Being safe and guarded is an utmost self-care. The rate at which scammers operate these days is becoming worrisome. There's no way to stop it rather precautionary measure be put in place to be on the safer side. As a digital guru, you should know that unknown links are very suspicious and should be wiped off immediately you encounter such in your mailbox, don't click on links your are not sure of, when typing on search box, type complete and don't autofill to avoid phishing, delete immediately email not recognized.
3102  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Be a Failure Even If It Hits $100,000, Says "Black Swan" Author !! on: July 03, 2022, 04:47:01 PM
Bitcoin promoters are betting on an eventual recovery that will vindicate their strength of conviction. However, even if the flagship cryptocurrency manages to surge to as high as $100,000 during another bull market, it will still be a failure, according to Nassim Taleb.

The famed mathematician explains that the leading cryptocurrency has failed as a hedge against inflation. In fact, it has actually acted with opposite properties.

As reported by U.Today, Taleb believes that the ongoing cryptocurrency winter may degrade into a full-blown “ice age,” meaning that prices will not recover for a long period of time (if ever).

The “Black Swan” author has also taken aim at “bitidiots” like El Salvador President Nayib Bukele who still claim that Bitcoin is cheap in a recent tweet. The self-proclaimed “world’s coolest dictator” continues to gamble away taxpayer money. Earlier this week, Bukele bought another 80 Bitcoins despite the fact that El Salvador, one of the poorest countries in the western hemisphere, had lost more than $50 million because of his ill-timed Bitcoin purchases.

Well everyone is right in their own way and entitled to their own opinion. He has said what he knows best as an expert and professional in the making but that does not stop Bitcoin from being the first and Genesis of blockchain.
You see I would not be surprised the critics are the Whales tommorow because they are going at causing fud making holders to panic sell at cheaper price for the dear of loosing out while causing dip and the critics would be there in hidden identity buying the dip. That's why I do not take these comments by all these people serious as they know the game they play and what they are upto.
3103  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to cash out crypto payment on: July 03, 2022, 04:29:54 PM
A software company want to pay me in USDC but I dont want to sign with KYC , I dont want to put my ID online is there a way to create a USDC wallet to receive payments and cash out directly ?

Thanks

If there is nothing in your cupboard then you should not be afraid of kyc. Most firm online now adhere to the strick policy anti money laundry. I'm not surprised at your question. It's normal to wanting to avoid such though there are other exchange that has limit for non kyced members. You can give your shots there and see if it works out for you. And if I may ask the organization requesting for you to do kyc didn't you reached out a term and agreement on payment before you did the job? Why are they now curious on your identity after delivering services to them.
3104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Bitcoin is valuable? on: July 01, 2022, 01:14:39 PM
For example, several people have no money, but want to play a few games of mahjong, and then make an appointment for a card of poker to represent one dollar. Poker then generates a dollar value. The value it carries at the moment is the mutual promise of several people, and its function is to calculate the quantity.
In today's digital age, the immutable properties of the Bitcoin database accurately carry the mutual promises of Bitcoin holders, which can quickly calculate the quantity and transfer each other.
As a final note, Bitcoin is hard to come by, and if 21 million people buy one each, they will never be able to buy it again.

