3121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lomachenko vs Commey - December 11 on: December 10, 2021, 03:03:54 AM
Yes, it seems that boxing public is still torn, I mean for sure Loma could win this fight, but it could be under 8.5 or could be by decision, whichever is more attractive to the betting public.

I haven't bet yet, but I will go for under 8.5 round, Loma will figure Commey early and devise a strategy to try and end this fight and not go to go the judges with a knockout.
3122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 10, 2021, 02:13:42 AM
I think Djokovic has put himself in a strange position regarding this whole vaccination,
qualified to play thing. IMO the organisers are 100% right to request players to be vaccinated,
and the players have a duty of care towards their peers and staff of any organisation to
remain healthy.

I think he realises that he isnt going to be able to play without the jab, hes probably fighting
it though. If he gets it he wont talk and he will be under pressure from the media to make a
comment, its interesting to see what happens next.

But it's better to reveal if he really took the jab isn't it? So that there will be no ounce of suspicions on his case and instead of being alienated by other players because of his belief about the vaccine and the covid-19 virus, he will be accepted.

So everything will work on his favor him and hopefully it is true that he really take the 2 doses of vaccine to be on the safe side amongst his peers. So yes, it's going to be interesting what Djokovic will say to the media before the start of the Australian Open next year.
3123  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 10, 2021, 01:10:55 AM
It appears some people are speculating that Gervonta Davis is not that good after Cruz hehehe. In reality, Gervonta Davis’ poor performance for the fight versus Cruz was because of an injury of his left hand that might have occurred in round 5.

Yep, that's why he wasn't able to get a knock out win against Cruz, and obviously, it's just one hand, but for sure he feels very uncomfortable during that fight because of the broken left hand and if you look at the fight, he still throws it round 6 onwards.

In any case, Ryan Garcia appears that he wants to fight Gervonta but he also said that team Mayweather never gave him an offer. Ryan Garcia is not very active and oddsmakers might make this near equal, I reckon. Both have the ability to win versus one another.

Not sure if it's going to push through, this has been ongoing for quite sometime now and so far nothing has come out. Its all in the media but there are no contracts whatsoever from either camp.
3124  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: December 09, 2021, 03:29:59 AM
There has been a change of plans in this fight,

Canelo won't go directly to Makabu, but he has to wait for the winner of Makabu vs Mchunu. This is a rematch fight and Mchunu doesn't want to step aside and this is going to be scheduled next year January 29.

https://www.boxingscene.com/wbc-prez-makabu-mchunu-winner-go-against-canelo--162422
It was to be expected, after all we know that right now Canelo is the cash cow of the world of boxing, so whoever he fights is going to get a lot of money for the privilege, so no one wants to miss the opportunity to fight him now that he is entering a new division, after all this is probably going to be one of the best opportunities anyone is going to have to beat him as he is not going to be used to fight with that much weight yet and his speed and power could be compromised.

I think you are missing the point of that rematch between Makabu vs Mchunu. There is no connection with what you are saying that Canelo is a cash cow.

Let that fight happen as there's a reason for it to be held first. Canelo can always wait and that should not be a problem for him.

OP should now update the thread or else, locked for the meantime.

Maybe what he is saying that who will ever win in their rematch will face Canelo, boxing's cash cow. So there is still connection for Makabu vs Mchunu.

Either one of them are going to train hard and fight as hard as they can because they know that they are going to be rewarded next with a great pay against Canelo. But I would say that Canelo will still have the advantage on either of Makabu or Mchunu and chances are high that he will get the cruiserweight title.
3125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Finally Climbs Back Above $50k, but can it Remain there? on: December 09, 2021, 02:39:54 AM
It's really hard to predict at this point, as per TA there is no upside, volume is still very low and now in the last hour the price seems to dip below $50,000. Of course it can bounce back, but it seems this support might not hold for that long.

And unless we really break the bearish trendline and reach at least $52,600 and 53,000 resistance, we are not out yet of this bear sentiments that is still gripping the market because of the covid-19 strain. Everyone is affected not just crypto market.
3126  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: December 09, 2021, 01:45:00 AM
Finally, we see the odds already.

