3081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling as a profession: there's people who live out of gambling? on: December 28, 2020, 04:47:50 AM
They are treating it as business, so they would do everything to succeed, they are not like us who are just a typical gambler with a one time bankroll and think that we have to win today and come back tomorrow to win again. No, they have a good mindset and they treat gambling as a long term job and expect a realistic profit, of course they accept loses as well.
The pros as far as I know, they have a managers that help them get through events and such, I think it leans more on being a professional rather than business. I do not think that pros do not call it a job either but for me putting in effort and time to do something should be considered a job, if you want to survive as a pro player, I think that you should also portion your winnings into something that gives a growth like stocks, bonds, and cryptocurrency.

In my opinion, this people that are living out their life through gambling is the most ballsy type of people because every pro aims to get your money and anytime you could lose it.
3082  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lost in USD value on: December 28, 2020, 03:58:13 AM
The comment above was right, you may lose the value of USD but the XRP is not. If you will believe that XRP will raise up again, just hold your XRP. In this case, when XRP will strike to pump again, for sure you will have a doubled profit.
XRP is in a bad spot right now, but don't lose hope. My advice for OP is to hodl which is obvious, the price drops seems to be artificial because it is conveniently coinciding with the litigation of the SEC. This happened to other companies back then, a bad PR did result in price drop but I think that it will definitely bounce back, one that I can remember back then was Chipotle having been accused causing a stomach problems.
3083  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to adjust and work with the bet365 live streaming on: December 28, 2020, 03:25:07 AM
Is this legal?
I know the gambling website is legal but how about the streaming?
There are policies that cannot be streamed without authority or you will need to pay more if you will use it for a different purpose.
Just asking.
We all want to watch live stream sports games but that means taking out profits from sports management, right?
If it is, damn I will sign up too.  Cheesy That might save me some money and rather gamble it.
I think that they are legal, this would never go unnoticed for far too long. I also found a blog that says that their livestream is legal, the blog says that it is free although it is a 2019 article. I think that paying more for betting is justifiable in their case because most games are pay-per view and they are livestreaming it for free. To be honest, some policies are not that sharpened enough to be always enforced, like a hydra, trying to cut of the head of one only sprouts two more so the authorities might have grown tired of repeat offenders, they might be enforced for a year but some of them lose sheen as time goes by.

3084  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This what the paypal CEO said years ago about Bitcoin on: December 28, 2020, 02:33:53 AM
last year, while the decision changed in mid-2020. companies will be very easy to change decisions if it has become a measure of sustainability. I don't think it's strange what companies do with this kind of thing. well it's paypal the fact they say we are now adopting bitcoin.
This is very funny  Grin
They do not change base on sustainability, they adapt because they see profit in bitcoin. The reason that the former CEO says that about bitcoin is that is because of the volatility which is understandable at that time, why would you hedge on something that could go down overnight, right? Pretty ironic that they changed their stance and integrate bitcoin in their payment system.
3085  Other / Politics & Society / Re: America is a proud Country with huge achievments on: December 27, 2020, 09:36:40 AM
America is not a country, what you are referring to is the United States of America. I agree that America has a lot of achievements, Canada has the best Healthcare system in the continent, Machu Picchu in Peru, Atomic Bomb was first developed in the USA via Manhattan Project. I guess the problem is not whether the government is left or right, the real problem is extremism in both sides which does not benefit the people, if you think that someone does not deserve to be a leader, then what is your qualification to say that you are right with what you are saying? Are you seeing what is happening around you? Do you have a just moral compass? Do you think you have the reforms that the country needs? By saying they are corrupt, is the alternative better?

If USA does not solve their problem about racism and ignorance, I think that no matter what we say about it, they will just implode.
3086  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Addresses showing 100000's of transactions on: December 27, 2020, 08:38:52 AM
Exchanges handle probably thousands, if not more, of transactions a day. The addresses you've been watching could be exchanges sending their customers the withdrawals they've requested. Or maybe it's a mining pool's address. A large no. of transactions does not make a certain address "dodgy".
With more companies more than ever, I do think that it will be more common that there will be a lot of addresses doing a lot of transactions. I do agree about removing prejudice towards high traffic address, they could be innocent and what I think a "dodgy" one will do is to spread the transactions to prevent suspicions and to blend in with the crowd, the best hiding spot is plain sight. Do not worry about it OP, they do not affect you in any way and sometimes dipping your toes somewhere you do not know might lead you into some rabbit hole you might regret getting in.
3087  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving back 🎄 on: December 27, 2020, 07:52:12 AM
The reason why I am not much of a fan of charities and NGOs and whatnots is that we are sometimes adding a layer where it is not necessary at all. Not passing judgement on people who are fond of donating to charities. That's good and needed as well as there are also areas where the only help that arrives are those which come from NGOs and other charitable organizations.

