3121  Local / India / satoshis as reward points for fiat spendings on: September 09, 2021, 03:06:14 PM
To begin with, I am not promoting this platform but asking for opinions and reviews as to how good it can be.

I just came across this platform called GoSats which offers a debit card where the reward points are given in the form of Satoshis. I found this really exciting because getting satoshis for spending fiat sounds really cool to me.
Collecting those satoshis can someday become a big amount if we keep using the card. Also, when bitcoin price spikes up the value for these satoshis will increase as well.
Most of us here use debit or credit cards and we get reward points which we even forget sometimes. I am not really sure if this is a genuine platform or a scam.
But if this was genuine product I would certainly like to get my hands on this card. What do you guys think ?

The website is https://gosats.io/

Check it out and let me know your thoughts about it. I wish many such startups establish a wider crypto adoption in India.
3122  Local / India / Re: Banks are repotedly softening their stance on crypto trading on: September 09, 2021, 02:49:57 PM

3. The last one was an eye-opener for me I was not aware that UPI does not fall under the jurisdiction of RBI and that is why most Indian exchanges are promoting UPI payments. In a way UPI it is far better than the traditional transaction system.

Yes, I came to know about this when gpay initially started the UPI payments. Many of my friends started using gpay for how easy and convenient it was to make transactions but everything has a downside.
Few friends of mine had some transactions which didn't get processed and upon complaining in the banks for deducting money they said that UPI payments does not come under their regulation.
All the banks completely deny any help for UPI payments.

So yeah this has become a great way for crypto startups to give a payment gateway to their customers to buy/sell crypto but then again we must know that any failed transactions will get us in a dilemma as no help will be provided from the banks.
3123  Local / Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India) / Re: Got scammed by localbitcoins trader Prateeketc on: September 09, 2021, 02:02:49 PM
Myself shahid from mumbai. I had an old stash of btc with me which i wanted to cash out. I choose to deal from localbitcoins. Since i did not have a verfied account there, i decided to contact a trader and execute a deal outside of localbitcoins.

I first contacted "Abidhussainf" but our times did not match so i went ahead and contacted another trader who goes by the id "Prateeketc". I contacted him on his whatsapp number  8217331774. He replied quickly and we dealt without escrow for Rs. 20000. Since the deal was successful, i decided to proceed with another deal of 50000 INR to which i sent him around 0.015 btc. He assured me that he will send me the funds in 10 minutes after which he went offline from whatsapp and even blocked me on calls now.

I got in touch with the local police station today who refereed me to cyber crime bran to register a case of fraud. They have asked me to submit his details asap. If anybody here has any details about this person kindly let me know.

Also it would be great if you guys please suggest me what other option i have to recover my amount

The first mistake you did was contacting a trader from Localbitcoins outside the official platform. You could have continued the trade on the official platform and they might have helped you in case of a fraud.

The second mistake you did was not to use an escrow. An escrow is a must in a P2P trade if your amount is big. Not using escrows gives an advantage to the scammer.

The third mistake you did was to send your bitcoins upfront. Whenever you do a P2P trade. Do not send your bitcoins first.

The first step to do is contact the local police and cyber crime department which you have already did.

The second step to do is raise awareness among other so that they don't fall for the same scammer again.

There's pretty much nothing more you can do about it. Just accept the losses and move on. You can also give it a last try by contacting the scammer from other number and threaten him that you have raised a complaint against him in cyber crime cell and ask him to transfer the btc back to you.
3124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is a hardware wallet really worth it? on: September 07, 2021, 04:09:47 PM
A hardware wallet is certainly the most secure way of holding your cryptocurrencies. You can buy it if you think you are not that good with security.
If you hold more than $500 of coins and you are planning to hold it for a long term then you can consider holding your coins in a hardware wallet.
On the other hand, if you are geek and if you are very good at security then I dont think there's a need for you to purchase a hardware wallet although it provides additional security than any other way of holding cryptocurrencies.
So it all depends on your needs and yourself.
3125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pay with Bitcoin on: September 07, 2021, 02:07:43 PM
I developed a high interest in Bitcoin lately want to accept Bitcoin for my sales and servicing company, am already working with a programmer to develop software or an application that will aid my transactions using the Bitcoin lightning network.

