3081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: World cup highest goal scorers update discussion on: December 24, 2022, 11:13:10 AM

But these chances comes in life time. However seems like Mbappe won't be playing more world cup - I read it online that he has faced so much discrimination after he lost the world cup - don't know if that is correct or not.
But Mbappe single handedly carried out the final the criticism is not correct.

Criticism and discrimination are usual at the end of tournament especially when the fans of a team expect their side to win. France was the defending champion that got to the finals , so the fans saw themselves at the verge of picking the trophy again back to back which will be an outstanding record maybe that is what they were looking at. But they need Mbappe in the next world cup and I don't think Mbappe still has the desire to play. The fans can be over reacting if that is true anyway.
3082  Economy / Economics / Re: Nigeria Naira notes and its security features-- CBN on: December 23, 2022, 06:17:38 PM
I don't know how manage that the redesign Naira is already having fake notes when it barely got launched. This can tell us that the system have been compromised alot that it is difficult to get things done. Well I am yet to see the notes and feel it before I could know and master those features but the redesigned and the old that is being phased array has almost same resemblance.
3083  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is the entire Crypto Market ever likely to be Scammed? on: December 22, 2022, 09:44:25 PM

Can I confidently choose Crypto World to safely store all my hard earned wealth?
Like the bank?

Choose bitcoin if you want to and not just any cryptocurrency to avoid what your fears are. The fear of the unknown is really to be upheld in cryptocurrency investment. Don't invest without proper investigation, bitcoin is decentralised and can't be manipulated like some other coins so if you invest in it, you can only have reduced value in price during bear market but you will recover during bull but you are sure no exchange will delist bitcoin. Some altcoins are being delisted from exchanges because of lack of volume and no use case.
3084  Economy / Economics / Re: Hope for cryptocurrency in Nigeria. on: December 22, 2022, 03:29:17 PM

What this proposed bill wants to achieve is to reduce the autocratic powers of the CBN and transfer more powers to the SEC and the National Assembly The CBN should focus more on cryptocurrencies as a means of exchange, while SEC would handle the the sector as an investment option. This is a welcomed development because SEC is more friendly to cryptocurrencies than the CBN, in fact the former recognizes crypto assets are securities  .

You are right because lately the regulatory body as sec is pushed to the background and nothing is heard of it in Nigeria rather CBN is taking all the shine and I guess that is because the CBN governor, Godwin Emefiele is at the corridor of power. He whines and dines with who is who in the APC government and so he gets every approval he needs from the president. But now that the legislative body is trying to wake up to their responsibility and define roles, lets see if sec will take up the mantle. It is only reasonable that there should no restrictions to trading of cryptocurrency and bitcoin in Nigeria and the youth are allowed to take the same chance that other youths has. The economy will begin to have positive vibes in investment.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Nigerian community for the creation of their local forum.

On behalf of the Nigerian users on the platform, I welcome your congratulatory message. I say a big thank you.

Kylian Mbappe scores his 9th World Cup goal 😳

🇫🇷 Mbappe - 9
🇦🇷 Messi - 9
🇪🇸 Villa - 9
🇮🇹 Baggio - 9

From the record of the all time goal scorers in the world cup, kylian Mbappe has the chance to top the record in his life time because he has the opportunity to come for more world cups at least two more, he is still young to play but Messi may not return for it but I'm sure he is satisfied with the records to his name.

Note: I hope you know this is not the complete record for the all time scorers of the world cup. This is the list here

https://www.goal.com/en-ng/amp/news/who-is-the-world-cups-all-time-top-goalscorer/blt3f14b4b579a0c6f5

The best scorers of the world football championships can be seen in this list:
https://www.worldfootball.net/alltime_goalgetter/wm/tore/1/

So, Klose is currently in first place with 16 goals, but Messi with 13 goals and Mbappe with 12 goals are very close to him.
Messi even scored 4 goals out of 13 from penalties.
I read somewhere that Messi stated that he will play in another world cup, if Argentina becomes the world champion. So, Messi will most likely have a good chance to become the top scorer of the world football championships in 4 years.
However, given that he is still a very young and talented striker, and that he will almost certainly appear in 2-3 more world championships, my prediction is that in 8 years Mbappe will become the best scorer in the world football championships and that record will stand for a very long time.

I think the difference between the link you shared and the one I did was the inclusion of penalty kicks scored but that is not what point I was trying to make. I was trying to talk about goals scored in the time of play and not penalty awarded. Penalty is like a free goal awarded for the player to take the chance of scoring. Freekicks are difficult obviously.

