well, if you are taking preorders for mining HW, posing with the biggest asshole in bitcoin universe is not superclever idea.)

Why not, rivals often pose together, if only to give the trolls something to feed on.

Just a little bit of info regarding KnC
They contact ckolivas and myself at the end of May regarding cgminer and related information.

They then stated that within July they'd be sending (in July) mock up devices (with an internal RPi) for us to work with on cgminer, then in September the real (faster) devices to tune cgminer to.

I have, however, heard nothing since, but no doubt expect to hear something soon.

I'll keep everyone posted if anything happens Smiley

Knc said that within July they were sending to Kano and Ckolivas mock up devices to work on cgminer implementation.

So, now we have passed a concrete deadline we can all verify.

Kano, did you receive the mock up device?

because I think, that it will not raise trust from potential KNC customers which were already hardly fucked by BFL. maybe I'm wrong.)

does anyone have a confirmed shipment date?
EDIT: is refund possible with KnC?

Also I have my shipment date confirmed as: Status:Paid; Comment: This order has been scheduled for Shipping on day 2 of production.

means nothing, could also mean day 2 of production sometime in December.

You're right. I'm well aware of that. It's true that's not a date... However it's the best "confirmation" that's available AFAIK

BFL & KnC represent! Sam is a really nice guy!

интepьep cтpaшный

I don't speak Russian, but if this was recent; Sam was at the 'Inside Bitcoin' cryptocurrency conference in New York on Tuesday. He's an amicable guy despite how some randoms may wish to demonise him as an evil mastermind through baseless assumption on an internet forum. All correspondence and those that have met him seem to suggest otherwise.

I appreciate current progress and past history, questionable competence of BFL, negative propaganda and trial by internet forum jury, but perhaps Josh has redeeming character traits if you met him in person and didn't rub him up the wrong way. I'd certainly give him the benefit of the doubt to place his best foot forward in person before making my mind up irrespective of what has been alleged and written here.

You don't know the guy, neither do I. All you have is forum FUD and how it's being spun, although admittedly he appears to do himself or his customers no favours.

there is a video of josh being a complete fucking dick to a guy. And based on all of his posts over at BFL forum, I have to completely agree that this guy is a piece of shit.

I need to respectfully disagree with you on this. I might recommend you look into my history on these forums a bit if you are not familiar with my experience.

Which is why I said how it's been spun. That kid filming was acting like a prick anyway. And as I said Josh has done himself no favours. But I don't know the reasons, and I don't know the guy, however if you've paid by Paypal and have a decent Issuing Bank and paid with your credit card you can receive a refund, so I don't really understand what the beef is and why peeps stay imprisoned if they hate the company. They can get their money back and move on to something else after more careful consideration. The ones that paid in bitcoins are the ones i feel sorry for, but then the increase, or decrease in BTC price was always a risk. It could have gone down as well as up. They palced their bets, they took their chances. His life must be a torrent of abuse from unknowns, but face to face I'd make my own opinion. As much as I'd like to ask him what the hell's been happening, I imagine that's the question he dreads the most. I don't think he set out to rob people, I do believe he's pissed off with what's happened and lacks social skills.

Has anyone asked or know if the hosted KNC pool will be doing NMC merged mining?   These should produce a solid amount of namecoins.

KNC had a poll probing for interest on ALT-coin mining (can't remember if it was merged) months ago.

Speculating: no, I don't think the machines that will (hopefully) come out won't support anything else other than pure BTC mining.

Don't know, they plan to do a multi alt-currency machine with memory for scrypt etc. at some point in the future after these Bitcoin ASICs are in the wild, so I dare say their pool will grow to accommodate, not sure if it will be in the immediate future, but if they do go multi-currency then they will want to make their pool attractive.

sure it seems a good thing to do, but I believe that it's up to @FeedbackLoop to do it since he raised the quest in the first place. I just wanna said that namecoin is SHA-256 based, again quoting wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryptocurrency) :

Quote
SHA-256 proof-of-work. Namecoin is meant to act as a decentralized DNS, which would make internet censorship very difficult. Namecoin serves the .bit domain.
