3121  Local / India / Re: Indian crypto exchanges see 10x volume during lock down on: May 10, 2020, 05:10:50 PM
~snip
Unfortunately the rally didn't continue and bitcoin is now down by 22% from the peak it had reached after a long time. But it is really great to see that Indians a re taking bitcoins seriously and pouring their money into it.
It is good to see that the market was able to breach the $10k multiple times during this push but was not able to sustain much longer and i was eagerly waiting whether the resistance could be broken and made a stop loss order at $10k as i expected the market to have a small correction if the resistance is not broken but did not expect 22%.

That's really a positive sign after all the fights we had with the banking system. The halving indeed helped to generate mass interest among the mass. Just see the below search term in Google Trends,
People love to cash in the opportunity and it is not surprising that the searches peaked by April end, they get in before the rally and get out after that and that is the usual trend i see from past experiences.
3122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Small Investors are losing Bitcoin by Investing in Altcoins? on: May 10, 2020, 11:31:08 AM
You can buy 8000 tokens in 1 USD when price of bitcoin is 8000 USD but if bitcoin price will rise to 16000 USD then you can buy 16000 tokens in same price. Now all token price does not move according to BTC price,it will drop 20-30% without any sign of drop, but when you will compare with bitcoin you will find that you are in loss.
The price of the token is determined by the developers and as an investor you need to assess the project and you determine whether it is a viable project that can sustain and if everyone does that then we will not have these situation of people running away with money and valuations going down.

If you are foolish enough to invest in it thinking that it would give you the profit well above BTCitcoin who is at fault. The token projects are experimental and there is no guarantee that it would give you the profit. People usually dump the coins once they hit the market and only a few tokens are still surviving.

BTCitcoin is currency and if you are looking for profits then hold onto it rather than investing in tokens.

Anyone here watching the fight live fellows.

It is a crazy night of fights and i am overwhelmed watching all the fights. Majority of the fights went to the judges

Jeremy Stephens v Calvin Kattar

Jeremy Stephens was having the momentum in the first round and he landed some good shots but in the second round Calvin Kattar landed with one elbow and that decided the fight and a second elbow was nasty and the fight was stopped.

Francis Ngannou v Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Rozenstruik called out the grim reaper Cheesy, the fight is over as it started, Rozenstruik was thinking about a technical fight landing a couple of heavy leg kicks and Francis Ngannou had enough and closed the distance fast with wild swings and the first shot he landed Rozenstruik slept and a few shots added as flavor, it was brutal.

Henry Cejudo v Dominick Cruz

It was a bit controversial but Cejudo landed many unanswered shots when the referee called off the fight but he was trying to stand up when the fight is called off and the most surprising was Cejudo retired for good.

The main event is going on, hoping fireworks

EDiT:

One of the best and dominating performance by Justin Gaethje and Tony could take a punch as he was eating punches after another for 5 rounds and he looked like he fell off a train and referee had no choice than to stop the fight.

My stand out performance i liked was Calvin Kattar and Francis Ngannou and Justin Gaethje for interrupting the landscape of the division, Justin Gaethje v Khabib would be great but everyone will miss the Tony fight.
3125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Goverment can literally destroy bitcoin whenever they want on: May 09, 2020, 09:02:13 AM
But even if it's too expensive and too unprofitable it's still possible. And I know that none of us would want that, because of the loss of fortunes (bitcoin price would drop). Some goverments tho, would want to destroy the bitcoin network and of course they can easily afford it.

Thoughts? Do you believe that goverments can control it? And please correct me if I'm wrong about the 51% attack, because I haven't fully understood it.
If you are willing to spend $24 millions per day with the additional cost of ASIC you can try to destroy the network, then what happens, what is the final outcome by spending billions to destroy a network and a government cannot spent tax payers money to carry on an attack on a financial sector.

It was possible for a government or anyone when Satoshi released the first software back in 2009 and in the initial years even Satoshi did not want unwanted exposure until everything is tested and bugs are identified.

So the answer is no, no government will spent billions nor millions to destroy the BTCitcoin network.