However it will make sense if Messi will come back in Canada, Mexico and USA world cup next tournament. Argentina should be coming as defending champion and that means it is an automatic appearance on the world cup and no competition about that.

He should still be less than 40 years and should be fit for the game, I think the oldest world cup players so far is Essam El-Hadary from Egypt

3087  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria to limit cash withdrawals on: December 21, 2022, 09:04:56 PM
[quote author=Alpha Marine

This limit is not completely limiting, according to the article there is a 5-10% fee for withdrawing more than the conditions and that I don't think is a problem for the company.

The limit is going to have a challenge on the Nigerian masses because it is barely limiting individuals from having 50% of cash to run the home. Nigeria is still predominantly a country not urbanized like the technological advanced countries so it is going to be difficult for the market women that do day to day selling a problem. The older businesses that are not in the line of internet banking will also have big challenge. The 5% charge for wanting to overburden the rules is still high.
3088  Economy / Economics / Re: The link between Bitcoin and the economy on: December 21, 2022, 12:44:42 PM
Many people underestimate the influence of Bitcoin on the economy, they think that bitcoin is only speculative so that it does not have a positive impact on the economy, if we look at the facts in the market, of course this is wrong, the fact that the increasing number of new rich people from the Bitcoin business is a fact that cannot be denied, A few years ago people worked at Mining but now many work as traders.

The impact of bitcoin like you said here is helpful to individual and that adds up to the economic investment that would have been missing if bitcoin was not in existence. Bitcoin hodlers have more advantage to multiple their finances through hodling for longer time to catch up with volatility. Now that halving is around the corner, it is another time to double what you have and it proceed goes back to the economy through real investment with families that get financial help from hodlers

3090  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin high prediction 2023? on: December 19, 2022, 07:58:26 PM
the bitcoin trend will usually go up after the previous year it sank, if we look at the trend for several years there seems to be the same pattern, for example a 4 year trend, a 2 year trend and so on, I'm sure that in 2023 the price can rise again, there may be a big case that creates panic like LUNA and FTX but it won't have much effect anymore, and it's possible the price could touch 3x from the current price.
Hopefully what we want can be achieved in the next year so we can get big profits again like before. But before that, we must be patient and keep waiting because market conditions have not improved, and it looks like the market will experience another correction. And hopefully, there won't be any more negative news like before so as not to provoke investors to panic so that the bitcoin price doesn't fall any deeper than now. We can only prepare ourselves by buying more bitcoins at this time because the price is still low.

The altcoins bull is yet to come like it did around 6 years ago. Investors have been expecting this to happen and maybe it may be in the next halving season. However what I notice about this market is that at the right time the market will take a turn either for bull or bear and it is not really about fud or panic. There have been two incidents in the history of the market to support my assertion so far. The Chinese ban in bitcoin in the past didn't stop bitcoin rally in 2017 and 2020, the covid-19 pandemic year rather gave the cryptocurrency market more recognition and that is why we saw another ATH. So hodling is good at this bear time.
3091  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: More Regulation Incoming! on: December 19, 2022, 05:13:47 PM
I don't like regulations, not only about privacy, but I fear that regulations will slow down the growth of the market. I believe most people enter the market because they like the volatility of cryptocurrencies, but once there is regulation, I fear that will disappear along with our privacy. Look at the stock market or the forex market, they are regulated, and they become more stable because they are tightly managed. Regulations are inevitable, but we can only hope they won't be too strict with us.

I don't know the kind of regulation that will be done on bitcoin itself because I don't see that coming. Countries can only try that people don't buy bitcoin but how will they know who is buying in decentralised exchange? They can only regulate centralised exchange and ask for KYC on customers and they monitor the exchange and the customer through that but I don't think total regulation like the forex is going to work.
3092  Other / Off-topic / Re: PSG sign-up and world cup trophy on: December 19, 2022, 04:24:57 PM
It is true that the just concluded world cup has two players who contested for the cup and highest goals scored and no doubt PSG is one of the best clubs. Maybe this has happened by chance that the two players are from one club. Messi is lucky maybe if he was still in Barcelona the cup would not get to him in his lifetime.
3093  Economy / Economics / Re: Tesla’s stock prices dropping fast on: December 19, 2022, 02:46:57 PM
When it comes to management, it's actually not that simple, and I don't think the price is falling just because of the company's attention being diversified. I believe Musk laid off about 7500 workers globally, but that decision seems very harsh to me given the numbers, and one thing I admire about Elon is that he will still bounce back. In addition to being a businessman, Musk also knows how to play the game, so I think the company's 20% decline in market cap is a sign of reinforcement for Elon.