I can't believe I'm seeing very attractive odds for Gaballo, so those who believe that an old Donaire may lose here, this is your chance to take Gaballo with a sweet 4.10 odds. Thanks @24Kt for sharing the odds.

It's not surprising. We all know from the start that Gaballo will be the underdog so the distribution of odds is not surprising.

As much as I want Donaire to win, I might put a bet on Gaballo this time. It's now time for young ones to take over. I just hope that Inoue still likes to accept a rematch against Donaire if ever the latter will lose on the fight.

Yep, I think the odds are just right, Donaire will be the favorite here obviously, he is the champion and more recognized name that Gaballo.

One thing that is an advantage for Gaballo is that he is not well known at least he has one fight in the US and it doesn't look good for him although he won that fight.

And yeah, that is a sweet odds for those who loves to beat on the underdog regardless.
3127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: December 09, 2021, 12:53:44 AM
Gerry Peñalosa said that Magsayo is a bad match-up for Gary Russell Jr.

Gary Russell Jr. a bad matchup for Mark Magsayo, says Peñalosa

Quote
“Russell is way better than Ceja so it cannot be compared. Russell is on a different level stylistically. He has good footwork and hand speed though if he gets hit by Mark he can go down,” he said.

Well,  he has a point, so this is a good challenge for Magsayo to train harder as this is his best shot to win a belt from a champion.
He is still young though... If he loses his career will not end but it's better if he will win this fight.

Not only his stamina has to be improved, but he also needs to improve his boxing skills as he could not be lucky everyday to score a knockout as he did in his previous fight.
Good analysis by Gerry Peñalosa here, yes I do agree that it will be a bad match up for Magsayo.

The foot work alone of Russell might make Mark Magsayo chase him all around and it could affect his strategy because he has to find that opening.

And Gary Russell has a good boxing IQ and good defense as well, so it's going to be difficult for Mark to even corner him so that he can give one power punch. Ceja is more of a brawler while Russell is a technical fighter, and any time a style like that, a technical boxer wins majority of it.

True, but you can't underestimate the heart of a Filipino, for sure Gerry knows that because he himself was a underdog against Jhonny Gonzalez of Mexico and won it via KO (body shot).

So there is a chance that even though Magsayo will be the huge underdog here based on his so-so performance against Ceja, this is still a winnable fight for him. He just go there with the correct mindset that he can win and knockout his opponent and bring glory to the country again.
3128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 09, 2021, 12:30:12 AM
Guys Its been on the sports news all day today, The Australian Open are sticking
to their guns and saying everyone competing has to be COVID vaccinated. We know
how Djokovic was very outspoken about his anti-vaccine thinking, well he is listed as
headlining the event.

Quote
Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal headline the entry list for the 2022 Australian Open,
it was revealed by tournament organisers on Wednesday.

https://www.atptour.com/en/news/australian-open-2022-field-released

Has he changed his tune? Has he foregone his previous stance in order to play?
The question is, did Novak Djokovic take the jab or not? If yes then good for him, but at least he should show proof for tennis media so that we are 100% sure of that and not that the Australian organizers has just given the top seed a favor here because it will not be fair for the other players.

And I'm sure that we are not going to ridicule Djokovic for changing his stance about not taking the vaccine, on the contrary we are going to appreciate what he has done, follow the safety protocols because majority of us has had vaccines.

It will totally back fire on the organisers will simply give Djokovic a free pass on their Australian Open.

Just because he is one of the main attractions of the game doesn't mean he is above the law? But yes, I agree that we fans as much as we hate or love Djokovic, will totally appreciate having the vaccine not just because we wants to compete, but that is the norm today. How many those who have died who said that vaccine is no help? And in the last minute totally regret their decision not getting it because they are going to die?
3129  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you buying in this market downturn? on: December 08, 2021, 12:30:51 AM
Hi, the market has dropped dramatically recently, and we have the opportunity to buy cool projects at a good price, for example, it was possible to buy Solana, NEAR, Avalanche, Cordana much cheaper than they were a week ago.  have you bought something, and if so, what have you bought?

I bought Solana and Cardano just enough for me to hold for maybe another 6 months to 1 year and see how it goes.

There are a lot of coins that I wanted to brought like BNB and Avalance but I stick with the two because I have a bunch of them already so I want to be just a bagholder.

