3121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: October 28, 2022, 08:25:32 AM
Good idea for spreadsheet, but I guess I actually dump about 10 mbtc into pools and consider that an immediate loss. Less in past seasons as there weren't so many pools, and then counting the sponsorships I've probably put myself into a nice hole BUT I consider all these as one-off expenses for season long entertainment, so no biggie heh.

Don't forget first picks tonight Wink
3122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stages on: October 27, 2022, 08:01:08 PM
Wish me luck tomorrow...i need goals from Slovacko and Köln!

Man, that is a beautiful ticket! I slipped up on a lot of tickets in Europa, and now waiting for 2nd half to see if my acca and final ML will hit but doesn't look good. Now I wish I'd taken a few picks in Conference as the teams I was looking at for HT wins would have all hit (Monaco, Hearts, Nice).

Hope Koln score 3 in first half so you're relaxed to enjoy the rest of the game!
3123  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurs vs Solopreneurs on: October 27, 2022, 07:26:50 PM
I was going to say we can create all kinds of hype words to describe situations, soloterprise? solopreneur, solocareer, really, didn't think it was important to do that. I'm on Upwork sometimes and other freelancer platforms, aren't all freelancers solopreneurs?

Besides the point anyway.

Industries can be recession-proof (gaming, I believe, one of them, trading is another), that doesn't protect workers from losing income or clients.

I don't have numbers but influencers probably have a high rate of failure. Even McAfee, cryptofluencer kind at one point, ended up struggling to get work once the shitcoin fuzz died. And was apparently fighting bankruptcy because of all that crypto shilling he did -- his tens of millions of followers did not proof him against crypto winter recession.
3124  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next big bull rally expected to begin in 2023 Q2 says Mark Yusko on: October 27, 2022, 05:23:18 PM
Definitely a good time to DCA, and it really doesn't matter if we rally unexpectedly even up to $40k to drop again to new lows (I have to believe this is coming), because it's a healthy 2 years minimum before the halving effect drives prices up. Even $100 a month means at least $2400 before that rise, and if this is the average price today, ATH of 2x already gives 500% on that. Math is just kind that way.
3125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Conference League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stages on: October 27, 2022, 03:24:50 PM
Decided not to put any money down on lines tonight, but if I were going to, I'd probably put a lot of money down on Villareal, who lost their boss to Villa -- maybe going as far as they can in Conference will be their welcoming gift to impress new gaffer Setien, who'll also want to do his best to remind Barca about his qualities (haha).
3126  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear market likely over? on: October 27, 2022, 02:10:46 PM
Just a short squeeze, nothing too much in this to get excited about, particularly as we've been here before several times already these last 4 months.

If we're patting ourselves on the back for this, I won't know what we'll do to award anyone who makes it through new lows (they're coming, don't dream) and emerges in 2023/4/5 to claim a new ATH. Medals are cheap Wink
3127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +85933 units on: October 27, 2022, 01:09:28 PM
^ Thanks! I actually only recorded 2016 season when we were in Europa League, almost all my bets were just on Liverpool, they were in Europa League, chasing a new format under Klopp, odds were great. I made a lot of bets on them ML but also I recall Sturridge scoring (he was on a hot streak). It was a pure for fun gamble with a very small amount, new bookie accounts to take advantage of tremendous odds, and ended the season with a huge sum despite losing the final.

Since then, I actually don't bet on Liverpool much if odds are below 2/1 except to tag them on to accas. I honestly don't know if I'm profitable on them but I made quite a lot of outright money on them winning UCL and Premier League, not to mention big bets against City (where we're always the underdog)... the 20/1 odds on us to qualify vs Barca after we got thrashed 3-0 jumps to memory as the biggest odds win on single bets.

So I feel I can safely say -- without proper evidence but I bet if you went through this thread and picked out Liverpool-only bets -- that I don't lose too much on Liverpool since odds are rarely above 2/1, and when they are, that's big value for me. Big bets as the underdogs pays off quite a bit because we do have a high win rate against fancier opposition.

We deserved the in last night, but we did NOT deserve the HT lead. Funny how football goes.

Anyway, just 1 ambitious bet tonight and that's on Sheriff to beat United... I actually thought I snatched super value at 31/1 because even with price boost on most bookies it was well under 30, but today odds are as high as 36/1 on Fairlay. So... I'll count that as negative value as I won't double down stakes Wink

100 units at Fairlay on Sheriff Tiraspol to WIN vs United @31.00. Other odds: 35.98
Units advantage: -498

Running advantage after 32 bets: +2431 (-498)
All-time cumulative: +86,045
Running units after 31 bets (6W|25L): +1946 (+312)
3128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Europa League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stages on: October 27, 2022, 12:45:15 PM
So odds for Sheriff to win has gone all the way up to 36/1! I felt it would actually go down but I guess the money's just been pouring on for United, so I can only hope that they find a way to lose it on home turf.

Arsenal odds also rose up a little, but I'm keeping my money to myself and letting whatever I have ride.

My main ticket is Union Berlin and Freiburg, actually, so I'll be hoping the former wants to progress, and the latter want to win the group in style =)
3129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: October 26, 2022, 06:11:31 PM
Lol As if we wouldn't notice, man hid in Nunez! What kind of havoc is Nunez capable of creating, haha? It's a must-win game for Liverpool to secure a place before their game against Napoli. I'm rooting for Liverpool and Tottenham tonight.