I'm just pointing out, however, that oftentimes looking after our own neighbors, families, and relatives is enough. I mean, take a look at your own backyard and most probably there is someone who needs a little help. Your Sats would certainly be much appreciated.
My mantra when it comes to charities is if the charity is big and famous then do not help them, instead you should be looking for charities and NGO's that are helping a small community and needs funding. I would also like to add to donate to your favorite creators in any platforms, most of my picks are available in Patreon so I might as well plug them here. I agree with you in regards to helping those near you but sometimes the best help that you can do is to support them, not every help is monetary. And to everyone that is going to help people, always impart them a message like "If you ever have the chance to help others like I helped you then do it, spread kindness."

Patreons of my Favorite Creators and some NGO's and some backgrounds about them:
  • Anxiety War, catches child predators online and the only way he can broadcast his videos without getting removed is by putting a Patreon.
    Anxiety War's Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/anxietywar
  • Rare Earth is a documentary about history that is not taught in history books, some war crimes that you will never hear in the mainstream media.
    Rare Earth's Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/rareearth
  • Extra Credit creates infographic videos that are a mix of history, videogames, literature and myths.
    Extra Credit's Patreon Page: https://www.patreon.com/ExtraCredits
  • Landmine Relief Fund for Cambodia, they still have a lot of landmines active that claims a lot of lives and limbs to this day and every help can be appreciated.

  • Jim Browning is a Youtube scam baiter that takes down whole scam call centers that are operating.

3088  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Appeal to Everyone to secure your future on: December 27, 2020, 06:48:12 AM
That is the wrong perception. There are many people who are not aware of bitcoin till now. I understand that people find it hard to believe but one day they will regret that they did not follow our advise.
If everyone in the world buy some portion of bitcoin, you can't image how valuable bitcoin can be.
I know that you do not have any ill intentions regarding your post but let me tell you now that people will not heed your advice no matter, they have their own minds to decide what to do and I think that you should understand. There will be people who will agree with you that's for sure but do not drill in your ideals to other, let it seep in. And if the time comes that you are right then it is their fault not yours. I did what you said a long time ago and I think it is a good way to have a secure albeit uncertain future. Let the people regret their decisions OP.
3089  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk is being used as a backlink source on: December 27, 2020, 06:12:00 AM
~
Google actually blacklists link farms and SEO abusers from its search results as it discovers them.
As long as you pay to be on the top of Search Engine, Google does not mind. I have been following a scam baiter Youtuber and most scam call centers that he is attacking are using SEO's to get on top of the Search Engine, these scam websites are paying a lot of money and Google does not take action.
3090  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk is being used as a backlink source on: December 26, 2020, 08:34:52 AM
Good lord. Who pays that much for this? And I thought signature campaigns pay quite a bit per post. It's largely a waste because the vast majority of these links don't stay put. Not sure why someone would pay for that.
I had the same reaction and question too, I do think that this is something done by someone that has been on the forum for a long time. I am not accusing anyone, I am merely speculating because this could help boost the interaction in the forum and in a way creates an artificial increase in the traffic in the forum. I might be wrong though as it could be a poisoning that is happening.
Doesn't google catch on to this sort of thing and take action? It's obviously pretty out in the open and easy to see when a company is utilizing these spam services.
Google does not care as far as I know, as OP said, this might just be a SEO's. If Google cared about this, then a lot of scam websites would not use SEO to poison the search engines.

3091  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: OCC Wants to End Banks' Discrimination of Disfavored Businesses Including Crypto on: December 26, 2020, 07:43:13 AM
Very glad to see news like this. This will bring a whole new level of adoption and the industry will grow as a whole. Sure wide adoption will take some time but this is a good start towards that future.
It might be a good thing but consider what happens when there are a lot of start ups that will start pouring in when it becomes a regulation. They can't handle that influx and they can't discriminate because they need to follow the regulation, the Congress might find a way to this solution but I think what they are curing is not the disease but the symptoms. I do not think that money is the only thing that a crypto business or small business needs, there are more better things than giving them loans like insurances and business protection or reduced business requirements or tax cuts.
3092  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has Bitcoin FAILED? on: December 26, 2020, 07:02:11 AM
many rich people invest in btc more than the poor , i agree that btc is getting farther from regular individuals but there are still other cryptos that are like bitcoin when it was starting .

if you miss the old times of btc you need to start embracing those coins now before those coins will also end up like btc and then you can switch again from the other . btc failed as a currency but it was successful as an investment asset , atleast it didnt totally failed .
I agree with your insight, in my country, I did observe that the gap between the have a lot (upper class), have some (middle class) and have nothing (lower class) is getting bigger by the day, what I would not agree with you is your second statement that each coin might be the next bitcoin because nowadays, most coins that is introduced into the market are just a weaker clone of the stronger ones in the market, it will be a dangerous behavior because you are prone to hypes that lead to nowhere which could put you into a series of financial misfortunes.