There are a million and one reasons why Bitcoin is valuable.
At first, it is the the first blockchain with a recorded Genesis onchain transaction of it's kind.
It is tagged as the modern day digital gold for which I am well aware you are informed about it.
It has a total supply of 21million which not all are in circulation. This makes it a scarce commodity and it's fractions more valuable than every other token or coin existing.
Bitcoin holders far much surpass every others existing onchain which makes it generally acceptable and some nations accept it as a legal tender.
Come to talk of it, the transaction Is very fast compared to Fiat transaction where you would have to wait for balancing of ledger before anything comes up to you.
3105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador Purchase More Bitcoin At $19,000 Each on: July 01, 2022, 12:38:06 PM
I would say that this man knows and sees the future of Bitcoin. Taking advantage of the dip now is a good strategy at positioning the economy of the country in a good economic boom in less than no time. He has proven himself to be a Bitcoin lover and an advent follower of the Crypto industry. As a pro Crypto nation, I believe the nationals would make good use of this opportunity to fill their bag this bear market while waiting for bull run.
I pray other nations sees the good in blockchain and give it a try allowing their citizens be a part of the industry without any much stringent rules.
3106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Today is the story of my investment in Bitcoin on: June 30, 2022, 12:06:00 PM
I decided yesterday morning that I would buy 1 bitcoin from this dip market. But I did not have enough money.  With which I can buy 1 bitcoin. I had an Fixt Deposit of $ 6,000 in the central bank. And the bank would paying interest at the rate of 5.5% APR. I broke it down yesterday and decided to buy Bitcoin with that money. But with this money I will not be able to buy 1 bitcoin.  On the other hand, my dream and desire is to buy 1 bitcoin. I then decided to take a loan and applied to the bank for a loan. But I told the bank that I would use this money for business. The bank agreed to give me a loan of $10,000 at 10% APR interest. I take advantage of that opportunity and take out a loan. And the remaining $ 4,000 I borrowed from my uncle and promised to pay him 8% APR interest, which is more then bank interest. Finally i bought just now 1 BTC price at $20,000. It gives me a different feeling That feeling I have never had before. I think if I hold this bitcoin for 2 years I can get 100% -500% profit. Then I will be able to easily repay my debtors with an average interest of 18-19% in 2 years as an average of 9.something% APR and I will be able to keep a huge profit.

It is always stated that we should use what we could afford to loss. Taking a loan from a bank and also going thus far to borrow from your uncle sounds funny though but I commend you for your courageous and bold step. I know you have made your decision before that step you took but you should know that the market is very volatile and no one can predict the next market move. Though it's very much Risky to have gone this far. So what if your expectations of return goes beyond 2years of expectancy and Bitcoin is still down, what would you do about it? Would you sell or just hold and look for a way to pay back your loan or you appeal for debt cancellation.
3107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "I'll wait for the dip!" - The Crypto Noob Cycle on: June 29, 2022, 11:53:28 PM
This is an interesting topic though.  I know many have had this experience then as a new bee in the system. As an inexperienced trader, you just jump into the market without ful analysis to know when to buy and when to sell. When the market is heading down then you panic sell  turning to paper hands. Nobody can tell the bottom line of Crypto inThe market as it is  very volatile and  fluctuations not as clear as it used to be. That is why you are advised to use your spare funds you could afford loosing so as not to start blaming anyone for your loss.

3108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: lost all btc on: June 29, 2022, 11:14:13 PM
So sorry about your loss. As you already know transactions on blockchain can not and never be reversed. It is gone and gone forever but however, you can trace the transaction and wallet to know if it is a third party wallet so as to know if the wallet account belongs to a exchanger or so. This can aid you monitor the transaction and movements taking place on the wallet.

If you are new in blockchain, I would advise you to go do a little research on wallets so as to guide you through to making a good choice of wallet to use, guiding you on how to setup a wallet and measures taken to safely protect your digital assets when using the wallet.
3109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto in time of rescue. on: June 28, 2022, 10:11:26 PM
Today I decided to take a walk down the road side. Normally I don't take anything with me as I walk but today I decided to go out with my mobile phone. While taking a walk I admired the environment and surroundings as beautifully made and was full of joy and happiness. On getting to the other end of the Street, I noticed some group of boys ( assumed to be
in early teens age) walking pleading for help. So I stopped and called one of them inquiring to know what the matter was and he said that the others were his brothers and that they have not eaten anything yet today. I felt bad and I wondered what must have happened. Well I never bother asking them any question further because from the looks, things weren't alright with their parents.
I had no money on me to give them neither do I have any money on me to buy food for them there and then. I had to invite them with me to a friend  whom owns a supermarket at the other end of the Street. I introduced him into Crypto a longtime ago. We had to walk a little distant as well. When we got to his supermarket, I bought some snacks and drinks for them and they were all happy. They thanked me for coming to their rescue in time and I was wondering if I had not taken a walk what would have happened to them maybe God wanted me to rescue them that was why I went out and with my phone. After they had gone, I turned to my friend and explained him how it all happened I pleaded with him to accept Crypto in payment and he accepted for the kind gesture I showed to the kids. There and then I paid the bill in Crypto with my phone.

