Don't ask for a refund.

Contact Paypal:

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_contact-phone
https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_contact-general

Tell them you have paid for express shipping, the company refuses to honor it's invoice/statement. Then tell them this is being forced on all customers abroad with this company. Paypal will grab it's nutcracker and get this straightened out. They will likely tell BFL to honor their agreement as per their invoices.

If you are talking about being bent over, make sure someone else gets bent over instead, on legitimate grounds.

Paypal has a list of what "Express" means. BFL is unlikely to get away with "redefining what Express means" by itself. If it were "Expedited" then BFL would have a leg to stand on. But since they didn't use that word, they are hung by the balls for the bad wording in their invoice.

Go around the Rep. When people did it, things got moving. So simply do it again until you get justice. The power to do something is in you guys (the customers). You guys/gals simply choose to never exercise it.

However, that, of course, has no effect on what I do now. Different systems. Though, something I did learn back then (as the Project Leader ... and on most parts of it, the whole project team) was that the world is full of people who think they can program, who can even produce code. But hell, many of them are useless.
That is why every genius programer has a bugtracker. Because they were too lazy to write it correctly the first time.

Oh, wait, that would be a prodigy.... Grin

If you paid prior to February for shipping, you didn't pay for express shipping.  All shipping was called express shipping prior to that, which is what the USPS calls it.  Express shipping is now and upgrade from standard shipping, which is still USPS's Express Shipping.

Don't blame me because the USPS calls their regular shipping "express shipping."

Express is not exclusive to usps. It's a actual term. Obviously you guys know that, why else would you change it at the last minute? You could at least charge a reasonable price, these are price gouging rates. After delays, no customer support, missing specs and shipping orders out of position. You could at least do right by the customers this time... It's doesn't help offering a second shipping option anyway. It's just a last minute way to rake in more profits. And no one wants to go through usps anyway, they have the worst service of anyone.
Unfortunately, I have been looking and there only appears to be 1 express mail service for USPS.

I confused international service rates with domestic service rates.

!) Domestically, there is only 1 type of express service offered by USPS.
USPS Express Mail (Overnight): https://www.usps.com/ship/express-mail.htm

!) Internationally, there are 2 types of Express service offered by USPS.
USPS Express Mail International: 3 to 5 day service
USPS GXG: 1 to 3 day service (via FedEx)

https://www.usps.com/ship/express-mail-international.htm

No matter how I look at it. Inaba is simply not being accurate. Take a look.
3107  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Wafer Broke? on: May 04, 2013, 07:44:35 PM
Does one necessarily exclude the other?

Inaba has time, he simply does not use it effectively.

In the time it takes him to type up "cocksucker" he can pull up google. In the time it takes to call someone an asshole (such as above) in a shoutbox, he can google a charity. In the time it takes for him to login to BitCoinTalk, he can certainly donate 1000BTC to a charity. (Plus that other 1000BTC he lost in a bet....or that other bet he made against somoene...who was it? Micon was almost pulled in for a 240BTC bet wasn't it? What about the time he almost got someone to agree to a 500BTC bet? I forget the name.... Anyway, you get the pattern)

Oh wait, (grasps at straws),

Are you saying the old Standard Shipping = USPS Priority Mail? (3 to 5 days ~guaranteed~)

Are you saying that the old Express Shipping = USPS "Express"? (1 to 3 day guaranteed)

vs

The "New Express" = "USPS Overnight" (a different level of Express Shipping as it is guaranteed "next day")

Is this the correct interpretation? (serious question)

P.S. in the next few days, I am about to become a sizable customer. (Well....if things pan out)

OK, I take back everything.

I was duped. BFL is fucking customers again!

HOLY SHIT. Someone sound the alarm. They are bending us over and asking customers for EVEN MORE Money on express shipping they already paid for. This is what I get for listening to the hype.

START PANIC'ing

We are getting "double tapped" on shipping.
3110  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL Wafer Broke? on: May 04, 2013, 04:48:56 PM
I went to BFL (on BFL's dime) in February - as I wrote a blog about (after I was pumped full of enough Koolaid to make a horse talk) ... and anyone except those who're noobs or stupid (or aren't so blatantly paid-off) would already know.
Oddly enough I met everyone that was there at BFL that week and in Josh's case I even had lunch/dinner with him with his wife, twice (you all must bow down to me that I was sycophantically granted an audience with Herr Zerlan, twice !)... as I said in my short blog.

But anyway, I'd not expect those who enjoy making up crap to bother to correlate reality with the fiction that floats around in their disturbed minds ...
Fiction is probably way more fun than their shitty lives Smiley

The reality that BFL has not paid off their 1000 BTC wager for not meeting their power consumption goals, and Josh rage-silencing me on the BFL shout-box for pointing that out ("we're too fucking busy to pay off a 1000 BTC wager") ? The reality that they shipped on April 1st ? The reality that they had working prototypes set for FCC approval back in October / November ?

Sorry, which reality are you referring to ? The one inside your and Josh's deluded brains, or the one that the rest of us live in daily ?
You noobs!

Don't worry. I am going to share my super secret with BFL to keeping a company afloat "during hard times". We at ADL have accomplished 1 to 2 years non-delivery simply by using it. We can refund old "impatient" customers simply by "funding their refunds" from that of new customers money. If need be, we will even raise our prices to double that of our original products. Therefore we offset any refunds and still have strong earnings.

