Some tittle tattle...

QuadrugaX money possibly held at Crypto Capital, the dodgy Panama bank that has Finex cash?

https://btcmanager.com/quadrigacx-funds-crypto-capital/?q=/quadrigacx-funds-crypto-capital/&

 Here's the e-mail:

Quote
Affected Users:
Representative Counsel has received information that a Panamanian shadow bank, Crypto Capital Corp. (“Crypto Capital”), may have been a payment processor for Quadriga in the final quarter of its operation. Representative Counsel has been investigating, since its appointment, whether any Quadriga funds were potentially retained by Crypto Capital.

Crypto Capital and its executives are currently being investigated by the U.S. Department of Justice. The original indictment can be read here. Polish authorities have seized Crypto Capital bank accounts, amounting to approximately $350 million, in an investigation relating to alleged laundered drug cartel funds. Bitfinex, another cryptocurrency exchange, has asserted that it was defrauded by Crypto Capital. Through its parent corporation iFinex Inc., it has claimed right to these seized assets via ongoing U.S. proceedings (case: 8:19-mc-00021 in the United District Court for the Central District of California). iFinex Inc. has also filed claims in the Judicial Court of Western Lisbon (Portugal) and a “Norwich Pharmacal” disclosure request with the Business and Property Courts of England and Wales, regarding Crypto Capital-controlled accounts in Portugal and the United Kingdom.

As you are aware, Ernst & Young Inc. (the “Trustee”) has been unable to locate QuadrigaCX’s basic corporate records or accounting records. As a result, Representative Counsel is asking Affected Users for assistance on this matter to uncover whether Crypto Capital held Quadriga funds.

Representative Counsel asks all Affected Users to forward the following to quadrigacx@millerthomson.com:

1. Any emails with Crypto Capital or Crypto Capital representatives (ex. contact@cryptocapital.co) regarding Quadriga funds;

2. Any financial statements showing interaction with the Polish bank accounts Crypto SP. Z O.O. and NESP SP. Z O.O. at Bank Spoldzielczy in Skierniewice, Poland;

3. Any financial statements showing interaction with Crypto Capital-controlled Portugese bank accounts at Banco Portugues de Investimento, Bankinter, S.A., and Caixa Geral de Depositos S.A.;

4. Any financial statements showing interaction with Crypto Capital-controlled U.K. bank accounts;

5. Any financial statements showing interaction with any TCA Bancorp-controlled bank account;

6. Any correspondence discussing Quadriga funds with the below individuals and entities, as cited in ongoing Bitfinex proceedings:

Reginald Dennis Fowler;

Trent Dennis Fowler;

Other principals and key personnel of Crypto Capital including:

Ozzie Yosef;

Ravid Yosef;

Ivan Manuel Molina Lee;

Crypto Capital Corp.;

Global Trade Solutions AG;

Global Trading Solutions LLC;

G.T.S. Resources Limited;

NLE Consulting Group;

TCA Investment Bancorp & Trust Company;

Spiral Global Development Limited;

Legacy Benefits Holdings Limited;Legacy Benefits Holdings (UK) Limited;

Individuals involved with TCA Investment Bancorp & Trust Company, including:

Katsuyoshi Iwanaga;

Diane Fletcher;

David Anthony Stafford;

Rondell Monroe; and

7. Any other correspondence or financial records relating to Quadriga funds and Crypto Capital that could assist Representative Counsel.

Representative Counsel thanks the Affected Users for their assistance on this matter.

I like it how from the very beginning you inform us that you have two Bitcoins  Grin

  I like how you're the only other guy in this thread not wearing an annoyingly obtrusive signature.

Chinese people celebrate today the new lunar year (chinese new year). The new year will be in the sign of rat. The new moon year begins...tic toc...tic toc....

 Does that mean this will be the year the rat coronavirus attains the ability to infect humans.  We got SARS in the year of the cat, MERS in the year of the camel, swine flu in the year of the pig... gong xi fa cai!1

*Cryptosporidiosis
Also known as crypto, cryptosporidiosis can spread to humans who have contact with the poop of an infected dog, cat, or farm animal. The parasitic disease can cause fever, nausea, abdominal cramps, vomiting, and diarrhea. Crypto generally goes away without treatment, unless the person's immune system is compromised. Then it can be deadly.