As the saying goes, no man is an island of knowledge, so I shared my story to get suggestions from this noble forum.

Firstly, congratulations on starting to accept bitcoin payments. It's a very good initiative which can lead to good profits.
May be if your product is shippable to other countries then you can make your sales worldwide and get the payment in bitcoin.
Ofcourse you will have to pay the taxes for exporting the product but you will be able to do the sales globally.
This can lead to more orders and hence more profits. Also, by accepting bitcoin payments you are contributing to the bitcoin network in promoting wider adoption.
3126  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading VS investing: pros & cons you should know on: September 06, 2021, 12:56:10 PM
I personally think that trading has a higher risk than investment. Investment are generally done for a long term.
Long term investments mostly give profits and so it has lesser risk of losing money.
Trading on the other hand is for short term and if not done correctly then it can lead to a loss and hence higher risk of losing money.
Many of my trades have lead me to a loss but all of my investments have given me good profits.
3127  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Your investing Strategy on: September 06, 2021, 05:48:34 AM
Doesn't need long complicated answers - just a simple question:

Do you invest
1. mainly on price/the market trends
2. mainly on the underlying usefulness of the token/NFT
3. pretty even split of the two.
snip

Most of the times it is the 2nd option that I prefer. I prefer to invest in projects which have a good utility.
But the rest of the times if I spot a trend I wait for the right time to enter and then hold the coin for a better return.
3128  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto is a side hustle, not a life or death situation on: September 06, 2021, 04:47:13 AM
This is a good topic to make a thread on. Many people in the forum are so involved with their coins in trading and investments that they completely forget that they have a life to live.
Making money is good but not at the cost of your health. Health is the most important thing to consider in your life.
This is why we should always keep a limit for our work whether it be the day job or crypto.
Keeping a limit for work leaves us with enough time for building up mental health which in turn keeps or physical health better. Taking enough breaks will help us to be more productive the next day.

Not selling your coins is good for long term but not selling them when you are in need of money is bad.
Whats the use of these investments if you can't use them at the right time. We should be wise enough to sell some at the right time to use the money for ourself or use it to buy back more later.

Looks like you have to put a deposit in an even larger amount.  Because of my experience, when our balance is low, we usually always lose.  But with bigger balances I've had luck.  High risk High Return in the dice game because it is 100% based on luck. But if it's too risky then choose a game that is not fully regulated by the website for example Poker but it's a different site because here there is no menu to play it

High balance doesn't always mean that our winning chances become high. Dice games generally have a provably fair algorithm and so it doesn't matter if we have a low balance or a high balance.
Also, high balance means risk of losing high amount of money. If we don't control our emotions we end up losing all our balance.
This is the case with most gamblers and they are not able to control their emotions.
On the other hand, if we have a low balance then even if we lose all our balance then it will be significantly a low amount.
3130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain recruiter mass-spam email on: September 04, 2021, 03:04:46 AM

[Kind of weird for these guys to contact me three times in a row with variations of this message after I've been declined from 10+ blockchain firms, no?  Huh]

LMAO. The last sentence was hilarious. I guess both of us if not most of us in this forum will be in the same boat.
Even I had tried getting a job in a blockchain/crypto firm but in vain.  I guess those firms require some extraordinary people.
It's good that you have posted this incident on here since many people will become aware of it.
I have seen a lot of people on LinkedIn with titles such as blockchain lead, blocking analyst, lead blockchain developer contacting me on regular basis to join their firm.
Its quite clear that it will lead to a scam because if they would want to hire a professional they would simply hire him through an official recruitment process and not by simply asking them in chat to join their team.
3131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What to answer when asked "Can I make money mining bitcoin?" on: September 04, 2021, 02:53:07 AM
The price of the mining hardware alone is insane, it would have been profitable in 2019 . Anyone with any brain power, knew back then to invest big into BTC or BTC Mining.
Now its uncertain if Btc can hold this price of 50K, it might go up, it might not.Buyin hardware at an unprecedented price as well as coins is a big risk, time will show who was right.

