3121  Economy / Speculation / Re: What do you think about Bitcoin? on: January 09, 2022, 08:58:34 AM
Because at present the approval of bitcoin is increasing in different countries.
I don't think this is correct, many countries are still very hostile to Bitcoin cause it is decentralized, I mean, countries like to control every aspects of their citizens life, especially their finances, and since Bitcoin allows its users to be their own bank, they (the government) do not want to have anything to do with Bitcoin, that's why quite a lot of countries have and will continue to impose bans and sanctions against Bitcoin.
I wonder when the price of Bitcoin will reach $ 100k +.
The thing is, no one actually knows when that will happen, you just have to believe in the network when you invest in it, you have to be patient and hold, and you must understand that there is no get rich quick method in the network as it's a long term coin.
3122  Economy / Economics / Re: New Year - The crypto economics on: January 09, 2022, 07:26:53 AM
2021 was a great year for me but one of the mistakes  I made last year was not having a financial goal for my self, all I had was like a waste because their was no target for the year. I have Learnt my mistakes which won't repeat again this year. This I have already draft my an for  the year and investing is one of the goals have set this year. I believe it is gonna all come out for good because I have set good goals this year.
Actually, not everyone believes in drafting out a plan/goal for the year, they just do things the right way and watch it work out or not for them, at least we all know what's right or wrong in our heads, we all know when we should save and not be extravagant, etc, but if you believe in setting/drafting out goals, then it's also fine, it also has its advantages as I feel it can make one more serious about actualizing the set goals, I wish you all the best mate.
Most of the time people lose their money in the markets because they are simply expecting too much out of them, they want to generate profits so quickly that in their attempts to make some quick money they get the opposite results.
We always have the "get rich quick" investors in the network, this are individuals that do not have any patience and they just want to get rich after a few weeks of investing, this of course will cause them to make mistakes such as choosing the wrong investment, or falling into the hands of people that will scam them, there is no quick money and until people realize that they will continue to lose money.
3123  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unsettling, for those who don't have it on: January 08, 2022, 09:15:18 PM
This is the reason why it has been growing so much all these years. More number of people are becoming aware of it and realizing it's potential.
I second that, I also think the benefit of being your own bank has been underrated by quite a lot of people in the past, but due to inflation and dictatorial policies by many governments, quite a lot of individuals and organizations as well are now harnessing the benefits of being your own bank in the Bitcoin network, and also using the network as a hedge to fiat Inflation and other whatnots, I expect the number of Bitcoin users to steadily continue to grow as people begin to discover its benefits till we get to mass adoption.
3124  Economy / Economics / Re: Sharing and helping others on: January 08, 2022, 08:32:03 PM
This Christmas if you can't give a gift like money, bitcoin and other material things, let's just share our knowledge of crypto with others as a gift.
It is actually not really that easy to share information about Bitcoin to people, the media has already corrupted people's minds about Bitcoin, thus for some people when you approach them with information about Bitcoin, they immediately start to think you're attempting to introduce them into a network where they'll lose their money. Having said that, I always encounter issues with some people close to me whenever I successfully introduce them to Bitcoin, the problem stems from the volatility of the price of Bitcoin, thus when they invest and the price of Bitcoin plunges, they usually sell out of panic, thereby incurring loss and blame me for everything in the end, thus for people who still share info about Bitcoin, do not persuade or pressure such people, just tell them about the network and allow them to go do their own research.
3125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- Group Stage! on: January 08, 2022, 07:53:18 PM
Liverpool have a tough draw against Inter actually. Maybe Inter aren't one of the favourite teams of the title but they are still a dangerous team. Their performance in this season also is very good as we can understand from their place in the Serie A too. They aren't doing bad in the Champions League also which should be enough to be a warning to Liverpool. But I still expect Liverpool to eliminate them.
Many people and pundits seem to have already written off inter Milan in this particular draw, but I still think it's going to be a really tough game for Liverpool, Inter Milan are a very strong side that can pose quite a lot of problems and if Liverpool are not careful they could be eliminated by them, I'm pretty sure Klopp must have talked to his players to be weary of the threat Inter can pose, so they do not become complacent and find themselves in a really difficult situation.
I won't say that Man City will have an easier time, but they should have no difficulty in winning both games against Sporting.
I have to completely agree with you, City are firing on all cylinders, and Sporting isn't even the sort of team to actually give City too many problems, after getting to the final last season, City are my favorites for the title as I expect then to go a step further and finally win the CL.
