3081  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Selling Bitcoin Over Market Price? on: July 27, 2017, 06:49:44 PM
If you're planning on doing something like that, you'd need to invest a lot of time building a reputation.
If you're selling to other people, on platforms like LocalBitcoins or Paxful at least.

Or you could also try and find new marketplaces, maybe the decentralized ones will gain some popularity in the future, there aren't too many sellers on Bitsquare for example.

If you're just buying and selling on exchanges, you're basically just trading (or arbitrage if you're using mutiple exchanges with price differences)
You'd really need to know when to buy and when to sell, it involves much risk.
3082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to spot a gambler addicted? on: July 27, 2017, 06:45:07 PM
I think if a person keeps gambling away his money and spends a lot of time of gambling, then he is an addict in my eyes. Gambling should be done just for sake of entertaining yourself without wasting too much time or money. It shouldn't get into way of making decision for you and your family. You should be able to stop it at any time.
I think that most gambling addicts are pretty much invisible though, except for in real brick and mortar casino's.
Now with so many online casino's, it's pretty hard to notice gambling addiction. Except perhaps if you have a friend who's constantly gambling on his phone or something like that.

And you don't have to be gambling every day to be considered an addict.
If you gamble just once a week or once a month, but almost empty your bank account every time, you're also an addict
3083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gift For Kid on: July 27, 2017, 03:36:33 PM
I personally wouldn't buy it for my kids or let them play with it, but I don't think this would be illegal, since it just a game and it isn't actually gambling itself.
But how could roulette even be fun for kids to play? I mean if the chips don't have any monetary value, the game isn't even really fun to play.
3084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: PSA: Pokerstars accepts Bitcoin! (through Neteller) on: July 27, 2017, 03:07:14 PM
This is not the same as accepting bitcoin. There is no mention on their site at all about accpeting bitcoin.

It's almost the same as saying pokerstars accepts bitcoin, because it allows wire transfers. I can simply sell my bitcoin for cash and transfer that to pokerstars!

Yup....It's not even close to being the same.  Having to go through several gateways to get your deposit on site is extremely inefficient and it actually provides the opposite result to the benefits of using the bitcoin platform.  Why would anybody even do this? It doesn't even make sense; it's just a waste of resources!
I completely disagree with that, yes it's almost the same.
You don't have to wait and you can deposit instantly with Bitcoin, even if it's through one more gateway.

It's not the same as them accepting wire transfers, because that would take several days.

If you really want to deposit using Bitcoin, you can almost immediately, you don't even need a verified Neteller account.
Yes you pay a 1% fee, actually the lowest fee of all Neteller account funding methods, but if for some reason you really want to use Bitcoin to fund your account, you can.

And I'm sure it's useful for some people who didn't know this.

Anyway, I've changed the title into something a little bit more accurate.

Bump for visibility Wink
And to possibly get an answer on my question below:

I'm using Pokerstars Belgium, so I'm not sure if Pokerstars accepts Neteller in other countries, if someone could confirm, that would be really awesome!
3086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTC Anonymity on: July 25, 2017, 08:54:33 PM
I don't really use Bitcoin for its anonymity features and I personally do not need another coin that provides better anonymity than Bitcoin.
I've used mixing services in the past, but nowadays I just send everything without them.

Also fill it in on my tax return whenever I withdraw a large amount.
3087  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Getting Altcoins - Airdrops etc. on: July 25, 2017, 08:37:11 PM
Has anyone ever made any significant amount from free coin giveaways or airdrops?
For me it just seems like a waste of time, but I'd love to hear from some other people who have some succes stories... Smiley
3088  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Crypto-Games.net ★ 9 coins ★ 7 games ★ Since 2014 ★ New - Litecoin lottery! on: July 25, 2017, 08:34:10 PM

"withdraw fees" are bitcoin network fees.
The site uses the 21.co API to determine suggestions, and you can adjust your fees based on your preferences.
If you dislike the fact that bitcoin transactions became more expensive over the last year,
the site offers 8 other coins, including doge with fees as low as 1 doge (72 sat).

Is there any reason why Crypto-Games doesn't feature batch withdrawals as additional option? Many casinos and exchanges do this with fees as low as 0.0001 BTC per user, which is way lower than usual transaction fees. It creates some delay, but I think many people would wait a few hours to save ~0.001 BTC.
If we would do batch withdrawals with 10 tranasctions, users will have to wait for around 6 hours before transaction being processed. In our opinion that's unacceptable to wait that long.
If players can what for transaction being confirmed slowly, they can currently choose minimum fees as low as 0.00052 BTC.
LOL, I'm really glad that you don't Tongue
I've always been advocating for being able to choose transaction speed on your website (You can even check the chat logs for that Wink )

If you would give the option to do batch transactions for an even lower fee, I'd think you'd end up with a lot of complaints from people who didn't realize it would be that slow.