I was happy  to have rescued those innocent kids wondering about for help. Internally I had joy that filled me all through and secondly I was able to do that through Crypto payment.
What you did OP is definitely a good deed and the good thing about it is that helping them is made possible even with just crypto in your mobile phone. Reality is that crypto cannot be underestimated anymore as it could also be used an instant fiat where there is more convenience and fast transaction. You just have to look for a store owner that accepts crypto, and then everything just got right. Hopefully, you will continue to help OP especially if you have gone too far already with crypto in you.

Never will Crypto be underestimated. There have been many instances where Crypto played a big role for example the Ukraine war donation funds early this year was realized through Crypto donation which amounts to millions of dollars equivalent. As you can see, the emergent of Crypto has been a very relieving tablet in time of emergencies. This shows how Crypto can be a means of rescue when ever a situation of this nature or anyother comes up. Well, this is what I love doing but for this particular, I did for the first time and I am happy about that. It made me come to realize that if we constantly do pay for services or goods regularly from a particular vendor whom is in Crypto gradually that vendor would get used to it and automatically he or she would start accepting Crypto From from you and possibly extend to others as you have made the move.
3110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did Bitcoin Disappointed You ? on: June 27, 2022, 09:20:16 PM
Bitcoin has broken the all time high of 2017 and now it is around 19,000$. The worst part is that even on these level, we are not seeing any pumps and look like price may fall all the way to 10,000$ or even lower.
Once bitcoin was at 69,000$, who would have thought that bitcoin will go so low so fast ?  Now what do think, where we are in terms of bitcoin cycle. I think we are already in th bear market since summer of last year and maybe the bottom/ end of bear market is near ?

I don't bother myself with issues that I know isn't beneficial but for Bitcoin, it's the super moon. Irrespective of the current bear market, Many  have benefitted big time for the Bitcoin market while some have had series of unfortunate losses. As a smart Crypto investor, we all know the time to bag more to the fullest for future benefits and moreover, it is  a store of value so holding Bitcoin is never a mistake because when bill market starts, hodlers would  make it big time and forget thier sorrow. The current market is for men whom got the heart, if you don't, don't bother going near.
3111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As some people want bulls some people want bears, bitcoin like season on: June 26, 2022, 04:05:35 PM
Some people thought bitcoin is a ponzi scheme, some thought it is a scam, but bitcoin is neither a ponzi or a scam, hope some people will lot be foolish until they realize the benefits they can earn from bitcoin holding. This is how I see bitcoin, like natural occurrences, I understand it is not nature but it can be related to seasons, sun and rain. When some people want the sun to shine, some people will want the rain to fall. But regardless of wish, the rain can fall or the sun can shine at any time. But some people wait for the period of sun or rain, they make the right calculations and predictions and they are happy as it happens as they predict, but it can be the other way around sometimes, a time patience is necessary.

The price of bitcoin can not continue to increase, it is just like season, the sun and the rain. The bull season is gone for now, the bear season came and still around, the bull season is coming again. As some people are complaining that the price of bitcoin has fallen,  bitcoin is dead reached all time high on Google search. Actually, bitcoin price falled, as some people are complaining, some small investors are happy now that 1 bitcoin they were not able to hold when the price was so high, they can be able to hold it now. Just like on this forum, some people that join signature campaign are happy that they earn more bitcoin, including me, I am among them.

Small-time investors achieve the 1 BTC dream as Bitcoin holds $20k range

Quote
With BTC recently trading at the $20,000 range for the first time since 2020, small-time investors found a small window of opportunity to achieve their dream of owning at least 1 BTC. On June 20, Cointelegraph reported that the number of Bitcoin wallet addresses containing one BTC or more increased by 13,091 in just 7 days.

While the total number of addresses holding 1 BTC saw an immediate reduction in days to come, the crypto community on Reddit continues to welcome new crypto investors that hodled their way into becoming a wholecoiner.