3126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 08, 2022, 07:03:35 PM
You guys talk as if Manchester City are just doing well because  they have great players, you don't praise pep for his work, comparing city squad with Liverpool and Chelsea and Manchester United is not much different in term of quality.Vincent company, yaya toure, David Silva and kun Aguero have all left but you won't notice it because of the constant thinking of pep.
I have to completely agree with you on that, you hear people saying that City only play well cause they have quality players, but it's not all about having the players, you'll also have to manage them, and that's something pep is doing very well, for example they have been without a striker for a very long time and they are still scoring more goals that most of the teams in the world, the tactics pep brings to the game is second to none, and City's brilliance is not just down to the players, but also the ingenuity of the manager, and I think that City would actually have a couple of problems themselves when pep leaves the club.

United have offered France midfielder Paul Pogba, 28, a deal worth £500,000 a week to remain at the club. Very good offer but Pogba seems to have turned down the offer. Where he will end up?
To be honest, I don't really know why Manchester United board will offer Paul Pogba such a great deal to stay in the club, he is more or less a liability to the club and they really should have done away with him already, Paul Pogba and Manchester United are not meant to be, and I'm surprised the hierarchy at United aren't aware of that already, the player needs to move somewhere else and see if he can rediscover his form and talent, for now he really has nothing to offer Manchester United.
Argentina forward Lionel Messi, 34, could force his Paris St-Germain exit after just one season if the club fails to win the Champions League, according to former Barcelona midfielder and Spain international Lobo Carrasco. If this scenario really happens, then where will Messi go? Return to Barcelona?
I don't think Messi will actually leave PSG, but even if he does, there's no way he is going back to Barcelona, they are in a big financial mess and Messi can only be there if he actually agrees to play for free, City have been a long admirer of Messi, and as such the Etihad is always an option for him.
3128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Too much of new crypto projects? on: January 08, 2022, 11:04:23 AM
Its been a very long time that I've been using coinmarketcap.com/new to find new crypto projects that just get listed on the platform and I've come to notice that every two to three days coinmarketcap always list up to 30 new crypto projects, how insane is that? It shows that more than 100 crypto projects are released every week cos some landed on coingecko first before coinmarketcap, this to me is scary
Mind you that it has been this way for a couple of years now, there used to be a time when investors made money out of new crypto projects, but at the moment all that seems to be in the past, many of them (new projects) are nothing but shitcoins and pump and dump projects, making it very difficult and indeed risky for Investor who still wants to try out their luck with such new projects being pumped into the market. Having said that, rather than looking for such projects, the better option is to go for established coins like Bitcoin or ethereum, they are long term sustainable coins, and all you need to do is to have patience and hold them, with time you'll make good ROI.
3129  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [NEWBIE] What To Do To Avoid Red-Trust. on: January 08, 2022, 10:41:18 AM
Don't just disappear right away. Keep in mind, when you owe and don't pay, not only lenders will provide neg-trust...
Mind that that loan defaulters could actually care less about any negative rating left on their accounts trust page, I mean, they have already made up their mind to leave the forum with the money they swindled, or have decided to carry on posting here with a ruined reputation (and also not being eligible to join any signature campaign), it is the lender that is usually left to bear the brunt of losing their money to such people, and that's why they have to be very careful how they lend money out, and the amount they can give to a particular user, based on reputation, past deals, history of loans paid back, amount of years spent on the forum, etc.
3130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin close to becoming totally irrelevant for most "normal" people?? on: January 07, 2022, 09:13:49 PM
Is it just my impression or is interest in Bitcoin going down rapidly? One of the top recent threads is "Btc is boring".
Most of the other threads is mainly about hodlers trying to convince others to buy BTC, kind of reminds me of some random MLM forum rants promising riches and little to no substance.
I really don't know exactly how Bitcoin is boring to people who claim it is, the only thing I can imagine is that they prolly invested and the price didn't appreciate immediately just as they envisaged, but mind you that Bitcoin isn't a pump and dump coin like some of the altcoins around that investors can be lucky to put their money in and it appreciates asap and gives them good ROI, but it's very risky and only a few are lucky using that strategy. Having said that, Bitcoiners shouldn't even try to convince people to join the Bitcoin network, people should only invest cause they have done their research and find Bitcoin interesting and want to invest in it.
3131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The future is looking bright for BITCOIN on: January 07, 2022, 08:53:23 PM
China banned bitcoin because they fear the open network that is bitcoin. If it can't be censored or manipulated by them in one way or the other, they want nothing to do with it.
