3101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Chinese Man Won $29,392,922.00 & Refused to tell His Wife and child on: November 25, 2022, 01:12:31 PM
I would understand him. Most people who came from a family that is not doing so well financially would certainly take this opportunity to slack off and do nothing for the rest of their lives. They'd surely try to avoid working as much as they could and just rely on the money that they have thinking that is an endless pit with an endless supply of water that they can get resources from. Not judging the man's family in any way, but I heard stories of lottery winners losing their winnings in a short span of time because they refused working and just splurged on the money that they won without regard for their future.
3102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I Am So Done With Betting Until.... on: November 24, 2022, 11:59:34 PM
Things like these happen all the time. One minute you're sure that the one you bet is the one that's going to win due to the odds and H2H then all of a sudden, you will be surprised that the underdog gets the upper hand on their match. IMO odds aren't everything that you have to consider when taking a bet. If 2 teams haven't fought against each other in a long time and it's their first time playing together again, chances are the ones generally considered to be an underdog against any other teams might not be the case when they are against this particular team.

That's one way to build up your gambling anxiety, but you can still take some W's you just have to do a lot more research.
3103  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 1 in 4 americans are skipping thanksgiving in 2022 to save money on: November 24, 2022, 11:51:59 PM
They just know that it's better to skip it than to force themselves to spend on an occasion that can still be celebrated even without lots of food on the table. Well, they can still buy some normal food and be thankful for everything anyway and keep their spending at the minimum while still being able to celebrate thanksgiving. Everything costs too much right now that it's understandable if a lot of people won't follow traditions. It's not required or anything after all.
3104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Ethereum keep its leadership in the crypto smart contract industry? on: November 24, 2022, 11:40:15 PM
Not quite sure about this one, although it's hard to tell since there aren't any close second at all currently. ETH still is the preferred coin when it comes to smart contracts and other app-building alts out there that wanted to do more than just being a coin. It's still a robust and very capable platform with a lot of merits that should be acknowledged first before anyone considers any other platform that offers the same as what it ETH can right now.
3105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright's lawsuit against Kraken on: November 21, 2022, 11:47:18 PM
The return of the half-wit. This guy is still at it even though he's lost a lot of money and time on lawsuits and other legal protest against other entities just because they use the word bitcoin. It's a shame that the legal system allows this person to continuously file lawsuits that are meaningless, but yeah, the court gains profits and I guess that's what matters the most.

Just another day in the office for bitcoin's biggest troll. Nothing to see here.
3106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online blackjack scam! on: November 21, 2022, 11:15:43 PM
These live platforms are often audited so I guess there aren't that much platforms that are cheating against their players. It will be the start of suspicion and the start of them losing players little by little. A single hint of them not being trustworthy is enough for a lot of players to bail out and go somewhere else. Perhaps that incident you mentioned is just a coincidence, but if you have a valid proof that these guys are cheating you, then head over to Scam Accusations board and post a formal complaint alongside any proofs you may have there.
3107  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Roshtein fake money streamer or not? on: November 21, 2022, 09:53:06 PM
Most gambling streamers are paid every stream, so there is a possibility that Roshtein has the same deal as the others that are doing the said content on their channels. You simply won't down a lot of money in something that you are endorsing, because that is counter-intuitive. Instead, you'll want to get money from that endorsement while creating content for them. That is the most logical thing to do, and it would be no surprise if this is the case. They just want to show you how 'good' it is to play on these platforms, but they don't want to put their money on the line—especially if they are known personalities already.
3108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is The Gambling Industry Part Of The Domino Effect That Happens In The Market on: November 21, 2022, 12:30:49 PM
Easily is a part of the equation. Some people buy crypto for the sole purpose of gambling, and their purchases add up to the volume and price action in the market. Maybe not on a major scale, but still somewhat enough to cause something in the market.

We've also seen a lot of casino "hacks" and exit scams throughout the years, but it only made the common crypto gambler smarter on choosing his casino. They never lost trust in the idea, they simply just became aware that such things are very possible to happen and that they just have to open their eyes and read a lot more to not be a victim of these scams. Once that's done, it's up to them if they are confident enough to leave their money in a platform that is a hot target of hackers any time of the day.

As for proof of money, I think it's not really necessary, but if you are really wanting to create your name in the industry you have to honor your word and get winners paid, otherwise your platform will just collect dust but never loyal patrons.
3109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 20, 2022, 11:30:12 PM
Wow! A lot of changes in Dota 2 scene lately ...it's like we are entering in a new era of Dota 2 players or the old one jumped into new teams that have been crated over night or at least out of nowhere.