Thats exactly what I say to the people who ask me if they could mine bitcoin. Mining bitcoin alone is not the important factor but the cost of mining versus the return on investment is the thing to be considered the most.
Also, the time taken to make even is also another important factor.
Most people drop the idea when their initial investment is low because lower investment is equal to greater time to make even.
Bitcoin mining costs a lot and not a lot of people are able to afford it.
3132  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are some individuals hostile to Bitcoin? on: September 04, 2021, 02:47:42 AM
There can be many reasons why many people can turn hostile to bitcoin. I can a list a few reasons of the many

1. They are antibitcoin
2. Someone is paying them to speak ill of bitcoin
3. They didn't get the opportunity to buy bitcoin at cheap price
4. They are competitors of bitcoin
5. They are more into altcoins
6. They don't know what bitcoin is all about
7. They were previously scammed or have been a victim of such incident
8. Someone they know was hacked/scammed

There will surely be more reasons that I can't think of right now.
3133  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SOL is already $144, can still buy it? on: September 03, 2021, 02:21:59 PM

Unbelievable,

SOL was only $1 last year, now is $144

It is 144 times that of a year
snip

Can I still buy it? Which is next one?

You can surely buy it at current price but should you buy it at current price or not should be the right question.
I am a SOL believer and I would say you to invest in it but even I think that the current price is over valued.
Solana has to undergo a correction but the hype is real.
It definitely has the potential to go beyond and reach greater heights. My best advice would be to dollar cost average.
Buy some and wait, if price dumps then buy more. Keep buying at different prices to not miss out the opportunity as well as getting a good average buy rate.
3134  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC.Game-🔴🔴🔴BET RED IN CRASH!🔴🔴🔴 Find More Unique Games! on: September 03, 2021, 02:13:39 PM
To further show our enthusiasm for blockchain and to participate in its many use cases, we have uploaded our license to the IPFS and minted it as an NFT.

IPFS here:
https://gateway.pinata.cloud/ipfs/QmeQamzWwuePeUcj5ub7TDQzk4rnSrW6HcgiFWRsecEi5N/License.jpg

Here is the NFT. No, it's not for sale, but you can bask in all of its glory here:
https://rarible.com/token/0x2790c2d469994744666754b6f5558b71d6d1f956:1?tab=details

Now that's a very good use case for NFTs. I thought bc.game already had the gambling license I just never bothered to check it though.
Anyway, its good to find out that bc.game officially has a license and has minter the NFT on the blockchain.
This adds as a showcase to your site and promotes the use of blockchain and cryptocurrency.
May be all gambling sites can follow your lead and mint their own gambling license in the form of NFTs.
3135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Metaverse x Gambling on: September 03, 2021, 12:52:08 PM
Metaverses are developing with great speed and attract the attention of not only players but also large companies. Of course gambling will come to this sphere because by using NFT and Defi it is possible to offer users a completely new experience in gambling. It is possible that this kind of entertainment will attract young players, but still think that none of the metaverses will not be able to recreate the atmosphere of a real casino.

The real experience might not be the exact same since real experience has the physical touch which lack in metaverse and virtual reality but it may be very similar to the real experience.
Technology is advancing quickly and it will take only a few years to create a virtual world which will have almost identical things and similar experience to the real world.
Everything has their own pros and cons and so will the metaverse. Whether or not the experience feels like real it will create a whole new experience for most of the people in the crypto community.

Glad that freebitco.in manages the situation very well. However, I feel sorry for another faucets which have been constantly drained and ended abruptly because of cheaters.

