3121  Economy / Economics / Re: Importing historic marketcap data into excel on: July 13, 2017, 07:15:23 PM
I don't know if it's possible on Coinmarketcap, but I've found another website which allows you to get a csv file for the historic marketcap data.
Here you go:

https://data.bitcoinity.org/markets/market_cap/30d/USD?t=l

That is a nice one for Bitcoin, thnx for sharing Smiley
Bitcoin is only one part of what I want to analyze, I am looking for data on the whole cryptocurrency market, so including as much altcoins as possible.
Yeah, I can't find any similar ones for altcoins, I just found this one by searching on Google for: 'bitcoin marketcap csv'

I also looked on Coinmarketcap, but they really don't seem to provide csv files Sad

You can get other altcoin data here though:
http://alt19.com/
 * At the bottom of the page, you can download a csv file.

But it looks like you get all data in one CSV file, maybe it's still useful.
3122  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Crypto-Games.net ★ 9 coins ★ 7 games ★ Since 2014 ★ New - Litecoin lottery! on: July 13, 2017, 01:50:38 PM
I've checked the FAQ and found nothing.
You can see your TAG beside your name on chatbox.
Go through the FAQ again and this time more carefully. You will find it. They explained what all those tag stands for.  Wink

Okay, it took me a while to find it, because the title of the FAQ section wasn't too clear:
Quote
SMG, VRN, etc., what are those?

Thanks for the info!

3124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What games are best suitable for PvP gambling? on: July 13, 2017, 01:34:42 PM
I believe playing cards games are most suitable for player vs player environments. Solitaire is not being played in real life (at least by my friends) but they are most famous computer games. This way many cards games could be derived/modified to suit player vs player environments.

I believe some improvements should be added into any type of games when it will be implemented for online users. This way I guess any game could be modified to suit for player vs player environments.
Yeah, cardgames are definitely the easiest way to design a decent pvp game. Too bad that the only game casino's offer is poker or some variant of poker.
I'd be interested in seeing some pvp betting opportunities with other card games, bridge for example, that one also has many different variations.
3125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DASH coin? on: July 13, 2017, 01:29:12 PM
What do you think about DASH coin? Is it worth it to invest ? ? ? Thank You !

It is one of the very good coins in terms of technological innovation, but it has a dirty insta-mine history. If you don't care about that insta-mine stuff, you should go ahead and invest a small portion of your BTC into that. The growth potential is there.
It's definitely a coin to look out for, it's been in the top 10 on Coinmarketcap for ages. The only issue I have with it is that it isn't actually used that much, so maybe most of the value comes from pure speculation.

About the instamine issue, according to the developers themselves, the instamine was actually an accident and was rectified pretty early on.
It should also have no infuence on future prices since most of those coins had been sold early.

I'm not saying that this info is accurate though..
3126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can the Most Powerful Computer on Earth Hack Bitcoin? on: July 13, 2017, 12:48:37 PM

This kinda fits Smiley  Source: https://xkcd.com/538/

You really have to wonder if it is cost effective to do so. The value of Bitcoin would drop to zero if this was possible, what do they have to gain?
Unless it was a government effectivily trying to destroy Bitcoin ofc.
3127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: affiliates as players on: July 13, 2017, 12:40:26 PM
I do play with my earnings on Crypto-games, but the only traffic visiting my affiliate link is from this forum through my signature, so my earnings aren't that great there. (earnings from affiliate)
It's pretty hard to get really good affiliates that stay active, but you never know Smiley
3128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some guy made 200 million from ETH on: July 13, 2017, 12:23:54 PM
What's stopping someone like that from just applying for citizenship in a tax haven?
If you have that kind of money, it shouldn't be that hard to try and find some sort of loophole together with a team of accountants.

Some countries also have some form of fiscal amnesty, you basically pay a large fine and are able to 'legalize' your money.
3129  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Faucets on: July 13, 2017, 12:19:32 PM
Faucets are mostly a waste of time, the payouts are too small to begin with. I started earning bitcoin through faucets. I worked on about forty faucets and I received about $0.05 per hour.

This translates to about 0.4 cents a day, or $10 a month if you slave hard enough.  Can you imagine yourself surviving on $10 a month?  That wouldn't pay for my internet fees. Plus eletricity it probably cost more, I just don't see any benefits.