Cheesy

Hmm, that is actually a pretty simple solution.

Any idea, out there, if any company sells ducts or inserts to isolate the two fans modules from the PSU fan?

I was thinking we could try to increase the airflow over the three modules with the two black fans by using inserts or ducts...and leave the third (transparent) fan to ventilate the PSU via positive pressure.

Edit: Or one of these

And you know what the saddest part about all of that, is that in Josh's mind, he probably feels 100% unwaveringly justified in having that attitude due to a complete and utter lack of self-awareness and a firm mental rooting in his own virtual reality.

Who's to tell him otherwise?  He has a stable of suckers willing to sit there while he pisses in their face, and they come back and ask for more.

3114  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Hashrack.com - Hashpacks/RealtimeStats/Decntrlzd/PPLNS/ASIC Ready/API on: May 03, 2013, 09:36:56 PM
Better yet,

Allow customers to buy hashpacks at lower rates but charge us more fees per month.

Right now a 50Gh/s hashpack is about 20btc.

I'd be willing to pay 8% or 10% in fees a month if the hashpack is re-rated at 10 or 14BTC. It might be an idea worth considering.

Seriously considering this. do not be surprised if you're the first to know if it is implemented.
I would not be surprised if you did, it would make you quite alot more than the pool itself would. If you manage your finances correctly, there wouldn't be any issues.

Make sure to contact BFL (Or Avalon) and see if they are willing to offer you any discounts for consistently large purchase orders. I believe Avalon will, I do not know if BFL will.

----------------------

You need to work on the issue of redeemable hardware. If you can assure this, (the customer pays for any shipping costs) then you are set. People will eventually copy your pool when they realize your system may work.

The reason behind the idea of "redeemable" hardware is that you can assure customers it is there whenever they "need it". As you grow in reputation and confidence your customers will eventually (likely) decide it is far better to keep their hardware hosted with you than in their own homes. Eventually, they will not be able to host it in their own homes. I know I can't host more than 3..maybe 4 at most.

If someone wants to pull their hardware from the HashrackŪ they could contact you in email, pay off the discounted difference or any fees pending on the hardware for the month...and then pay for the shipping charges to get it delivered. It is important that you get some kind of (non-permanent) labeling system. Like magnetic labels, #001 or whatever, so you know which one is the customers.

After people have confidence you are here to stay for the long haul; they will probably just keep it perpetually at the colocation facility you are doing business with...through you. You should also limit how many "redeemable shipments" you are willing (or can do) per week without straining you or your staff. If it is 50 slots per week, it is 50, no more no less.

Anyway, you have a very good idea going for you. I hope it takes off and it keeps you profitable. I frankly do not see how it couldn't.

This is an upside. Some people will not pay the additional fee, and all that hashing power will be delayed coming onto the network.  ;-)
I like the way you think.

Do you really think that? I picture most miners like cutthroat pirates. Slit your moms throat to get more hashrate. They are not likely to quit the queue unless there's a viable alternative.

Waiting?  You act like its waiting in a line...  It should have physically taken you no longer than 20mins to place your order and cancel it.

Geez, talk about first world problems....
There is currently a waiting time of 2 weeks for email responses and therefore....for refunds.
3118  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL buyers - Damned if you do, Damned if you don't? on: May 03, 2013, 09:14:36 PM
I've been thinking about this conundrum for a while now... here's my thoughts.

For those of you who have been patiently waiting for BFL to actually start shipping in anything that would resemble 'decent' numbers I feel bad for you. Because you are stuck in a pretty tight situation.

1. If you wait for your unit, it could still be a while -- and once you get it, the network difficulty is going to shoot up something fierce. So, you may be thinking... I want to unload my unit before that happens.

2. If you unload our unit before you get it, its still a pre-order and as such is going to get a pre-order price and everyone is skeptical about BFL right now... thus the price isn't going to be high.

3. If you wait until you receive the unit, the market will be flooded with units in hand that others are selling which will hammer down the price. If you decide not to sell it, your in situation #1 -- the difficulty making 5 GH/S or 60 GH/S not mine like what was expected.

Tough spot man Sad
Here is what you do,

You have a  BFL pre-order. Hopefully for a Jally or Single or something. Check? Good.

1) Sell it on Ebay, for 60k, the prices over there are crazy for Mining devices.

With that money, if it's not held by Paypal. You are responsible and on the hook for delivery instead of BFL. Great.

2) When they fail to deliver your order, simply panic and refund 60K as well as have your Paypal card revoked. Sucks right?

3) Sell a non-existent pre-order on "a wing and a prayer" and get your customer to pay you in BTC. That way you can join in on the "scam" of (yet to be built) Pre-Orders.

You will be like a BFL Mini-me.

Sounds great right?

---------------------------

Alot of people in the near future are going to lose either:

A) Their Paypal Privileges and cards/Accounts.

B) Their shirts and shoes when they spend that money initially and have to then give it back because they couldn't take delivery.

C) Turn into BTC black holes as people demand their money back when the deliveries aren't shipped on time.

D) Immigrate to Jamaica or Cuba.

Don't post lies, BS or be a dick and you get helpful answers.  Pretty simple cause and effect.

... but, you post lies, bullshit, and are arguably one of the biggest dicks on these forums, so, it's quite the viscous circle you have created, huh ?

Just thought I would take the liberty of showing you a mirror.
Your post brought sausages to mind. Sausages in a circle. It's time to break the sausage cycle!