That's why we visitors get spammed with ads to cover up those loses.

Still, the amounts are not worth using multi-accounts or bots smh my head.
Yes, and I hate those pop-up ads opening after every click redirecting the user to different websites. What could be done in 1 second or so takes at least 10 seconds because of intrusive ads. That was one of the reasons I gave up on faucets with the exception of freebitco.in. If I could claim faster I wouldn't bother in receiving little amounts, because at least it would be possible to fastly claim at many different sites.

On the other hand, it's understandable they need this kind of source of income to maintain the site alive.

Seeking for a solution to make the experience more enjoyable for users, some faucets get inspired by freebitco.in and try to introduce the hi-lo game feature as well, but without success.

I don't think there would be any person who like ads except for the advertising companies. Lol  Grin
Closing the ads is still acceptable if there was no time limit to close them but most of the  ads require us to watch the ad for a certain time period.
This is what I hate the most. Freebitco.in is doing a good job by not displaying ads.
Their house edge is still acceptable because not everyone plays the high lo game and many are just in it for he faucets and betting prediction.
Freebitco.in is my favourite gambling site and second comes the bc.game which is also a really good gambling site.
3137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: At what Age will you introduce your child to trading on: September 03, 2021, 05:17:00 AM
It would be even better to have trading as a subject in schools so that children can know about trading right from their childhood.
As they say that the current education system never teaches how to become financially free.
So having subjects which can encourage children to become financially free by trading, investing, passive income and other means could be a revolutionary movement.
I would personally try to make my child understand the concepts of trading and investment right from his childhood.

This idea is actually good but in most cases, we are like educated to work for somebody and work in top companies. Sometimes they neglect the idea that we can make our own life by doing our own thing. For me, as long as the child can accept those concepts as early as they can, much better. Maybe slowly integrate it in the curriculum so it is not drastic introduction of the concept. Because in time, they will learn their ways how to get a hold of themselves in the trading market.

Everything is pre-planned by the elites because they don't want everyone to know the secret to build wealth. If everyone starts making their own money then there will be nobody to work as employees in multinational companies.
The whole system of education and working for companies is planned accordingly and the less educated are falling for the trap.

To escape the rat race we must identify our stance in current economy and find and alternative solution to build wealth.
Only if we find the correct path we will be able to teach or kids the same.
The next generation will have so many highly intellectual children changing the world for good.
3138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Investors their mind on: September 02, 2021, 03:38:51 PM
It's joyous to make gains in trading. The problem is how does one control his mind when there is a huge lose

Facing losses is what makes a trader stronger. With losses comes experience and with experience comes the ability to make higher profits.
So it depends on your perspective whether you are taking the losses in a negative way or a positive way.
Yes it might you in the short term but once you develop the habit of learning from your mistakes then at one point you will start making higher profits.

3140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spain bans betting adds - no celebrities, no sport sponsorship, no daytime adds on: September 02, 2021, 09:34:31 AM
https://www.sportspromedia.com/news/la-liga-betting-shirt-sponsors-2020-21-season

The new law has knocked down strongly all the preferred advertising options for betting business. They cannot, for example, be on a teams shirt nor celebrities from sports are allowed to promote betting houses or platforms. Also, the adds in TV can only be run late at night. Needless to say that is a torpedo on the finances of several teams and may affect their ability to recruit and maintain the right players.

Teams directly affected:
Quote
Alavés (Betway), Cádiz (Dafabet), Granada (Winamax), Levante (Betway), Real Betis (Betway), Sevilla (MarathonBet) and Valencia (Bwin).

I don't think that banning betting ads or restricting the gambling ads will affect the recruiting ability of sport teams.
The main idea of such sponsors is to raise money to recruit the team members. If the management doesn't get sponsors from betting companies then they will surely get sponsors from other companies.
So I think the recruiting process will go on like before. The amount raised by the other sponsors might be a little lower but I don't think it will create that big of an impact.
