3081  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: R.I.P. ChangeTip on: November 22, 2016, 10:46:40 AM

Funny how people are blaming changetip for being "centralised". Guess what, their goal was to enable instant tips on social media, not to become a high value, anonymous payment processor. FFS, they enabled people to send bitcoin tips to those who didn't even know what Bitcoin is. By that, changetip have probably done more in promoting Bitcoin than any other business. Not every service needs to be decentralised.

And no, sending small tips (micro transactions) directly to btc address don't work, it's horribly ineffective and uneconomical.

I wonder how many of members so concerned about centralisation are actually willing to sacrifice comfort and convenience and start using decentralised services. Open Bazaar failed to get any serious traction, probably same goes for bitsquare (not sure though), and this post it's also pretty revealing.
3082  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / R.I.P. ChangeTip on: November 22, 2016, 12:11:36 AM

ChangeTip, few years back one of the most promising Bitcoin startups (raised $3.5m seed funds) failed to get traction and will be shutting down soon.

https://www.reddit.com/r/changetip/comments/5dn3rc/changetip_shutting_down/

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-tipping-service-changetip-shut/

So much for now for the social media tipping for masses. All the users are encouraged to withdraw any remaining balances.
It's a shame to see them go, but you can't operate if you don't generate revenue. I think it's one of those cases when getting massive cash injection at the start does more damage than good to the business idea.

Ps. Dogetipbot seems still to be working tho  Wink
3083  Economy / Gambling / SafeDICE.com ★ Bitcoin Dice ★ Monero ★ 0.5% Edge ★ Fast Cashout ★ Since 2014 on: November 17, 2016, 12:59:40 PM
Any Monero investors here in Safedice? I wanna see some numbers or at least some simple estimates on return of investments. I understand Safedice's very low house edge that is very attractive to players. I am earning some few bucks from my BTC investments although not that high.

You can find all you need here:

https://dicesites.com/safedice/xmr

these stats are for Monero only.

Overall profitability looks very good at almost 2% compared to expected 0.5% but the activity is rather low (daily wagered), with occasional spikes.

Looking at the last week's activity, it would make more sense to invest BTC rather than XMR. Weekly wager/total site investment ratio was 129% for BTC, while only 21% for XMR. This means investing the same amount (in USD terms) you'll get over 6 times better expected return when investing bitcoins.

is it over or something? i tried a few hours ago and got invalid user id

You must be logged in to the account the email address is associated with.
If you created multiple accounts with the same email, the code may not work.
Check you haven't copied the code with space behind it.
3085  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: November 12, 2016, 11:30:26 PM

Hi, I have some questions regarding your affiliate program:

1 - What happens if referred users bet with altcoins? Will you convert commission to BTC or do you keep separate records for each crypto? If the latter, what are the minimum withdrawal limits?

2 - As per below (from your website):
Quote
The best part is that your affiliate ID will be stored, so you will keep earning 1% on all future bets placed by your referrals, for life.
Is the future bets commission only paid if referred user uses the same btc address or email, or do you also use cookies?

3 - Could you provide a current list of blocked countries/jurisdictions?

Thanks
3086  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] | Bitmixer.io Signature Campaign | Earn up to 0.035 BTC/week on: November 12, 2016, 11:00:59 PM
Hey Lauda, would the Bitmixer team be interested in purchasing my avatar space?
...Generally, you're more likely to secure such a deal somewhere else much more quickly.

On the subject: is there any policy regarding advertising other businesses via avatar + personal text? I guess what's not forbidden is allowed, but common sense suggests that Bitmixer probably wouldn't be very happy if someone advertised their direct competitors (other mixers).
3087  Other / Politics & Society / Re: POLL Clinton or Trump vote! on: November 12, 2016, 10:49:11 PM
I didn't cast my vote for this kind of shitty candidates. Honestly speaking, Trump has alot of bankrupt businesses in the US.
...

Irrelevant. Anyone involved in multiple business activities, or investing in startups etc will likely have some failed businesses in his record. Vast majority of newly formed companies go under within first 2 years (~75% for the UK, last time I checked).

Anyhow, since the election is over, I'm locking the poll.

Results:

Total Voters: 57; H Clinton - 19 (33.3%); D Trump - 38 (66.7%)

Thanks to all for participating.
3088  Economy / Securities / Re: BetKing.io - FOR SALE - 7100 BTC PROFIT - Bitcoin gambling site on: November 12, 2016, 10:38:27 PM
drama has begun Huh Roll Eyes

Not really. The site has been offered for sale previously, but since there was no serious offer (afaik) everything stayed the same and there was no drama. Since it's clear that investors' funds are not part of the deal, there's no reason to panic.

...
Regarding cost, I'm looking for offers and not wanting to put a price out there yet. The current highest offer is 1500 Bitcoin.

So if there are no other offers, will you be considering the BTC1,500 one or is it too low? Was it made by anyone with good trust record?

I'm running a promo later tonight where I'll be giving away 4 Bitcoin and a new sig campaign should start in the next few days.

Not sure has the promo already started or was it just test-run, but I already received an email with promo-code for 0.01 btc. Thanks for that!

Thanks joksim299

Wow that was some bet by huggermugger  Shocked

That would take some balls!  Kudos  Wink

That was likely a lucky mistake. He must have had entered "2" in the 'win chance' box instead of 'payout'. Looking at his previous bets and his immediate reaction, I don't believe he did that intentionally. Note that the house edge was almost at 8% for that bet.
3090  Economy / Marketplace / Re: How to make 1 bitcoin in a month or 2? on: November 10, 2016, 10:48:30 PM
What can you do? Have you got any skills? If so, you could provide some freelance type service in exchange for BTC, or for $ and then just buy BTC with that.