China loves absolute control cause they are a dictatorial country, thus there is no way they can embrace a currency that allows its users to be their own bank and control their funds themselves, and it's not just peculiar to just China alone, most governments want to control everything that has to do with the finances of their citizens, that's why many of them see Bitcoin as a threat and why many of them have created and launched CBDC's to deceive their citizens that it's a decentralized currency like Bitcoin, whereas it's not.

Having said that, the great part of the network is that despite all the ploy and decisions made by diverse countries either through ban, sanctions or other whatnots, to bring down the value of Bitcoin, it can only work for a very short time, the network always bounces back up pretty fast and that's why a lot of people have trust in it, even institutional investors.
3132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc hodlers vs short time traders on: January 07, 2022, 08:01:27 PM
In some cases, short term holders are most likely to be the lucky ones than those diamond hands holders, assuming you are able to time the market and know when to sell and when to buy back, you will be much happier with your position as a holder instead of holding all through but this is not always the case so it all depends on individual and their ability to determine the right time to act.
I do not completely agree with you, short term holders aren't always lucky, and mind you that short term investors tend to invest in altcoins that are usually profitable in the short term, but also very risky cause many, if not all of them are pump and dump coins and as such they can appreciate fast and dump faster, making it very possible to incur loss.

But having said that, long term holders usually choose Bitcoin, and if you look at its history, its price always appreciates back up even after a dump or a plunge, thus if one is patient enough to hold Bitcoin for the long period they are usually bound to make good returns on their investment.
3133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My Bitcoin mistake In 2020-2021 on: January 07, 2022, 05:08:21 PM
One of the ways I save my Bitcoin is by buying during the deep never looking at it again for over some time. I have learned big from that small mistake of the past 2020-2021.
Mind you that you can't hodl Bitcoin forever especially when you intend to use it as an investment (and not a currency), if you invest in the Bitcoin network then you intend to make profit, so if you had actually made profit before you sold, then I'm sorry mate you didn't make any mistake, I don't like it when people regret selling their coins cause the price hiked after they sold, you must understand that the price of Bitcoin is volatile, thus it can either go up or down as the case may be, so you can sell and the price appreciates or plunges. What's most important is the kind of investor you are, long term and short term, if you're short term, then it's great to sell whenever you make profit, as for long term investors, they tend to hodl for a longer time, but whichever you are, as long as you're an Investor, the goal is to make profit, and if you did, then it is what it is, and I don't see any mistake being made.
3134  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin is unsettling, for those who don't have it on: January 07, 2022, 04:06:35 PM
from here I started to think, the reason why people still hate bitcoin is because they don't exist and have never felt what it's like to be here so when other people say it's very good they won't believe it because they haven't felt it before.
In my opinion, the major reason why a lot of people don't believe or trust in the Bitcoin network is cause of many of the erroneous information disseminated by the media about Bitcoin, it's no longer news that the government do not like the Bitcoin network so most of the information from the media about Bitcoin is usually negative, even when such info is more often than not wrong, thus individuals who aren't in the Bitcoin network are deceived by such are become hostile towards it.

Being your own bank is a great advantage for Bitcoin users, and since the government doesn't want people to have control over their funds, they find multiple ways to attack the network and make it look pretty bad to non-Bitcoiners, but the thing is once one has done his or her research about the network, they no longer believe false informations populated about the network and go on to trust and believe in Bitcoin.
3135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 04, 2022, 08:16:14 PM
According to the source, the midfielder intends to move to London Arsenal. Recall that earlier Coutinho played in the Premier League for Liverpool, so he is well acquainted with the league.
It may not be a bad deal for both parties (Arsenal and Coutinho), I know Coutinho has been at his worst since he left Liverpool, but this transfer can help to revive his career for good, he needs game time and he is not getting any of it at the moment, I don't know if he'll get too much of it at Arsenal, or if Mikel Arteta has already thought of the role that will suit Coutinho in the Arsenal squad, he would not cost them too much, so I think they should just buy him outrightly and not try to acquire him on loan. Even if Coutinho may not be a regular starter in the Emirates, he'll help to Increase their squad depth in case of injuries, fatigue, suspension, etc, and help them push for a top four finish.
3136  Economy / Economics / Re: New Year - The crypto economics on: January 04, 2022, 06:41:04 PM
I wanna know how you guys gonna react to your own “personal economic world”.  Tongue
The thing is that even your "personal economic situation" still revolves around the general economic situation in your country, I mean if cost of living in your country is high as inflation levels skyrocket, with little or no jobs/unemployment/underemployment etc, all this is definitely bound to affect you as a citizen. Having said that, personally I want to learn more skills in this year, at the moment individuals with skills are highly sought-after, thus I'm definitely going to add up on my already existing skills to increase my chances of earning from multiple sources, then to add to that, as has been the case with me for a couple of years now, I'll still stick with Bitcoin as a hedge against my country's devaluing fiat currency. If we're to be honest with ourselves it's not really going to be too rosy at the beginning of this year, we're still struggling to curtail the virus and its mutating nature, thus it's best everyone lives according to what they earn and not try to be too extravagant.
