Man, you guys with Ecuador, and then slam with Qatar in his defence HAHAHA (sorry man). I know you have to be weird to win Fantasy but you went too weird, my friend Wink

Pickford my sub and I wanted to test that if it worked and it does, as he's automatically gone in now and shows 0 points (live). Kane is my 12th man boost, also showing 0 points so it seems like the live is working for FIFA.

Sterling started also, so I got that part right in my Quiz (but I can't imagine anyone else not picking him to do so)... just need Southgate to sub him off and get Trent on late when they're still nil-nil like this as I expect will happen when 2nd half resumes. 25 minutes and not one attempt on target, typical England.

Useless trivia: They're playing at the same stadium I was at in 2019 =D
3102  Economy / Speculation / Re: What Will Be bottom Of BTC in 2022 Year ( Current Price= $16000 ) on: November 21, 2022, 11:44:56 AM
My order from 9th November would get filled @$12000.

Interesting, I'm seeing quite a lot of 12k estimates for bottom buying. Personally, don't think it's possible without another major item of negative news, but also feel that if we do see 12k from current estimates, then it might just trigger further downsides given just how jittery the entire market even outside of crypto is -- the bounce from there should be just as spectacular though?
3103  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Crypto survive? on: November 21, 2022, 10:45:46 AM
It seems different now because "crypto" has never been farther from Bitcoin at this stage. Sure, we had the 2017 ICO era with thousands of shitcoins spewing out of Ethereum but you now have scores of Ethereum lookalikes, spewing out dozens more of crypto we'll never see or hear about. Exchanges creating money out of thin air, newcomers to crypto never actually knowing how to use crypto, wallets, much less own a single satoshi.

Bitcoin doesn't just survive these things, it thrives. Price reflects that only later on.
3104  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When will Sam Bankman-Fried go to jail? on: November 20, 2022, 08:43:48 PM
It will be a miracle if he does any jail time, let alone spending many years in prison. After all, he didn't sponsor both Democrats and Republicans for no reason.

Even if he does end up serving some kind of jail time, it will be with the maximum comfort, maximum freedom to do things remotely, that money and influence has already bought and paid for. He might even prefer the security it'll afford him from vengeful creditors...

so regulators have to work out. did scam bankman fraud legally get given coin (as pseudo-donation) to SBF's retirement home.. or did SBF steal users funds.

Probably quite fair summary of what needs to be legally determined, but there is also the non-philosophical question of whether he carried out all activities with his company's money above board. As CEO, did he actually have full power to use budgets and finances as he did, or were the entire board complicit, etc.

He may (will) get away with what he did with customers, or end up paying a trifle for their suffering. It's the big suits and whether he also lost their money is what will be his worry (as pointed out above what Holmes also found out).
3105  Economy / Speculation / Re: Hacker of FTX dumping ETH for BTC on: November 20, 2022, 07:05:10 PM
From what I understand. 1/3 of the assets were stolen the rest went to the government.

This is pretty accurate considering the government would dump low illiquid tokens with huge slippage and why would DAI be bought instead of just leaving the assets as is.

There is 200MM left to be dumped so be on alert because if it’s dumped during a weekend we will go below $1000 ETH for sure.

Probably explains why ETH looked a bit sickly today despite Bitcoin more or less trading in the same range. Think people are already hedging on this outcome, regardless of who really is behind that bag.

Definitely nice to think a state makes these calculations but the choice to not just sit on it suggests someone knowing what they are doing (or calculating a gamble).
3106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽⚽⚽ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk World Cup 2022 - discussion ⚽⚽⚽ on: November 20, 2022, 06:03:11 PM
Right, so just a handful of us went for a host win, what were we thinking about, haha. Valencia should have had a hattrick too. Not the entertainment of Russia's opening game, but many of you guys happy with the win, well done Ecuador!

Anyway, just sharing a silly bet here for Gav (from Clubtalk TV) to visit Qatar during the World Cup. Think it's live for the next 24 hours in the Sports Special tab (time shows 10pm 21 Nov my time which is in 27 hours).

We can all bet the kitchen sink on it, pool some money to kidnap and send him there anyway and profit Wink

It's gonna be so much fun Grin Lets goo World Cup

I had to put up with my kid wanting to watch the performance because of a certain pretty boy performing, thought it was slightly underwhelming if I say so myself? Think Shakira pulled out and I could barely hear Morgan Freeman but yeah, finally can get going to the business end of things on the pitch.

Casper the friendly mascot haha

HT on Qatar... why they played 2nd choice keeper, never know, he's a bag of nerves...