If you want to know about the 51% attack in different crypto network, here is a site crypto51

We made a project called ullu its an opensource decentralized crowdfunding platform, first the project's name was covgrow and than we changed it due to our community feedbacks and we gave every covc holder ullu coin, we presented ullu here
I have a couple of questions,

  • 1) Are you aware of a media company with the same name "ULLU" which is available in apple and google play store. Hope you are aware that you will not be getting a permission to be listed in both these digital distribution service.
  • 2) Have you have taken their permission to use the same name, i am yet to get the confirmation from the team about their copyright and trademark details and whether someone can use that to create a project with the same name and collect funds (crowdfunding as per your site), once i get their response i will add further information.

Hope you know one additional meaning of ULLU in Hindi and Punjabi, it means stupid  Tongue.
3127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 08, 2020, 01:57:26 PM
The leg injury and the surgery pic looked horrible and yes it was his left leg, yet Ferguson returned to fight Anthony Pettis than normal time which is crazy on its own because with the type of injury he had it was foolish to return that fast and he came back and destroyed Pettis even though he got rocked in the fight.
Tony Ferguson is not human, he started his own rehabilitation and set up his own gym and started practicing for the next fight in three months after the surgery which is unheard even for other fighters as they were amused by the early recovery.

The doubt i have is, what happens if any fighter tests positive after the event, will they sign a non disclosure agreement with the fighters to keep their mouth shut.
In a world where you cannot uphold privacy you think that if there is an agreement it will not leak to the media, even if there is a private deal if they are admitted to the hospital for the treatment it will be public knowledge Tongue.

If he can get just one big fight for the Island it will be huge, but he mentions with fighters like McGregor they will miss out millions from gate receipts. I still think they will make up for that in PPV sales though as if that's the only way you can watch it they could get away with charging a premium, which would be understandable given how much they've probably spent on the infrastructure etc.
We will get the clarity after this event, majority of the people are on the verge of loosing their jobs and business and it will be a success but expect more illegal streams unless they reduce the PPV charges.

Ben Askren is a crypto enthusiast for a long time, good to see Eddie Alvarez jumping in knowing that the halving is approaching  Grin.
3128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wright's Ph.D. flying the coop? Shouldn't have put his eggs in one basket! on: May 08, 2020, 08:59:24 AM
I fully expect he'll be dis-quail-ified. Once he re-terns his ducktorate will he get a booby prize or will he be left brooding over a goose egg?  Either way I don't think it will be long before his fowl play goes entirely tits up and we hear the swan song of a caw-nvicted jail bird and, at last, the end of his robin.

Coming next: A shocking revelation that Wright's "first draft" of of the "Bitcoin Whitepaper" was also plagiarized!
After reviewing he will loose his duck-torate and he can come up with chicken theory  Cheesy

3129  Local / India / Re: Indian crypto exchanges see 10x volume during lock down on: May 07, 2020, 11:05:19 PM
At least some positive thing to hear during this lock down and utterly frustrating situations.
The halving is approaching and the exchanges have opened after the supreme court order and with literally nothing else to do people will start exploring new opportunities and i am sure it has a correlation with the price of BTCitcoin having a sudden increase in valuation over 20% in the past weeks, so it is a combination of things and once the rally starts i am expecting the volume to continue moving up.

3131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Michael Jordan’s gambling history revisited. on: May 06, 2020, 11:14:55 AM
In Italy there was a Captain of a famous Serie A team that has been involved in illegal betting!
Few players (from several team) were involved in such illegal activities...even clubs get fined!
Betting is a billion industry its full of people that want take an advantage, and there are also criminal interests behind Sad
Match fixing is nothing new but in recent years there are many case that are popping up because police are able to monitor and track mobile devices if they find any anomaly during the match. Most sports bodies will issue a life time ban if they find out they are involved in any malpractice.

In cricket there were many high profile cases in the past 20 years and the recent spot fixing incident during 2010 was revealed because the handler damaged his mobile phone and gave for repairing and the shop owner found evidence of foul play and informed the media and the players behind the fixing scandal got banned for life and jail sentencing.