As bitcoin can not continue to rise, it can not also continue to fall. As some people sell, some people are planning to buy. What will only happen during the bull time is the price of bitcoin to increase significantly again and reach all-time-high, the bull time may be long, but it is coming. But now and hold.

"Ceteris Paribus" as the case maybe we all know that bear market are as a result of market reactions. At this point, when the market is down, it is advisable to fill your bags or hold while there are some panic sellers out there wanting to sell so as to avoid loss in investment. As a smart investor, it is right time to buy so as to increase your portfolio and make more profits. Subsequently, Bitcoin has displayed it's current state but upon which, it soars high after than same scenario and reaches a new all time high to remedy it's current state.
And lastly I would say this, Bitcoin is not a scam neither is it a Ponzi but a store of value otherwise called digital gold.
3112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is dead! on: June 26, 2022, 03:53:57 PM
Someone will keep telling you that Bitcoin has collapsed… if you don't zoom out, you won't see the truth.
  • January 2015 - Bitcoin plummets to $225
  • July 2017 - Bitcoin plummets to $2500
  • June 2022 - Bitcoin plummets to $20K

Someone will still tell you later, bitcoin crashed to $200K… run before it's too late.

Bitcoin has been around for 13 years and for the last 13 years the negatives about bitcoin have always been there and you know bitcoin hasn't stopped yet.

source: ThuanCapital

Saying Bitcoin is dead is the normal thing every beginner would say. The trend is always so for years and has been on steady repetition. There's always a bear market before a bull run. Bear market makes sense for all diamond hands on acquiring more and filling their bags.  You should know that bear market or corrections are normal and it paws way for bull run which means increase in token value. However, newbies people who bought high are majorly the ones who suffers it most when entering the market at that stage.

Well i will partially applaud you here for a Weldone job because the aspect i thought you could take advantage of is in giving the boys orientation on how bitcoin can be a rescue to their present predicament, you only gave them fish and didn't teach them how to become a fisherman, they took your kind gesture as and advantage to advance in subsequent begging from other people because sooner they will still get hungry without an idea of the way out of hunger, letting them go without any impact is just a spoil on it all.

There's a proverb that says "a hungry man is an angry man" talking about Bitcoin or Crypto isn't what should be the solution at that moment. The kids are hungry and I believe angry as well because they have not been able to feed. Talking about such to them would make no sense to them because all they care and would want to listen at that moment was to eat. Come to talk of it, the are kids that can't afford a mobile phone so how does it sounds to them when they aren't up to the age of adapting to what you are about to dish out to them. At that very moment those kids are not stable for such conversation because all the think at that moment is food so telling them such at the instance is more or less pouring water into a basket.
Lastly the essence I did this post was to show how Crypto met the point of need at the spot where I had nothing on me and the joy that it feels to have done such for the first time in the spot rendering assistance to those kids at that instance and paid in Crypto.
3114  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El-salvador bitcoin investment is underwater on: June 25, 2022, 05:46:17 PM
I would commend El salvadors President for the fit taken so far investing in Bitcoin. Irrespective of the fact that the El salvador is the first country to officially accept Bitcoin as a legal tender and also means of store of value in the world. Though they bought in high and are currently running at a big loss but they are never perturbed with the events because for sure Bitcoin would surely spring forth to beat it's all time high. This the El Salvadors president did for the interest of the nation and his people are fully backing him up. This is one thing I love about them.
3115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto in time of rescue. on: June 24, 2022, 08:42:53 PM
I guess it varies per country, but don't they have Child Services for cases like this?
There should but what do you expect when there are corrupt leaders in power leading the affairs. Embezzlement, theft and money  laundry is the talk of the day in government. You just have no voice saying anything to them otherwise what you see is what you get. It's a mind your business affairs.

No doubt Russia is a very strong and sophisticated nation hence their technological upgrade. Going into mining tells how real blockchain is and the era of digital economy is taking over with high competitive display. Russia as a nation has many blockchain and Crypto enthusiast and I think they stepped up the game with a strong leading margin irrespective of what is been said about them. Russia is really ready and her citizens together with organizations are taking the step forward to achieve a digital economy which will drive fast and rapid growth.