Bitcoin in my opinion did serve its purpose, it is the people that uses it that failed, they never believed that it will go that far and now look at where bitcoin is at.
3093  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great News: Nigeria Launches Digital Portal and Mobile App on: December 26, 2020, 06:19:40 AM
~

For cryptocurrency investment in Africa, Nigeria look the largest investor on it even before the system tries going towards the digital system. It may not have the large exchanges in number but on individual base or in single investment, the Nigerian people are investing largely in cryptocurrency.
Have to back this one up, African continents tend to rely more on cashless transfers because most of the countries tend to fall into inflation. Not to mention that security and peace is still not that developed for some places I guess, so having your fiat at hand will make things worse. I always see that Nigeria is on the news when it comes to cryptocurrency, I guess they do know the potential that it can bring.
3094  Economy / Speculation / Re: Cash out or HODL - Bitcoin? on: December 26, 2020, 05:44:26 AM
It seems to me that holding should be a work of intellect. Because the price is constantly rising. I am hopeful that it will be profitable to hold on to it. But one thing to keep in mind is that the future is always uncertain.
I do not think that hodling alone will be good for everyone, I do believe in balance so I am currently dividing my bitcoin into half, the first half being hodl and the other half being cashed out whenever the time comes to cash out. As you have said, the price constantly rise which means that we should take the opportunity to get a piece of that ATH pie.
3095  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Cayman Island trying to become the next crypto friendly nation on: December 26, 2020, 05:09:58 AM
~
I think it is inevitable to do so since if other countries won't do it as well then technically they'll be left behind by the competition who are already implementing it in their businesses, that is why you will see a lot of news about companies having change of hearts about their views in crypto and as well taking advantage of the crypto industry by implementing things related to it. If what Cayman Islands did prove that they have financial gain because of adding cryptocurrencies as one of their financial services then I would expect others to follow.
If there is no reform in financial aspects globally, only the 1% will benefit from it, no matter how good the news is, there is always someone who will exploit the system if we let them be. Tax havens also do not employ their people when they are dealing with a shell companies, most employees come from the original country that the shell company's real owner came from. Tax havens are rife with corruption.
3096  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price on Christmas Eve on: December 26, 2020, 04:25:04 AM
The halving really did stand out, hopefully that it will different this year because that can only mean that the market will become predictable. I had seen this post shared by my friend in a social media platform. The funny thing about this list is that ATH always hits at the last month of the year even though the halving happened over a month.
3097  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Open for bitcoin payment on: December 26, 2020, 03:48:02 AM
Nice to hear btc adoptions started even from small businesses. You made a good decision introducing new payment systems, it may actually boost your sales and may even contribute to the awareness of cryptocurrency.

That's also my dream, putting my own business and integrate that new payment system because there are also increasing percentage in our country of users that has a bitcoin.
It will not be a good practice in the long run, as a business owner, if you are giving the salary at bitcoin and at a given price point, you will eventually hit a roadblock where you can't afford to pay for the salary because the prices, it will be a good thing for the employees because the salary can go up after payday. This won't be a problem for businesses that are on retail or product selling because they can integrate bitcoin in their payment system.
3098  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Massadoption - Is it ready? on: December 26, 2020, 03:15:26 AM
Bitcoin as a whole world currency was 2017 bubble paradigm. Its 2020. Now we all know that its not gonna happend. Most likely not in next 10-50 years. For sure not now..

Most issues that you bring here will be solved in naxt 10-50 years (easy to use apps, easy to use priv-keys) so after this time bitcoin will be ready for mass adoption but ... majority does not give a f. about bitcoin. Not because they don't understand bitcoin ... its because they don't understand Fiats. All they know is that they have to earn it and spend it. 9 out of 10 people asked on street what inflation is won't be able to answer this question. I saw one such street poll in which a woman replied "I'm not interested in something that does not affect me".
A central currency will only be possible if there is only one government which is close to impossible because China, Russia and US exists and they are both on a stalemate which is a good thing. I do not think that mass adoption will be the answer to the problem, if possible I think the best is mass introduction, if they have a knowledge then they might consider. Sadly, people do not care about economics because it does not affect them directly which is understandable, but that is what keeping those in upper class in power, they rely on the ignorance of the masses.
3099  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Browser Extension that Gives Bitcoin on: December 26, 2020, 02:32:25 AM
Can someone explain how it works exactly? As I understand, you have to purchase something from online store using their affiliate link and then they gives you cashback in Bitcoin? Correect me if I understood it wrong. Well, it doesn't sounds bad, but I'm not sure that I would want to pass their KYC just for it.
Any way, so far they are only accepting customers from USA and I think trying to use it through VPN isn't solution.
I do not think that there is a need for KYC, there is no affiliate links, you just need to download the browser extension and buy item from the stores that they are partnered. You can try using VPN but you also need to configure your geolocation.

Actually, there are too many tournaments that has been done during this covid-19 crisis. No lan tournaments but the organizations managed to keep a continuous online Dota 2 tournament. Prizes are still the same from the LAN and even Valve events did.
2021 is the The International time again, probably by the 1st-2nd quarter of that year if they will change the schedule. We'll see again live actions but with certain protocols. Too bad that there won't be that much hype for audience because it would only be like a bubble for NBA. It is just that this year-end don't have much tournament left and most of them are reserved for 2021.
Yeah I have heard some but they do not seem to pique my interest because some tournaments have boring team brackets, it is a good thing that they are still hosting tournaments. The next International would probably get the biggest prize pool because another Battlepass will surely come next year, hopefully Sweden does not see an influx of infection at this time onward so they can continue the most awaited tournament.
