Quote
If KNCMiner delivers 28 nm on the dates they've promised, I will buy a hat and eat it.
28 nm is state of the art for billion-dollar graphics card companies.
Thoughts?
It does seem awfully ambitious. Has Orsoc delivered 28 nm anything already?
There's no way they'll finish up a 28nm miner by September.

I'm with you on this one. I don't see how it's physically possible to have any Bitcoin ASIC shipping at 28nm by September 2013, or before mid 2014 for that matter.

Again, I would love to be wrong on this.
3103  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 02, 2013, 04:51:25 AM
I'm in for at least 10.  Will put up coin near end.

Ditto for putting in coin after this snowball grows a bit more. Definitely down for another 20.

EDIT: FWIW, I heard back from friedcat on my personal inquiry.

"You could buy 15 from us at 0.1 before August 10. The rest of the 50 may be covered in later this month. Payment address is xxx. Arklan will cover the rest 20 for you."

 friedcat for President !
3104  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: ASICMiner USB group buy REOPENED! (previous customers only!) .175 per unit! on: August 01, 2013, 10:22:18 PM
I'll take another 20 @ 0.175

Have not heard anything official about the price drop, though. I have an email to Friedcat about wanting to independently buy another 50 @ 0.1 BTC that has not yet been responded to Sad

Simulation on what? Judging from the ICA 0 driver used and hashrate it looks like an Asicminer Block Erupter USB...?

It certainly does look like an ASICMiner USB Block Erupter. Curious.
3106  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs shipping 300 units a day on: August 01, 2013, 03:56:55 PM
I ordered a 7GH/s Jalapeno last month.  I don't care if it takes a year to arrive.  ROI isn't important to me.  It's not even a consideration, really.

Hopefully those who have got ROI in the forefront of their minds will get refunds, making my order shuffle it's way closer to the front of the queue.

You should care. The money you spent last month on a 7gH/s miner will more than likely buy you a 70gH/s miner a year from now.

Furthermore, they have stated they have ceased giving refunds now for your orders as they are shipping.

perhaps Josh has redeeming character traits if you met him in person and didn't rub him up the wrong way. I'd certainly give him the benefit of the doubt to place his best foot forward in person before making my mind up irrespective of what has been alleged and written here.

 Son, I am dissapoint.
You don't know the guy, neither do I. All you have is forum FUD and how it's being spun, although admittedly he appears to do himself or his customers no favours.

I need to respectfully disagree with you on this. I might recommend you look into my history on these forums a bit if you are not familiar with my experience.

Picked up 350 shares of this. Lets see what happens !

Good luck everyone !

I will be really surprised if KNC keeps their timeline.
They are the next BFL. You heard it here first.  Wink
If it makes you feel any better, Avalon is the first new BFL anyways (delays, customer service, etc.).

I genuinely hope you are wrong about KNC entering the upper echelons of Bitcoin infamy as BFL, and to a lesser degree Avalon, but my gut is telling me you are right.

I have a tremendous respect for the Swedes. I work with a bunch of them and they are incredibly intelligent and hard working folk, but I've got a real bad feeling, mostly due to the 28nm factor.

I honestly think we're still at least a year away from that. Maybe as soon as 6 months.

3111  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL is Assembling 400 (not 300) Units a Day! on: August 01, 2013, 06:00:51 AM
Halfway through the 136 posts and guess what I learnt? My BFL bashing on this forum is nothing compared to what I've read over there.

This is the truly staggering part to take in, and again, speaks to a truly bleed-edge technological breakthrough in their Reality Distortion endeavors, to speak nothing of their high quality Bitcoin ASIC mining products.

Despite all the community outrage and disillusionment here, even with the active censoring and post deletions, it's still worse of a shit-show there than these forums will ever be.

The sycophantry on their forums often approaches nauseating levels.

It's genuinely sad to see the BFL folk (Josh and Jody specifically) acting the way they do. Maybe they will learn better on their next project should their enterprise survive this present debacle.

EDIT: A gem.

Any mention what parts?  I did order some for myself ahead of time when i thought i was going to do the assembly elsewhere..

Avalon chips  Cheesy

Instant Rimshot!

As to why people are banned, if you want to post like a child or be a troll, then, well... go to Bitcointalk. They love trolls there. If you want to act like an adult, well then, you're welcome here."

It speaks to a lack of principles and shame to hate this place so much, yet spend so much advertising money here.

Amusing comment coming from someone evidently incapable of acting as a rational adult, if his posting history is any indication into his psyche.
3114  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: July 31, 2013, 05:01:08 PM
Was just notified that one of my posts was removed from this thread -- it consisted of "+1" as a comment to someone else's post, that didn't appear inflammatory or otherwise inappropriate. Has anyone else had a post yanked for some reason?

I believe it was stated elsewhere on the forums that moderators would be actively removing "+1" posts as they just serve to clutter up a thread.

3115  Other / Off-topic / Re: quit sending pizzas to me on: July 31, 2013, 05:08:54 AM
You guys are fucking freaks.
You're the freak willing to break your toes for enough BTC on camera, prostituting yourself over the internet and much worse.

Good Lord. I'm almost afraid to ask, and not about to go digging through post history...
3116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 31, 2013, 01:45:25 AM
I just had to troll the thread a la BFL to raise sales and guarantee more pre-orders!

I'm sorry. I seem to be missing something. Not sure what you are referring to.  Huh
3117  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: @Yifu/Bitsyncom please dont hold back the chip shipment because of b3 miners... on: July 31, 2013, 01:29:01 AM
I'm hopeful it will be resolved soon.

Hopefully. I don't think it's too much to ask to hold people to account to their own timelines. It is now beyond 10 weeks for many chip orders with the Avalon team being incommunicado.

Zefir's batch shipping seems anomalous given the volume of orders.
3118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 30, 2013, 10:42:38 PM
Also definitely go for an expensive, high-efficiency PSU. Not only will they be more reliable, and save money on heat, they'll generate much, much less heat as well.
Really, do you have a particular brand/series in mind. I was reading about certain platinum-efficiency rated PSUs lately, curious what you guys would put your eye on.

FWIW, I'm a huge proponent of the Corsair AX1200.
3119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 30, 2013, 10:22:58 PM
Ok, I have to admit I'm starting to become genuinely curious with KNC.

I've been quietly skeptical, mostly due to a lack of solid information coming out about the project, and am hugely suspicious of any 28nm ASIC right now due to costs involved, but I have to admit that seeing the Paypal payment option as enticing, mainly for their consumer protection mechanisms.

Shipping end of September huh ? Guess I'll place my order near end of August and cross my fingers.

Good luck gentlemen. Pulling for you folks. Will be quite the technical achievement should this project come to fruition.
3120  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement - ASIC mining processor by Butterfly Labs on: July 30, 2013, 09:37:09 PM
Ask him how his lawsuit turned out, Ytterbium.  Haha.

Wouldn't you like to know ?

Amusing turn of events with you posing this question. Thank you very much for this quote.

 *hugs and cuddles*

Ytterbium: More than doubled my BTC value in ASICMiner share investments so far, have invested in ASICMiner hardware that is hashing right now, as well as making a sizeable investment in community K16 projects, to answer your question. It would have been nice to be able to support Butterfly Labs as well.