3118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China warns Bitcoin is heading to zero on: June 24, 2022, 04:41:07 PM
After this, the newbies would panic and therefore cause market down thread to zero. Chinese government  always have longed wanting to put out a ban on  Bitcoin which I don't think would be an easy fit for them. If you don't, as a smart investor, buy the dip if you can while paper hands sell, diamond. Nobody can stop the existence of Bitcoin not even the government can do that. This is more or less market manipulation by the government so that some key men can buy more while the market is still favourable to whale's.
3119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A police officer (ASP) in Bangladesh was detected as crypto investor on: June 23, 2022, 04:36:08 PM
It's funny to see a police officer who was supposed to working as per the law, has recently been detected as a cryptocurrency investor. Well, I'm happy to see that personally to be honest.
Last month, the ASP has posted on twitter that he was holding 130 million LUNC which was around ~$70k at that moment. We all know what happened to Luna. He has invested in LUNC after the LUNA crash.
Though I'm personally happy to see that, but it shows how people in Bangladesh are breaking the laws. A lot of people are active in cryptocurrency trading despite govt discouraging it many times.
It's sad they have picked shitcoin instead of bitcoin.

I am not surprised to seeing this. As a matter of fact, top government officials are fully into Crypto in various anti Bitcoin/Crypto currency law enforcement nation but you wouldn't know about it. The law makers are usually the law breakers. Don't be surprised to hear that top financial institutions bosses and staff are into Crypto even the government highly revered accountants too. They fix the law, still they mess things up deceiving the citizens of their various nations.
3120  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It’s clear that the Nigerian Government cannot stop Bitcoin on: June 23, 2022, 10:48:16 AM
A report by Paxful a cryptocurrency trading platform showed that the volume of money sent by Nigerians via it's network doubled from October 2021 to May 2022. While global deposit volume increased five times since the platform launched its integration on the Lightning Network in September 2021. The firm stated that Nigerians traded at least N77.75bn ($185m) worth of Bitcoin in the first three months of this year, which is a 5.71 per cent increase from the N73.54bn worth of Bitcoin that was traded in the corresponding period of 2021. Last year a report by Chainalysis disclosed that nation is the sixth leading nation in the world in terms of crypto adoption. While recently KuCoin, a crypto exchange reported that about 33.4 million Nigerians traded or owned crypto assets.

Nigerian Bitcoiners achieved these entire feats despite the bearish mode of Bitcoin and Central Bank of Nigeria restrictions. In February of 2021, the CBN asked banks in the nation to stop transacting in and with entities dealing in crypto assets. In fact doing that attracts a hug fine that would definitely affect that bank’s operations.

Recently a Nigerian Bitcoin trading Linus Williams Ifejika, aka Blord floored the Nigerian government anti-corruption agency called the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission in court. He was arrested on August 31, 2020 an accused of internet fraud and his properties were seized. After a twenty four months running battle with the anti-graft agency, the bitcoin trader won his case in court and all his belongings were released. This entails that even the Nigerian court indirectly recognizes Bitcoin as a legal currency.

A country that is ravaged by inflation, unemployment and high cost of financial transactions and Bitcoin directly or indirectly assists most young Nigerians to minimize the impact of these challenges (this was before the drop in price of Bitcoin). The government should have known by now that Bitcoin has come to stay in Nigerian and they don’t need a soothsayer to inform them that it is time to give up and change their stance.

When a the government in power can not meet up to the expectations of her citizens, the citizens resolves to an alternative means of survival. This is the case of Nigerians I guess. Bracing bitcoin was a good move by Nigerians and it is paying or rewarding them. Currently now the world is going through  economic crisis and it is a hard time in most countries. However, this has made many to opt for crypto as alternative means of survival. No matter the move of any government, they can not stop the bitcoin movement. As the identity of the founder of bitcoin is unknown, it would be very difficult for any government to fight bitcoin to extinct.