Since the lottery is actually +EV, it makes sense not to invest in a paid API package from randompicker.
With the links included, I guess it's honest, unless you'd run the numbers multiple times (literally the only way I see how you could cheat this).
RandomPicker provides a list of all drawings made using the CryptoGames account during the last 30 days:
https://www.randompicker.com/Project/Public/ProjectsRecent.aspx?Key=438810x59523

Any multiple drawings / drawings outside of the scheduled lottery rounds would turn up there.
Didn't know that, that solves every last little bit of doubt that I could have had about the lottery.
Thanks Lutpin!

Not that I didn't trust Crypto-Games ofc, just have to take every possible scenario into account Wink Just being fair towards myself and other users...
3089  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How sustainable is bitcoin? on: July 25, 2017, 08:24:50 PM
Aren't regular users already being excluded from mining? I mean you'd need a pretty large initial investment to get started with mining.
If you want to get a decent ROI in a short time at least.

People will always be able to purchase though and with small purchases, you could see some good ROI pretty fast compared to mining.
3090  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is a lot like eCigarettes on: July 25, 2017, 08:19:58 PM
I`ve always though that eCigarettes are more harmful than the normal cigars.
Perhaps, this is due to the big tobacco corporations propaganda. Grin
Anyway, smoking is like doing drugs,it`s not healthy.
Compaing bitcoin with drugs is wrong.Using BTC is actually healthy. Grin
I wouldn't say that Ecigs are more harmful than normal cigarettes, though there hasn't really been enough research done on Ecigs to compare the two.
If you just think logically about it, there are around 250 proven harmful chemicals in regular cigarette smoke, compared to possibly 3 harmful chemicals in ecig smoke. (Nicotine, Propylene glycol and Vegetable glycerol)

I personally don't think this analogy is very good.
3091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to deal with multiple accounts and abusing faucet? on: July 25, 2017, 08:13:12 PM
Not so long ago, we simplify registration process at our site leaving only the username field...
As a consequence, we are faced with a problem of creating multiple accounts by the same user and abusing faucet (faucet at our site - 0.007 mBTC and only request every 3 hours when balance is zero).
Guys, what solutions do you recommend?  Huh
Thank you!
Lower the faucet amount and at the same time put max claims per day and should not based on hourly limitations because it is really prone on abuse.Set max claims per IP so that those abusers would really have a hard time on abusing faucet this is not new anymore and you are not only whos experiencing such problem but most sites do experience this such abuse thats why strict limitations would really be needed.

I agree with you to lower down the faucet so that it won't attract those people who hunt from faucets. I have been in different kind of dice sites and see people who try their luck in faucets so its better to require the players to deposit minimum amount every week or monthly. And also keep track to people who logs in with the same IP.
If you'd lower the amount people could withdraw from the faucet, you would also inconvenience the people who are using the faucet legitimately.
It's just a bad solution to an easy problem to solve.

For example, Crypto-games has one of the highest faucet payouts, they just require you to level up to get to the highest payouts.
Requiring people to log in would even be better than just lowering the payouts.

There will be abuse, but not impossible to sort out manually if needed.
3092  Economy / Reputation / Re: lauda and lutpin on: July 25, 2017, 07:56:22 PM
Don't really have an opinion on Lauda, just know that there has been some drama surrounding him/her.

As for Lutpin, he's always been pretty fair imo, I've seen him bash a couple of people, but it was always deserved.
Has also been the campaign manager for my sig campaign and haven't had any trouble with him personally.

That said, you could give out some more information, NEWBIE ACCOUNT!
3093  Economy / Economics / Re: Signature campaign as my job? on: July 25, 2017, 07:49:51 PM
Basically you should focus on your education as your major priority all other things should follow, I will always take signature campaigns as a part-time job, earnings from signature campaigns is just to settle some minor bills.
If you're actually relying on signature campaign payments to pay your bills, I would try to get a better main job that pays enough to pay those bills.

It's good to spend your sig campaign earnings on additional things, like purchasing stuff for yourself or spending it on crypto, but I wouldn't actually pay bills with it.
3094  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Crypto-Games.net ★ 9 coins ★ 7 games ★ Since 2014 ★ New - Litecoin lottery! on: July 21, 2017, 09:10:58 PM
Sorry that I'm posting this again, but I'd just like to know if my suggestion from a while back has a possibility of being added.
You might just have missed it or decided that it's not something worth adding, no problem in any case.