3084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to my one Bitcoin (just for example) if I lose my security key? on: January 23, 2020, 07:30:41 PM
What happens to my two Bitcoins (just for example) if I lose my security key? I do not have any Bitcoin at the moment. But, I am quickly learning about Bitcoin as I want to very soon make my very first purchase of some amount of it. My question has to do with there being a finite amount of Bitcoin in circulation. Today about 17,000,000 (17 million) Bitcoins are in existence. By year 2140 as I understand it there will be no more than 21,000,000 (21 million) Bitcoins in existence. Furthermore, my understanding is that I am the only person with access to my Bitcoin through my private security key. Now, my question is. If I lose my security key to, let's say, one of my Bitcoin wallets that has maybe 2 Bitcoin in it. Then, what happens to that 2 Bitcoin in the context of the 17 million Bitcoin currently in existence. Who can find and use those 2 Bitcoin that I "lost". Or, do those 2 Bitcoin get lost forever, because I'm presuming no one ever will find/guess my lost security key? An analogy is, if I lose a hundred dollar bill, someone will likely find it and be able to use it to put it back into market circulation. However, if the hundred dollar bill gets flushed down a sewer drain, then it gets permanently removed from market circulation. So, I'm wondering, do the 2 Bitcoins in my example that I "lost", do they permanently get removed from market circulation. And, if so, then does that mean that in 2140 there will be 2 Bitcoins fewer in the total market circulating, for example, 21,000,000-2 would make it 20,999,998 Bitcoins in circulation. Or, can those 2 lost Bitcoins be *replaced* by Bitcoin mining over time so that the market has the full 21 million in circulation.

 Your Bitcoin (whole or part) are stored in an address; those addresses are accessible via private keys (one per address).  If you lose the private key to any particular address, you lose whatever amount of Bitcoin in it.
Your Bitcoin can be contained in multiple addresses within a wallet - wallets can be backed up using a passphrase which will give you access to the entire wallet and all keys in it (provided they were generated by the same wallet software and not imported).  If lose the passphrase to the wallet, you will lose all addresses associated with the wallet and all Bitcoin associated with each address.

 Lost Bitcoins will never be replaced.

Finally, a story on how Carlos Ghosn, the fugitive former leader of Nissan Motor Co. and Renault SA, got the better of Japan's tight security. It was unimaginable at first how he made his way outside Japan and into Beirut without anyone getting the smallest hint.

This one's like a fictional read.

 Links to paid access sites suck ass.  What's the point?  Even if I were interested in the story, I'm not paying subscription fees for access to a one-time read.  There aren't even any critiques or user reviews to let us know if it's worth a plug nickle.  Guess I'll wait for the made-for-TV movie.

You need to remove cookies associated with bloomberg and you should be able to read the article. Once you remove the cookies, you should only read bloomberg articles using incognito mode so any cookies it gives you are removed when you close the window.

The tl;dr of what happened is that one of the contractors Ghosn hired discovered that some private airports do not screen objects that do not fit into security scanners, and Ghosn was put into an oversized container that is normally used to carry speakers, and was able to sneak onto a private plane.

 Thanks for the tip!  When I clear the browser cookies I have one remaining free article but I can't read anything using incognito mode - the bloomberg site can detect it and wont allow me to read.

I'm sorry. That doesn't seem to to be the case from my end. No intention to promote anything here. I read the entire article for free and was not aware this article is an exclusive or a paid one. I am not a subscriber myself. There must be a limited number of article that could be read for free on this site. You must have used it already. I don't know.

Anyway, this story is saying something. Whether it tells the truth or not is beyond me.

 Yes, my IP address has reached the limit of free views.  I didn't think for a second you were trying to promote something - I thought maybe you forgot it was a website you paid subscription fees to use.
The original story I read about Ghosn wrote that he basically just walked away, hopped on a private flight arranged by others to Turkey and then another private flight to his home country.  It cost him an amount of money that mere mortals don't possess.