3137  Economy / Economics / Re: Covid crisis leaves Sri Lanka on brink of bankruptcy on: January 04, 2022, 06:12:31 PM
There are many americans on social media I have seen, who believe its impossible for those who work hard to experience this degree of poverty affecting places like sri lanka. They say youth today are unable to afford basic necessities while working in entry level positions, due to them refusing to "hustle" the way that older generations think they themselves "hustled" when they were young. It is strange how many refuse to acknowledge dangers of negative economic conditions, and how they might someday affect everyone.
People who think that way are definitely wrong, I'm not from Sri Lanka, but my country is also in a dire situation and I can tell you that people over here work really hard, we're in a really terrible economic situation with cost of living really high and salaries really low, so sometimes no matter how hard you work, you earn little or nothing to take care of yourself and your family. I have friends who work from 7am - 6pm from Monday to Friday but yet have nothing to show for it, and even if you earn a fairly average salary, due to Inflation/high cost of living, you end up not being able to afford much.
Whenever I read things like this, I assume the worst case scenario. These troubles will someday make their way to the shores of the united states. It is best to prepare.
I know the U.S. are also bearing the brunt of the pandemic with inflation and all due to so much money printing, but I doubt if the situation in America can get as worse as it is in Sri Lanka and other developing countries, America has a better economy than virtually every country in the world, so even at their worst, they'll prolly still stay somewhat afloat and much better than many economies of the world.
3138  Other / Meta / Re: Merits Tree 2021 - Who gives merits to whom on: January 04, 2022, 05:41:30 PM
I still find there are many users holding merit for no reason, which I think might be laziness or something else (vanity or some feeling of superiority trying to meet high standards?)
I don't really know if I can attribute it to laziness, cause if one is an active user on the forum, and as such posts frequently you must come across good posts frequently, I mean before you post, you must first of all have read at least the OP of the thread you want to comment on, so laziness could prolly not be an excuse, except the user is altogether not really an active one.

Having said that, the case of high standard could come into play, and it's something that's somewhat subjective, in my opinion, I think the users that i could understand if they prolly keep a really high meriting standard is users that aren't merit sources, they could have the mindset that they just have a couple of smerits (sometimes one or two), and they'll want to save it for the very best; but merit sources on the other hand should be more lenient when awarding merits, I know they also run out of it, but they get replenished, and more often than not they have more smerits to give out than an average non-merit source user.
3139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 04, 2022, 04:22:52 PM
Only Man City, Chelsea, and Liverpool are spearheading the trophy.
That was prolly at the beginning of the season, at the moment it no longer looks like a three horse race to me, but a one horse race with City leading comfortably, I know there is still a chunk of the season to go, but I mean there is no overlooking City's dominance and the fact that they look set to retain their title, and win their fourth title in six seasons, that's absolutely phenomenal. And to make things worse for their rivals Pep is not the kind of manager whose team capitulates easily, so I don't see City throwing away this huge gap they have over Chelsea, Liverpool and the rest of the chasing pack, it's prolly early to say the league is all but over, but it well and truly could be.
3140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 02, 2022, 07:09:57 PM
There was rumours in the English media mainly after Lukaku's interview and the drama that was made after it. He is frustrated with Chelsea, not performing as he used to do with Inter. Meanwhile I am not sure Inter could pay big for him regarding they are leading Serie A without his help, and not sure Chelsea will let him go cheaply to another team. I think they will find a way to resolve the issues between them and he will remain in Chelsea next season.
I'll give my own take on the Lukaku situation, I think he has a right to be unhappy if things aren't going the way he actually envisaged, or if the manager isn't employing the strategy that suits him, but there are more professional ways to handle the situation than the path he took, he could have talked to the manager in private and aired his grievances, it's much better than disclosing it to the media and causing a stir in the club. Having said that, I believe they'll settle this sooner or later, they invested a whole lot in Lukaku, thus they can't keep him out of the team for too long, I'm sure the club will have a chat with him, and he'll definitely face disciplinary sanctions before he is integrated into the team; the real problem here is if the fans will forgive him for the words he spoke, he'll prolly have to win their hearts back.