Please read the thread before you post. OP wants to start a faucet, not use a faucet. ^grrrrrrr^ You are also wrong about the faucet not being worth it based on the worth of the few Satoshis you get for Free. I used faucets way back then, when payouts was between 1000 to 5000 satoshi's per hour. I also got lucky and won some jackpots and I also received FREE Satoshi's from my referral network. < I did nothing and still received this passive income from the referrals >

Based on today's Bitcoin price those Satoshis added up to a significant amount of money. So I have zero regrets that I participated in faucets back then. ^smile^

Are you both the same person? Why are you parroting each other? Yes, I read the entire thread and I am sure redigaffi would appreciate an honest opinion from someone who has earned from faucets.
In my opinion (you may like it or not), faucets are a waste of time. Both for the worker and owner. More so based on today's prices, nobody pays 1000 to 5000 satoshi's per hour. If you find one that pays that much, please let me know.

He's saying that what you earn today, could be worth a lot more in the future. He wasn't saying that today you could find a faucet that pays 1000-5000 sats per hour, but that it was possible in the past (which is true).
So the earnings you made in the past, could be worth a couple of 100 dollars, if you really spent enough time on faucets back then.

I still think it's a waste of time though, you could also focus on something more lucrative today and save those Bitcoins, then you'll have a couple of 1000 dollars unstead of hundreds. Smiley
3130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin transaction cost so high? Why? on: July 13, 2017, 12:13:32 PM
I would really like to see the transaction txid if possible. There hasn't really been too much congestion lately, so it might be possible that you overpaid, unless the transaction had a lot of inputs.
You should always check the proper amount of fees that you should pay instead of relying on your wallet to calculate the fees.

Some people have already mentioned this website, but I'll share it too:
https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

Always check there before sending your transaction.
3131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Switching to Etherum on: July 13, 2017, 12:03:33 PM
Ethereum is the one coin I'll probably never get into, I've bought and sold some in the past, but after the split with ETC and ETH, I just don't trust it anymore.
It's entirely possible that something similar might happen again and I didn't like the way they've handled it the first time.

Doesn't mean I'd exclusively use Bitcoin, just other altcoins combined with Bitcoin.
3132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin about the free world, but not for us in the Middle East! on: July 13, 2017, 11:58:53 AM
Buy bitcoin in localbitcoins.com or in coinbase

Coin base doesn't work in middle east. Localbitcoin is ridiculously expensive.

Thanks bro.
Is Localbitcoins actually that expensive? Haven't used it in a long time, but when I did, I was always able to find some pretty decent deals depending on which payment method I used.
I would think that there was enough competition there to push the markup down, or not?

Decentralized exchanges might also be an option, I recently used Bitsquare to buy Bitcoin and that went pretty smooth.
3133  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Arbitrage: have you ever tried and how much have you earned so far? on: July 12, 2017, 09:06:55 PM
Arbing can be profitable if you large amount of coins sitting in different exchanges. It requires big sums because the profits are tiny, in most cases less tan 1%.You also have to factor in exchange fees. It is a decent income, but there are risks too. If they price changes on one exchange before your sell/buy order is filled, you may incur losses.
Larger capital must be insignificant here but you must need funds in different exchanges so that you can make use of abbitrage trading. Because, your large capital may not cover all the price gaps. So, even with small capital also you can make some profits out of this type of trading. But getting ready with enough funds and moving them across exchanges will be the big challenge here.
That's why it's far better to use a bot for that, you can really react faster to sudden price changes and discrepancies between the exchanges.
If you're moving funds manually, you're going to miss out on profit in the end.

The past few weeks haven't been the best for arbitrage though.
3134  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: O3 Wallet - User friendly HD wallet. (Not production ready. Test it on Testnet) on: July 12, 2017, 09:02:24 PM
Multi-wallet:- We are in very early stage, So we are only focused on Bitcoins.

BTW we are not like Xapo or any other hosted wallet. Our wallet is software that you can download currently only on windows platforms.

I'd be very interested to hear which coins you would be supporting in the future and if all wallets (Bitcoin + altcoins) will be contained within one application?
I don't even think there are any other wallets out there that provide this.