When i hear a sports person who used to gamble then i am certain he would have done the same in the match he is involved, if you take the example of cricket and how many high profile players were caught fixing the matches like Hansie Cronje, Azharuddin, Herschelle Gibbs and so on, as a fan you will never expect these players to fool the audience but it happened and now the rule in cricket is that if a bookie approaches you, it is the players responsibility to inform the authorities and if you are not doing that you will be punished and recently Shakib Al Hasan got a one year ban for not informing the authorities about a bookie approach.

I am not telling that Michael Jordan fixed matches but i am sure he would have made decisions that would aide his bet.
3132  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin is still legal in India and Bitcoin's future after Lockdown? on: May 05, 2020, 10:38:48 PM
AFAIK, The legal situation in India has not changed, so I think it is legal to buy Bitcoins in that country. The problem lies in starting a business associated with crypto, which is not recommended due to many legal fluctuations in that country.
There was a change in 2017 when RBI passed a circular to the banking sector to stop business with crypto based business and hence the exchanges were forced to shut down, the government never said it was illegal but they were monitoring the traders, just recently the supreme court lifted the ban imposed by the central bank and now the exchanges are functioning normally but there is a possibility for review petition and you never know what will be the end result and hence starting a business now related to the crypto market is not advisable.
3133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 05, 2020, 09:32:20 PM
So what if this new experiment fail. You fail when you try something new, nothing wrong with that but it should be encouraged. We should not forget that we are enjoying ODI and T-20 because some nut-job did the experiment with the cricket at some point.
The transition of cricket is interesting, ODI started because three days of a test match was washed out and to entertain the crowd they played 40 overs a side and the number of balls in an over was 8 and when ODI was introduced then it was 60 overs per side and the parallel tournament created by Kerry Packer is what we see now as ODI cricket with color jersey, day night matches and white ball instead of red ball and 50 over cricket.

There is a similarity in T20 version too, a parallel league ICL started T20 league and like the former parallel league the cricket board put restrictions and banned many players and IPL copied everything what ICL did and now it is a cash cow and other nations followed.

Now the 100 ball tournament, lets see how it will progress.
3134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 05, 2020, 07:02:42 PM
Around 18-19 years ago... the ECB experimented with another format of cricket called "Power Cricket". This was probably before the T20 cricket established its hold. It was played for a shorter duration. I don't remember exactly, but I guess each innings composed of 12 overs. The major difference with this format was that on top of 4s and 6s, there were 3 new types of boundaries. Depending on the length of the sixer, 8 and 10 runs were given. 8 runs if the ball landed more than 20 meters beyond the boundary line and 10 runs if it landed 40 m back. 12 runs were awarded, when the ball hit the roof (this format was played in stadiums with retractable roof).
I think you are talking about Cricket Max which is invented by former New Zealand cricketer Martin Crowe and it was not ECB who developed that but it was New Zealand, i still remember getting confused and Sachin playing one match when the ball is hit at a certain area you will get double the runs and hence max cricket  Cheesy and the reason it was not a success is because it was really confusing.

100 ball cricket will be successful if they can make it simple rather than confuse the audience, a new format means new advertisement revenue and that is what they are looking for.

Whether a fast bowler is able to bowl 10 balls without fatigue, think about Rashid Khan bowling 10 balls on the trot which will be a nightmare for many Cheesy.
If a captain wants to continue him in the team for the next match he will use him for a 5 ball spell than burning him out. It will have two sides either the batsman getting comfortable with a particular bowler or force to counter attack if it gets tougher.
3135  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin legitimacy may be improved by the hackers who are moving to Monero on: May 05, 2020, 12:20:15 PM
With that background established, what might happen if hackers embraced Monero and bitcoin itself became more accepted by the commercial banking and business establishment?
Do you think that the commercial banking and business establishment are not adopting BTCitcoin because of hackers Tongue. The legitimacy of BTCitcoin is written in stone in the white paper and people who spend the time to read will understand. Wink

Therefore, currencies like Monero will replace the antiquated Model-T's like Bitcoin that are little more than 'payment tracking systems'.
It is a bold statement when regulator are planning to implement rules and regulations and once that is proposed i would be surprised if the regulators ignore the anonymous coins and i am expecting they will be forced to remove these anon coins from all the regulated exchanges Tongue.