I've yet to see a non-Barcelona fan cheering for them, it seems like every other club fan wants Barcelona to be drowned in the Europa so badly. Has anyone seen the video of Muller's message to Lewandowski on Tiktok? if Inter wins, I don't think Barcelona players will have the guts to play. I'm going against my pool prediction on my bet slip. Bayern win @2.95

I'm hoping a lot! The guy has (rightly) been blamed for not finishing off our chances and not picking out the right decisions but you know what, I like his unpredictability. Too often in seasons past we've played too pretty in front of goal, overpassing and trying to pass the ball into the net, so I like we have one guy who's always willing to pull the trigger -- just a shame we've not got his providers on song yet.

As for Barca, I'm tired of losing money on them so I'm sitting it out -- nothing to play for now with Inter needing to concede THREE goals so hope they just smash heh.
3130  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is deflation considered to be an admirable feature of Bitcoin? on: October 26, 2022, 04:48:08 PM
Not sure it was an admirable feature as much as a unique one that challenged the notion of supply expanding to meet demand (or adjusted to meet goals).

Also, not sure if Satoshi's vision is important any longer, or relevant, beyond historical significance to early onset. I think, as you noted, he was very aware of the shifting climate. Bitcoin's origin, if we acknowledge genesis block's message, was a starting point, I'm sure he knew he could predict, but not foresee what that vision would be in a decade, never mind it being a shared vision by all its users.
3131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +85933 units on: October 26, 2022, 03:48:31 PM
Brighton actually started... brightly, if defending well is bright. But enough about that, tonight I'm putting a big one on Liverpool but for this thread, just a modest doubling down on regular stakes will do for a half time lead. Yes I know the Reds concede first 80% of games this season but can we just get the early lead first?

200 units at Fairlay on Liverpool to WIN at HT vs Ajax @2.56. Other odds: 2.48
Units advantage: 16

Running advantage after 31 bets: +2929 (+16)
All-time cumulative: +86,543
Running units after 30 bets (5W|25L): +1634 (-100)
3132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: October 26, 2022, 03:12:17 PM
Miracle win for Viktoria Plzen, but FC Barcelona get destroyed by Bayern so Inter Milan qualify to the next round. Perfect scenario. 10 bucks on Plzen @23 odds and Barca going back to europa league, couldn't ask for more  Grin

That's the spirit! Haha. I took home some small bets yesterday already from Benfica and Leipzig, but the odds weren't so good, being home games and against teams that felt they probably didn't need to win (for very different reasons ha).

I got a simple big ticket on Liverpool tonight, because I know we only need a draw but just hoping Ajax are too desperate to score in front of fans, leaving Nunez and Salah to wreak havoc.

Also because I'm dumb I guess, but over 2/1 to me suddenly feels like value in Europe.
3133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽UEFA Champions League Discussion Thread -- 2022/23 | Group Stage on: October 26, 2022, 02:05:18 PM
@bullrunbro Yeah, Barca's really and truly cost me this season in Europe, but I might be backing them again. Definitely played far better than the Germans in the return fixture but still managed to lose. They've been free-scoring in La Liga too, so hopefully we get another Dembele masterclass, Fati running the show and Lewie getting Barca their money's worth.

Odds not too cool, but probably still worth a big punt for fans.

Hmm, was hoping to see some action from my outright, so when matches are abandoned, it's like a draw and share points? Would have preferred to see NZ draw a tougher opponent or win this one, to get full 4 points. How important will this dropped point be later on, they will ask.

Who else saw Ireland take it home?
3139  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 26, 2022, 10:32:33 AM
If we fixate on price movements that are still stuck in the circle of $19K - $20K or $20K - $19K, it will make us bored and very easily influenced by the situation.

Yes, much better to be hot and heavy over $10k massive dip and then whipping ourselves into a frenzy to $25k before middling ourselves in a seesaw between that range for the next year or so, right?

But if consolidation and sideways are going to make us bored and "easily influenced", maybe Bitcoin isn't for us?
3140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | Champions League Pool ⚽️ Discussion Thread on: October 25, 2022, 09:08:29 PM
buwaytress, Am I allowed to post betslip from other casinos than Betnomi? I'm using one casino in most cases.
Let me guess, SB? 🤣

UCL matches are unpredictable. City may have a bad day and find themselves drawing against Dortmund or even losing the match. I think both team to score will be a safer choice. But since gambling are meant to be fun then why not have some super fun. Good luck with your slip.

Betnomi are the sponsors for this pool, I'm sure they wouldn't mind you dropping a betslip, but I'll to be safe, you should just mention anonymous odds Wink

I share bets all over the place but just to be respectful, if not at the bookie sponsoring a pool or at the ANN thread, I either just don't mention it, or talk about odds but without mentioning the bookie.

Well done on anyone predicting the draw, I went for BVB win, so didn't get anything BUT happily booked Leipzig and Benfica wins, although at such small amounts I feel idiotic not to have gone bigger at least on Benfica!

Hope you didn't make an acca with Leipzig draw? Shame if so!