Yea , Boom just Jaccky and it was a wise decision as he was the weak piece in that team but he is a skillful player that he will find soon a new team.

I remember when everyone was so hyped with Jackyyy joining BOOM when in fact he's quite mediocre as a carry, often needing 24/7 guidance from his 5 and sometimes 4 just to secure farm. Other carry players in the current meta need not constant help from their supports, but they were still able to secure farm or even join fights whenever they need to. Jackyyy's play style is just so passive and reliant on everyone that it's not suited in high level competitions at all.

I still think and believe that EG made the best decision by dropping the player and move to SA because that is where the real talents are and SA pubs and ranks games are way better than NA.

And maybe SA players ask for lower rates while offering the same or even greater quality of gameplay/effort than their NA counterparts. It all started with Beastcoast smashing heads on tournaments and the SA region just flourished from there. I'm yet to see whether this is a good move for EG or not, but as far as talents go, they will never lose any given how many high-ranking immortals and skillful players are on that region.
3110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambling addict? on: November 20, 2022, 11:09:52 PM
fortunately I was cured of my gambling addiction when I was young. remembering the past, before I almost got fired from the school for using school money for gambling and selling my mother's necklace gold for gambling, that was my worst period

Gambling is addictive, so if you feel you have a tendency to become a gambling addict, you should immediately consult a psychiatrist so that it doesn't get worse
Seriously?! You're that young to become addicted in gambling and the school has to kick you out from their institution. Luckily, on my part, I was able to hold still on that younger days of my life.
I'm able to gamble and at the same time it was just maintained. I guess what helped me is that because I was still young, got no money, got no source of money to gamble. That situation I have been in truly helped me at least to naturally control me with my finances and gambling activities, not that addicted but still a gambler.

Well it's not surprising that the young ones are engaging in gambling activities, especially if they have company that are not really upstanding and not really watched by their parents as they grow up. I have had a couple of friends way back that does a lot of gambling and made good money while everyone was still in high school. I envy that they have money but I don't envy the way on how they acquire it. Even though I develop some liking to gambling, it never resulted in me being an addict. I still handle my finances well and I never exceed way beyond my set limit for my bets.
3111  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hacker of FTX dumping ETH for BTC on: November 20, 2022, 10:40:06 PM
It is not a hack the Bahamian government are seizing their assets.

I thought that the seized assets will either stay as they were, either will be sold for fiat. But selling for Bitcoin...? looks a bit suspicious to me.
...Not that I'd mind to see a government have more trust in bitcoin than fiat. Cheesy

Initially my first thought. I thought those seized funds will remain in the form that they were seized, and afterwards be sold to an auction after everything is clear and the sale has a green light. Not sure why they need to convert into something else when the crypto they seized is already usable and valuable as it is. Also, the price movement patterns of ETH and BTC isn't really that different from one another so I don't know what the intention on converting these coins in the first place.
3112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A reminder about the media on: November 20, 2022, 10:07:46 PM
Right, another speculation on the price of bitcoin. Well, these are no different to what the media portrays anyway, however on these predictions, bullish sentiment can be seen whereas in the media it's only negative from that they're after. No matter how feel-good or positive these predictions are, you can't deny the fact that we are still being battered by lots of sell orders due to the FTX fiasco that occurred very recently. Investor confidence on any alts is very low, and you can't really convince them otherwise at this point in time given how fresh the issue is.
3113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: F1 Formula Sports Racing - Sportsbet.io promotions & discussion thread on: November 20, 2022, 07:54:42 PM
For now, however, it looks like the podium could be VER-PER-HAM (since Hamilton also wants badly to end at least before his teammate).

It has become VER - LEC - PER.  Grin

The race was mostly boring to tell the truth. Perez made me excited first after starting to close the gap with Leclerc in the last laps of the race. But Perez lost an important amount of time while trying to overtake two drivers and Leclerc secured his position. Leclerc finished as the second in the driver standings by like a three-point gap. This makes me question Verstappen's attitude against Perez in the previous race again. Because if Perez got what he needed there then he could have been in Leclerc's position now.

Hasn't Verstappen expressed his interest in replacing his teammate? I think I've read that somewhere a few days back after Verstappen's decision to not give Perez that spot. Dude is an extremely talented driver I'll give him that, but his attitude towards his teammate is really meh. Hopefully Max makes it up with Perez after that incident, but with the way things are going it seems like the rift between the two is still wide. That's drama and I think it will somehow give a little more excitement to this season, to see whether Max makes a swift character development or just leave things the way they are.

However I believe both drivers deserved this position by fighting hard so far. Leclerc dealt with big problems because of Ferrari most of the time. There were some times he also made simple mistakes but it is mostly Ferrari's fault. Maybe if FIA didn't make changes that would affect Ferrari badly in performance then things could have been a little more comfortable for them though. But I believe Ferrari still need to make changes in their crew to decrease the mistakes to minimum.

