3121  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 08, 2014, 08:56:44 AM
First batch was March+July then there was an April+July (I think both at 15K, at least April+July)
I am not sure if there were farmer choice left when the 10% discount started if so it was only for the latest unit of the batch.

July batch has been told to be a small batch probably around 50-100 and with the info provided by SP it will ship the last week of July.
August batch should come after that problably shipping by the 2nd week of August and due to the numbers I presume that it will be continously shipping until the last week of august depending on your position on the queue (april+august, may+august, farmer's choice, singles and group buy all mixed).

1x Better Together SP10 + SP30 April + August for $13,930.00 (Free Shipping)

~Blaise

OR you could pick up 7-TH worth of S3's for half the price....

I think the attraction for me could be a good deal on hosting together with SP-30 at a discount.
I am surprised that this is not being raised. The original GB had a hosting option. No facility in WA wants to host hundreds of Sp-30 all in one deal?
I believe that this is what needs to be arranged, but price has to be based on WA electrical rates, NOT on expensive electrical rates.

?!

So those who pay 16 Cents per KWH are severely disadvantaged?

Do you work for the company?

I am not sure re disadvantaged. If someone has higher electrical rate, they have to compete on something else.
I speak only for myself.

Well, as long as hosting price for SP-30 is at or below $190/mo with 208V/220V/240V available (if Sp-30 is 2.5kw) with 6mo (not 12!) minimal requirement, I think that many people would support this by choosing SP-30+hosting package. I am surprised that nobody arranged this kind of a deal yet. $290/mo in the original GB is an overpay for hosting considering the electricity cost of 2-3c/kwh in that area and SOMEONE in WA should take the initiative to make a better deal that would be beneficial for everybody.

Smart data centers will take advantage like everything else in this industry and over price their hosting options because they are aware most people at least in the US can't plug one of these SP30's in your home without high consideration on electrical resources and heat. I've asked several data centers how much they would charge to co-locate an SP30 and all three places quoted me over $350/month. Seeing that is highway robbery, I can only see people with the means that have free electric and cooling getting these SP30's. I remember running my SP10 in my office when it was 60 degrees out and the next morning the office temperature was 104 degrees. I couldn't even imagine if I addded an SP30 into the mix.

Power is not nearly the only cost, infact only accounts for about 60% of the cost of most colocation. You need cooling, building (rent / mortgage + maintenance insurance etc etc), staff and all the rest that goes into opperating a 24/7 active facility. Adds up very very quick when people only look at pure power costs.

Fair enough and your calculations are nearly exact for an SP-30 at 16 cents per KWH...

@bitmadrid
Thanks for organizing this GB!
I would be in for 1 if negotiated price is <4000usd, for 2 if it is around 3500+usd/sp30. Thou I do not believe we will get to those prices, because SPTech knows well they have not got much competition right now and have good quality, well manufactured miners and are so far the only company possibly delivering 6th in Aug/Sep in one neat box...

Anyway, thanks for hard negotiations with SPTech and let me wish you good luck!

IMO this Forum's Group Buy was the core that led to their success.
We should be given a fantastic break just like last time.

IF so we will purchase multiple units.

right now all these prices are way too high...

How have you gotten so many payments on your node you lucky bastard!!!

I'm sure due to all your good work for the community Evan has hardcoded: If MN = GhostPlayer then Priority = +1...

I know I know, you can't identify MN's like that, just saying...

You lucky bastard!  Grin

Could someone tell me where to get info on how to setup a masternode?

BTW without pumpers and dumpers did coin would have 3 btc volume , just look the last 30min dead TRADING on VRC on mintpal, now how can the coin ""make"" or "break" DRK without pumpers??? simply it cant . so everyone has too get use to it IE, FONTAS and others are part of the eco-system for good.

Typical pumpers/dumpers not a problem.

bankster manipulation could be a problem...

PoW must to be an alternative because people don't STAKE nothing. But last mined PoW block had a big HR and was leave with a very big diff.