Are you planning on releasing the wallet for other operating systems? Mac, Linux?
3135  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Pump and dump bot? What do you think? on: July 12, 2017, 06:19:09 PM
Could you publish a link to the bot, so we can at least check it for virusses?
Looks interesting if it actually works, but a lot of these bots that are promoted via Youtube have malware on them.
3136  Economy / Gambling / Re: ★Crypto-Games.net ★ 9 coins ★ 7 games ★ Since 2014 ★ New - Litecoin lottery! on: July 12, 2017, 06:16:42 PM
Has the veteran status been removed?

My tag is gone and I havent even got a notification mail.
There are still plenty of veterans, from time to time we check who fit among them and who's not. Veteran tag is not permanent. But thanks for suggestion, next time I'll notify users about tag change.
Where do you see this veteran tag? Is it something in chat or what?
Are there any benefits to having one?

I've checked the FAQ and found nothing.
3137  Economy / Economics / Re: Can bitcoin be a more secured way of handling cash? on: July 12, 2017, 06:11:01 PM
There's been news going around saying that you need to put in a certain address to able to steal that account. I was wondering if that's fake and bitcoin is a secured way of handling cash.

i don't even know what you are talking about but consider these:
- it has been 8 years that bitcoin existed
- there are 200,000 - 300,000 transactions happening per day [1]
- there is about 200-300 million dollar being transferred between keys each day [2]
- the top 2 richest addresses have >100,000BTC balance and there are more with big numbers in them [3]

now do you think any of these would have been possible if you could "put in an address and steal account"! Grin

[1] https://blockchain.info/charts/n-transactions
[2] https://blockchain.info/charts/estimated-transaction-volume-usd?daysAverageString=7
[3] https://bitinfocharts.com/top-100-richest-bitcoin-addresses.html
Well in a way he's actually right, if you have access to the private key of a Bitcoin address, you have access to that address.
That's probably what he meant by 'you need to put in a certain address to able to steal that account.'

And people do steal addresses, there have been certain wallets with vulnerabilities that 'leaked' the private keys. I think it was an android wallet if I remember correctly.
3138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How I made 1 BTC in one night from a gambling website on: July 12, 2017, 05:11:47 PM
I think in this days trying to win a 1 BTC in just one night is so hard. It is so difficult and impossible to earn 1 BTC in only one night in any gambling website. The thing is when you bet a big amount an almost 90% of your budget and that day is what your luckiest day and that was totally you gotten 1 BTC or maybe greater than that.

Precisely, if according to the logic that we have 99% of people will surely be thinking that way would be very impossible to do, because gambling is bad enough for a few people who do something the game in ways that are not appropriate or amateur. To get 1 BTC overnight can indeed, but it all requires a very long process. Because the professional gambler who has long played the course have the possibility to win big is very small. So this is a pretty difficult thing to have to do

We're on a thread talking about someone who made 1 BTC from affiliate earnings. You're adding nothing to the conversation and the things that you are saying are also just wrong.
You can win 1 BTC in a few seconds, if you just do 1 bet that wins you 1 BTC and win.
3139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community? on: July 12, 2017, 03:10:41 PM
According to the website https://coin.dance/stats males make up 97% of the Bitcoin community. Why is the Bitcoin community dominated by guys?

Because there are very few women in STEM (Science, technology, engineering, and mathematics). Feminists argue that men in those fields are biased against women and don't want to accept them, opponents argue that women naturally less interested in STEM disciplines. So, if you want to understand why there are less women than men (even though the data in your link might be incorrect), you should search for "Women in STEM" in general.
That's true, but that doesn't really explain the 97% number, seems like a far bigger gap than in other STEM fields.
I'd be very wary of the methods they used to get this result.

What's the ratio here on the forum, for example? Are there any stats?
3140  Other / Meta / Having 2 accounts, allowed or not? on: July 12, 2017, 01:38:09 PM
Not asking for me, but I came across a post of someone stating that they have 2 accounts to participate in signature campaigns.
It's probably not really against the rules of the forum itself, but I thought I'd share anyway.

Hi guys Smiley May I know what are your plans on your Bitcoin in the future? Do you plan to keep on investing on Bitcoin related businesses or do plan to convert it into fiat and ventures on new business?

I'm planning to invest more on Bitcoin related companies and convert some of my Bitcoin into fiat and invest it on our local stock market. How about you?
