Most exchanges are going to require some form of id to comply with aml and kyc laws. The ones that don't are very likely unlicensed and illegal to use not to mention possibly dodgy. If you don't want to provide ID just go to localbitcoins and try arrange to sell your coins for cash.

You won't get a response from there so nobody can help you if you don't tell us the name of the account but like 99% of the why was I perma banned? threads in meta I'm guessing it was for copying and pasting. |

Read the rules. You get caught cheating by plagiarising content and you're instantly banned. If we urban you then there's hundreds of other people who will want the same. And yes, you are among the worst type of person here on this forum because your greed and laziness has ruined it for everyone. Instead of constructively contributing to valid discussions and being lucky enough to get paid for it you instead will happily and lazily regurgitate shit someone else wrote purely for greed. That's not contributing anything worthwhile to a community; it's the exact opposite.

Most of your last 20 posts seem to be copy and pastes: It's fine to try to predict future prices and to share those with people, but you really should not be telling people that trading based on your predictions is safe unless you have very vast amounts of data proving that you can consistently profit over years of trading in many, many different market conditions. Anything short of that is deception, and making money off of a service like this would be illegal just FYI.
But like I said, if you advertise this as predictions and disclose that it is not necessarily safe, then you are golden. And as I mentioned, accepting money would be illegal unless you are certified.

I wonder how long it is till some sweatshop gets busted with people shitposting here on bitcointalk with their hundreds of accounts  . How did they managed to purchase 400,000 SIM cards? In my country, it is very tough to get a SIM card. You need to show your ID cards. And if there are more than 4-5 cards issued against your name, then usually the cops will appear at your doorstep. How these guys managed to get 400,000?
You don't need anything in the UK. In fact, some providers will give you them for free because they want your business. There's also the black market. |

Oh come on drop all pretense already. Everyone is posting on this forum for their financial interests only. Users, mods, admins, the whole package. It doesn't matter if you have more green than the Brazil national flag. This forum is one gigantic artificial advertisement and nothing more.
I dare to disagree. These siganture campaigns in the forum should be treated as a reward system for actively participating and contributing something valuable to the forum itself. It is not solely for financial interests but rather an exchange of ideas and thoughts, a way to learn more and effectively especially to those who have experienced it first hand. But it's not a reward system for contributing anything of value. If it was there would be no problem with campaigns as they would encourage only quality discussion. The only thing that they currently reward are third-world shitposters who make literally dozens or sometimes hundreds of accounts to take advantage of crapcoin campaigns that will happily accept and pay anyone regardless of content. Your entire posting history could be copy and pastes of others posts or one line sentences of absolutely nothing of substance and they'll get paid for it campaign after campaign. To OP, you can choose to ignore, report, or blacklist them. Signature Campaign managers are implementing strict rules and choosy in picking participants because they knew about this. Maybe some are not that strict enough particularly in the ICOs which have hundreds of participants to look at it one by one.
Nobody has time to spend all day ignoring the literally hundreds of shitposters. People would just leave if they had to do that because if you haven't got a signature it would be mostly pointless posting here. The forum is largely unusable for any worthwhile discussion because the vast majority of the content is by semi-illiterates churning out one sentence of barely intelligible crap on one account after the other purely as a way to earn a living. Many of them will have little to no interest or knowledge of bitcoin at all but only care about it for the money they can bleed out of signature campaigns. And the ico campaigns almost exclusively do little to nothing about the quality of posts on their campaign and several of these campaigns pop up every month accepting as many users as they can get which is often in the hundreds. One farmer alone was caught with over two hundred accounts on one campaign and that will just be the tip of the shitberg. |

Yes! I would absolutely want to make a police complaint about this guy unfortunately I just don't believe that my complaint would make a difference. I did ask my bank that should I prove myself innocent and it would mean I am actually the victim of fraud here would they persue this criminal charges against the fraudster and I got a vague response. Seems not.
Then press charges. The guy was probably dumb enough to use his own account if he's trying to get the money back. If what you say is all true then you should have ample proof that you sent the coins and he received them so it's black and white that he's trying to commit fraud. If you don't file a police complaint he'll just keep doing it until he gets caught. If he has a history of doing this then he'll likely face punishment. Doesn't local bitcoin use escrow any way to stop this sort of fraud? |

Thanks for the reassurances. I'm unable to get into the branch until next Friday but I have spoken to their fraud department and I was lucky the last time I tried a really nice representative took the call and really tried to help me. But I'll still need to go into the branch and show my localbitcoins.com activity and prove that the bitcoins were given to the buyer.
I will update you on the results. In the meantime any more practical advice would be appreciated especially from anyone who has faced such a situation with a UK bank before.
If you have all the proof that you sent the coins to him (or they were released from escrow) then I can't see why there should be a problem. You should also file a police report and press charges against the guy because this is attempted theft/fraud. |

Feedback is there as a precaution as any account that didn't change their password since the 2015 forum hack are likely hacked themselves. I will happily remove it once reasonable proof has been shown.
If you are talking about the attack where theymos(iirc) said to change our passwords*, then, I was there at that time. You can see that by checking my "latest posts". I have changed my password at that time. However, I haven't changed my password after that. If my account did change hands, it should have been changed, right? And also do you really think I would give my personal accounts(Twitter, Github, Facebook, Skype etc...)? I have exchanged encrypted messages with shorena. Although, I can't say content exactly as it was, but I can say what we have exchanged each other(if shorena is willing, in here, otherwise, in PM or Twitter). I have also exchanged my number with few Indians(eg: chronicsky, Mahin Gupta(Zebpay), Advaith Doosa and few others). Does Mahin Gupta's words have credibility? After all, he is one of the people behind Zebpay and he was previously founder of BuySellBitco.in. BuySellBitco is also his username IIRC. Some of the accounts hacked haven't had their passwords changed (maybe to try avoid detection) but it's possible this and your accounts were compromised some other way (maybe reusing passwords etc). If shorena or someone else of similar stature can confirm details that may be ok but do you not have access to any old bitcoin wallets? I'm sure you didn't lose access to them and a signed message would be enough here. |