Anyway, casino boost active. And that's 5 minutes of my halftime rewarded haha

3108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: November 20, 2022, 04:32:45 PM
^ Yeah I'm not even competing for that one, it's just something I know I'm not capable of without actually really committing time -- which is the one thing I have less and less of.

It does say about that 10000 points to get a guaranteed prize (the VIP status) but the wording feels vague (and also doesn't account for what if the top leaderboard doesn't have all of them reach this minimum) but all of these are moot points for me.

Would be really cool to see you both there in the prize spots at the very least, and there are intangible status awards anyway Wink
3109  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Binance is spamming mempool on: November 20, 2022, 03:21:47 PM
Had no idea Binance was responsible for fee spike the last couple of days (though I've been getting by still with very low fees and waiting and it is a far cry from 100 sat estimates of years past).

Not sure I understand why that causes panic and fear? Won't people be happier if Binance does batch txs for withdrawals from larger inputs? More txs in a batch, less space taken up when the Binance bank run happens if it does?

Don't know enough or can look at data far back enough to say this is deliberate or just periodic or intermittent. Still feel like it's posts like that that do more to spread FUD (since people wouldn't otherwise be aware anyway), which is a shame as they're really quite informative.

As pointed out above, exchanges don't really care about fee overestimation either since the cost is passed on to the consumer (not to mention majority of fees for the past 3 years at least are pure profit).

No Hammie groupies?
every series has an end, and Hamilton series is nearing the end tomorrow

Then I'm rooting for you, besides, impossible for me to get 4th spot, I'll just pray for bad luck to everyone in between you and me, for something to happen.

Every season has an end and a guy who makes the biggest leap. Let that be me today heh heh.

The expected end has come. Vettel will be on the track for the last time (for now). As a great driver, a great athlete and a great person, he will forever remain one of the legends of f1 history. He will probably remain as the most beloved F1 driver in history.

Somehow it doesn't feel like the end of an era for me, so much as a farewell to the type of personality that I feel we see less and less in this particular sport... nice that all drivers have dinner together to see him off (isn't that just typical?) but only because I'm a casual follower?

Doesn't look like Hamilton can win here unless something bad happens to the guys in front of him.

Or the guys in front get greedy and make ill-timed gambles. It's the final race. Time for all kinds of reckless behaviours and using up damage budget quotas Wink

3111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Promotion and Adoption in my locality on: November 20, 2022, 11:41:03 AM
Nice one, OP! As hugeblack wrote, though, motivation is what really ensures that the people you're targeting (in this case, his potential or existing customers) are converted to try using BTC at least once.

How do you convince them? When they understand why you do it -- some reasons or motivations given (opportunity to send money to places inaccessible by traditional payments, inflation hedge etc.).

But even more powerful for me is to demonstrate the positive change (before and after).

Example (from perspective of the shop owner): before, I couldn't accept Mister A as customer because he could not leave his farm. Now, I send him a payment request for BTC and I now have a new customer.
3112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽⚽⚽ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk World Cup 2022 - discussion ⚽⚽⚽ on: November 20, 2022, 10:34:42 AM
So, I just realised this morning seeing ads on my tv (wanted to see which channels broadcasting) that new bookies in my place of residence are having their first big sports event (they were all created last year, 7 new online companies) and they all have really interesting promos for new customers. Fiat, so only like max bet 1 euro but big payouts like 50/1 on first bet, nothing compared to Sportsbet.

Don't forget an hour before kickoff there's a 3-hour window to get a 10% boost on all Bombay Live casino games (5 minutes only) on Sportsbet for those of you wanting to gamble while watching the opening ceremony! And a new bonus every day too, opt-in here: https://sportsbet.io/promotions/2022-world-championship-casino-offer

buwaytress also threaded the line a bit, with sending his outright bet as qualification bet but since his choice was such that it was basically a donation to Sportsbet I have let it slide  Grin Not gonna name his choice, but let's just point out he got the odds close to 300.

Joking aside this rule is here so that all participants have to use Sportsbet page and I know for a fact that buwaytress has at least a couple of qualifying tickets at any moment.

Thanks for confirming I entered the quiz, still not sure why I got the "warning" message about confirming as I don't recall seeing that before submitting on the test form.

And about the qualifying bet, sorry man, haha. Promise I'll send very simple bets from now on so you guys have fewer headaches. Right now have 14 active bets on World Cup just on Sportsbet... earliest bet was made 4 months ago. I thought I was being conservative and didn't keep track and then now I realise what an addict I look like... =(

All done, not gonna tinker!
You really think Trent is gonna play? Southgate only called him cause James got injured, he doesn't like him at all for defense and usually plays with two defensive midfielders as well. Would really like him to take a bit of risk and to try and attack weaker opponents but don't think we will se that. It will again be 5 defenders, 2 def midfielders and hoping Kane score a goal so they can win 1:0.