I think he has a good plan for twitter and he is interested to put in fresh work force and maybe this is misinterpreted by the media and that could be leading to the stock of Tesla to be dropping. Surely he will come back stronger and he is a media entertainer, he will come up with some media gigs that will increase the relevance of his companies.
3094  Economy / Economics / Re: Central Bank of Nigeria to limit cash withdrawals on: December 18, 2022, 03:52:49 PM

This time it will be hard for Nigerians to fine their way to abusing the new policy, most especially now that the only option open to both pos and individual bank users are subject to processing fees of up to 10% for transactions above the 20k limit.

This is not exactly true with your assumption. Nigeria has good laws but the implementation is the challenge. It takes political will to do that and that is not usually easy with the Nigerian system that is always running on favouritism and selective justice. This law may look good on the poor and masses but politicians will violate it without no punishment, so this is the issue and that will bring selective implementation.
3095  Economy / Economics / Re: FTX CEO says company engaged in 'old fashioned embezzlement' under SBF on: December 17, 2022, 08:17:53 PM

Is there a chance SBF receives a minor slap on the wrist and short prison time. Or did his luck wear thin here, with him due to receive a more severe penalty?

No I don't think that luck will come to him. He should have known what the outcome will be when planning his agenda to use other people's money. The trick is of course old and nobody will fall for the unintentional plea for excuse on his offense. The court is suppose to get justice for the investors who were hopeful to benefit from their investment. He will either be investigated for hidden properties that will be used to offset the debt owed to investors or he goes in for prison.
3096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: December 17, 2022, 05:19:02 PM

If Argentina loses tomorrow, it will favor Mbape, who will go down in history as the only player to have won two consecutive World Cups for France.

This is true for tomorrow's match because France won last world cup with Mbappe after beating Croatia 4-2 but Mbappe is not the only player in France that was in the squad of last world cup. Whichever way there will be history made tomorrow either from France or Argentina. Messi will surely be the happiest person on it if he won it. The records however favours Argentina to win having met three times, Argentina won twice

3097  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar world cup Final Predictions on: December 17, 2022, 03:15:03 PM
In a few hours, the match for the third place between Croatia and Morocco starts, but no one mention it  Grin
What are your predictions for this match?

Morocco is quite a strong team and Croatia is even stronger than them and Croatia played the final match of the last world cup  against France but unfortunately they lost but for the third place maybe Croatia will win this time Morocco might not have a chance to win. But I am not guaranteeing this prediction so we will know who is going to be the winner of today by watching the game after some time

We don't have to be surprised with the outcome of this third place with Croatia as the favourite and Morocco as the team that is looked down at. Remember even with the way Morocco didn't have the speculative chance, they got this far so whatever brought them this far is still going to be with them and that is that they are young, they play as team, has the best keeper of the tournament. I still believe that they can spring some surprises on Croatia today. Now the score is 1-1 at 17 minutes gone into the first half, lets see how they play out.
3098  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A Chilling Realization on: December 16, 2022, 09:26:16 PM

Therefore the onus is on you as an individual to develop your own method, manage risk, and adhere to the plan no matter what, all the while continuously growing and learning from your mistakes.

Don't follow pump and dump coins if you are planning to hold, this is a good way to be sure that you are steadily going to grow your coins and not the pump and dump coins that can crash you faster and increase your profit faster like wise. It is just between two devils to chose the better part.
3099  Economy / Economics / Re: Bodyguards and security service Will be booming soon for sure on: December 16, 2022, 07:02:51 PM
Don't think of ICO in collaboration to whatever service because it failed and no more trust in it. People won't buy into it, nobody like to be fulled twice or many times. I also see that insecurity is becoming a big problem to the world and communities trying to secure themselves as government keep failing to maintain the primary aim of government, the security of life and property. Therefore, the demand for security guards and other aspects of security is in high demand like dogs. We have more increase in the rate that young men are going into the field of security guards and agents to recruit security personnel and export them to needed countries.

Messi is the best player in the world he has brought his country to the final since he was there and now decides whether to be the winner or not but I saw in some media Argentina tina can win in new history this year.

He would like to crown all his effort with the cup at last and I see mercy really giving all it takes to get it. The Argentine team has grown from strength to strength from the group stage after losing their first match and since then Messi has not given up. This will happen to be his last world cup so he is expected to put his all since he won't have another chance to come back. On the French side, Mbappe is also the man to watch because the two of them are still going to be fighting on the highest goal scorer because they are both at 5 goals each. It is an equal match anyway but one team will finally be crowned and which team will that be will soon be discovered.