3136  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: FORTUNEJACK Multi-Accounting Warning -> Scam Accusation on: May 05, 2020, 09:41:01 AM
I am now having the same issue if you happen to get this can you let me know how you managed success

since you have been found to have actively participated in illegitimate multi-accounting activity for the purpose of monetary gain, which is in direct violation of FortuneJack's Terms & Conditions, your withdrawal has been terminated.

If you get a similar response from fortunejack and if they found that you used multi accounts to gain airdrops and abuse their faucets then it is highly unlikely you will get the funds and that includes if you used a VPN or TOR. You can contact their support team and if you did not participate in abusing the system then you will get it resolved if not there is no point in playing the victim.
3137  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 04, 2020, 04:24:43 PM
I'm not really in-to UFC sports but is that allowed that both of these fighters will be fighting even with with different heights? I think it is quite hard for the white one to reach the opponent as it is evident in the picture that he can grab him easily because of his long hands. Well, If it is allowed then the faith of the match will depend on the skill of both of these fighters, and how the will cope with the physical characteristics of their opponent.
Looks like you are confused with the image i posted, Francis Ngannouis is the big guy and the person next to him is not his opponent  Wink.

Every contact sports has weight divisions, UFC has 8 weight divisions for men and 4 weight division for women. UFC started with one division as it was open weight class then they introduced weight division to make MMA a sporting event rather than a spectacle.
Boxing has 17 weight divisions and so does other sports.

We might see a fight between Conor McGregor and Jorge Masvidal for the BMF belt, i was expecting a trilogy with Nate Diaz but uncle Dana has other plans  Cheesy.
3138  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: May 04, 2020, 02:15:07 PM
Money is the fuel and money is in short version cricket. Players do not have much patience to play a cricket match for 5 long days unfortunately. Example: We see these days Test matches has results. Very low number of Tests finishes with a draw and lasts five days.
The funny aspect is that ICC and BCCI was not even interested with the T20 concept but when they started seeing huge crowds during regional competition the ICC wanted to experiment with T20 and the World cup was introduced and India even sent a young team for the first World Cup resting the main players and then we know the history as T20 is popular than ODI and Test matches.

Test matches are ending within 5 days, do you think it is because the bowlers are spectacular or the batting standard in Test matches have gone down Wink.

By the way, how are we all doing. I hope everyone is safe and keeping the social distance.
I am safe but the number of patients are increasing in my surrounding which is a cause for concern, hope everyone here is safe and doing well.
3139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: May 03, 2020, 08:55:35 PM
Made a couple more bets...  Ngannou vs Rosensteuik, under 1.5 rounds at 1.90 and putting some action on Cerrone at 2.20 vs Pettis.  Both have been declining lately but I think a declining Cerrone beats a declining Pettis.  IMHO.
Francis Ngannouis the first real competition for Jairzinho Rozenstruik in MMA even though Alistair Overeem was a worthy opponent but he was getting outscored by Overeem but he was able to knock him out in the final round and i have seen the recent pictures of Francis Ngannouis and he looked really ripped. My pick is Francis Ngannouis but i wont be surprised if they go to the third round.

Pettis and Cerrone are at the tail end of their careers and it is good to see the UFC is not putting both these fighters against new upcoming talents to get a huge push.

3140  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will blockchain able to fight against COVID-19 on: May 03, 2020, 08:07:34 PM
The charity organization announced to use blockchain technology for funds raising. The chief motive behind the campaign is to reduce stress on hospitals. Hope everything goes according to the plans.
The number of patients is increasing and even during a pandemic like these you will encounter many scammers taking advantage of the situation in the name of raising funds and they might use a blockchain technology to raise funds but that does not mean that they are going to be legit, i have seen plenty of scammers in the market and i am not going to trust a project that wanted to raise money in the pretext of helping someone.