No, I don't actually heh. I put the Fantasy in World Cup fantasy =p

None of the predicted lineups I've seen even has him, Trippier's for sure ahead of him but my genius shadow brain says, if he does play, Southgate's gonna slot him in when it's still 0-0 to gamble in 2nd half and, maybe he gets a freekick goal and an assist.

In other words, I'm taking a big risk for MD1 (Kane's not even in my team, but my 12th man boost in case he makes a hattrick haha), and relying on some subs to make up for it if I don't get it right.

Yeah kane is supposed to get points against Iran but TAA is one person i doubt will start. I feel Southgate trust Trippier more and he his also on setpiece duties. I think both him and Shaw will be Southgate starting fullbacks but we will have to wait to see his team

Eh Trofo I didn't see the list of other participants like the FPL own can you please confirm if I have already join the league, ZAGURU12 is the nick.

Yeah I know Wink I'm gambling here, hoping to be the supreme leader when TAA scores and assists (dream on, right?).

I'm afraid I might have to pass the Around the World Cup promo. It's not that I don't have the money, it's literally a problem of time management for me... I'm probably already over-extending myself (and it really doesn't help this damned tournament is happening at the most busy period in the year!).

GL to those participating though!

@buwaytress I too don’t use Twitter so I’ll be passing on this promo, but for those that use Twitter I feel that it’s a really nice promo and I’m definitely hoping some forum member wins it.

I have a Twitter account. This and other promos like this is precisely why I "use" it heh.
3115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Too many chickens own BTC. Don't be a chicken, HODL! BE A LION. on: November 19, 2022, 08:54:45 PM
Probably a matter of unfortunate timing for the cycle to come down just as the global economy's also buckling, but enjoy the drama, as you put it. When BTC is stable above 100k you might see yourself looking back with envy.

I'm helping, sometimes people need to wake up and see the truth.

Everyone was a chicken in life, including me, now it's time to change your mentality.

I was a chicken too (not everything relates to BTC) but now I'm a lion and I'm planning to remain a lion.

HODL! Be a LION.

This doesn't mean you should never sell! BTC is made for spending after all. Just sell when you gain not when you are losing.

I doubt it's possible for people to "wake up" in general. Even for me to change my mind about something I'm pretty set on, not possible except in the wildest of circumstances. Sort of why I don't think awareness is useful (everyone protests and says it's for awareness but I think it's apathy really that's the problem).

In any case, good luck with being a lion. And yeah, spend, when you can. Bitcoin's true value is helped on by all of us continuing to use it.
3116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏁🏎️ Sportsbet.io🏁 FORMULA 1 2022 Season🏁🏎️Prediction Pool Discussion Thread on: November 19, 2022, 07:30:18 PM
Ah damn Verstappen. Put Perez for pole in the prediction contest (not pool) and he actually came pretty close, but shouldn't have gambled like that on last day of season. Still, if Sainz finds a way to blaze through in the race I might gain an edge over there. Provided Verstappen wins, of course as he was always going to be my winner.

No Hammie groupies?
3117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ World Cup Fantasy ⚽ 5k in rewards ⚽ Discussion thread on: November 19, 2022, 06:58:16 PM
Tried using booster then confirming, then resetting, booster came back. I guess this is okay to do as long as MD1 hasn't started yet.

I didn't want to be too fancy and try to be too smart, so I made sure I got points from Kane (vs Iran should be pretty good right?) and I even put Trent in, bonus because he's a def but he'll probably be played in midfield Wink

I went for 4-3-3 wanted to even go 3 defenders but then budget doesn't allow for a good squad anyway.

All done, not gonna tinker!
3118  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀-Sportsbet.io-🚀 - Main sponsor of Southampton FC 👋👋 on: November 19, 2022, 05:49:53 PM
Hi Guys,

All the love has come for Brazil (4.40) and Argentina (6.50) .. but can we really rule out FRANCE? @8s

I know they are missing a couple of players, but the talent pool there must be massive...  Huh Huh

Does this guy know something we don't?   Shocked Shocked

They're really good, I agree, but they've been getting their aging forwards to carry the battle for far too long, and midfield now is nowhere as good as their missing stars. Finalists maybe, but more Christmas party donations? =D

And Ghana did their job against a pretty damned good Swiss side too Wink Agree a brave punt should be on an African side, and I put down a bit on Senegal actually at 138/1
And Ghana is worst rated African side in this competition while Sengal is highest rated. Not that it means much when the show starts. That being said I don't feel like Senegal can recover from loosing Mane. Especially now when he is going on surgery and won't even be with the team. Sarr is good player but nowhere near good enough to step into Mane boots.