And it's hard to pick other coins, maybe they really need to go down a bit so that we can fill our bags. But only in the top 10-20 coins, we don't want shit coins in our wallet, just saying.
3130  Economy / Speculation / Re: TA shows potential bullish breakout - if history repeats on: December 07, 2021, 11:59:09 PM
I am impressed when the price drops a lot, analysts seem to say that the price will drop a lot, when the price rises a lot, analysts appear to say that the price will rise a lot. in case of today's news:

One more Bitcoin price dip? BTC may fall again before 'slow grind up,' warns analyst

are the same people who were predicting $100,000 for this year

It's because Bitcoin has a history of recovering from a huge market correction and even bounce higher that it once had. So we fall at $66,000 and maybe we can bounce back at $68,000-$70,000.

But we have to wait for it, everything here is timing, and if there is a good news then the market can really achieved that run. However, the $100,000 prediction is not going to happen this year. In that scenario, we should be like in the $90,000 by now so that in the next couple of weeks, 6 digits can be achieved by it's wasn't meant to happen this year.
3131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Lomachenko vs Commey - December 11 on: December 07, 2021, 11:37:28 PM
~snip~
No doubt about Loma's skills and that's how fans follow him and support his fights. Wink

Almost there and I'm excited to see if how Loma will bring this one..  Smiley
^ Yeah it is almost there and this should be an exciting match and it would be nice if we watch them live.
I saw bookies odds between on them and it seems Commey has +600 odds while Loma got -1100 which is there are a lot of bettors on the side of Loma's goods. I cant imagine how Commey looks like after this match, as far as I remember, all of Loma's previous 15 fights and 11 of them were as a result of knockout.

I guess if someone will post a link again (@coin-investor), it will be great for us. I doubt though we can watch it live,  Grin

Commey now 7:1 odds against Loma in sportsbet. For sure Commey will be a good challenge for Loma in the first couple of rounds until he figures him out and be technical and Commey be like a lost pup inside because of Loma's ability to dart in and out and uses his footwork to confuse Commey.

I will not be surprised to see Commey quit here like the others who fought Loma.
3132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs. Isaac Cruz - December 5 on: December 07, 2021, 11:06:06 PM
This is a controversial fight, I think there should be a rematch so Tank Davis can prove clearly that he really won the fight. IIRC, his promoter Floyd had a fight with Maidana before and the fans are not happy with the judges' decision, so Mayweather gave him a rematch and beat Maidana in the rematch convincingly. For me, that's the best way to silence the people who doubt his victory in this fight.
Tank Davis said in the post fight interview that he won't give Cruz a rematch, so scrap that idea.

And I don't think that Davis will fight any of the champions for now, maybe they will wait for a bit till they beat each other.

So it might be Haney vs Kambosos next, and then maybe Loma will be the next in line.

Not sure about Ryan Garcia, he was supposed to fight Javier Fortuna last July, so maybe that will still be in effect when he comes back.

Since Davis is under Mayweather's promotions, they will likely look for bigger fights with bigger pay. If Davis said that he won't give a re-match, for sure, they are already thinking of the next opponent here. But if in case, there's high following of Davis-Cruz re-match, I guess, Davis camp will re-think about it. But for now, high likely that the next match is not for Cruz. Just hope that they will not cherry picking here, in favor of Davis.

But the thing is that Mayweather is protecting Davis, his cash cow and that's why he doesn't see him fight big names? Rolly Romero? Isaac Cruz?

He should get real challenges so that he will not just get bigger paycheck, but respect from boxing community. But as his boss, Floyd, doesn't care about that legacy or respect, as long as he has no loss he/they believed that they are the best.

You can argue that they can't get decent opponents because of Davis power, true, but in this fight, he has shows weakness and even broke his hands.
3133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Ioka Dec 31 on: December 07, 2021, 10:42:39 PM
This is not something directly to the fight but I'm just happy that local news here our now creating an article related to the fight. Before, only popular boxers are covered but now, all PH rising stars are now also included. Talking about GMA news here although I don't know if other networks also covering the same news.