 I just read another article that said a former green beret, a musical instrument case and a bullet train to Osaka was involved.  Add in a few automatic weapons, some yelling and screaming and Jason Statham and we've got a blockbuster.

Spent plenty of time in Thailand in the past, haven't been there in years.
Maybe this won't be so easy, it is kinda obscure place to go. Here's better images of the boat, the locals, and the launch of a boat. Done in 30 knots of wind!
I'll add some of the monuments here if need be later.

Vietnam?

bit like this boat style

Mui Ne?
Its not Mui Ne, Phu Quoc, or Nha Trang but it's certainly Vietnam. More hints =  water color and wind strength. Hmmmm......
Giving up? Here's the pagoda in the center of the town.

I see the corn slid down a bit. 8670 now.  $101,700,000 sale to make that move.
Whale poop I believe.

 Linh Quang Pagoda: the oldest temple on Phu Quy island.  That explains the wind too.

 That was one of the toughest yet even with the full images.

3097  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU, makes 1 Trillion ready for climate neutrality and gets embaressed on: January 19, 2020, 09:37:52 PM
I don't like the EU because they are pretending to be all about equality, but it all leads to a few states ruling over the rest.
I'll give you an example. The EU lead by Germany tried to impose CO2 restrictions on member countries and pushed for countries with coal power plants to upgrade to renewable or build a nuclear plant. A few days ago I read an article about Germany building a new giant coal mine and planning to use it to for power production, which means more CO2. I understand trade agreements and funding projects together but it will all turn to shit if Germany and France keep telling other countries what to build, what factories to shut down, how many soldiers to train, what animals to hunt and what resources to exploit.

EU is not about equality it is about striking down the nazis.

eu is not lead by germany, eu is lead by its own intel, and eu is also reacting to the zeitgeist that surrounds it, environmental populism is extremely strong in an egalitarian humanist antiracist and anti white world

thats why EU is trashing its own currency.

entire CO2 panic was nonsense to begin with you can see that on this example of a new food grown out of the CO2 in the air

 Most if not all of the plants we eat use the CO2 in our atmosphere for growth as well so I'm not as excited about you are with this "new" technology.  Maybe if there was more explanation and less salesmanship in the video it would be more convincing.

BBC News - Bitcoin virtual currency reaches all-time high price
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-21601608

remember this?

That was like 8 months before I started. On Oct 18th, 2013..sometime during the day, BTC was $150 when I looked. Smiley

I miss my Newbie BTC Youth! The thrill of being absolutely 'clueless' on wtf you were doing and still making out like a bandit!

KNC Jupiter Miner arrived 0ct 18th, 2013. I got it sopping wet full of water and parts floating inside. Dried it out. It was $5,131.80 USD.

Tried to turn it on, IT CAME WITH NO FRIGGING SWITCH, I was utterly befuddled.

Emailed them got a prompt reply to use a 'paper clip' and short out the PSU leads to the

computer cable for power to a computer motherboard.

Sat there 'stunned!'

I mean really, I paid the amount above for this beastie and it does not even have a 'frigging' switch!

 Closed my eyes, turned my head away for expected flash/explosion and of the certain 'bricking' of the device.

Worked fine, Ran like a top for a couple of years, till difficulty got to high on BTC vs electric. (considering BTC price now should have run it another 1/2 year!)

Best Miner I ever had par none for output and stability. Sometime during that day, I looked up the price of BTC it was $150 USD per BTC!

I think I made 1 BTC a day.

I 'long' for a return to those glory 'newbie' home mining days, but alas,they are gone forever.

Those were the days.
I had a pretty tidy return from this:

I bought 6 in all.

And then this:

 Man.  I waited nearly 7 months to get my BFL miners.  When I did, the taxes my government charged were more than the value of the Bitcoin I could mine with them even if I didn't include the cost of electricity.  To add insult to injury, my wife called me at work the first night I was running them to tell me of a strange smell coming from the room.  I told her to unplug them and in the morning when I got home, I saw that one of the power supplies had melted - those were SHIT (the power supplies)!  I connected some better PSUs and ran them for a while to heat my feet under my computer desk.
 I've always wished I had simply spent that money on coins rather than miners - it would have bought ~ 30 Bitcoins.   Cry