If you're not skilled in any area, you can, you know, just look for a part-time min wage job (or similar, ie. become Uber driver etc) and use your earnings to buy bitcoins, if that's what you want.

3092  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: November 10, 2016, 02:18:14 PM
There might be a problem. The bets are processed automatically.

So,just send them the link and pretty sure they will fix it asap..

As posted above, some of the US election bets had to be processed manually, so I just want to make sure that they have finished with it before sending email to customer support. Maybe there's nothing wrong with my bet after all.

Edit: Bet is settled now and payment received.
3093  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: November 10, 2016, 01:16:16 PM
...
After your bet is settled and paid, the status will change to "Settled" and the payout transaction ID will be displayed in the Bet Status page.

I hope this clarifies, please feel free to contact us for any further information.

Thanks for clarifying.
So since my 2016 election bet is still showing as 'confirmed' (not 'settled'), does that mean you're still in the process of manually processing bets, or is there something wrong and should I contact customer support?
3094  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Now Accepting Ether ! on: November 09, 2016, 11:19:36 PM
Is there any way to check which address I requested the winnings to be sent to? I don't see it neither in email or on bet status page.

Will the bet status change from 'confirmed' to 'settled' or 'paid' when it's settled?
3095  Economy / Economics / India currency bombshell on: November 08, 2016, 10:56:23 PM
He did it, absolute madman. Today Indian Prime Minister N. Modi pulled 500 and 1000 rupees banknotes out of circulation. From midnight, those will no longer be a legal tender. That's what I call a short notice.

Official reason: too much "black money" in the economy. Unofficial: to force people to declare their cash-stash and pay tax on it if they haven't.

3096  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: November 08, 2016, 04:12:42 PM
Recently installed this wallet and transfer some few of my funds.  I have a question, Is it possible to use again your previous btc address in receiving btc

Assuming you're talking about addresses generated by your new Mycelium wallet (not about importing from other wallets, as referred to by Millionero above) then yes, it's possible. You get new receiving address each time, as re-using addresses is less secure, but you can see previous addresses (and use them again) when you highlight your account and click sign message (top right), you will see all your addresses listed, just copy the one you want to re-use.

ps. I'm talking about android version.

...
if this carries on with bitcoin in general then I'm done with it unless we get a cheaper second layer very soon. I'll leave the insane expense to those who don't want to be censored or whatever.

I hear you. You're not the only one. What pisses me of equally to the high fees, is unpredictability, you can't really plan your txs ahead. Sending small amounts (i.e $5 worth) with normal priority and paying almost $1/tx just makes no sense.

You're lucky that you noticed beforehand, I use 'normal' priority and tend to never check the fee amount, as so far they've been reasonable, time to change my habits I guess.
3097  Economy / Economics / Re: Passive Income on: November 08, 2016, 03:04:13 PM

For anyone interested, that thread is essentially about managing an investor's money and earning for them through trading. Personally, I wouldn't trust these so-called "trusted traders" with my money. Such things usually end up in an outright scam sooner or later. Why would anyone want to share their profits if they could just borrow funds in a bank at a substantially lower interest?

If the bank doesn't trust them, why should we?

No bank would ever provide you a loan for the purpose of crypto trading, at best you could just apply for a standard, personal 'consumption' loan secured by your salary.

But you don't even need that, since most of exchanges are now offering margin trading. So if someone claims to be successful in trading, then he could accumulate enough own funds relatively quickly, without asking for crowdfunding.

That's unless they're talking about more advanced stuff, i.e. organising pump & dumps, then it would make more sense. But yeah, I'll stay out of it anyway.
3098  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO LIVE] Inchain - insurance for the crypto economy on: November 08, 2016, 01:09:18 PM

> $197k
> good

Pick one.

That's merely ~11% of the minimum goal, and the most attractive period to invest (20% discount) is over. I wish the Inchain team all the best, but things are not looking great. The only hope is that couple of whales will show up and save the day. But logic dictates that anyone who is interested has already invested in 20% discount period. Hope I'm wrong.
3099  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Polish-registered recyclix.com is a Ponzi scheme and provably so. on: November 08, 2016, 12:52:59 PM

everything ok .   is something hurting you ?  so you are claiming the videos are false ? or the facebook group is false ?  you arent making any snense . did you get sand in your pussy  is that why you are trying to be hostile ? you said recyclix wasnt recycling ,videos are saying otherwise .

The funny part is that the claim that Recyclix doesn't do any recycling themselves (apparently they're just crowdfunding platform now) came directly from Recyclix staff. See posts above.
They cornered themselves when trying to explain the legal status of their offer.

1- They can't claim that they buy/process something on your behalf, as even 5 year old would know that it's not feasible to buy and start processing almost immediately, not to mention buying forklift trucks etc. They even stated in their shipment policy that: "The User does not receive rights over the waste, recycling materials, granules, or equipment that he or she purchased using funds from his or her Account."

2- They can't claim they offer any kind of investment or asking for loans as that would require them to obtain license from financial regulators in each country.

So they try to dodge any questions with "we're just crowdfunding platform", which is laughable as crowdfunding is just a way of raising funds, and depending on how those funds are meant to be used and what the customers are promised, they'd still likely be classed as financial service company.

tl;dr Don't ask sbogovac to make sense out of it, he's just pointing inconsistencies. Ask Recyclix directly what is that they do (or claim to do) and why they contradict themselves on FB and in videos.

Dear Poloniex,

I found a vulnerability in your system.
Without disclosing any details, please kindly send 500BTC to my Bitcoin address, provided below.
Thanks.

(I mean, if it works, I'm a fucking genius, right?)

You're doing it wrong. You need to be cheaper than competition. Cut it to 400 btc, or do "2 vulnerabilities for 600 limited offer" or something.