I just learned thru their news channel that the fight will be postponed due to the Omicron Variant that is now opposing the new threat of infection in the world.
https://www.gmanetwork.com/news/sports/boxing/813296/ancajas-vs-ioka-unification-bout-postponed-due-to-omicron-travel-restrictions/story/

Japan is known to be too strict in its fight against Covid. No wonder they postponed right away any public events in their country for a brief period of time.

Its good that they postponed this match as early as possible, though some matches will still push through this month despite of the thread of the new variant. With regards to Ancajas, I'm impressed with his record and I know he can still defend his title. Let's wait for their announcement on the final date of this match, it can happen by January maybe.

I doubt that it will happen in January, this might push through at least 2-3 months I reckon.

As I have said, Japan is very strict with their covid-19 protocols and they don't want to happen to them what transpired during the initial spread of covid-19 in their country.

So just like the rest of you guys, we can't do anything but to wait for the fight because we all anticipated that this is going to be a good boxing match. I like Ancajas but Ioka is a big challenge for this 11th defense and then he will also take the belt of Ioka for unification.
3134  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: December 06, 2021, 12:35:28 AM
These are the champions that Canelo will have to face if he stays at Cruiserweight class.

https://boxrec.com/media/index.php/Category:World_Champions_By_Weight_Class#Cruiserweight_.28200_lbs.2C_90.7_kg.2C_14_st_4_lbs.29

These are big and powerful boxers, if he will reign here then probably that's another history for him.
It is going to be very interesting what happens in the cruiserweight category now that Canelo is in it, most of those champions are going to want to have the chance to fight him so they can earn a lot of money but they could be giving away their belts in the process, if Canelo dominates this division as well all what will be left for him will be try to fight in the heavyweight division, even if not long ago Canelo insisted that was not part of his plans.

Yes, that is the Canelo sweepstakes, just like Pacquiao before, even if he still past his prime, fighters want to face him because of the huge payment they are going to check.

To be honest, it was only Breidis who is more familiar to me in the Crusierweight division, I also have to check the other champions when Canelo decided to move up in this division and yes, those are big and powerful dude that Canelo has to face to chase greatness. If he decided to stay here, it will be a different story.
3135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gervonta Davis vs. Isaac Cruz - December 5 on: December 06, 2021, 12:10:29 AM
But Davis is really good as a boxer, actually, I have no idea that Floyd is his promoter. I know some of us here do not like Floyd, but, I respect him because he is good, he doesn't cherry-pick as he fought Canelo and Pacquiao and beat them, what I don't like is his boring boxing style.
You are kidding, right? When you said you don't know that Floyd Mayweather is Davis's promoter when this is not something new within the boxing ecosystem.
Is not that people hate Floyd, I am personally his fan but I think boxing fans are tired of fighting where the match seems to fix (the Champion going after the fighter people know are easy for him to beat).

I agree though that people hate Davis because of Floyd, simply as that. But for the record though, he fought a very new Canelo, actually it was the first time that we heard the name of Canelo that time, because if was his first time he fought in the US. We know that Floyd vs Manny is long overdue and Pacquiao that time has shoulder injury (no excuses but just telling the facts).

Now though boxing fans are more smart, they only appreciate boxers who fought the best in their division and they don't care if a fighter has 0 lost. Manny was appreciate even though he has a lot of lost because he fought everyone.
3136  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Ioka Dec 31 on: December 05, 2021, 03:17:18 AM
https://sports.inquirer.net/442761/jerwin-ancajas-set-for-new-years-eve-unification-vs-kazuto-ioka-in-tokyo

It's now official Philippines Jerwin Ancajas will fight Japanese Kazuto Ioka for unification of their IBF and WBO crown.

Ancajas, one of Philippines longest reigning champion, will go for his 10th title defense of his IBF. So this will big as we will have to witnessed another Filipino boxer before the end of the year with Ancajas going to Japan and fight Ioka.
This is going to be a difficult fight for Ancajas, even if he has more professional fights than Ioka the Japanese fighter has fought 23 championship fights out of a total of 29, so Ioka has more experience on these kind of fights in which everything can change with a single punch, obviously Ancajas has a chance but I suppose Ioka is going to be the favorite for the fans and the casinos, especially since the match will take place at Japan.

