Easy, electronic payments are just not as popular in India or Brazil like they are in the U.S. or Europe. There are millions living without cash in America, paying everything with their credit card, whereas in India, there are millions of people without a bank account.

Does that matter at all? Would a change of currency make you a happy taxpayer?
We've got to get rid of all income tax and the government itself. That's the goal.

That's too far-fetched. The freedom to choose a currency is no free speech.

Nice idea, many have thought of it already, but it has to come from potential customers if we want companies to react. Emails shall say plainly that the persons writing want to buy right away to avoid being mistaken for spammers.
So I guess that target companies shall be very carefully selected, and that you shall begin by finding a product or service that many here want to order.

For cars or houses, there are many solutions. For a car, the easiest for you may be to rent it.

Still waiting to see Homer paying for a beer with BTC. It shouldn't take long...

You wouldn't be able to chose the topics, and I wouldn't like to hear about bitcoin all the time. I'm listening to music right now, and most of the day, let's keep it that way.

Please, no! It's one of bitcoin's greatest asset that it is outside all nations and countries, please don't build a new one. Bitcoin shall not be used to create a new nation, but to destroy all the existing ones. Who needs a nation?

It will be auctioned off like other forfeited property.
Correct, this is the most likely scenario. I guess they could make 14 lots of 10,000 BTC each.

Whole of south-east Asia, Latin America, Africa, Russia, can be potential markets.
or let's just say.. the entire world can be potential markets? Definitely, but some countries clearly have more potential, and India is in the top league with a huge English speaking and computer literate population, and a depreciating currency which makes them looking for ways to save their earnings.

I can't recommend opening a bank account online. Travel abroad, open a bank account when abroad, and ask for online access.

I'm surprised nobody said it already, you may have several wallets. It's free! I have 2 wallets on blockchain.info. I have multibit too, on 2 computers. I may lose one wallet, but I won't lose all my BTC.

i just find it soo amusing and frustrating that everyone still uses gox as the main guide of price and follows a sudden $10 drop on gox, as a sheepish reason to then try dropping by $10 on the other exchanges.
I've never used Gox, and my last time on their website was more than 6 months ago. I'm not so sure there are still many people looking at it.

Why did it take almost two years from filing date to publication?
Something smells fishy.
No, that is normal. It's always like this. There are background checks for each patent, and it takes an awfully long time to make sure that there isn't another patent on the same thing.

Well, it was expected. China's the world's largest country by the size of its people, so it's logical there's more trade there. China also happens to have much higher growth than anywhere else in the Western world. Then China has the world's largest army and it's the world's largest polluter. How long before China is the world's richest country?

Somehow, paypal and BTC can probably coexist. paypal will add a fee and security, while BTC will remain wild, unregulated and much cheaper. I've criticized paypal many times for their high fees, but if some people are willing to pay them for added security, that's all right with me.

uncertainty is the rule. Nobody can predict the price of oil in a month, and that's the same for BTC. Actually, it's even more difficult because we can guess what will be the demand of oil in a month, but nobody knows what it'll be for BTC.

The number of people who do not trust fiat/government/banks anymore is also increasing.

I'm also looking for something similar, but different because I don't want it to be instant. I'm looking for the average weekly BTC price between all trustworthy exchanges. Daily or monthly values could also be useful.
---- If I end up putting one together I want that sort of functionality on it as well, with all the historical records. Also thinking the deviation of each of the exchanges during that time period would be a neat feature (i.e., Gox is 5% above average, Bitstamp is 3% below, etc.) And the changing percentage of each exchange over time. Just need some time to work on it... ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) Nice! I'm looking for a weekly average so I can use it in contracts which I expect to be paid within the following week. I don't want to use the latest value because BTC can change too much day-to-day.