Yeah, and if you watched them (and even Egypt who's not playing) in Afcon, the quality of matches overall was so poor, you can't seem them really compete against World Cup teams. Then again, it's a entirely different style of play, different expectations and game management (the most important aspect in Qatar IMO), it's not easy to really imagine how teams will play until the first few rounds get underway.

African teams always made some big surprises in first round of previous World Cups, so it's possible this could happen again.
I don't expect Ghana to win the trophy but they could mess things up for Portugal and Uruguay, I just don't know how everyone will adjust to Qatar climate and time zone changes.
What do guys think, about one national team that will be biggest surprise in this world cup?

During AFC, I took home a lot of money on Qatar. They were an unknown team, practising behind closed doors, and with a cool Spanish coach that actually for a "young" team has won quite a lot since he took charge. I don't think they're that dangerous any more as an unknown, but they have the most stable unit - a coach that practically built this current team for 10 years, who already have a bit of experience winning in Asia and Concacaf, and could definitely pull off the first upset tomorrow against Ecuador, but they are still very poor at game management -- something the South Americans and Europeans are masters of.

After what happened with Ronaldo, which came out of the blue for me, I suspect it could also cause Portugal to stumble. Amazing talents but until they purge Ronaldo they can't play to the formation that truly takes on the strength of their team -- so yeah, they could get pipped by Ghana, sho knows.

I definitely don't think everyone adjusts to Qatar humidity. I know for a fact it's a very different environment to play in that kind of heat plus humidity, you need months to acclimatise.

So I'm not 100% sure about upset teams, but I think a couple of giants could miss out on KO and give their places to 3rd seeds like Japan, South Korea, Ghana, even 4th seed like Qatar. Germany, Portugal, Croatia are my favourites for missing out but I picked them all to progress anyway!
3119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽⚽⚽ Sportsbet's Bitcointalk World Cup 2022 - discussion ⚽⚽⚽ on: November 19, 2022, 04:38:07 PM
@slaman29: Sorry man, KTChampion is right. You can make multibets, but one leg at least has to be 1.5 odds minimum. Betbuilder's probably the only way to mix up a lot of "low odds" outcomes to achieve 15/10 minimum. I used an outright bet, but I'll probably be placing lots of bets throughout I'll have so many bets to pick from Wink

Anyway, thanks for the quiz, Cro2! I had I think 3 tags on this thread/related so I definitely saw it haha.

Good to see it's fairly non-technical, don't think anyone will have a problem participating, at the same time I liked the style of choosing a star that may or may not play, that's literally a coin toss to me, whether he gets to feature, and for how long!

Anyway, my early answers locked in. Put in a qualifying bet on the Lions of Teranga!

P.S. I had an message pop up saying I can only submit once, and asked me if I'm sure to submit, so... if I submitted twice, that was a mistake (probably same answer though I doubt I put in a different form?).

The French team is nothing without Kante and Pogba; the team has been struggling without these two players for some time now, and they are unlikely to advance beyond the group stage. You should keep an eye on Denmark because I believe they will make it at least to the semi-finals.

Hey, they can always rely on some old guy like Giroud or Benzema, like they have been for a long time.

Denmark, eh? I don't think they're bad at all, just not good enough to break down one of the S Americans.

You are the minimum point mark anyways, making sure you are always behind my username   Grin. This is the only way I don't get bored.

I'll do my best to make it hard for you!
3120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Football Discussion Thread || Current discussion: African teams at Qatar. on: November 19, 2022, 03:36:14 PM
I'm team Senegal, by the way, and no, it's not simply because of Mane. Also rooted for them in SKorea/Japan World Cup. Have to say they don't play as attractive football these days (I watched Afcon) compared to then, but World Cup is a different affair yeah?

Lets forget the fact that Sadio mane has won over the heart of all Africans, I mean the guys has basically done so much that our politicians can't never do in their lifetime due to their corruptness. Without the fact that we all love Mane and want to see him succeed, Senegal is Africans best best at Qatar, with Senegal we're guarantee that the Africa flag will be flying high at Qatar so definitely we all are solidly behind them to bring home the trophy.

And non-Africans too. He's a bloody genuine good guy, makes waves back in Liverpool, trying to be Scouser and all. Just the kind of guy I like, everyone likes, and no one can hate. I'm gutted he's not playing but still, team Senegal!

World Cup is stronger and tougher than AFCON, so you can't compare the two, though you are  comparing payers skills, and since they are going to play with another country, African players have to increase their tactics in the world cup.

I agree Senegal will have to play different tactics. Afcon was a careful tournament, everyone was playing mind games and conserving energy. World Cup's probably going to reward those who take more risks and some teams might feel they have a physical advantage. Better make the most of it.
