparing apples with pineapples, they only sound alike and you can eat them... and that is all they have in common. It is mostly a question of competitivity, those countries whose currency is less competitive, usually because their economies are not competitive enough, will have to offer more competitive rates to people who want to hold them or use them.

RE PoS, it is a completely different game and a 10% for me would be clearly not enough compared with the risk. Either the network is clearly growing or those interest will come from coin printing. If the supply is limited, then the cost of keeping the network safe will be too high and will kill it. Super-risk that should be paid at least a 50% in my view.
3088  Economy / Economics / Re: Now UK is facing inflation so choose the best for you.. on: September 29, 2021, 02:32:37 PM
I certainly hope the inflation in UK and in other countries is a transitory effect mostly due to the price of energy and particularly of the price of gas. The current situation in the UK show lack of planning or plain disarray in supply chains and retail transportation and that is not going to help. Seems like brexiting was not such a great idea, but COVID provided the perfect excuse for all this.
3089  Economy / Economics / Re: What are Economic Expenses of Eastern Countries? on: September 29, 2021, 02:25:58 PM
Hi yo all people, I am from Asia but I always want to get economic situations of Eastern counties. Because here people have high income and also highest expenses.
In my country an average living costs are at least 150 dollars per Month. But I do not expenses of USA, UK, SPAIN etc. And I hope if some people are form these European and also Eastern Countries than can tell me what are monthly expenses of These people. So we know more about economic conditions of these countries.

I would call these countries "Western", but I guess that it depends on how are you looking at the Earth The countries you mention are more or less within the same range of costs and it is also quite dependent on the region and city or place you live in. For example, an salary of 1200 euros net a month would keep you alive, dressed and with a roof of your own - nothing fancy at all - in Madrid or Rome, with some spare for beers. That same salary in Caceres, Avila or Murcia will go probably go a bit further and allow for some enjoyment.

In London or Paris, you may be running on a quite tight budget with 1400 euros or 1300 pounds. You would probably would not be able to afford a studio for yourself in safe and nice neighbourhood and your entertainment options would be very limited. You most likely would be thinking of moving to a location well away from the city centre.

The difference between cities and regions might be up to 100%. Example: 1 bed flat in more or less central London is already around 1400 euros, which would be more than enough to live well in Tenerife, most of Sicily, most of Greece.

There are quite a few tools online that would allow you to check places, mostly intended for expats.
3090  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Bitcoin ETFs really important? on: September 28, 2021, 11:55:41 PM
They are important due to regulations. Funds and investment firms are very much tied to their purpose, terms and conditions. Some of those restrictions affect which markets can they operate in, which assets can they buy, their maximum liquidity, the leverage and anything you can think of. ETF backed by bitcoin are a vehicle that may be used by many economic agents that cannot just go and buy bitcoin.

As individual investors, we are lucky we do not need these ETF, we got the real stuff.

Re tax advantages, yes, you can include ETFs in a few countries in tax efficient vehicles, but not bitcoin by itself.
3091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: $5000 to $1 million in 3 years and little over 2000 bets! on: September 28, 2021, 11:31:41 AM
So, what you wanted to share is a strategy to earn more than half a million dollars with just a 5k dollars bankroll. I have seen some serious gambler which most of his story is busted and seldomly won huge amount of money with a very low chance of winning if it's about dice games but in a sports betting I'm sure it's 50/50 win chance. This must have take a lot of time to gather info in which team/who will win the match. Good luck.

Most of these "systems" are just plain fraud. Firstly, it fails the incentive test: Why would someone tell you about such a system if they can multiply their money using it? If you can't answer this question, just do not bother to read any further. Also, there is an easy way to build a story of success ... after the facts (I call those people Capitain Afterfacts). I do not see anything of value here.
3092  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bet Responsibly Campaign on: September 28, 2021, 11:27:47 AM
One more campaign about Bet Responsibly launch by Entain and Rush Street Interactive (RSI) has partnered with the American Gaming Association’s (AGA). That campaign is trying to educating sports fans and the core principles of responsible gambling. We know that many gamblers become addicted to gambling, so hopefully, this program can help them resolve their problem to be more responsible in gambling.

Source: https://www.gamblinginsider.com/news/13284/entain-and-rsi-partner-with-aga-for-have-a-game-plan-bet-responsibly-campaign

You can visit on here to see what companies are partnering with AGA:

https://www.americangaming.org/have-a-game-plan/

Hopefully, more and more gamblers can take responsibility for their money and themselves so the addiction among the people can reduce. And people will know that placing a bet in sports betting is fun but they must prevent becoming addicted to gambling.

More programs like this can help people have a responsibility to themselves and help them manage the budget and time to avoid the worst scenario that can happen to them.

No wonder, this is one of the biggest problems of the industry - the perception that gaming is in general causing tragedies and worsening peoples lives. While there is a bit of that, the fact is that gambling is a great economic engine of growth and the more liberalised it is, the more is going to be. This campaign is well aimed and addresses the risk of reputation damage as gambling grows.
3093  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: September 28, 2021, 11:25:38 AM
Lionel Messi is back at PSG training! As for Leo, we have missed him terribly, but he will be available as PSG player facing Man City on Tuesday. He is going to score against City! It will be history if Messi scores the first goal for PSG against Manchester City. Personally, I'm waiting for another Messi masterclass at UCL.