Just like to know Wink

I have a suggestion for a new feature to the website:
It would be pretty neat if it was possible to lock investments for a certain amount of time, perhaps for a fixed amount of time (1 week, 30 days, 3 months,...)

There might be some downsides to it, like people asking to reverse the lock in chat, but it would also be good for the website as there would be more long term investments.
For some people it would be really helpful to not be able to touch their investment.

Anyway, I just got the idea when reading through some posts about people having very little self-control, so I guess it's something a lot of people struggle with.
We thought about adding it but decided not to implement this feature since many users will write us with wish or even demand to cancel their investment before end date. We have divestment fees and many think twice before canceling investments.
Yeah, completely understand that it would possibly be too much of a hassle for support.
Still, it was worth it to mention it, because the idea itself is pretty interesting.

I'm not going to try to change your mind or anything, but just going to give my 2 cents on that issue.

If something like that would be implemented with enough warnings alongside it, support could just ignore messages that ask to reverse the investment.

You'd probably get some unwarranted scam accusations, but everybody would easily figure out that you're right.
Also, I'd implement a double confirmation to be able to lock an investment, so people won't be able to do it by accident.

Thanks for reviewing it though Wink
Based on our experience many users don't read at all (because of language barrier or they're just too lazy to read). So even making huge warning signs and multiple confirmations won't help much Smiley
But thanks for suggestions!
Fair enough! Thanks!

I've also noticed that you've started adding the links of the randompicker results of the lottery.
Definitely good to add those. Just want to know if you're doing it all manually or using the API?

Doesn't matter that much, just that I'd trust the results from the API a bit more than the manual ones.
But paying 400 dollars a year wouldn't be too cost efficient, I guess Tongue
Linking to randompicker is from the first lottery draw Smiley
We do all draws manually...lottery is not giving us any profit, since it's EV+ of 1% and most probably we'll stay at handjob Cheesy
Then it's just me who hadn't noticed until now Tongue

Since the lottery is actually +EV, it makes sense not to invest in a paid API package from randompicker.
With the links included, I guess it's honest, unless you'd run the numbers multiple times (literally the only way I see how you could cheat this).

Sorry, I'm just being extremely paranoid about these things, it's what happens when you lose multiple times in a row, just variance though Wink
3095  Economy / Gambling discussion / PSA: Pokerstars accepts Bitcoin! (via Neteller) on: July 20, 2017, 10:26:02 PM
I see a lot of topics asking for poker websites that accept Bitcoin, but no-one seems to know that you can actually use Bitcoin to deposit to your Pokerstars account.

Pokerstars accepts Neteller, Neteller accepts Bitcoin with a 2% fee, which is actually a lower fee than their other payment options.

I'm just making this topic to get this information out there, since my replies on other similar topics get buried by people who are just replying to increase their post count.

I hope someone gets some use out of this information!

3097  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Wallet on: July 20, 2017, 09:44:29 PM
I would stick to the default wallets for either of the coins that you've mentioned except Ethereum.
For Ethereum you can basically just pick and choose, most of thoe wallets are good enough, depending on the features that you want.

But for those other coins you've mentioned, the default wallets are pretty much the only option you've got.
3098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Dark market double bubble on: July 20, 2017, 09:21:51 PM
Definitely an endless game of cat and mouse.
Compare it to a hydra, you cut one of its heads off and multiple ones will appear in its place.

I was already thinking that the current markets have been around for too long, you just can't expect to avoid justice forever.

Agora did it the right way, they stayed for a couple of months, maybe a year and made a gracious exit without scamming anyone.
That's how it should be done, don't stay in the game too long!

3099  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC Gambling? on: July 20, 2017, 09:16:53 PM
Definitely Crypto-Games, they allow bets of *any* size, no matter how small.
Small bets on the dice game do go slower if you choose to bet automatically, but it's possible to bet as low as you want!

Minimum bets on games other than dice have a minimum bet size of 0.00001, but that's also pretty low IMO.
3100  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Tell me the trading strategy. on: July 20, 2017, 09:11:40 PM
You're probably investing in a lot of new coins which don't have much historical data for their value/price.
I'd say, stay away from ICO's and new coins in general and focus on some coins that are already somewhat established.

It's easier to see long term trends if you can check the value of those coins for the past few years.

That's how I personally do it and it works great for me.
