You do not need to use Windows or other operating systems where automatic driver updates work.

A mining calculator isn't the best answer here. The profitability will change a lot in the coming months. The OP wants to know if GPU mining is a good idea in the long run. To answer the question, 10¢/kWh is a decent price for power when it comes to GPU mining. That's better than average for U.S. residential prices. You'll do perfectly fine even during a coin recession or after ETH PoS. The only rate where GPU mining doesn't make sense in the long run is > 16¢/kWh. However, 10 cents sucks for ASIC mining, so don't buy any ASIC machines except for low-power Goldshells. 5.5-6¢/kWh is average for ASIC farms. I am sure that you wrote the answer by analyzing the data in calculators ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Further, you do not consider the cost of taxes, the risks of equipment breakdowns, the cost of renting or equipping the premises. This question is more complex, so it's better to write a link to a calculator.

If you mine in a private house, then the main mistake of the miner is the incorrect calculation of electricity costs. Mining golden rule: "99% of your expenses are spent on electricity, and it must be cheap." In 2018, even good IT engineers sold video cards at a big loss.
Yes this is a big problem. Many people in germany began mining last year and don´t look at the real electricity usage. They calculate after what hiveos says for example and after they gets their electricity bill in january for the last year - they must sold all rigs absolutly overpriced to cover the bill ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) And for me, i calculate with only 80% of the calculated mining rewards. I see that in some European countries the prices are 20-40 cents per kilowatt, and with such prices it’s definitely not worth mining. I now pay 3.5 cents per kilowatt. You will not be able to compete with miners who have cheap electricity.

Those 1660 still beats rx580 when it comes to efficiency, a micron and Hynix base 1660 can deliver 27MH and takes only 50watts using Trex miner absolute core clock to lock the CC at 1300.
Look at the review of any reputable miner. The consumption of this video card from the wall is ~ 70 watts. Rx580 consumes 95-105 watts from the wall and gives a hashrate of 30-31 megahash. For me it's about the same now.But both video cards have very little prospects after ethereum.

Mining golden rule: "99% of your expenses are spent on electricity, and it must be cheap." In 2018, even good IT engineers sold video cards at a big loss. The second most stupid mistake is to buy video cards several times more expensive than the manufacturer's recommended price.

This is why server cases are very good, they have extra cooling installed in them so you don't need to keep fan speed at 100, the max fan speed should be is 75% and that's even AMD cards like rx580.
I don't understand why visual cards like rx580 should be installed in closed cases. My video cards have been working well in open cases for over 5 years. The closed case is expensive and is best used for hot graphics cards such as the 3080 and 3090, or for example the cheap AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT with very poor cooling.

B75 BTC motherboard is my favourite pick for mining, it supports up to 8 PCie slots, it's also cheaper too I got mine for 50$ from China and it took 3 weeks to get shipped into my country.
A new version for 12 video cards has already appeared B75 ETH Mining Motherboard 12 PCIE to USB Adapter LGA1155 MSATA Support 2XDDR3 RAM B75 USB BTC Miner Motherboard https://aliexpress.ru/item/1005003799714783.html?LGA1155 processor and DDR 3 memory are very cheap. An ideal option and it is not much more expensive than a motherboard for 8 video cards

I'm sure some of you know how hard it is to tweak AMD cards, there are a few drivers issues that can come between you and you getting the best hash rate out of the GPUs, here are my questions
1. What is the best AMD driver for mining on the RX6000 series?. 2. Which OS works best for AMD graphic cards? Linux or Windows?
I haven't heard of problems with AMD drivers and mining on the RX6000 series. If you use the latest version of Hive OS or analogues, then you will only need to set the overclocking settings or select the recommended ones. For some LHR Nvidia video cards, it is better to use windows for a larger hash rate. As per your comment, I got a lesser hash rate on windows using my RTX3070Ti and get a better hash rate using hive OS, 54MH on windows 10 and 60MH on hive OS I believe that HiveOS is the best for Linux and AMD. I did not talk about all Nvidia video cards. For example, for the first RTX 3060 video cards, it will be easier to use Windows with the 470.05_gameready_win10 driver and a motherboard with x16 ports. But miners are constantly updated.

What's the best GPU coin after Ethereum, make a list
My bets are Flux CCX and XHV All your hopes will quickly collapse, because more than 80% of video cards mine Ethereum. Profit will be only for miners with modern video cards and cheap electricity. Not one of the currently known coins can accept even 20% of the current ethereum hashrate, because the profit will be close to 0.

Go with the cheapest build possible, even gtx1060 6GB build would do because the way things are going now mining profitability will decrease a lot so to get by you need a higher hash rate, 120$ per rx580 graphic cards is still coming, imagine how many rx580 you will get with 2500$.
The GTX 1060 or RX 580 are bad choices for the long term because they're very inefficient. After PoS, power efficiency will be critical because revenue will be 5-10x lower than now. The minimum efficiency I would buy would be the RX 6000 series. That's what you think, what about those that have built green energy already? Their aims will be higher hash rates, those gtx1060 won't cost less than 70$ in the bear market likewise rx570 and 580s. rx570, 580s and gtx1060 are good for mining ethereum and ethereum classic, Ergo(ERG) and Ravencoin(RVN). If the profit on these coins is close to the cost of electricity, then these video cards will not buy miners, because it is better to buy the latest series at recommended prices.

The more you are mining and being stable the more accurate the hash rate will be,you can check at the pool directly but you can also check it in the miner window like for example in lolminer here and you see that my hash rate is almost equal to pool hash rate. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ibb.co%2FvCFJQzV%2Fpool-hashrate.jpg&t=663&c=H2GYQx-BMkaK0w) If the mining farm has been stable for more than 90 hours, then Reported and Average Hashrate should be approximately the same. Differences of several percent are possible. On the chart of the mining pool, this is much easier to follow.

In Feb 2021 I built a mining rig with 6 MSI 1660 that costs me 2500$ with motherboard and a 850watt power supply my question is what can this 2500$ built this 2022?
If you live in the USA, then you can buy the same thing for the same money, or the RTX 1660 super a little more expensive. According to forecasts, less than 3 months until the end of Ethereum mining, are you sure you want to buy video cards? I think that in most countries prices will fall every month and your profit will be less than the loss from falling prices.

Is it safe to run my GPU fan at 100% speed every time? I noticed that it's throttling due to a high warm rate, can I do this or not? Will my fan die faster than running at 60% speed?.
Of course, the fan will break faster. If your video card is under warranty, then you should change the fans when it breaks. If you want the cooling system to last longer, then install additional fans to blow air or consider buying a closed case.

ETC (Ethereum Classic) will soon get block reward reduction to 2.56 approximately on April 2022 do you thinks that ETC value will increase from here and now that ETC is the better looking altcoin that miners can switch too what do you have in mind about this?
Look at the Ethereum Classic price dynamics over the past week. +80% is a very good growth, but it is possible that this news will no longer affect the price. Multi-mining operating systems such as nicehash will quickly solve problems with increased profits on the same algorithms.