Not sure about that, I think Ancajas will still be the favorite in this fight based on the strength of his 10 successive defense of his title as IBF champion. Although the fight is going to be in Japan but currently postponed, Ancajas for me has more of the experience fighting good fighters in his resume. For me experience is not based on the number of fights, but on who they face as opposition before and mostly, Ancajas has a tougher fight but won all 10 defending his belt. But yes, it will be another difficult fight for Ancajas, but hopefully he can beat his Japanese foe and unify the belt and continue his reign and look for more lucrative and bigger fight in this weight class.
3137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Potential price of Polygon (MATIC) next year on: December 05, 2021, 02:51:20 AM
The next price for polygon in 2022 depends on BTC price next year, it would have been better if I got mine at 0.50$ cos with 2.2$ per coin is already a profitable ROI, if BTC breaks 61,000$ successfully then 3-4$ per matic is possible
We don't know that yet but I am also hoping that btc could do a hard bounce here, that's the only way we can feel the alts movement. Polygon is good and with its current price it's actually quite a strong one since a lot of major altcoins are so down. Possibly one of the best contender on eth when they do a good run during a fast pacing bull Market. If btc reaches 100k then its really a good major investment.

Yeah, as obviously, some of the best altcoins still rely on BTC price movement, if it goes higher at the end of the year, maybe we can see this top 10-20 coins increasing as well or even reaching new all time high, however, it seems that Bitcoin is faltering in price as it is below $50,000 right now.

Regarding the potential of Polygon, obviously, it has a bright future as in the last year or so, it has enjoyed tremendous ROI for it's bagholder. And as long as we are still in the bullish phase, it might hit a good price like $3.00-$4.00 as predicted.
3138  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is getting more bearish, what is the trigger? on: December 05, 2021, 02:00:22 AM
Just momentum and reversal of speculation is enough to do this, nothing much but people forgot we can roll backwards as well as forwards.   There are some clues in the wider market like dollar strength and general market risk off but its only slight and caused a larger move in a speculative asset such as Bitcoin.

Yeah, the very definition of how volatile bitcoin market is, and how it is affected by what is going around globally regardless of what event it is, i.e. covid-19 new variant, or Fed news.

Right now though, we have a good bounce, going to $49,000 after a precarious $47,000 and keeps on counting. At least now the bleeding has stop, but we shall see if the can get back to $50,000 at least and have a good momentum Monday.
3139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 05, 2021, 01:36:27 AM
It seems that the higher seeded player plays in the second match, Djokovic and Medvedev
for example played all their singles matches in the second one AFAIK.

I dont know if this is an automatic draw of the selection of the captains?

What is it with Medvedev and the Spanish audience? after his match today beating Struff
he seemed to be goading the audience who in turn were jeering him. He seems lately
to be getting on the wrong side of the audience.

Perhaps they don't like Medvedev that much? But I'm sure it's just the Spanish audience I reckon.

Medvedev is not known to have this players attitude so it's really quite surprising, maybe he is just playing with the crowd, that's it.

I think its not automatic draw but its boils down to the Captain's decision and it make sense because at least they will know where they are going to stand after the second match, it's either their top players can put them ahead for good or have a chance to recover and tie the score.
3140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata December 29 on: December 05, 2021, 12:20:56 AM
That's really too bad if the fight is going to be postponed for next year.

Nevertheless, Japan is one country wherein they have the strictest policy as far as Covid-19 health protocols so with the new variant, we have to understand what they are doing is for the good of everybody concern specially GGG because he will be the one to travel.

So yeah, have patience in this fight and wait till the next official announcement.

Why it's too bad? December 29 is the scheduled date and it's almost the next year already.  If the fight will be postponed for 1-2 months, that would also be no problem. More than that, still fine as long as it should happen next year.

More preparations for Murata to think of a way how he will beat GGG. We as viewers know that GGG might take the win but we want an explosive bout to watch so let's allow Murata to prepare more.

It's bad because it will be push as scheduled, and as a boxing fan, we already set on our minds that we are going to see GGG on the 29th. I know that it won't be a problem if it push back 1-2 months. But sometimes we can't wait to see one of our favorite boxers in the ring again. I think this is GGG supposedly first fight in 2021, last time he fought was December 2020 and that will make him more than a year without a fight and that could spell ring rust even to the best of them.