Now I ask, it's not much more simple to stake coin in the wallet ? why we still here to try to mine a not simple block in PoW, lost money to rent rigs, etc etc ?

For what leave the coins on the bittrex wallet ? for dump it ? I had work hard for give to people to dump his coin with much more profit ? it's all ?

Ok 2nd Dev gone. Good Luck

You know what? I was seriously considering putting a lot of money into this coin because I liked you, would have probably raised the price by quite a bit considering the tiny volume. After reading this I am not going anywhere near this coin for now. You should not be the main dev if you don't know what to say and when to say it. If you don't know how to speak properly then hire someone else to do it. "Ok 2nd Dev gone. Good Luck", terrible. You should really delete that. Okay so here are some of my problems with this coin,

Right after you took over and became the dev, I said that this coin had no community and without one it isn't going anywhere. Did you really think that magically a massive crowd of people would suddenly come along and support the coin? Of course that wouldn't happen, this coin has no hype. It has already been hyped and it crashed hard before you became dev. Maybe if you tried to hype the coin we would be somewhere.

Working quickly is great but setting dates like the old scammer dev will give more hype. Also I haven't seen any interesting features in this coin so far. Like I said when you first became dev, all these features you've put into this coin do not separate this coin from all the other coins enough. This coin is not special as it is now. It is also hardly promoted at all anymore, when the old dev was around people on Twitter with many followers were actually promoting this coin and telling people to buy. That ain't happening now. This coin has little to no hype at all. And guess what? people buy on hype. It is important.

Maybe if you want people to stake their coins, do a giveaway so there are more people to support the network? You said yourself you invested a lot into this coin, then how about you use a bit of your investment to protect your investment?

/rant

Saving a dying coin is no easy job dev, especially with the ridiculous amount of altcoins in the market. Give me one good reason to support this coin other than pity, and I'll do it. But I think for now I'm just going to sit and watch from a distance.

IMO- A "Build it and they will come" approach just may work very well...

Could do, but what has been built so far has been built many times before and is being built elsewhere too. I think that is what is preventing people from coming here.

I would not be so sure about that...
3130  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: July 02, 2014, 10:31:03 AM
I'm going to mention this here because the VRC team are friggon Genuineness!

Somebody is creating BOTS trying to drive CC's Prices Down...
Find the BOT and you may find out something that needs finding out about BOTS
being directed at CC's...

This is not in relation to VRC.
It's mentioned here because I just noticed and it should be looked into by those who have the skills...

Just take a look at the BOTS on PPC and NMC...

It might make sense to create a DDOS program aimed at the BOTS or something along those lines...
3131  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: July 02, 2014, 10:07:06 AM
I am guessing you guys are aware and this has been posted already somewhere but I haven't seen it.

From a total n00b but VRC holder from quite a while ago, isn't it interesting that VRC is the coin with the highest trade volume (24h) in MintPal @1,700 BTC? I mean, WAY more than any other coin, the one that holds the second place is DRK with less than half the volume @ 692 BTC... Damn, LiteCoin is down to 49BTCs only..

Source: MintPal front page

So it's me being just du-dumb or what? I haven't seen this in the thread and considering how much FUD/HYPE guerrilla is happening in the ANNs its just very strange that I haven't seen this mentioned before.

Sorry if the topic has been beat to death before, just haven't seen it. Anti-dumb brigade pleez enlight me.

Eth.

Times have changed.
LTC,PPC,NMC and the like are ...correction... have been in a long protracted steady decline.
BTC-e will even have to make some changes...

VRC/DRK/anon coins are where the utility/demand is and for very good reason and believe it or not
the BTC community is still just finding out.

Though DRK has some competition RE VRC..(only a fraction warranted) They are clear leaders.

Innovation ='s buggy operation for all these anon coins.
Just par for the course.

However all this hard work WILL definitively pay off with a solution to the problem at hand.

It makes sense to mention:
Many in the BTC community are not tech savvy and putting up simple tutorials for POS POW etc.
will go a loooong way to gain solid support for the anon coins.
It will give new investors incentive to stick around as they learn
what most would call "simply not worth the effort kid stuff"...