People at very excited about Messi at PSG, however there is alway an adaptation period, and I am not talking about just Messi adapting to his new home, but about the rest of the players getting used to what they can expect from Messi and how can they make the best use of his virtues. Also, an acomplished player has also a need to find further motivation beyond money.
3094  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another Vaccination Lottery on: September 28, 2021, 11:23:26 AM
I am a bit surprised because I did not know that Romania had such a need at all. I guess the government is just trying to get peoples attention with the price and the lottery, what I am not so sure is that this is the right kind of attention. People that are not taking the vaccine are not going to be persuaded just by a price, since they normally think their life is at risk. I guess it is just a marketing op.
3095  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ultimate slot experience on: September 28, 2021, 11:21:14 AM
I have read so many things on slot games, how it is the most popular and easy to play a game which requires little to no skills in playing it. But again from personal experience and development, some players can still manage the way around the slot, can we share experiences?

Slot games are entertaining, but the chances of winning a jackpot are slim. What's the point of playing something where the odds aren't in your favor? No matter how risky your games are, they should have a probability return of at least 0.5, otherwise it's gambling suicide, unless you're playing for free, which is possible in promotional activities.

Slot games are fun, but there aren't enough jackpots to be pocket. You should explore different games, however, unlike slot machines, your skill may be required.

That's the point, you can't limit someone's hobbies in the first place. Slots are friendly to any gambler except for those of you who don't seem to like Slots. Isn't gambling not just about winning, many people come to gamble for entertainment and fun in every game. All with their stories and experiences in slots, whether they win or lose, but in fact they can be entertaining if as an alternative to entertainment, and on the other hand can eliminate everything if you intend to seek victory.

Yeah, it is not really about choosing but rather experiencing different games and ultimately learning which ones are the right ones for you, those that are more related to chance or those that are related to abilities. Fortunately, there are many places to try and many games and styles, so will not run out of options to enjoy. Just make sure you do not overdoit and play responsibly.
3096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: No vaccine no entry Casino house! on: September 28, 2021, 11:15:12 AM
Yep, that how it goes now in many countries. At least most places will give you the option of taking a test to enter, although that alternative may be expensive it will ensure your are free to disagree on what is clearly an experimental vaccine (if we can call these vaccines at all). You will have to weight the risk of catching a bad COVID versus the possibility of having side effects. Including not being admitted is just another factor for some I guess.
3097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: September 28, 2021, 11:12:33 AM

As of the end of the 7th week, I see that Real Madrid are still leading by one point ahead of Real Sociedad. It is really interesting to see Real Sociedad in the second place for me. I remember that they had a decent season last also but I didn't expect them to level their game up this much. But it is of course good to see them here too. In the end, I don't want to see the same teams dominating the league every season. Let's see until when they will be able to keep their good progress up.
The performances displayed by Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti this season may be familiar to football fans even though they are currently at the top, but what is more surprising is what Real Sociedad did until week 7 of the Spanish league this season we can say: which is very extraordinary.where they are in second place in the standings behind real Madrid who are only 1 point behind the leaders who are then followed by Sevilla with a 1 game advantage which they have not played in week 7, if both teams appear so consistent I think they can be a serious challenger to Real Madrid considering the unstable performances of Barcelona and Atletico Madrid

Even though Real Madrid failed to win against Villarreal, I still consider Real Madrid as the strongest candidate to win La Liga this season. Because
I still think Real Madrid is still playing consistently until week 7, while Barcelona and Atletico have dropped too many points. I agree there were
a few teams that surprised us all, namely Real Sociedad, Sevilla and Rayo Vallecano. Especially Real Sociedad who are in second place, this is beyond
the expectations of many people. But with the quality of players Real Sociedad, I doubt they will be able to stay in the top 4. Therefore it is
more interesting to wait for La Liga matches every week, I can't wait for what other surprises will happen in La Liga.

Madrid is really dragging. The fact that it is making the cut does not hinder what anyone can see in their play: they are lacking a reference, a default solution for their attack and they are far too concentrated in defence, which is a loosing game in the Spanish League. They certainly need a change of habits if not of coach. My bet will be against them this week.
3098  Economy / Economics / Re: Where will people save money- A report by Prothomalo on: September 28, 2021, 11:08:25 AM
Interest rates in Bank in Bangladesh is below 5% now. In some Banks, it's 2%. People with extra fund used to invest in sanchaypotro (Savings Certificate) for safe and good return but in recent announcement, interest rate has been decreased to 7.71% if the total invested amount is above 3 million BDT. Isn't it a good rate? I

As a standalone question it cannot be answered. There are many things you have to consider but the first one is what do you think the inflation is going to be? Also, what other alternatives have you got for investing? How long do you intend to hold your investment? Is it you pension money or you dreams money or you money for betting? The rate itself, 7% is quite good, but as said, if inflation is 8%... you'd be loosing.
3099  Economy / Economics / US with problems to raise the debt ceiling... again on: September 27, 2021, 09:08:07 PM
Again, the US Government has spent more than expected and now has to borrow more to pay the bills. If this was you, this is the closest to an overdraft on your account that a country gets. The problem is that the limit has to be raised by law, and it is not simple to do so in an age of exacerbated partisanship and little wide-angle vision about the needs of the country.

Incredible as it may seem, the US could actually default in its obligations.

3100  Economy / Economics / Re: Gavin Andresen prediction for Bitcoin in 2061 on: September 27, 2021, 08:50:13 PM
It is an interesting post in the sense that it gives some stuff to think about. I am not too interested in knowing who is Satoshi nor in the ego quarrels of the people that supposedly worked in proximity to him, however the predictions about having bitcoin falling into a few hands is kind of a warning for us hoddlers and aligns with something that people do not seem to understand clearly and is very simple: once you sell something, you no longer own it. You have something that most times is far less valuable and goes away easily with no trace: money.