I'm mostly sad with Leclerc because you can see that guy is really trying to push the limits to secure the second position. It's just that his team isn't really helping him at all with on-the-fly decisions and comms that are really confusing for the man. It's not only the car's performance but also how they coordinate and execute their plans of attack. Dude's so dominant as a driver but his team is holding him back.

3114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gervonta Davis VS Hector Luis Garcia SAT, JAN 07, 2023 on: November 20, 2022, 07:16:32 PM
I got confused, I thought that we have Ryan Garcia all set for May?

But now Tank is going to fight another Garcia this January? and then go for a May fight with Ryan? something is not right here, the fight is very close to each other and I wonder how Tank will manage that one. Unless he knockout Hector Luis Garcia in round one here.

Something is not right here, something's fishy.

Probably just looking to have someone in the ring to make money from before the long-awaited fight with Ryan Garcia. Might not be an easy work for Tank but if he scores a KO then it will just prop up people's interest in his bout against another Garcia. Either way, Hector Luis Garcia would still get some paycheck, and win or lose, depending on his performance, he can say that he fought with one of the current greats in boxing, and that might even give him some openings on other good title shots.
3115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: November 20, 2022, 06:29:06 PM
Dude's not going to be jailed. He's got a lot of deep-rooted connections in the gov't. Although he's directly responsible for people losing a lot of money, they will find a way to bail him out and continue being a puppy that will play ball with his connections. He's not in it when all is going to shit, although he was there when things are starting to get a little messy. I'll be surprised if he even gets a few months jail time, but I really doubt it.
3116  Economy / Economics / Re: Notable people on current and upcoming economic issues - should we be worried? on: November 20, 2022, 06:01:50 PM
If notable economists say the same thing then yes, we should be a little concerned. If only billionaires are saying it then perhaps we should look for confirmation first. Billionaires may have been successful and have lots of money in the bag, but they aren't gods in economics although they may know an indicator or two on whether something is bad or not. Economists however, they have their entire career focused on determining these things even from a mile away. I'd listen to an experienced economist any day more than Bezos or Kiyosaki regarding this matter but yeah, all signs point towards economic recession, and it may not be long before we experience its full-blown effects.
3117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How are Online casino's and sports betting platforms coping? on: November 20, 2022, 05:07:29 PM
How do you think online casinos and sports betting platforms are adjusting to manage the situation?

People take to gambling when the economy becomes tough like we have everywhere in the country now. They think gambling creates more and easy chances of making money and they go patronising them. There are new casinos and gambling sites springing up everyday and I guess this present hardship helps their businesses.

Well even if the economy is good, those who got it rougb turns to gambling in hopes of taking the prize home and not working for the rest of their lives. That's why a lot of people are betting on the lottery; they want to change their lives around in an instant and without doing too much work, so lottery is their best answer for that. I kinda understand what they want to happen in the lottery, but in other forms od gambling? Not so much.
3118  Economy / Economics / Re: Household debt soars at fastest pace in 15 years as credit card use surges, Fed on: November 19, 2022, 11:59:24 PM
I have started to decrease my monthly spendings on my house. I live alone, with some pets, and it costs me less than $500 to live comfortably (excluding rent which is another $500). Everything is extremely expensive nowadays that I forego my trusted brands to something less known, but still does the same thing. You can feel the effects of these economic downturns in a very personal level, and if people still keep on using credit cards whilst not being able to pay back what they owe, the system will just implode, and we'll all find ourselves f'd in the ass.
3119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a gambling addict? on: November 19, 2022, 11:46:01 PM
I gamble once a week, $20, regularly. There are times when I don't play simply because I don't feel like it, and never have I gambled on weekdays even if I have the luxury of time. Perhaps that makes me not an addict but rather someone who isn't really into gambling that much. It gives me leisure and it brings me enjoyment, but I can definitely live without it. Heck, I think I'm more addicted in coffee or in vaping even though I recently acquired my liking with it. One thing's for certain though: I'll never put my finances and my life at risk just because I gamble.
3120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Running a casino during crypto crash on: November 19, 2022, 10:49:53 PM
They probably have a system in place that converts some of their crypto profits to a stablecoin and hold it as a reserve for this scenario. If that's the case then the same casino would have a lot of crypto during a downturn if they decided to convert that reserve stablecoin to something else.also during a crypto crash, more crypto per dollar is being spent, so I don't think casinos would have a problem any way; it's not everyday that a whale wins in these platforms, you have to keep that in mind.