Well,.. I guarantee you there's a ton of money waiting on the sidelines for such simple needed instruction
just as they needed to learn what the heck Bitcoin Was!

The Drk volume is tiny in comparison to the Ltc volume. I think the Ltc market is going into liquidation. I'm just wondering who is providing all the cheap Drks? Any ideas?

QUESTION for the longs:

Do you see VRC getting into the 3-5.00 range and why?

Warrenty + Utility = VALUE.

Warrenty = Devs transparency and hard work meeting deadlines. Keep it lasting and alive so I can keep using it.

Utility = all the features such as veribit, verisend all incorporated in a cetralized place such as the wallet.

This coin will beat litecoin IMO.

and yes I am ITIL certified.

WHY I ASK:

It seems "to me" very evident VRC's tech bundle is far superior
and therefore way undervalued.
Sure DRK was first, is "catchy" in name and always will be the one that broke through...
BUT I'm wondering why I ave not heard of it on all the Bitcoin Promoters on YouTube.

DOGE had a great marketing campaign which got the word out.
Maybe more than was warranted...

Let's face it.
LTC, PPC, NMC are dying as well as volume on BTC-e.

The market is speaking and anon is listening.
I do hope VRC continues it's innovative pace and continually updates it's anon features.
IF they do there's no reason it cannot gain it's rightful market cap position.

This is my analysis but want to see what else people think...
3135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VRC] | VeriCoin | PoS - Dynamic Interest | SMS | ANON on: July 02, 2014, 01:10:42 AM
im not really looking to hold vrc for too long, i bought back in at 22k, we will steady growth here, other coins offer much better returns. my first buy was under 1000sats for vrc, im looking to use vrc rather than invest in it

It's not the return it's the tech.
IMO- The ability to use BTC "As a Service" to make purchases rather than a "Trade" is unique and may change the rules...
There are not many coins you can actually use as you say...
Makes perfect sense as a contender due to it's precedent.

Yes it could be.  But what happens when people don't realize the profit they thought they would get from running a masternode?  They have close to $10,000 tied up that could be put to use elsewhere with potentially much higher returns.  If the number of masternodes starts to decrease will that be an indicator of long term uncertainty?
Honestly, I'm a bit surprised there are still 500 or so Masternodes online. 1 DRK per day is nothing -- NOTHING -- for having 1000 DRK tied up. And if you're paying for server fees and such, it's even worse. I don't know who would run a MN that costs probably $10-$20 per day in fees just to earn $10 per day in DRK. Some of them are likely IT professionals using company servers for their own gains; I can't think of any other way to make it truly worthwhile.
10-20 usd for a server?Huh You want the gold plated one, don't you? ;-))
1) I host my own box on an unmetered 10MBPs NIC for under $70/mo with over 50 VMs on it.
2) I also know of a VM host that sells an OpenVZ machine for $6/mo. They also accept BTC as payment. Not bad.

As a footnote to #2; I've actually been able to CPU MINE enough DRK on that $6 node to make it pay for itself. Compare that to your Amazon EC2 crapola...

There seems to be an astoniching amount of ;azy assholes that want to elevate simple common sense to the level of "OMG you haz to be expertz!!!1!!!!!!!11!!!!!eleventyone!!!!!" Being a fucking lazy asshole doesn't justify the argument. It really takes very little effort and brain power to set up a Master Node now. If you can't manage to pull that off, you're too fucking stupid and lazy to live. There is abso-fucking-lutely no fucking excuse for fucking it. Fucking. Fuck. Fffuuuuuuuuu.....
Seems to me you are the Lazy One.

You're entitled to me and mine?

Fuck you, cockdrip. You've got access to all the same information and resources that I've got. I'm not here to make life better for you. YOU are here for that, so stop being a lazy, entitled fuckwit and make it happen. It's not my job to do it all for you.

Go back to your McJob before your power is shut off. Oh, wait, I paid all your bills with taxes and welfare, you don't even have a McJob...

I'm going to warn you only once.
